Mexico to Replace 16 Million Tons of GMO Corn with Native Maize

In addition to banning Monsanto/Bayer’s cancer-causing Roundup herbicide by 2024, Mexico is now pledging to rid the country of GMO corn by the same date.

To do so, it plans to gradually replace 16 million tons in annual imports of GMO corn from the United States with ancient, indigenous varieties.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador first made the decree on January 2, noting that bio-security authorities would “revoke and refrain from granting permits for the release of genetically modified corn seeds into the environment.”

Following through with that promise, Mexican health safety regulators just denied a permit for Monsanto/Bayer’s latest GMO corn variety last month.

Mexico-based US Embassy staffer who drugged, sexually assaulted and filmed attacks on at least 24 women was CIA spook, FBI admits

A former U.S. Embassy employee who sexually assaulted at least 24 women over 14 years while filming the attacks was in the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigations revealed Monday as it urged any other victims to come forward.

Brian Jeffrey Raymond, 45, of La Mesa, California, faces life in prison after admitting in July to federal sexual abuse and transportation of obscene material charges after being caught while stationed at the US Embassy in Mexico City, according to the Department of Justice.

He was stationed there between 2018 and his abrupt departure in May 2020. Raymond’s attacks began in 2006, and investigators have yet to say where the other abuse took place.

The FBI stated that Raymond worked for ‘many years’ in the CIA, but did not indicate when he worked there, for how long and at what capacity. However, a source familiar with the case told The Daily Beast that the CIA took administrative action after Raymond’s arrest, and that he resigned from his position soon after.

An investigation of Raymond’s electronic devices showed that, between an unspecified month in 2006 and May 2020, he took hundreds of photos and videos of at least 24 unconscious and nude or partially nude women. In a number of the photos, Raymond is seen touching the victims’ breasts, genitalia and buttocks.

We Finally Know How 43 Students on a Bus Vanished Into Thin Air

Transcripts of newly released text messages between a crime boss and a deputy police chief have finally lifted the lid on the mystery of 43 students who went missing one night in southwestern Mexico.

The messages indicate that the cops and the cartel worked together to capture, torture, and murder at least 38 of the 43 student teachers who went missing in September of 2014.

The students had made the deadly mistake of commandeering several buses in order to drive to Mexico City for a protest. It now seems clear that those buses were part of a drug-running operation that would carry a huge cargo of heroin across the U.S. border—and the students had accidentally stolen the load.

Mexican doctor hospitalized after receiving COVID-19 vaccine

Mexican authorities said they are studying the case of a 32-year-old female doctor who was hospitalized after receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

The doctor, whose name has not been released, was admitted to the intensive care unit of a public hospital in the northern state of Nuevo Leon after she experienced seizures, difficulty breathing and a skin rash.

“The initial diagnosis is encephalomyelitis,” the Health Ministry said in a statement released on Friday night. Encephalomyelitis is an inflammation of the brain and spinal cord.

The ministry added that the doctor has a history of allergic reactions and said that there is no evidence from clinical trials that anyone has developed an inflammation of the brain after the vaccine’s application.
