Harvard Weighs Major Crackdown On “Grade Inflation”

Harvard faculty begin voting Tuesday on what may be the most aggressive effort in decades to curb grade inflation, a long-running issue that has also drawn attention from the White House as it pushes broader higher-ed reforms, according to Bloomberg.

The proposal would cap A grades in undergraduate classes at 20% of students, plus four additional students. The move comes after A grades surged at Harvard: about 60% of grades were A’s in the 2024–25 academic year, more than double the rate in 2006. After administrators pushed for stricter grading last fall, that number dropped to 53%. Faculty have one week to vote, with results expected May 20.

Supporters say grade inflation has made academic distinctions less meaningful. Last year, Harvard seniors needed a 3.989 GPA to earn summa cum laude, and an award traditionally given to one student ended in a 54-way tie. As professor Jason Furman said, “It’s fundamentally dishonest to give the best students in the class the same grade as someone in the bottom half.”

Bloomberg writes that students have strongly opposed the plan, arguing it would increase stress, discourage academic risk-taking, and push students toward easier courses. Nearly 85% of undergraduates surveyed by The Harvard Crimson opposed the proposal. Student leader Caleb Thompson said “people really are against this,” while senior Summer Tan said students are already seeking easier classes instead of more challenging ones.

Some faculty members agree. Scott Duke Kominers warned the policy could discourage ambitious students and make Harvard less attractive to top applicants.

New robot ants work like real insects to build and dismantle on their own

It is based on “exbodied intelligence,” where coordination arises from interacting with the environment rather than complex internal programming.

Researchers at Harvard have developed a fleet of robotic ants that mimic the self-organizing behavior of social insects to build and dismantle structures without blueprints or central leadership.

Dubbed “RAnts”, these robotic ants have been designed by researchers from the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS).

These are simple, decentralized robots that can spontaneously organize to build — and just as easily destroy — complex structures.

Instead of chemical pheromones, these robots use light fields (photormones) to communicate.

“Our new study shows how simple, local rules can lead to the emergence of complex task completion that is self-organized and thus robust and adaptive,” said Professor L. Mahadevan, the Lola England de Valpine Professor of Applied Mathematics, Organismic and Evolutionary Biology, and Physics at SEAS and FAS.

“We also introduce the concept of exbodied intelligence, where collective cognition arises not solely from individual agents, but from their ongoing interaction with an evolving environment,” Mahadevan added.

Convicted Harvard Scientist Could Help China Make Super Soldiers

We’re living in the dumbest timeline. This week we learned that former chair of Harvard’s Chemistry Department Charles Lieber has defected to China. Now he could be helping the PLA make super soldiers. Cool cool cool.

Charles Lieber is a brilliant scientist. Fifteen years ago, Reuters named him the world’s top chemist.

But at some point he started working with China’s “thousand talents” program, the idea of which is to lull the big brains of the West into collaborative research that ultimately helps the CCP’s interests.

In 2021, Charles Lieber was convicted in the US for lying about his ties to China and hiding payments linked to the thousand talents program. His punishment was…just two days in prison, six months of house arrest, and a $50,000 fine.

Now, Lieber has resurfaced in Shenzhen, where he leads a state-backed high tech science lab.

This lab comes with cutting-edge nanofabrication tools, generous Chinese government funding, and even access to primate testing facilities. Harvard closed its primate testing facility a decade ago, due to ethical concerns. That’s why China is such an attractive place for scientists to work. No rules, baby! (Except to obey the CCP, obviously.)

The technology he’s working on in Shenzhen is brain-computer interfaces. My optimistic spin: These devices could help patients with ALS. My dystopian spin: The CCP will use this to create cognitively enhanced super soldiers.

This is the problem with collaborating with China on any research. All research becomes part of the CCP’s “military-civil fusion” strategy, where civilian breakthroughs can be used by the military. Your intentions don’t matter. The CCP is using you.

An example of this would be the NIH-funded gain-of-function research on coronaviruses in Wuhan. American scientists may have at first believed their research would help prevent the next global pandemic. Ha. Ha. Ha.

As for Charles Lieber, he may think that by defecting to China he can have a better life, and maybe he can even help make the world a better place. (We’re all the heroes of our own story.) But eventually, the CCP will use him, and toss him out with the trash. And it’ll be his own fault.

Insanity: Harvard Students Call Grading Reform Racist

In the latest Harvard left wing insanity Campus Reform is reporting “Harvard University students have launched a petition opposing a proposed grading reform, arguing the policy could have racially disparate impacts.”

This immature petition urges Harvard to reject this policy that would limit the amount of top grades given.

Harvard has been at the center of liberal protests and chaos.

Organizers of the petition “claim the policy would “mirror and reinforce existing racial and socioeconomic hierarchies,” according to the petition’s description.”

The policy was originally introduced by Harvard in order to “address grade inflation.”

“Professors would limit “flat A” grades to about 20 percent of students in a class, though there would be no cap on A-minus grades.”

Nothing about this is racist except to people who see the whole world through race.

“The plan follows internal data showing that more than 60 percent of grades awarded in 2025 were A’s, compared to roughly one-third in 2010.”

Student organizers sent an absurd letter “described the proposal as “blatantly racist” and warned it could increase competition among students.”

Proponents of grading reform at Harvard argue the changes would restore high academic standards and that grading should reflect academic performance not race or demographics.

Wokeness is unAmerican and has been rejected by the American public. Apparently Harvard is still grappling with this.

DEI has been rejected and is on its way out.

Harvard has apparently not received the memo!

We will see if Harvard caves to the leftist unreasonable grading demands.

Harvard Math Professor Martin Nowak Put on Leave After New Information About His Links to Epstein Surface

Ivy League university again reeling from Epstein ties.

Two days after Clinton Treasury Secretary Larry Summers announced his resignation from Harvard, where he once presided, another luminary scholar from the elite university is reaping consequences from an extended association with late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Today (27), news arose that math professor Martin Nowak, a man once called Jeffrey Epstein’s ‘inside man’ at Harvard, has been put on leave.

This comes after his college bosses learned ‘additional information’ about his links to the convicted sex offender.

The New York Post reported:

“Nowak, who was gifted $6.5 million by Epstein to create the now-closed-down Program for Evolutionary Dynamics (PED), will be the subject of a fresh probe investigating whether he breached the university’s conduct policies, according to a letter first revealed by the Harvard Crimson on Wednesday.

Martin Nowak is now the subject of a fresh Harvard University probe over his links with Epstein.”

Clinton’s Treasury Secretary Larry Summers To RESIGN From Harvard Over His Epstein Ties

Repercussions from Larry Summers’ Epstein connection escalate as he is about to sever ties with his alma mater.

We have been reporting on TGP (in fact, for over seven years) about the damaging ties between late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and former Treasury Secretary under Bill Clinton, Larry Summers.

But since last November, the world of the former Harvard president started to unravel rapidly, as you can read it in:

So, today (25), reports arise that Summers will resign from the University where he studied 50 years ago and rose to the presidency, over his Epstein dealings.

CBS News reported:

“Summers will retire at the end of the academic year but will remain on leave until then, a Harvard spokesperson said in a statement.

Summers stepped back from his public commitments in November after the release of messages between him and the late convicted sex offender. He also resigned from the board of AI company OpenAI and numerous other positions at such places as Bloomberg News, The New York Times, and the Center for American Progress.”

Big Law Is Yet Another Problem

Harvard Law Professor Larry Tribe was once the preeminent legal scholar in the country. The New York Times referred to him as a “legal icon” and “President Obama’s mentor.” New York Magazine called him “the nation’s foremost scholar of constitutional law.”

But in reality, Tribe is the archetype for the supposedly solemn legal practitioner who is merely a stooge for the Democratic Party establishment. The cast of lawyers maintain facades of jurisprudential seriousness, but beneath their suits there is a Bolshevik thirst for power.

Tribe began his work in this field nearly four decades ago when he testified against the nomination of Judge Robert Bork to the Supreme Court, calling Bork “hostile to individual rights and deferential to executive power.”

With time, however, Tribe’s dedication to unravelling the social fabric and destroying his political enemies became more apparent. He sought to upend property rights during the Covid response by supporting a CDC eviction moratorium. He later lobbied President Biden to unilaterally cancel student loans, though he never acknowledged if that would be considered “hostile to individual rights” or “deferential to executive power.” He later defended the Biden regime’s censorship of online dissent, writing that the proliferation of ideas would “make us less secure as a nation” and “endanger us all every day.”

Most recently, Professor Tribe joined a slew of the nation’s largest law firms in arguing that it is unconstitutional for public schools to divide their sports teams by sex. Behemoth law firms like Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP ($2.7 billion in annual revenue) and Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP ($1.6 billion in annual revenue) filed amicus briefs opposing West Virginia’s law limiting female sports to biological women.

Kathleen Hartnett, a partner at Cooley LLP ($2.1 billion in annual revenue), argued on behalf of the challenge to the law. Despite billing approximately $3,000 per hour to paying clients, she was unable to provide a definition of what it means “to be a man or woman, a boy or girl” when asked by Justice Samuel Alito.

This occurrence is no anomaly; Big Law fundamentally distorts the American legal system by offering billions of dollars in free legal services to unconstitutional crusades and liberal pet projects while denying access to any opposition group.

For example, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom (annual revenue $3.6 billion) dedicated approximately 40,000 pro bono hours to immigration cases in 2022 alone (accounting for at least $5 million in legal work) and has continued to oppose any form of deportations of illegal aliens. The firm dedicates millions in resources to advancing other left-wing causes, including affirmative action, the trans agenda, and a “fellowship” program that states its desire to expand access to food stamps, combat election integrity efforts, and support “sanctuary city laws.”

Big Law generally is much the same. Willkie Farr & Gallagher (annual revenue $1.5 billion) touts on its website that it served pro bono to support continued “surgical abortions” in Tennessee. In 2020, Law360 described how firms like Ropes & Gray (annual revenue $3.4 billion), Arnold & Porter (annual revenue $1.19 billion), and WilmerHale “jumped into court fights” to support mail-in voting gratis

Harvard Hires Divinity School Graduate Who Assaulted Israeli Classmate

The Harvard University student who faced criminal charges for assaulting an Israeli classmate during an anti-Israel “die-in” protest, Elom Tettey-Tamaklo, has a new job: He is a teaching fellow at… Harvard.

Tettey-Tamaklo, who was removed from his position as a proctor overseeing freshmen in the wake of the incident, began work as a “Graduate Teaching Fellow” at Harvard in August, according to his LinkedIn profile. He says he works to “advise faculty on curriculum design.”

Tettey-Tamaklo was the subject of intense scrutiny after he was caught on camera accosting a first-year Israeli business school student at an October 2023 “die-in” protest held outside of Harvard Business School. He was slapped with a misdemeanor assault and battery charge last May and ordered by a Suffolk County judge to take an anger management class and perform 80 hours of community service roughly a year later.

As that legal process played out, the Trump administration demanded Harvard expel Tettey-Tamaklo over the assault. Instead, Harvard hired him. Throughout the ordeal, the school never disciplined Tettey-Tamaklo or his compadre, Ibrahim Bharmal, and refused to cooperate with prosecutors in the case.

Teaching fellows at Harvard are typically paid a minimum salary that ranges from $3,400 to $11,040, according to Harvard’s graduate student union. They assist with courses, leading “sections,” grading exams, and offering office hours. The positions are generally awarded to Harvard-enrolled graduate students, meaning Tettey-Tamaklo may be pursuing a Ph.D. Tettey-Tamaklo graduated with a master’s degree from the divinity school in May, just weeks after he agreed to the pretrial diversion program in his assault case.

It’s unclear in which school Tettey-Tamaklo is serving as a teaching fellow; his LinkedIn profile only says the job is a “full-time” and “on-site” position at Harvard. It’s also unclear if he’s pursuing a Ph.D. at the divinity school.

Neither Harvard nor Tettey-Tamaklo responded to requests for comment.

Ex-Harvard President Larry Summers Flew on ‘Air Lolita’ With Epstein to ‘Pedo Island’ – TGP First Reported in 2019 – Economist for Clinton and Obama Now Investigated by DOJ

MSM today: Epstein flight manifesto shows Larry Summer went to ‘Pedo Island’ – TGP reported this in 2019.

Sick and tired of being the target of endless Jeffrey Epstein Democrat hoaxes trying to will into existence evidence of criminal activity by him that does not exist, US President Donald J. Trump ordered the DOJ to investigate the Dem icons who are actually guilty, as reported in: Just In – Trump Announces He Will Order Pam Bondi to Investigate Bill Clinton, J.P. Morgan, and Other Leftist People and Institutions’ Ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Attorney General Pam Bondi swiftly appointed SDNY US Attorney Jay Clayton to lead the process, as you can read on Here is The Prosecutor Assigned to the Epstein-Clinton Investigation

Among those investigated is former Harvard President Larry Summers, who was Bill Clinton’s Treasury secretary and the director of the National Economic Council under Barak Obama.

Talk about a liberal icon.

Today, it’s been reported that flight records show that Summers took a trip with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell to the infamous private Little St. James Island.

Kudos to the MSM, but in fact, this has already been reported in TGP since 2019, as you can read in EXCLUSIVE: Former Clinton and Obama Economist and Harvard President, Larry Summers, Took Flight to Epstein’s ‘Orgy Island’ on His Honeymoon.

Later, in August 2023, in a deposition by former JPMorgan executive Jes Staley, who was being sued by US Virgin Islands government, we learned that Jeffrey Epstein referred several high-profile individuals to the bank as potential clients, explicitly including Larry Summers (alongside Bill Gates and Sergey Brin).

Email Released by House Oversight Committee Shows Ex-Harvard President and Clinton’s Treasury Secretary Larry Summers Telling Epstein That ‘Women Are Less Intelligent Than Man’

Larry Summer showed his true colors to Epstein.

The Democrat representatives in the House Oversight Committee, that participate in the review of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation and prosecution, continue to try to ‘will into existence’ evidence of criminal activity by Donald J. Trump that’s just not there.

But in the treasure trove of email released by the Committee, a lot of

Take liberal icon, ex-Clinton Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers, for example: he was friends with Epstein until his death in 2019, and a surfaced email shows him ‘joking’ with the disgraced financier about ‘women being less intelligent than men’.

The New York Post reported:

“The emails have raised eyebrows, especially in academia circles, as Summers was President of Harvard University from 2001 until 2006.

‘I observed that half the IQ in world was possessed by women without mentioning they are more than 51 percent of population…’ Summers wrote to Epstein in an October 2017 email, without further context.”
