Comey Trashes President Trump in 5-Minute Rant, Says Taylor Swift Helps Him Cope with Trump

Former FBI Director James Comey once again trashed President Trump in a 5-minute rant posted to his Substack.

Comey said pop singer Taylor Swift, who appeals to tweens and juvenile women in their 30s, helps him deal with President Trump.

This is the same guy who once ran the most premiere law enforcement agency in the US.

Full Comey transcript:

Hey, everybody. Welcome back to my Substack. Last week’s cold turns out to have been COVID—quite a flashback. Donald Trump is still President and still humiliating America on a national stage, standing next to Vladimir Putin. It’s like a dream—a bad dream you can’t wake up from. But I don’t want to talk about that bad dream this week. I want to talk about a truly inspirational public figure named Taylor Swift.

Of course, I watched her podcast interview with the Kelsey Brothers. Of course, I watched the whole thing, although on YouTube, Patrice and I got kicked off for the last 15 minutes and finished it on her phone. But I watched it. You see, Taylor Swift and I go way back. I went to my first concert of hers 15 years ago. I’ve been to a second, and I have helped financially support the attendance of a lot of family members at others. I’m in a family Swiftie group chat. I know all her music, and I listen to it on my headphones when I cut the grass. So yes, I have a favorite of hers—although honestly, for me, it’s a tie between All Too Well, 10 Minute Version and Exile featuring Bon Iver.

Taylor Swift has grown up with my family and provided us a soundtrack, really, as we’ve grown ourselves and learned and adapted and dealt with adversity and celebration. She had songs for all of it. I suspect that’s something that millions of Americans have also experienced in their families. I think that’s because Taylor Swift produces great art, but also because she models something.

At every stage of her career, she’s shown a certain way of being that resonated with my kids and also felt right to me as a parent. She’s still doing that as a grown-up. Like a lot of you, I struggle with how to stand up to bullies without letting their meanness infect me and change me. You may have seen that the governor of California has been generating a lot of attention lately by posting on social media in a satirical way where he mocks Donald Trump and his all-caps megalomania and his absurdity. I find it very funny—hilarious even sometimes. But I’ve got to be honest, it also leaves me with a strange feeling at times, because I don’t want us to become like Trump and his followers. There are far more decent, honest, kind people in America than there are mean jerks.

Now, don’t get me wrong—we have our jerks, millions of them, you may have noticed. In particular, there’s a stunning coarseness and ugliness in the Republican Party today. It’s upsetting, but it’s also a minority of America. On the whole, we aren’t like that, and we don’t like that. I think that’s a big part of the reason so few Americans support Donald Trump when they have to see him up close, and why Republicans are so worried about what’s coming for them next year.

And to be clear, I am not an advocate for weakness. Of course, we need to stand up to jerks and defend what matters. But I think we have to try to do that without becoming like them, which is what makes me think about Taylor Swift. She’s made clear that she sees Donald Trump for what he is. And last year, she urged Americans not to make the serious mistake of electing him. Of course, we’re now living with the consequences of that mistake.

But while our elderly, makeup-covered President is posting about whether Taylor Swift is still hot and declaring that he can’t stand her, what’s she doing? Living her best life, producing great music, and—as she urged all of us to do during the podcast—not giving the jerks power over her mind.

She said something about dealing with internet trolls that stuck with me: Think of your energy as if it’s expensive. Think of it as a luxury item. Not everyone can afford it. I really enjoy reading Arthur Brooks, who writes columns about happiness in The Atlantic. I don’t know if he’s a Swiftie, but last week he wrote about research on the way that being rude or snarky actually hurts the rude person.

As he wrote: When you become less polite, the alteration in your conduct can make you less happy, more depressed, and angrier about life. I know you get that even without the research. Just watch Fox News or hang around on X, and you’ll see what he means. We can’t stop people from being jerks. What we can do is stop it from hurting us, from changing us.

At my second Taylor Swift concert in Hartford, Connecticut, 14 years ago this summer, she sang a song about this topic, asking: Why you gotta be so mean? And she spoke directly to the nasty people: I bet you got pushed around. Somebody made you cold. But the cycle ends right now, because you can’t lead me down that road.

You’ll be glad I didn’t sing that. That’s right—because down that road is unhappiness. Nobody should have that power over us.

Thank you, Taylor Swift. Keep the faith.

Reed College investigates security chief for giving FBI info on anti-ICE alum

Reed College’s director of community safety is under internal investigation for helping the FBI locate a recent graduate who allegedly threw a rock at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer, according to an open letter from its president to the campus community.

The private Portland, Oregon college’s actions have raised questions about student privacy as well as the college’s actions against its safety officer.

Gary Granger is still listed as the community safety director on the college’s website. However, an email that The Fix sent to Granger on Friday was returned with an automated response stating he is “currently out of the office.”

The college’s President Audrey Bilger announced an investigation into Granger’s actions after he gave information to the FBI “apparently without a subpoena or warrant,” according to her July 29 statement.

“Reed has established protocols and values, and we are initiating an investigation into this action and its impact on our standards and our community,” Bilger wrote. “Reed prioritizes the privacy and rights of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and all members of our community.”

She also wrote she understands concerns voiced by students and alumni about the incident, and “the college is treating this matter with the seriousness it warrants. Reed maintains clear policies and provides regular training to ensure that information is managed responsibly and in alignment with legal requirements and institutional values.”

DECLASSIFIED: FBI Was Investigating 19 Clinton Foundation Bank Accounts For Campaign Finance Fraud Before DOJ Shut Down Probe

A newly declassified FBI internal timeline reveals the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office was investigating 19 Clinton Foundation bank accounts for ‘campaign finance fraud’ in 2016 but the Justice Department shut down the probe.

Thanks to Judicial Watch, the American public was made aware of Hillary Clinton’s private email server.

Hillary Clinton conducted official business on a non-government server so she could hide her Clinton Foundation pay-to-play while she was head of the Department of State.

According to emails obtained by Judicial Watch, Hillary Clinton gave preferential treatment to Clinton Foundation donors while she was Secretary of State.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that a smoking-gun email from Obama’s Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates explicitly ordered FBI agents to shut down a criminal corruption probe into the Clinton Foundation.

Then-Deputy AG Sally Yates directly instructed the FBI to ‘shut down’ the Clinton Foundation investigation, effectively granting the Clintons immunity from further scrutiny during the 2016 election cycle.

Salky Yates ordered investigators to “Shut it down!”

Newly Declassified Clinton Foundation Investigation Timeline Reveals How Obama’s DOJ and FBI Protected Hillary, Buried Evidence of Global Pay-to-Play, and Rigged Justice Against the American People

A newly declassified timeline of the Clinton Foundation investigation shows a disturbing pattern of interference, obstruction, and outright protection of Hillary Clinton by Obama’s Department of Justice and FBI brass just as the 2016 election was heating up.

“FBI agents uncovered evidence of pay-to-play at the Clinton Foundation in 2016. DOJ leadership & McCabe ordered them to ‘Shut it down.’ We’ve now declassified the memo. This is proof of political interference at the highest levels,” FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X.

Just the News reported:

The timeline — written by a DOJ lawyer assigned to the FBI under former bureau Director James Comey — was recently secured by top aides to Patel along with several corroborating internal emails and was obtained by Just the News. Together, they make clear that both the DOJ and former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe placed significant impediments in front of agents who believed they had evidence to justify a public integrity criminal case.

The declassified timeline revealed that as early as February 2016, the Justice Department “indicated they would not be supportive of an FBI investigation.” The timeline also shows that, in mid-February 2016, McCabe ordered that “no overt investigative steps” were allowed to be taken in the Clinton Foundation investigation “without his approval” — a command he allegedly repeated numerous times over the coming months.

FBI, DOJ, Still Litigating to Prevent Release of Known Footage of Oklahoma City Bombing 30 Years Later

Utah Attorney Jesse Trentadue has spent 30 years litigating against the federal government, trying to uncover documents related to his brother’s likely murder by federal authorities on August 21, 1995.

Trentadue believes federal agents believed his brother was a federal agent who was involved in the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, 1995, and tortured him to death for information, wrongly believing he was “John Doe #2.” Kenneth Trentadue was a match for the description of the suspect, the same height, weight, build, and even the same dragon tattoo on his left forearm. Trentadue says it’s his belief that the motive behind his brother’s murder was that “The FBI was desperate to eliminate anyone who might link the Bureau to a failed sting operation that resulted in the Oklahoma City Bombing.”

A recent book by investigative journalist Margaret Roberts, “Blowback,” provides a lot of corroboration to the document effort that Trentadue has been engaged in for a generation. Trentadue claims he has litigated the release of 2 million pages of documents. He is currently suing to release an additional 67,000 pages linking the FBI’s undercover operatives to the failed sting operation that, he says, led to the Oklahoma City bombing.

He has not found the names of his brother’s killers, but he has committed himself to uncovering the illegal operations the government has used for over 30 years to entrap and oppress Americans, a program known as “PATCON.”

Exclusively with the Gateway Pundit, Trentadue has also started sharing key files that dramatically challenge the official and mainstream view as to the bombing of the Murrah federal building in April 1995.

Trentadue points out that the Department of Justice spent over $80 million prosecuting Timothy McVeigh for the bombing, but notably did not admit any of the known video evidence of the bombing.

The reason, Trentadue claims, is that multiple independent video evidence reveals the presence of a second bomber exiting the bomb truck prior to the explosion.

Roberts claims in her book, as well, that there may have been a third conspirator with the bombers on-site, and that likely accounts for the mystery of the unidentified severed leg found among the explosion, which has never been positively identified. The idea that there was a lone-wolf attack is wrong, she claims, and instead, there was a team involved in the planning and execution of the bombing.

For proof of this explosive claim, Trentadue provides evidence he has uncovered from the FBI’s own files indicating that they seized video surveillance footage of the Oklahoma City bombing.

The locations of at least one camera that captured the bombing were the 24-story Regency Tower Apartments or “RTA.” The Regency had a direct view to the bombing.

“Come Get Me, Kash… I Won’t Be Silent” — Eric Swalwell Lashes Out After Declassified FBI Docs Reveal He Was Likely Source of Leaks to Damage Trump Along with Adam Schiff

Newly declassified FBI records have fingered Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) as a likely conduit for damaging leaks aimed at undermining President Donald Trump, along with disgraced Rep. Adam Schiff.

According to the FBI’s own 302 interview summaries, now in the hands of Congress thanks to FBI Director Kash Patel, the whistleblower noted that “Rep. Swalwell has been the source of a lot of leaked information and had to be counseled to be more careful.”

According to Emmy-winning investigative journalist Catherine Herridge:

“I have obtained a newly declassified @FBI interview summary from 2017 about intelligence leaks from the Russia probes.

While the interview subject’s name is withheld, it appears to be a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

According to the FBI report known as a ‘302,’ (redacted) “noted Swalwell has been the source of a lot of leaked information and had to be counseled to be more careful.”

I have reached out to staff for @RepSwalwell congressman for comment.”

‘Shut it down’: Bombshell FBI timeline exposes political interference in Clinton corruption probe

FBI Director Kash Patel has uncovered a bombshell memo written in 2017 chronicling the extensive political obstruction that career agents in three cities faced from their own bosses and the Obama Justice Department during the 2016 election as they probed whether Hillary Clinton engaged in a pay-to-play corruption scheme involving her family foundation.

“Shut it down!” then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates is quoted as demanding in the detailed timeline of political impediments that agents in New York City, Little Rock, Ark., and Washington D.C. reported.

The agents tried to get the help of federal prosecutors to determine whether or what crimes occurred while Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State, most notably, because at that time, her family foundation solicited hundreds of millions of dollars from foreign and U.S. interests with business before her department.

Former FBI Chief Chris Wray Knew About Adam Schiff Leaking Classified Documents to Press but Did Nothing – It Was Just Another of Chris Wray’s Many Possibly Criminal Acts as FBI Director

On Monday, Just the News broke the news that a Democrat whistleblower told the FBI in 2017 that Adam Schiff okayed leaking classified documents with the intent to harm President Trump.

This same Democrat whistleblower told the FBI agents from the agency’s St. Louis office again in 2023 that he personally attended a meeting at which Schiff authorized leaking classified information.

The FBI brass did nothing. Chris Wray did nothing. The FBI under Chris Wray allowed these criminal acts to take place.

Chris Wray has a long record of allowing the bureau to engage in criminal acts under his direction.

Here are a few of Chris Wray’s notable lawless acts as FBI Chief.

President Trump Deploys 120 FBI Agents to Washington DC Streets to Combat Violent Crime and Carjackings

President Donald Trump has authorized the deployment of 120 FBI agents to the streets of DC to help local law enforcement fight crime.

The move to utilize the FBI for street crime comes amid Trump’s promise to make DC “one of the safest cities in America.”

This unprecedented step comes amid escalating concerns over public safety in the city, where residents and visitors alike have faced heightened threats under previous administrations’ lax policies.

The agents, primarily from the Washington Field Office, will be reassigned from counterintelligence and public corruption divisions to overnight patrol shifts with DC police officers, according to a report from The Washington Post.

This deployment is part of a broader federal initiative, with reports indicating that nearly 450 federal officers from agencies including the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Marshals Service, and the Park Police have been mobilized across the district.

Brother of Murdered Inmate Alleges FBI Role in OKC Bombing, Waco, and Decades of Domestic Spying, “Justice Will Come From Exposing PATCON”

A newly released book and an upcoming documentary are reviving attention on one of the FBI’s most secretive and controversial domestic spy programs known as “PATCON,” which was unmasked after a 30-year FOIA fight by Utah attorney Jesse Trentadue to prove his brother was murdered while in custody by federal agents in 1995.

Trentadue has uncovered, and is litigating to uncover, a total 2 million pages of documents so far. Two of his seven federal FOIA suits are still ongoing.

Trentadue is still litigating the release of government records from 1995, where his current case involves a request made in 2015 that the FBI sat on for 8 years and refused to respond to, involving records related to federal sting operations involving Timothy McVeigh from before the April 19, 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.

Yet his revealations to date has shown not just government lies about the Oklahoma City bombing, but also a domestic spying and criminal operations that extends into the nation’s newsrooms, courtrooms, centers of power, and more.

Despite new attention on the case and a wave of public interest in PATCON caused by the release of Margaret Roberts’ book “Blowback: The Untold Story of the FBI and the Oklahoma City Bombing” two weeks ago, Trentadue says he does not expect any federal agent or informant to face prosecution for his brother’s killing or for related crimes.

He’s hopeful, rather, that the documented evidence he has uncovered about FBI spying on the political right can be stopped, and that will be the most justice his family will ever find.
