Twitter censors prominent India Supreme Court lawyer for tweeting peer-reviewed study about mask ineffectiveness

Twenty-something Twitter employees with Starbucks lattes are now the authorities in law and science versus respected, long-time attorneys who have fought corruption their entire lives.

Mr. Prashant Bhushan is an Advocate-on-Record for the Supreme Court of India. He is one of few people allowed by law to plead for or against litigants before the country’s highest court. Mr. Bhushan could have made millions working as a corporate or civil lawyer. But instead he has worked as a human rights attorney helping those most in need. Mr. Bhushan’s distinguished career has led to 2.1 million Twitter followers and an engaged, international audience. Twitter did not get the memo.

The meta-analysis “Facemasks in the COVID-19 era: A health hypothesis” was published in the peer-reviewed journal Medical Hypotheses in November. Science Direct re-published the article in January. In other words, it isn’t even a “new” study, per se. Dr. Baruch Vainshelboim of the Cardiology Division, Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System/Stanford University, authored the study.

Kansas mayor resigns after threats over backing mask mandate

A western Kansas mayor announced her immediate resignation Tuesday because of threats she has received after publicly supporting a mask mandate.

Dodge City Mayor Joyce Warshaw said she was concerned about her safety after encountering aggression, including threats via phone and email, after she was quoted in a USA Today article Friday supporting a mask mandate, The Dodge City Globe reported.

“I understand people are under a lot of pressure from various things that are happening around society like the pandemic, the politics, the economy, so on and so forth, but I also believe that during these times people are acting not as they normally would,” Warshaw said.

The commission voted 4-1 on Nov. 16 to impose a mask mandate, with several exceptions.

Ford County, where Dodge City is located, has recorded 4,914 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began, according to the state health department. The county has about 33,600 residents.

Warshaw said despite the threats, she doesn’t regret voting in favor of the mask mandate.

YouTube Censors Coronavirus Roundtable Hosted by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis

Google-owned YouTube took down a video of a roundtable conference hosted by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), featuring former White House coronavirus task force member and medical scholar Scott Atlas, and the three co-authors of the Great Barrington Declaration.

The Great Barrington declaration argues that blanket lockdowns and mask mandates are counterproductive, instead advocating for a targeted approach focused on protecting vulnerable segments of the population.

The three co-authors, who attended Gov. DeSantis’ roundable, are Harvard professor of medicine Martin Kulldorff, Oxford professor of epidemiology Sunetra Gupta, and Stanford professor of medicine and epidemiologist Jay Bhattacharya.
