Prop 50 Passes: California Voters Approve Newsom’s Power Grab to Eliminate 5 Congressional Seats

As expected, California voters approved Prop 50 which could help the Democrats flip 5 congressional seats in 2026.

Thanks to ballot drop boxes, mail-in ballots, ballot harvesting, and illegal aliens, voters approved Newsom’s power grab to eliminate five GOP congressional seats through 2030.

“The five California Republicans targeted by the redistricting plan include Representatives Doug LaMalfa in District 1, Kevin Kiley in District 3, David Valadao in District 22, Ken Calvert in District 41, and Darrell Issa in District 48,” KCRA reported.

Earlier Tuesday, President Trump called the redistricting vote in California a “giant scam” and said it is under criminal review.

“The Unconstitutional Redistricting Vote in California is a GIANT SCAM in that the entire process, in particular the Voting itself, is RIGGED. All “Mail-In” Ballots, where the Republicans in that State are “Shut Out,” is under very serious legal and criminal review. STAY TUNED!” President Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Democrats Flip Two Georgia Seats Seen as Key Predictors for 2026 Midterms

Democrats flipped two Georgia seats that election analysts deemed key predictors for the 2026 midterms.

“Democratic candidates Alicia Johnson and Peter Hubbard, who ran for Georgia Public Service commissioner in Districts 2 and 3, respectively, have defeated GOP incumbents Tim Echols and Fitz Johnson,” the Hill reported on Tuesday.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the flip marks the first time since 2000 that Democrats won a Public Service Commission race.

Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin hailed the victories as a “direct response to Trump’s cost-raising agenda that is squeezing pocketbooks in Georgia and across the country.”

“Johnson and Hubbard won tonight’s Georgia Public Service Commissioner race by focusing on the issue that matters most to Georgians: lowering costs,” declared Martin.

Republicans still hold a 3-2 majority on the commissioner and went into Tuesday holding onto all five seats. Analysts say the results could be a harbinger of things to come in 2026.

“Republicans were able to stave off a challenge earlier this year in a special election for a Georgia Senate seat after Democrat Debra Shigley forced Republicans into a runoff during the general election for District 21. Republican Jason Dickerson ultimately won the seat in the runoff,” noted the Hill.

Virginia Democrats voted for a man who believes children should be murdered if their parents vote Republican.

Last month, the National Review released some of Jay Jones’ 2022 texts messages where he fantasized about shooting former Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert.

Jones was expressing his frustration with how Virginia political circles were eulogizing deceased moderate Democrat legislator Joe Johnson Jr.

Health Insurance Companies Spend Big To Support California’s Partisan Redistricting Fight

In Washington, Democrats continue to keep the federal government shut down, demanding an extension of enhanced Obamacare subsidies scheduled to expire on December 31. Half a continent away, two health insurers are helping to fund a partisan campaign by one of the country’s most prominent Democrats. Coincidence?

The political donations represent but one more example of how big corporations want to feather the nest of Big Government and bankroll the leftist politicians willing to expand the same. It’s also yet another reason why Congress should let the enhanced subsidies expire as scheduled.

Big-Money Donations

A September story in the Sacramento Bee discussing money raised for and against the state’s Proposition 50 ballot measure on congressional redistricting noted two sizable donations from health insurers — $500,000 from Blue Shield of California, and $75,000 from UnitedHealth, the nation’s largest insurer. The news raises numerous questions, starting with how the insurers could afford such large political contributions in the first place.

After all, as I have previously noted, a recent California law that went into effect in March requires insurers to engage in “cultural competency training” regarding the transgender agenda. Apart from the fact that such training — more like indoctrination — likely violates employees’ First Amendment rights and federal conscience protections, it could also prove costly for insurers.

On top of the new administrative costs from this new mandate, UnitedHealth faces expenses from last year’s hack of Change Healthcare, one of its affiliates, that caused chaos within the health care system for months. So where and how exactly did these insurers have the wherewithal to make such large contributions?

Partisan Affair

The related question focuses more on the specifics of Proposition 50 itself. The referendum doesn’t touch on a health care-related issue — or really any policy issue whatsoever. It’s a pure political power play by Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-CA, attempting to gerrymander more Democratic-leaning congressional districts in California to offset Republican gerrymanders in Texas and elsewhere. Why are health insurers getting involved in such overtly political activities?

In responding to questions from the Daily Wire, Blue Shield of California claimed that it made its donations to Newsom’s ballot measure committee before it knew that Proposition 50 would end up on the November ballot. That’s arguably true regarding its first $250,000 contribution, made on April 24. But by the time of its second $250,000 contribution on July 16, rumors had started swirling about actions by California to respond to redistricting efforts by Texas Republicans.

Blue Shield of California also told the Daily Wire that it contributes to lawmakers on a bipartisan basis. But after its $500,000 contribution to Newsom’s ballot measure campaign, its next-largest contributions were $50,000 to the California Democratic Party, and $20,000 to the LGBT Caucus Leadership Fund — all of which suggests its donations go overwhelmingly to Democrats in a state with de facto one-party rule.

The leader of this booze-soaked brigade of bellyaching baddies is none other than Jennifer Welch. She’s the woman who wants the entire Dem Party to get on board with the idea of killing conservatives. And the worst part is they probably will.

Oregon Dem Melissa Fireside declared international fugitive after fleeing US with young son, could be headed to Austria: authorities

An Oregon Democratic politician is now an international fugitive from justice after fleeing the country with her young son when she was charged with bilking an elderly man out of $30,000, authorities said.

Democrat Melissa Fireside, an ex-Clackamas County commissioner, crossed the border into Mexico on a fake passport and booked a ticket for Austria after going on the run with her 9-year-old son, Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield said Friday.

“Our top concern right now is the safety and well-being of this child,” Rayfield said.

“We are working closely with law enforcement partners here and at the federal level to locate Ms. Fireside and ensure she is held accountable under Oregon law.”

Fireside was free on conditional release while facing charges that she stole from her mom’s 83-year-old boyfriend when she disappeared, The Oregonian reported.

“No one should be able to evade justice by crossing a border,” he added.

Fireside was charged in March with aggravated theft, forgery and other crimes for allegedly ripping off retired Safeway employee Arthur Petrone, her mom’s beau, by applying for a loan using his name.

Petrone, who died in August, lived on his pension and Social Security payments.

Fireside pleaded not guilty at her arraignment and was allowed to remain free on the condition that she not leave the state and show up for court hearings.

However, the state justice department on Friday filed a motion to revoke Fireside’s bail after investigators determined that she wasn’t living at her Lexington, Oregon, home — a violation of the terms of her release, the attorney general said.

Giffords: Increase in Defensive Gun Uses ‘Must Be Stopped’

When I covered the WSJ’s hit piece on Stand Your Ground laws on Wednesday, I wondered if the reporters had any behind-the-scenes help from gun control activists. 

It’s not proof of anything, but since the story appeared online only one gun control group has promoted the story on X or Bluesk

The premise of the WSJ story is that Stand Your Ground laws have led to a 59% increase in the number of justifiable homicides in some states between 2019 and 2024, and that the law is allowing some folks to literally get away with murder. 

As we discussed yesterday, though, none of the anecdotal cases cited by WSJ in support of that premise are slam dunk examples of murders that were deemed justified as a result of SYG laws. The data set used by the paper is also suspect, since it did not include the significant number of states where Stand Your Ground exists in common law but not specifically in statute. 

There are only 11 states that impose a general duty to retreat before acting in self-defense. The vast majority of states don’t require you to present your back as a target to your attacker while you try to run away; instead, they allow you to act in self-defense so long as you have a reasonable belief of imminent death or great bodily harm. 

Stand Your Ground laws also aren’t really a new thing. Florida’s statute, for instance, has been in place for two decades. If the law automatically led to more unjustified shootings being deemed justifiable homicides by the courts, we would have expected to see that phenomenon occur long before 2020, but there’s no evidence that’s the case. 

We saw a huge spike in violent crime in 2020, along with a big spike in new gun owners. That’s the most likely reason for an increase in justifiable homicides since then; with more crimes being committed and more people carrying for self-defense, there are more occasions when legally armed citizens will use a firearm to defend themselves. That doesn’t mean, however, that people are getting away with murder just because they tell police that they were in fear for their lives. Every time a life is taken a police investigation is going to take place, and charges may very well be filed even when there’s evidence of self-defense. 

Even using the WSJ’s own flawed dataset, the percentage of homicides deemed justified in SYG states has climbed from about 2.8% in 2019 to 3.8% in 2024. We don’t know how many self-defense claims were raised in the 96.2% of homicides that were deemed murder, but we know the number isn’t “zero.” Stand Your Ground laws aren’t a “get-out-of-jail free” card for armed citizens, despite the slanted reporting from the WSJ and Gifffords’ wild suggestion that many or all of these justifiable homicides are actually murder.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent Calls Hakeem Jeffries “Ignorant” Following His False Statements Made About President Trump’s Meeting with Chinese President Xi 

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was on “Fox News Sunday” to discuss President Trump’s use of tariffs. He was also optimistic that the Supreme Court would side with President Donald Trump on emergency tariffs.

“What did and didn’t get accomplished when Presidents Trump and Xi met face to face?” Bream asked.

“What do you make of his characterization of what happened in China?” Bream referencing Rep Hakeem Jeffries’ inaccurate comments on President Trump.

“I think it’s ignorant, and I think it’s kind of sad he has no idea how ignorant he is, because I was in the room and I can tell you I was there for the President’s entire trip and it was a tour de force,” Bessent said.

“The President went into Malaysia, signed trade deals, peace deals with Thailand and Cambodia,” Bessent said.

“We moved onto Japan. The President and the new Prime Minister of Japan had great chemistry,” Bessent continued.

“The meeting with President Xi was one of great respect and many accomplishments,” Bessent said.

“What do you make of their characterization of you?” Bream asked regarding a Washington Post article referencing Chinese negotiators that may have upset him.

“Highly inaccurate and look we saw that Chinese manufacturing has been down for 7 months in a row. So, let’s do the math. The liberation day, April 2nd. Where are we today? November 2nd, seven months. Chinese manufacturing has been down every month,” Bessent said.

“Their trade with Europe is up 10 percent, but it’s all discounted. They’ve depreciated their currency and the Chinese economy, they are in the middle of a real estate crisis,” Bessent continued.

Secretary Bessent also talked about the rare earth minerals and explained that it has been a problem for many decades, and that the administration is working hard to become more independent in that area.

“We are going to be moving at warp speed,” Bessent said.

Newsom Claims Biden Is Fit to Serve — Then Says He “Hates When Politicians Lie to You”

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s latest appearance on Meet the Press showed exactly why Americans have lost faith in Democrat leadership. 

When asked what frustrates him most about politics, Newsom said, “There is nothing I dislike more than a politician who sits there and lies to you.” 

Moments later, he defended Joe Biden’s “fitness” to serve as president through 2029—despite overwhelming evidence that Biden is no longer capable of handling the job he already lost.

Since President Trump returned to the White House, the contrast between leadership and incompetence could not be more evident. 

Trump has rebuilt the economy, strengthened border security, and reasserted America’s role on the world stage. 

Meanwhile, Democrats like Newsom continue to defend Biden’s record of weakness and confusion, pretending that his failed presidency was a golden era. 

Newsom’s attempt to rewrite history is not loyalty—it’s deception.

Newsom pointed to a 2023 Oval Office meeting with Biden as proof of the former president’s competence. 

But Americans remember what really happened: a term defined by inflation, chaos at the border, and foreign policy disasters that emboldened America’s enemies. 

Biden’s June 2024 debate was a disaster—he appeared confused, frail, and unable to complete sentences.

His blank stares, missed cues, and incoherent answers shocked viewers nationwide, confirming fears that he lacked the mental and physical capacity to lead the country. It was a defining moment of collapse.

Even Democrats privately admitted it. Yet Newsom, ever the political opportunist, continues to praise Biden to protect his own ambitions for 2028.

Pelosi FLIPS OUT When President Trump Appears on Screen During Discussion on Schumer Shutdown

Trump broke Pelosi.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi flipped out as soon as President Trump appeared on the screen during her interview with Spectrum News on Friday.

Pelosi joined Spectrum News’ The Rush Hour with host Giselle Fernandez to discuss the ongoing government shutdown.

Friday was day 31 of the Schumer shutdown.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and the Democrats are holding Americans hostage and refusing to reopen the government because their priority is to give healthcare benefits to illegal aliens.

Pelosi called President Trump a “very, very dangerous man,” as she absurdly claimed he’s the worst president children in America have had in “our own history.”

As Pelosi yammered on, B-roll of Trump walking on the South Lawn of the White House appeared on the screen.

This angered Pelosi.

“He is the worst president for children! There he is walking! The worst! Hi!” Pelosi said waving to the screen.

She continued, “The worst president for anybody, any president in our history.”

Pelosi accused President Trump of taking food out of the mouths of babies after the Democrats voted 13 times to block government funding for SNAP benefits.
