It’s a clowny world…

The Democrats claim to be the opposition party, but they seek out Republicans, hate the left of their own party, and don’t seem to care if they lose the election.
“Biden’s slogan may as well be He’s Not Trump because that is all the Democrats had to say.”
The Democratic Party has ended any debate or dispute about its true nature. It is a party representing neo-liberal interests and international gangsterism, just like their putative opposition, the Republican party.
Even a cursory observation of the recent Democratic National Convention proves that this assessment is correct. There were paeans of love to the late warmonger John McCain and even an appearance from his widow. A special segment was set aside for Republicans like John Kasich whose speech was used in part to beat down progressives and make clear that Joe Biden wants nothing to do with them. Not to be outdone with Kasich and McCain’s ghost, war criminal Colin Powell was dragged out to put the bipartisan imperialist seal of approval on Biden.
The convention was high on production value but skimpy on details. Speaker after speaker repeated that Donald Trump is a very bad, terrible, awful, pandemic denier who cozies up to dictators. They didn’t say how they would undo his evil deeds or make life better for the average person in this country. The awful Biden slogan of Build Back Better is meaningless. That of course is why they use it. The slogan may as well be He’s Not Trump because that is all the Democrats had to say.
“War criminal Colin Powell was dragged out to put the bipartisan imperialist seal of approval on Biden.”
Of course the truth can’t be hidden for long. Ted Kaufman was Biden’s Senate chief of staff and successor after he became vice president. He now heads the Biden transition team. Kaufman told the Wall Street Journal that no one should expect increases in government spending should Biden win. “When we get in, the pantry is going to be bare. When you see what Trump’s done to the deficit…forget about Covid-19, all the deficits that he built with the incredible tax cuts. So we’re going to be limited.” Government spending is exactly what people in this country need to recover economically. Yet they are told to expect nothing of the sort. More austerity is coming our way regardless of the electoral outcome.

The political and moral bankruptcy of the Democratic Party was on full display last week. First it was the convention of the Democratic Party, where the progressive wing of the party was pushed to the margins while the victorious, neoliberal right wing engaged in a surreal spectacle that came off oblivious to the economic, social and political crisis the country has been experiencing. The second thing that happened was the emergency reconvening of the U.S. House of Representatives to “save the post office.”
On the night Kamala Harris accepted the nomination as vice president, the Democratic Party devoted itself to demonstrating it was more militantly aggressive in its commitment to military threats, in the use of force and in reclaiming the U.S. global dominance that Trump supposedly has squandered. Neocons from the Republican Party also spoke to assure the country Joe Biden would commit to a stronger NATO, to completing the military pivot to Asia, and to standing up to the demon of the moment—Vladimir Putin.
The inspiring stories of democratic renewal and of happy days being just around the corner once Joe is in office seemed strangely disconnected from the fact that Congress had gone on vacation, leaving millions in economic limbo because the federal enhanced unemployment benefit had expired. Yet the House was called back by Nancy Pelosi not to pass a bill to end the confusion around extended unemployment and to protect against evictions, but to save the postal service so nothing would get in the way of electing the political class.
The racism, militarism, and materialism that Dr. King warned would be the diseases that would kill the body politic of the United States have created a zombie democracy.
War, the political betrayal of the working class, and an inane political posturing in the face of an intractable crisis are the politics of a society beyond salvation.
The Democratic National Convention heavily promoted the conspiracy theory that President Trump is dismantling or undermining the postal service in an attempt to suppress the vote or undermine the presidential election in November. Democrats clearly don’t want in-person voting in November, despite the high risk of fraud with mail-in voting.
While Democrats are trying to make people afraid to vote in person, the experts are saying it can be done safely.

The lesser of two evils is still evil.
The last time the American people were allowed to see more than two candidates for president on television was in 1992 when Ross Perot was allowed on stage with Democrat Bill Clinton and incumbent Republican President George H.W. Bush. Perot ran as an independent, financing his own campaign and shook up American politics. He received more than 19 million votes as a result of being allowed on that stage with Bush and Clinton.
Perot wound up with about 19% of the vote in an election that Clinton won by 6 points over Bush. The fact that Perot was able to garner so much support was a direct result of his presence in the national televised debates. Naturally, the idea of a third party stealing votes from one of the major parties is a threat to the establishment.
In 1987, Democrats and Republicans unanimously agreed to form the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) which is a nonprofit corporation established with bipartisan support. The CPD’s formation was directly recommended by the bipartisan National Commission on Elections to turn “over the sponsorship of presidential debates to the two major parties.”
The CPD was chaired by heads of the Democratic and Republican parties, Paul G. Kirk and Frank Fahrenkopf and at a press conference in 1987, they both had no problem admitting that this commission was formed to essentially exclude third party candidates.
Tens of millions of people are unemployed, tens of millions more are facing eviction, all the while the politically connected elite have increased their wealth by hundreds of billions. As the .01% use government as their tool to fleece the masses, the masses bare the brunt of the debt, which has exponentially increased by a record 3 TRILLION in just the last five months.
“But if Trump gets re-elected we will make America great,” right? Or, “if Biden and Kamala win, we can finally have nice things,” right? Wrong. The reality of the situation is that no matter who gets elected, these politicians have already made a Faustian bargain to keep the police and warfare state in power.
State Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) and Assemblywoman Susan Eggman (D-Stockton) introduced recent legislation “to end blatant discrimination against LGBT young people regarding California’s sex offender registry.”
However, under their bill, SB 145, the offenders would not have to automatically register as sex offenders if the offenders are within 10 years of age of the minor.
Wiener claims the current law “disproportionately targets LGBT young people for mandatory sex offender registration, since LGBT people usually cannot engage in vaginal intercourse.”
Existing law, the Sex Offender Registration Act, amended by Proposition 35 by voters in 2012 (Ban on Human Trafficking and Sex Slavery), requires a person convicted of a certain sex crime to register with law enforcement as a sex offender while residing in California or while attending school or working in California.
In the second day of its national convention, the Democratic Party officially nominated Joe Biden as its candidate for president in the 2020 election. Overall, the four-day event has been a highly scripted act of political theater, full of trite clichés and empty rhetoric.
The most notable element of yesterday’s proceedings was the decision to feature remarks from former general Colin Powell and a video highlighting the “unlikely friendship” between Biden and former Republican presidential candidate and Senator John McCain.
A Biden/Harris administration, the Democrats emphasized, would be prepared to wage war.
In his remarks, Powell, who served as Secretary of State under the administration of George W. Bush, declared that Biden, as “commander-in-chief,” will “trust our intelligence agencies” and “stand up to our adversaries with strength and experience. They will know we mean business.”
Powell will forever be associated with the lies manufactured by the Bush administration to justify the 2003 invasion of Iraq. On February 5, 2003, Powell appeared before the United Nations to claim that the Iraqi government was stockpiling “weapons of mass destruction”—a claim that was false and he knew was false. It was the climax of the Bush administration’s campaign to justify an unprovoked invasion of Iraq, a horrific war crime that led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and destroyed one of the most advanced societies in the Middle East.
