Only ‘braindead’ believe WhatsApp is secure – Durov

Pavel Durov, the Russian tech entrepreneur who created the Telegram messenger app,  has claimed there is no doubt WhatsApp lacks any meaningful privacy, after its parent company was hit with a new lawsuit.

In a major class-action lawsuit filed against Meta Platforms, Inc. in a US district court last week, an international group of plaintiffs from countries including Australia, Brazil and India has accused the company of making false claims about the privacy of its WhatsApp service.

“You’d have to be braindead to believe WhatsApp is secure in 2026,” Durov posted on X on Monday, mocking suggestions that Meta cannot read users’ messages. “When we analyzed how WhatsApp implemented its ‘encryption’, we found multiple attack vectors.”

The lawsuit challenges the cornerstone of WhatsApp’s privacy promise: its default end-to-end encryption, which uses the Signal protocol. The plaintiffs allege that, contrary to its in-app claim that “only people in this chat can read, listen to, or share” messages, Meta and WhatsApp “store, analyze, and can access virtually all of WhatsApp users’ purportedly ‘private’ communications.” The complaint cites unspecified whistleblowers as the source of this information.

Virginia Democrats Now Seeking to Double Their Own Pay as They Raise Taxes, After Running on ‘Affordability’

Democrats in Virginia ran on affordability, but everything they have done since retaking power there says the exact opposite.

The tax rate in Virginia is poised to become the highest in the nation, beating even California, and they are trying to create a slew of new taxes.

Now, they are trying to give themselves a pay raise that is basically double what they already make.

NewsBusters reports:

Va. Dems Seek to More than Double Their Pay – While Rushing to Impose Flurry of New Taxes

After campaigning on “affordability,” Virginia state Democrats have introduced a measure to more than double their salaries, now that fellow Democrat Abigail Spanberger is in the Governor’s Mansion, giving them control of all three branches of their state’s government.

“Virginia Democrats are now trying to give themselves a PAY RAISE after proposing thousands of dollars in new taxes hammering working families, the Virginia Senate Republican Caucus warned in a X.com post highlighting how the legislators’ pay raise would hurt taxpayers:

“They ran on ‘affordability,’ but all they’ve done is introduce insane left-wing policies and take from your pocket to line their own. TOTAL CON JOB!”

Indeed, an amendment to the Virginia state budget (SB30), introduced by Democrats L. Louise Lucas in the state Senate and Vivian Edna Watts in the House of Delegates, would more than double their salaries, raising the pay in both chambers by about 150%.

What have these people done to earn a pay raise? They’ve been in power for like ten minutes.

Trump’s Greenland Gambit Pays Off

President Trump arrived in Davos with one item on his mind: Greenland.  The goal was to make a bid for the ice-covered landmass, which is so valuable to the United States from both a geopolitical and financial standpoint.  At the crossroads of the Arctic, the great “piece of ice,” as our President endearingly labeled it, is situated at a crucial intersection for trade and military operations.  It can provide a great strategic boost to any superpower which claims it, a reason for President Trump’s strong campaign to acquire it, and on the flipside of that, a reason for Chinese and Russian warships becoming an increasingly common sight off its coastline.

Greenland also has tactical utility: intercontinental missiles from any of the aforementioned nations may use Greenland as a strategic outpost for launching them.  Likewise, drones.  Its close proximity to the United States thus heightens the stakes for modern technological warfare if any of the other powers were to claim it for themselves.  While President Trump may have backed away from deploying troops to acquire Greenland by force, instead resorting to diplomacy, if heaven forbid China or Russia, and not our ally in Denmark, should claim this land for themselves, a military option for acquisition would then not only be revived, but perhaps foregone.

Thus, the strong campaign for Greenland is a rare example of an American leader responding to an evolving world order and mapping out a long term strategy in real time.  While the United States is enjoying something of a renaissance under the second Trump administration, Europe continues to languish.  By every metric, European strength, relative to the United States, depreciated exponentially over the last two decades, a trend forecasted to only accelerate in the years ahead.  Europe and the United States may be partners, but the union forged between them today is not that of co-equals.  President Trump knows this; based on similar principles, he understands that it is no longer realistic for Greenland to be managed by a country that has not been geopolitically significant in at least four centuries.

Then there are the resources.  Greenland, which is more than three times the size of Texas and five times that of California, is teeming with natural riches: from rare earths to precious metals to natural gas.  In this respect, it can be an economic windfall for the United States, a benefit that if annexed for Uncle Sam would accrue to the rest of the world as well.  This is because only the United States possesses the technological know-how and manpower to penetrate Greenland’s rough and lifeless tundra that stretches on for miles.  Denmark lacks the requisite drilling equipment; it also lacks the ability to secure the landmass militarily or otherwise.  Already, it has long managed Greenland in a semi-dependent partnership with the United States and other nations.  It is about time that it abdicates its role to greater powers, recognizing that the United States is the clear regional hegemon, and only it can maximize Greenland’s potential, with its vast mineral resources, and stave off hungry competitors like China or Russia in the process.

Beyond the economic upside, Greenland also symbolizes President Trump’s renewal of the Monroe Doctrine: a reinvigorated United States willing to defend its hemisphere responsibly, with a peace through strength foreign policy approach grounded in realism.  This is a gritty philosophy that aptly recognizes power dynamics for how the world is, not how liberals and globalist technocrats would like it to be.  The ideology of globalism, paired with its promise of a new world order, had long deluded European leaders into thinking borders were no longer necessary, human conflict had been permanently abolished, and that Europe could indefinitely profit off American industry, goods, and services, while never having to pay anything remotely close to a fair share in return.

Nine Bureaucracies Walk Into Your Browser and Ask for ID

By the time you’re reading this, there’s a decent chance that somewhere, quietly and with a great deal of bureaucratic back-patting, someone is trying to figure out exactly how old you are. And not because they’re planning a surprise party.

Not because you asked them to. But because the nine horsemen of the regulatory apocalypse have decided that the future of a “safe” internet depends on everyone flashing their ID like they’re trying to get into an especially dull nightclub.

This is the nightmare of “age assurance,” a term so bloodlessly corporate you can practically hear it sighing into its own PowerPoint.

This is a sprawling, gelatinous lump of biometric estimation, document scans, and AI-ified guesswork, stitched together into one big global initiative under the cheery-sounding Global Online Safety Regulators Network, or GOSRN. Catchy.

Formed in 2022, presumably after someone at Ofcom had an especially boring lunch break, GOSRN now boasts nine national regulators, including the UK, France, Australia, and that well-known digital superpower, Fiji, who have come together to harmonize policies on how to tell whether someone is too young to look at TikTok for adults.

The group is currently chaired by Ireland’s Coimisiún na Meán.

This month, this merry band of regulators released a “Position Statement on Age Assurance and Online Safety Regulation.”

We obtained a copy of the document for you here.

Inside this gem of a document is a plan to push shared age-verification principles across borders, including support for biometric analysis, official ID checks, and the general dismantling of anonymity for the greater good of child protection.

ICE Takes Out the Trash Tim Walz Ignored, 3,400 Murderers, Rapists, and Gangsters Removed

An ICE official said federal agents are carrying out an ongoing operation in Minnesota focused on arresting dangerous criminal illegal aliens to prevent further harm to local communities, pushing back against what he described as efforts by politicians, activists, and the media to create fear and confusion.

Marcos Charles said the operation is centered on public safety and removing individuals with serious criminal histories from Minnesota communities.

He criticized what he described as deliberate chaos driven by sanctuary politicians and activists, arguing that it undermines community trust and obscures the purpose of enforcement actions.

“When sanctuary politicians, activists and the media work hard to create chaos and fear instead of using their platforms to reassure their communities, this is the result,” Charles said.

Charles said the goal of the operation is straightforward: arrest criminal illegal aliens so they cannot continue to victimize innocent people.

He said the effort has been ongoing throughout the week and has already resulted in thousands of arrests statewide.

“The reality is, and this is what commander Bovino and I have been talking about all week. All week, we’re out here to arrest dangerous criminal illegal aliens so they can’t victimize innocent people in our communities anymore,” Charles said.

Neonatal Nurse Pleads No Contest to 9 Charges of Abusing Infants – Will Serve Disgraceful Sentence Despite Damning Video Evidence

A former nurse made a plea agreement, pleading no contest after a slew of child abuse charges were brought against her.

Erin Strotman, 27, worked in the neonatal intensive care unit at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, where from 2022 through 2024, she allegedly inflicted harm on nine children, adding up to 20 charges.

Judge Richard Wallerstein Jr. accepted the plea deal, which includes a maximum sentence of three years in prison despite such heinous crimes.

KVVU-TV reported the prosecution showed footage in court of Strotman “placing her full body weight on the infant who was crying in distress.” The case against her began in late 2024 when hospital staff found three pre-term babies had bone fractures that couldn’t be explained.

Strotman is currently on house arrest until her sentencing in June.

She cannot work as a nurse or in healthcare again, nor work around children or vulnerable adults.

Henrico Commonwealth’s Attorney Shannon Taylor commented on the case and vowed to achieve justice for the families of these children.

“I have always made it a priority to ensure that we would be able to ask the Court to hold Erin Strotman accountable for all of the families being impacted,” she said.

“We made a promise to these families that we would continue to work on this matter, and I intended for us to keep that promise.”

Media Claim: “ICE Drags Citizen in the Snow in His Underwear,” But There Is More to the Story

On January 18, 2026, ICE arrested ChongLy “Scott” Thao in St. Paul, Minnesota. The incident went viral because of footage showing Thao, a 56-year-old naturalized U.S. citizen, being led from his home in sub-freezing weather wearing only underwear and sandals with a small blanket over his shoulders.

The Thao family states that ICE agents forced their way in without a warrant, pointed guns at the family, including a 4-year-old, and refused to look at Thao’s ID. They claim he was driven to a remote location, photographed and fingerprinted, and only returned home after agents realized he was a citizen.

The facts are very different from the family’s claims and the media framing. First off, the agents had a warrant. They were using an administrative warrant rather than a judicial warrant, which is consistent with new ICE directives.

Under the directive signed by Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, ICE has been instructed that administrative warrants (Form I-205) are now considered sufficient for residential entry. If an individual with a final order of removal is believed to be inside and refuses to open the door, agents are authorized to use a necessary and reasonable amount of force to enter.

DHS described it as a targeted operation for two convicted sex offenders, Kongmeng Vang and Lue Moua. The reason agents used a battering ram to break in was because, according to the Associated Press, a family member alerted Thao that agents were banging on the door, but he told them not to open it.

Agents drew their weapons because the targets were dangerous criminals. Moua is described as “a violent illegal alien sexual offender” and a “child predator,” while Vang is described as a “criminal illegal alien” from Laos with a 2016 removal order and a history involving sexual assault and gang activity.

Because Thao matched the physical description of one of the targets, ICE protocol required agents to use a new mobile biometric app, Mobile Fortify, which captures fingerprints and facial photographs to verify identity. However, Thao refused. Consequently, he was taken into custody, photographed and fingerprinted, and then returned home.

Commenters on social media are outraged that Thao was taken out of the house in his underwear. However, there is no indication that agents stripped him. He was apparently already in his underwear when agents arrived. The half-naked aspect and the use of force are consistent with High-Risk Entry protocols. If agents believe a suspect is a convicted sex offender, they prioritize speed and tactical dominance over the suspect’s comfort.

EXPOSED: Walz-Linked Radicals Running an ICE-Hunting Ring Like a Criminal Cartel

An online commentator known as PatriotDadEV2.0 is drawing renewed attention to allegations that a sophisticated and well-funded network has infiltrated the Minneapolis ICE Watch Signal chat, following disclosures by investigative journalist Cam Higby that are now circulating widely on X.

According to PatriotDadEV2.0, Higby obtained access to internal Signal chat conversations tied to the Minneapolis ICE Watch network and began releasing material publicly earlier this week.

The disclosures, PatriotDadEV2.0 said, include screen recordings showing the group’s member lists, which investigators and independent researchers have since analyzed.

“Yesterday, investigative journalist cam Higby began releasing information obtained after infiltrating the Minneapolis ice Watch Signal chat conversations, and the information that he has found and released to the public is absolutely incredible,” PatriotDadEV2.0 said.

“He began by releasing screen recordings of their members list, and investigators over on X have been taking that list and researching who these people are when they’ve decided to use their real names.”

PatriotDadEV2.0 claimed that the individuals identified through this process include elected officials, media figures, and people allegedly connected to Minnesota’s highest levels of government.

“We’re talking about local politicians. We’re talking about national journalists, and yes, even people connected directly to Governor Walz himself,” he said.

President Trump formally calls on Congress to pass law banning sanctuary cities amid Minneapolis ICE riots

President Donald Trump issued a fiery statement amid the turmoil and unrest facing Minnesota in the wake of the anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protests.

Accusing Democratic officials of refusing to cooperate with ICE while providing illegal migrants sanctuary, President Trump formally called on the U.S. Congress to immediately pass legislation to end sanctuary cities, which he called “the root cause” of all of illegal immigration problems.

In a statement to Truth Social, the president called on the state’s Democratic Gov. Tim Walz, Minneapolis Democrat Mayor Jacob Frey, and every other Democrat mayor and governor to “formally cooperate” with the Trump administration to enforce immigration laws rather than “resist and stoke the flames” of division, chaos, and violence.

“During the four years of Crooked Joe Biden and Democrat failed leadership, Tens of Millions of Illegal Alien Criminals poured into our Country, including Hundreds of Thousands of Convicted Murderers, Rapists, Kidnappers, Drug Dealers, and Terrorists,” the president wrote Sunday.

He then touted his 2026 “landslide” victory and Republican congressional majorities as evidence that the American people want border security. Likewise, he added that deportations have been running “peacefully and smoothly” in Republican-run states, with over 150,000 people having been arrested by ICE in Texas, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Louisiana with “zero protests, riots, or chaos.”

The president then stated that Democrat-run sanctuary cities and states have been refusing to cooperate with ICE, accusing them of “encouraging Leftwing Agitators to unlawfully obstruct” ICE operations.

Rioter Arrested After Laying Traps to Disable ICE Vehicles

The Department of Homeland Security has announced the arrest of an anti-ICE agitator who was reportedly using caltrops to deflate federal vehicles.

The individual was apparently detained after obstructing law enforcement by employing homemade tire deflating devices. The objects were constructed using hose and large screws. Officials found a bag full of the devices in the individual’s possession during the arrest.

One individual online reported that MS Now briefly showed some of the caltrops in the roadway, but quickly cut away without mention.

Independent reporter Andy Ngo, who has widely covered riots in far-left cities, claimed on X that this move was ripped directly from the Antifa playbook.

“The rioters in Minnesota are using the Antifa tactics from 2020,” Ngo said on X. “Antifa distribute[d] guides on making these sharp nail devices. They were regularly thrown across streets in Portland to slow down [Portland police].
