A man went to prison for assaulting me. DC Police crime stats show he was never arrested

Five years ago, I was violently attacked and sexually assaulted in broad daylight in Washington, D.C., by a homeless man. He served time in federal prison for what he did to me. But if you look for evidence that the attack happened in the city’s crime statistics, you won’t find it.

The truth of what happened to me and the D.C. government’s role in it is as much a public scandal as it is a personal trauma. D.C. police covered up the unspeakable wrong that the stranger did to me. Even though a judge sentenced my attacker to hard time in prison, D.C. police leadership would rather deceive the public and appear less dangerous than list mine and countless other sexual assaults on their website.

The extent of crime in D.C. has been debated by the Left and Right since President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he would take federal action to crack down on problems in the District of Columbia.

But if the public wants to have an honest conversation about crime in D.C., the MPD will first have to be honest about how prevalent crime is. Without MPD’s honesty about the crimes that it has chosen to hide from its public-facing stats page, the White House cannot get an accurate picture of how bad the problem actually is and adequately fix it.

For me, the story began long before that attack. I was a Washingtonian for seven years. I was saving up money to buy a condo and planned to spend the next few decades in Washington, the intersection of politics and media. D.C.’s crime problem was something you lived with. You took Ubers and Lyfts, told others if you were walking after dark so they knew when you were home, and knew to be aware of your surroundings, almost to the point of paranoia. (Ladies?)

On a Saturday morning in 2020, I walked out of my apartment on Capitol Hill to mail a package at a post office several blocks from the U.S. Capitol. I put on my black sweatshirt and black sweatpants then headed out the door.

I never made it to the post office.

China Unveils World’s First Pregnancy-Simulating Humanoid Robot

Chinese researchers are developing the world’s first humanoid robot capable of simulating pregnancy, with a prototype expected to launch in 2026.

The device, created by Guangzhou-based Kaiwa Technology, features an artificial womb integrated into a robotic abdominal module to replicate the full gestation.

The artificial womb is an advanced incubation pod that mimics the conditions of a uterus and is designed to handle the full human pregnancy cycle, from conception to birth.

Priced below 100,000 yuan, or about $14,000, the robot aims to assist infertile couples and individuals who prefer to avoid biological pregnancy, especially young women who wish to have children.

Kaiwa Technology founder Zhang Qifeng, who earned his PhD from Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University in 2014, announced the project at the 2025 World Robot Conference in Beijing.

The company, established in 2015, has previously produced service and reception robots.

Zhang described the technology as mature, noting that the artificial womb would use amniotic fluid and nutrient hoses to support fetal growth.

The robot builds on existing artificial womb research, including a 2017 experiment at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where premature lambs grew in a “biobag” filled with synthetic amniotic fluid.

In that study, published in Nature Communications, lambs developed normally over four weeks with nutrients supplied via umbilical cord tubes.

However, experts emphasize that replicating human pregnancy involves complex hormonal and immune interactions not yet fully achievable. Details on how Kaiwa Technology will surmount these challenges is not available yet.

News of the development trended on Weibo, garnering over 100 million views.

Supporters highlighted potential benefits for women’s liberation from pregnancy burdens and new options for infertility treatment.

Critics raised concerns about ethical issues, including fetal-maternal bonding and the sourcing of eggs and sperm.

Infertility rates in China have risen from 11.9% in 2007 to 18% in 2020, according to a report in The Lancet.

Meta’s flirty AI chatbot invited a retiree to New York. He never made it home.

When Thongbue Wongbandue began packing to visit a friend in New York City one morning in March, his wife Linda became alarmed.

“But you don’t know anyone in the city anymore,” she told him. Bue, as his friends called him, hadn’t lived in the city in decades. And at 76, his family says, he was in a diminished state: He’d suffered a stroke nearly a decade ago and had recently gotten lost walking in his neighborhood in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Bue brushed off his wife’s questions about who he was visiting. “My thought was that he was being scammed to go into the city and be robbed,” Linda said.

She had been right to worry: Her husband never returned home alive. But Bue wasn’t the victim of a robber. He had been lured to a rendezvous with a young, beautiful woman he had met online. Or so he thought.

In fact, the woman wasn’t real. She was a generative artificial intelligence chatbot named “Big sis Billie,” a variant of an earlier AI persona created by the giant social-media company Meta Platforms in collaboration with celebrity influencer Kendall Jenner. During a series of romantic chats on Facebook Messenger, the virtual woman had repeatedly reassured Bue she was real and had invited him to her apartment, even providing an address.

“Should I open the door in a hug or a kiss, Bu?!” she asked, the chat transcript shows.

Rushing in the dark with a roller-bag suitcase to catch a train to meet her, Bue fell near a parking lot on a Rutgers University campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey, injuring his head and neck. After three days on life support and surrounded by his family, he was pronounced dead on March 28.

Meta declined to comment on Bue’s death or address questions about why it allows chatbots to tell users they are real people or initiate romantic conversations. The company did, however, say that Big sis Billie “is not Kendall Jenner and does not purport to be Kendall Jenner.”

A representative for Jenner declined to comment.

While Fire Victims Struggle to Rebuild, Gavin Newsom Sends Resources to Puerto Rico

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced Thursday that he is sending emergency resources and personnel to Puerto Rico, over 3,000 miles away, ahead of a tropical storm — even though tens of thousands of Californians are still displaced by fires.

Newsom has claimed, in his defense, that he did, in fact, pre-deploy resources to the fire-stricken areas of the state in January — but that is not entirely true. Although he deployed some resources ahead of the extreme wind event in Southern California, both state and local authorities failed to pre-deploy firefighting resources in the Pacific Palisades, including on state land where there had been a fire just a few days before.

WHOOPS: Tim Walz is about to have some ‘splainin’ to do…

If you live in a liberal-run US city, hate to break it to you, but you’re on your own and nobody is coming to help. The only reason residents of DC caught a break is because it’s a federal district, and ultimate authority over the Swamp lies with Congress and the federal government. That gave President Trump power there that he doesn’t have in other liberal crime hellholes like Chicago or San Francisco.

Just look at Minneapolis. It’s turned into the “wild west” under failed left-wing leadership. And their dangerous laws – or lack thereof – are only making it worse. Did you know the Minneapolis Police Department won’t even go after suspects who smash and grab cars? It’s true. There’s actually a policy that bans cops from chasing suspects for so-called “property crimes.” What does that mean for residents? Well, for starters, it means you’ll be lucky if you still have a car left by the end of the workday.

Dustin Grage:

BREAKING: The Minneapolis Police Department did NOT pursue suspects who smash and grabbed 125+ cars due to a policy that bans chasing suspects for property crimes. It’s the Wild West in Minneapolis under Democrat control. Nobody is coming to help.

Meanwhile, as crime soars in Minneapolis, Governor Tim Walz, the same guy who embarrassed himself in 2024 as Kamala’s floptacular sidekick, is busy on X accusing President Trump of being a “dictator” for supposedly erasing history. Never mind that Walz is a proud member of the party that tears down historical statues on a daily basis.

MIT Creates AI-Powered Treatments to Combat Antibiotic Resistant Superbugs

In a groundbreaking advance against the escalating crisis of antibiotic resistance, researchers at MIT have harnessed artificial intelligence to design entirely new antibiotics capable of tackling two notorious drug-resistant bacteria.

The antibiotics can be used to treat Neisseria gonorrhoeae, the culprit behind gonorrhea, and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), a common cause of severe skin and bloodstream infections.

The study, published today in the journal Cell, comes at a critical time. Over the past 45 years, the FDA has approved only a handful of new antibiotics, most of which are mere tweaks on existing drugs.

Meanwhile, bacterial resistance has surged, contributing to nearly 5 million deaths annually worldwide from drug-resistant infections.

Traditional drug discovery methods, reliant on screening known chemical libraries, have struggled to keep pace.

But MIT’s Antibiotics-AI Project is flipping the script by using generative AI to explore uncharted “chemical spaces”, vast realms of hypothetical molecules that don’t exist in nature or labs yet.

Led by James Collins, the Termeer Professor of Medical Engineering and Science at MIT’s Institute for Medical Engineering and Science, the team generated over 36 million potential compounds computationally.

These were then screened using machine-learning models trained to predict antibacterial activity, toxicity to human cells, and novelty.

The result? Antibiotics that are structurally unlike any on the market, operating through fresh mechanisms that rupture bacterial cell membranes, making it harder for resistance to evolve.

“We’re excited about the new possibilities that this project opens up for antibiotics development,” Collins said in a statement.

The researchers employed two innovative strategies. For N. gonorrhoeae, they adopted a “fragment-based” approach.

DC’s fake crime stats are even worse than you think…

If you want to know how bad things really are in The Swamp, here’s your answer: city leaders have been cooking the books to make crime look less out of control than it actually is. That’s right, while American families are living in fear, dealing with theft, assaults, and violent attacks, police brass in the nation’s capital were directing officers to misclassify crimes. They were told to downgrade felonies to misdemeanors so they could protect the left-wing political class from having to face the ugly truth about their soft-on-crime policies and failed leadership.

This is exactly the kind of cover-up you’d expect from a Dem-run city, right? Instead of admitting and fixing the problem, they bury it, spin it, and punish anyone who dares to speak out. That’s what makes this story so important: a whistleblower inside the department exposed the scheme and was promptly fired for it. She sued the city, and they’ve now “quietly” settled with her.

And now that President Trump has stepped in to take control of the soaring crime nightmare, this story couldn’t come at a worse time for DC’s political elite, who are still out there spinning fairytales that crime is under control in DC.

New Details Emerge About Golden Dome’s Four-Layer Missile Defense Shield

The “Hemispheric Defense” theme is gaining momentum with new details emerging that the Golden Dome missile defense system will comprise of four layers: one space-based and three ground-based, including 11 short-range batteries positioned across the continental U.S., Alaska, and Hawaii.

Reuters cited a U.S. government slide presentation on the project, titled “Go Fast, Think Big!”, which was presented to 3,000 defense contractors in Huntsville, Alabama, last week. Think of the Golden Dome as Israel’s Iron Dome on serious steroids, given its complexity and scale.

According to the slides, the Golden Dome’s missile defense shield architecture calls for:

  • Space layer: satellites for missile warning, tracking, and boost-phase interception.
  • Upper layer: Next Generation Interceptors (NGI), THAAD, and Aegis systems — with a new missile field likely in the Midwest.
  • Under layer: Patriot systems, new radars, and a common launcher for current and future interceptors.

Reuters noted:

One surprise was a new large missile field – seemingly in the Midwest according to a map contained in the presentation – for Next Generation Interceptors (NGI) which are made by Lockheed Martin (LMT.N), opens new tab and would be a part of the “upper layer” alongside Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Aegis systems which Lockheed also makes.

NGI is the modernized missile for the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) network of radars, interceptors and other equipment – currently the primary missile defense shield to protect the United States from intercontinental ballistic missiles from rogue states.

The U.S. operates GMD launch sites in southern California and Alaska. This plan would add a third site in the Midwest to counter additional threats.

The Pentagon pointed out challenges such as communication latency across the kill chain (a step-by-step sequence of actions needed to find, target, and destroy a threat). Major defense contractors on the project include Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, RTX, and Boeing; SpaceX was absent from the latest plans.

Parks Canada quietly backtracks on ‘genocide’ claims against Manitoba residential school

The Government of Canada quietly dropped references to “genocide” regarding Indigenous residential schools in their latest statement after gaslighting Canadians for years.

According to an August 12 press release, Parks Canada, run by the Liberal government, discreetly removed all reference to “genocide” in its latest historic site designation of an Indian Residential School at Manitoba’s Portage la Prairie Residential School.

“Built in 1914-1915, the former Portage La Prairie Indian Residential School functioned within the residential school system whereby the federal government and certain churches and religious organizations worked together to assimilate Indigenous children as part of a broad set of efforts to destroy Indigenous cultures and identities and suppress Indigenous histories,” the press release read.

“The building has been given new meaning by the community as a site of commemoration and resilience that keeps the legacy of the residential school era alive and educates the public,” it continued.

This commemoration is a stark contrast to a February press release in which Parks Canada referred to the residential school system as a “cultural genocide.”

The current lack of reference to genocide marks a distinct shift in the Liberal government’s representation of the residential school system. For years, Liberals have clung to the story that Indigenous children were mass murdered and secretly buried in the schools despite the claims lacking substantial proof.

In 2021, the mainstream media began promoting inflammatory and dubious claims that hundreds of children were buried and disregarded by Catholic priests and nuns who ran once-mandatory residential schools.

Canada’s Residential School system was a structure of boarding schools funded by the Canadian government and run by both the Catholic Church and other churches that ran from the late 19th century until the last school closed in 1996.

While some children did tragically die at the boarding schools, evidence has revealed that many of the children passed away as a result of unsanitary conditions due to underfunding by the federal government, not the Catholic Church.

To date, there have been no mass graves discovered at residential schools. However, following claims blaming the deaths on the Catholic clergy who ran the schools, over 100 churches have been burned or vandalized across Canada in seeming retribution.

MSM Forced to Report That Ukrainian Forces Face Dire Lack of Manpower, as Millions of Citizens Will Not Fight for the Kiev Regime

As we await US-Russia Alaska summit tomorrow (15), the MSM continues their painful process of recognizing the realities on the ground in the battlefields of Ukraine.

One of the most difficult realities to face is the realization that literally millions of Ukrainian citizens will not fight for their country and hide from the conscription officers.

More than half a million Ukrainian men of military age have fled the country, while many others are still in hiding.

Add to that the desertion epidemic plaguing the Ukrainian forces, with hundreds of deserters abandoning their positions at the front every single day.

Russian forces have breached Ukrainian defenses near Dobropillia and advanced nine miles into territory around the city of Pokrovsk.

Ukraine deployed Azov brigade troops to face the attackers, but the situation remains ‘chaotic’.
