Mexico, Canada Will Each Send Troops to Border in Effort To Stop Trump Tariffs

Hours before President Donald Trump’s tariffs were slated to go into effect, Mexico agreed to immediately send 10,000 troops to its border with the United States to curb the flow of drugs and illegal immigrants, prompting Trump to pause the tariffs for one month. Canada soon followed suit, promising to send troops to its U.S. border in exchange for a tariff pause.

“Mexico will immediately reinforce the northern border with 10,000 members of the National Guard to prevent drug trafficking from Mexico to the United States, particularly fentanyl,” Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum told Trump during a Monday morning call. Trump confirmed the tariff pause in a Truth Social post, noting that “these soldiers will be specifically designated to stop the flow of fentanyl, and illegal migrants into our Country.”

Hours later, Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau said Monday afternoon that Canada will be “reinforcing the border with new choppers, technology and personnel” and that “nearly 10,000 frontline personnel are and will be working on protecting the border.”

“Canada is making new commitments to appoint a Fentanyl Czar,” Trudeau continued. “We will list cartels as terrorists, ensure 24/7 eyes on the border, launch a Canada-U.S. Joint Strike Force to combat organized crime, fentanyl and money laundering.”

In exchange, Trudeau finished, “proposed tariffs will be paused for at least 30 days.”

The agreement comes two days after Trump announced 25 percent tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada to “protect” Americans from the “major threat of illegal aliens and deadly drugs.” Both Canada and Mexico announced retaliatory tariffs against the United States. Trump also levied a 10 percent tariff on China, which remains poised to take effect on Tuesday.

Mexico will also expand an import substitution plan, dubbed Plan Mexico, to reduce reliance on Chinese imports and produce more goods in Mexico, Sheinbaum said at a news conference after the call.

The United States will engage in further negotiations with Mexico and Canada during the pause, Trump said on Truth Social. “As President, it is my responsibility to ensure the safety of ALL Americans,” Trump wrote. “I am very pleased with this initial outcome.”

Shock Revelation: USAID Funding Went to China for Gain-of-Function Research on Coronaviruses – Noted Expert Weighs In

State Department Spokesman Matt Miller found himself in hot water during a press briefing in September 2023 when confronted by reporter Sam Husseini about the funding provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to China for gain-of-function research on coronaviruses.

Husseini asked Miller to clarify how much funding USAID had sent to work at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and its collaborator Ralph Baric at the University of North Carolina.

“How much money went from USAID to this to the work at Wuhan and to their collaborator Ralph Barrick at the University of North Carolina to create, to collect and make coronaviruses that are weaponized, that are more deadly,” asked Husseini.

Miller was elusive in his response, stating, “First of all reject the implicit accusation in that question. And I do not have at my fingertips the particular details.”

DOGE Subcommittee Chair Rep. MTG Summons NPR and PBS Chiefs to Testify Over ‘Systemically Biased News Coverage’ Funded by Taxpayers

The leaders of NPR and PBS are set to be grilled on Capitol Hill as the newly formed Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE) Subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), demands answers on why taxpayer dollars continue to fund these far-left media outlets.

Letters sent to NPR CEO Katherine Maher and PBS President Paula Kerger on Monday morning accused the outlets of producing blatantly biased content while still receiving millions in federal funding.

The move signals a direct challenge to what conservatives have long criticized as taxpayer-funded propaganda for the left.

In her letter to Maher, Rep. Greene highlighted NPR’s refusal to cover the Hunter Biden laptop scandal in 2020, citing the outlet’s now-infamous statement:

“We don’t want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don’t want to waste the listeners’ and readers’ time on stories that are just pure distractions.”

The Threat of Carbon Capture

The “climate hoax” and “Green New Scam,” as President Donald Trump calls them, have spawned countless bad ideas and even worse policies.

In the transglobal elite’s attempt to direct the world’s economy by controlling average people, they have pushed an idiotic and dangerous vision of the nations of the world going net zero. I’m sure it’s purely coincidence that the policies developed to meet net zero just happen to benefit those same elites financially and in terms of political power.

Among the net zero policies pushed by the former Biden-Harris administration were de facto electric vehicle mandates, greenhouse gas restrictions forcing the premature closure of reliable coal-fueled power plants, and restrictions on the types of home appliances that could be sold.

One policy pushed by the net zero cabal that has gotten relatively little attention is mandated Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). Under this scheme, carbon dioxide emissions are captured and then transported via a spiderweb of pipelines to underground reservoirs to be stored permanently.

Carbon capture has long been used in the oil and gas industry, but the CO2 is not stored. Rather, it is pumped in to marginal or flagging wells where it enhances oil recovery. This is not permanent storage.

The whole motive for CCS, the uneconomic capture for permanent storage rather than use, is to fight climate change and hit net zero. The fossil fuel industry, particularly coal, has embraced it as a lifeline allowing them to continue to operate, a lifeline that happens to come with generous subsidies.

It seems shocking that a government entity that has the word “aid” in its acronym would ever be accused of doing dirty tricks and worse against the friends and foes of the U.S., much less be defanged or shut down by Donald Trump. But now, we’re finding out all kinds of skullduggery attributed to our color revolutionistas at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Victoria Nuland, and Samantha Power and their kindred through the years. Need a race riot in Africa? No problem, USAID is your go-to riot planner. Want to force out a democratically elected president? Call USAID for an information onslaught guaranteed to get rid of any elected populist. Need conservatives censored? Call USAID.

The U.S. State Department and USAID pay millions of dollars per week to the Taliban, the bin Laden family leading the group, and the Haqqani terror network. Remember those guys? Didn’t we wage a 20-year-long war to get rid of them …???

We left Afghanistan, left behind billions of dollars in equipment, the strategically important Bagram Air Base, and all the biometric data of our Afghani supporters who put their lives on the line to help our efforts to get the Taliban and the terrorists they were hiding from us. So, of course, when Joe Biden, Tony Blinken, and Jake Sullivan had us bug out in disgrace, they left the Taliban a ready-made kill list of our allies.

And now, as Adams reckons, we pay the Taliban and all the above parties between $40-87 million per week that is carried on a plane complete with a bag man who doles out the payoffs.

What Does National Security Have To Do With Soaring Defense Spending?

Paraphrasing Thomas Jefferson, the natural progress of things is for prices to yield and for quality to gain ground.  Technology is what enables this natural progress.  Do televisions cost more now than they did in the early ‘90s?  What about mobile phones?  Same answer for both questions: both are better and less expensive today than they were in the early ‘90s, which is why one will conclude that something is awry when reading headlines like “Global Military Spending Has Almost Doubled Since the Early ‘90s.”

Why has military spending almost doubled since the early ‘90s?  Arguably for the same reason hospital services have: government intervention.  Those who ‘serve’ in government endlessly tax the present because they arrogantly claim to know what the future should be rather than allow the future to unfold via voluntary exchange between producers and consumers.  Against all reason and historical precedent, they claim that, in order to stay safe, ‘defense’ spending must increase.  But that’s like claiming that, in order for eggs to contain yolks, the cost of raising chickens must necessarily outpace the rate of inflation.

“But but but” the unthinking screech, “the world is much more dangerous today!”  Perhaps, but is warfare immune from technological advance?  No, as Jefferson’s actual quote helps explain: “The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.”  The world’s danger stems from governments’ interventions.  Wars aren’t cheap; governments don’t engage in them for fun.  The people would rather not fight, but instead of consulting with the people, governments conscript them.  Increased military spending is inversely proportional to market forces – the will of the people.

Military spending has almost doubled because the government that allegedly serves us trades our present liberty for its imagined, grotesque future.  Weapons manufacturing is one of the most regulated – if not the most regulated – industries in the “land of the free,” and that regulation paves the way for the most perverse incentive imaginable: though the maiming, killing, and destruction of “them” and their cities equates to the decimation of their economy, “our” business relies on it.

But work divided – not obliterated – is what enables the natural progress of things.  And when the number and duration of wars are unknown, and when that uncertainty is combined with the fact that war – at least its initial phase – is entirely devoid of market forces, weapons manufacturers can charge whatever they like, considering the governments that purchase their products spend their citizens’ money and not their own.  Governments have only what they’ve taken from the people they claim to serve, and they spend that money in the same way they obtained it: without consent.

CEO of Canada’s 2nd-biggest company defends Trump’s tariff demands, slams Trudeau for not stopping trade war

The CEO of Canada’s second-largest publicly traded company says Canadians want their government to do all the things that President Trump is demanding — and slammed outgoing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for not preventing the trade war.

Trump, 78, on Saturday, signed an executive order to slap 25% across-the-board tariffs on America’s northern neighbor, citing its failure to meet his demands on helping stop the fentanyl and illegal immigration trade.

“Canada thrives when it works with America together. Win by helping America win. Trump believes that Canada has not held its side of the bargain,” Tobi Lutke, who co-founded Shopify, wrote on X.

“These are things that every Canadian wants its government to do, too. These are not crazy demands, even if they came from an unpopular source. These tariffs are going to be devastating to so many people’s lives and small businesses.”

Lutke’s withering critique came in response to a clip of Trudeau announcing 25% retaliatory tariffs on $107 billion worth of US goods and pushing for policies targeting red states.

Shopify, the e-commerce giant that Lutke co-founded in 2006, is worth about $150 billion. It’s Canada’s biggest tech company and biggest-ever startup — and second only to the Royal Bank of Canada in size.

Top 5 Failed Democrat Initiatives That Cost Americans a Fortune

On January 29, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt labeled the Biden administration as “drunken sailors” for its controversial spending habits. Later that day President Trump revealed that under the Democrats the U.S. allocated $50 million for purchasing condoms for the people of Gaza, which is the hometown of our fiercest enemy, Hamas, and a substantial investment in the World Health Organization, often a vocal critique of America.

The CHIPS Act

The CHIPS Act was designed to provide the domestic semiconductor industry with $79 billion in subsidies and loans. However, the initiative failed to deliver. Once a dominant player in consumer and professional CPUs, Intel is now caught in a very unfavorable situation. 

The bill was marred by woke climate and environmental requirements that hindered the development of the industry in the U.S. Moreover, necessary actions against leading semiconductor manufacturers, such as Taiwan, were not taken in a timely manner. 

The idea behind the CHIPS Act is sound, and we must work on securing our leadership in computer and AI technologies. The new administration is fully aware of this and will take a different approach by imposing various tariffs.

Affordable Connectivity Program

The Broadband Connectivity Act, with its Affordable Connectivity Program, is a $42 billion initiative aimed at improving broadband internet access for households across the country. Initially, the bill had bipartisan support and held great promise for making a better living for many Americans.

Alas, the reality turned out to be completely different. Democrats pushed diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) requirements and failed to establish fast and convenient verification processes for applicants. This predetermined that the initiative would be inefficient. As of January 2025, many communities are reported to face hurdles due to inadequate connectivity.

Audit USAID… Then Shut It Down!

As of this writing, when you attempt to access the US Agency for International Development (USAID) website or social media pages you are informed that, “This site can’t be reached.” The media reports that the new Trump Administration has not only frozen USAID activities but may be planning on bringing it back under control of the US State Department. Other reports, including statements by Elon Musk, suggest that it will be closed completely.

If true, the closing of USAID may be one of the most significant changes President Trump has made among many dramatic actions in his first couple of weeks in office. Many Americans may still have the idea that USAID is a government agency delivering relief at disaster sites overseas. They may still remember the bags of rice or grain with the USAID logo on them. But that is not USAID.

USAID is a key component of the US government’s “regime change” operations worldwide. USAID spends billions of dollars every year propping up “NGOs” overseas that function as shadow governments, eating away at elected governments that the US interventionists want to overthrow. Behind most US foreign policy disasters overseas you will see the fingerprints of USAID. From Ukraine to Georgia and far beyond, USAID is meddling in the internal affairs of foreign countries – something that would infuriate Americans if it was happening to us.

When President Trump ordered a 90 day pause in USAID activities, we quickly learned just how pernicious the agency really is. The US media reported that Ukrainian press outlets were scrambling to keep their doors open when the US dollars stopped flowing. It is reported that 90 percent of the media outlets are funded by the US government!

This means that there is virtually no independent media in Ukraine, only fake news outlets willing to toe the US Administration’s propaganda line. Does anyone think these wholly US-funded “news” outlets would ever publish a story that the US government did not want published?

Canada announces US tariffs on hold for 30 days after Justin Trudeau holds ‘good phone call with President Trump’

President Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a temporary deal Monday evening to halt the imposition of 25% tariffs on each other’s imports for 30 days while a final border security pact gets hashed out.

Trump, 78, and Trudeau, 53, spoke on the phone twice Monday before announcing the agreement, with Canada set to ensure 10,000 troops will be stationed at the northern border and the PM vowing to take steps to crack down on fentanyl smuggling.

“Canada has agreed to ensure we have a secure Northern Border, and to finally end the deadly scourge of drugs like Fentanyl that have been pouring into our Country,” Trump announced on Truth Social, following the call with Trudeau. “Canada will implement their $1.3 Billion Border plan.”

“As President, it is my responsibility to ensure the safety of ALL Americans, and I am doing just that,” he added. “I am very pleased with this initial outcome.”

In a separate post on X, Trudeau indicated that Canada would move ahead with its $1.3 billion border plan announced in December, weeks after Trump first threatened the 25% duties that were due to take effect at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday. (Canadian energy products would have been subjected to a lower 10% rate.)
