Chinese tennis star, 35, vanishes after she was censored from the internet for accusing country’s former vice premier, 75, of sexual abuse

A Chinese tennis player has vanished a week after accusing the country’s former vice premier of sexual abuse.

Peng Shuai, 35, accused 75-year-old Zhang Gaoli of forcing her to have sex with him in a lengthy post uploaded to Weibo, the Chinese Facebook equivalent.

The post was soon deleted and all of her recent content on the site has been scrubbed. The word tennis (‘wangqiu’) was even censored on the social network.

The athlete, who became a household name after winning the French Open doubles in 2014, has not been seen since.

While China has been rocked by #MeToo scandals before, this is believed to be the first involving a high-ranking member of the Communist Party.

Gavin Newsom Reappears, Claims He Skipped Climate Conference to go ‘Trick-or-Treating’

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has reappeared in public for the first time since October 27th, claiming he missed the Cop26 climate conference to go ‘trick-or-treating’ with his children.

Newsom spoke at the California Economic Summit, where he complained about the “treadmill” of work he had to plough through.

Fox News reports that Newsom’s children held an “intervention” during a family dinner because they “couldn’t believe I was going to miss Halloween.”

“He ultimately decided to stay home because the “knot” in his stomach was too much to bear,” according to the report.

Breitbart’s Joel Pollak wondered why Newsom had to miss the climate summit given that it is still ongoing and Halloween was 10 days ago.

“In addition to family, Newsom claims he has devoted the past two weeks to work — though he spent Saturday at the lavish wedding of billionaire oil heiress Ivy Getty, with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) officiating the nuptial vows,” he writes.

California Governor Newsom mysteriously vanishes from public life after vaccination

Governor Gavin Newsom has not been seen in over two weeks, leading foes and fans alike to wonder about his health, their imaginations running wild due to his receiving a Covid-19 booster shot at his last public appearance.

The California governor was last seen receiving a Moderna booster shot on live television, something many politicians have done in order to bolster confidence in the controversial shots. However, he has not been seen publicly since receiving that jab on October 27, his absence feeding the rumor mill about his whereabouts and health.

For the climate-defending governor to miss COP26, the Cannes of climate change, especially signaled something very wrong to Newsom’s critics and supporters. While a press release from his office two days after his ‘disappearance’ cited “family obligations” as his reason for staying stateside during the Glasgow festivities, it also claimed he would participate in the conference remotely. Rather than phone in to the event, however, Newsom ultimately sent his lieutenant governor, Eleni Kounalakis, in his stead.

Newsom’s personal account tweeted a warning that “COVID cases are beginning to rise” on Tuesday, demanding citizens get their booster shots. However, like a post last week celebrating health authorities’ approval of the Pfizer vaccine for young children, the tweet did little to pour cold water on the feverish speculation about where the governor had gone.

At least NINE bodies have been discovered since September during the massive searches for Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie

The massive search for Gabby Petito after the Florida woman vanished in September and was later found dead in a Wyoming national park has resulted in at least nine bodies of other missing people being discovered.

Authorities began searching for Petito when she was reported missing on September 11. Her body was found in Wyoming on September 19, two days after Laundrie, the sole person of interest in her death, disappeared from his home in Florida.

The search for Laundrie may have come to an end Wednesday when human remains were found in the Florida reserve where the prime suspect in her death had escaped

But the national manhunt and suspected sightings of Laundrie by police everywhere from Florida to along the Appalachian trail to the West Coast have uncovered other tragic victims.

The most recent body found was that of 22-year-old Emily Ferlazzo in a case with shocking similarities to Petito’s. Ferlazzo was reported missing by her parents on Monday after her 41-year-old husband, Joseph Ferlazzo, returned to her parents’ house in New Hampshire to tell them he had not seen his wife since Saturday.

The couple were living in a small bus that they had renovated into a home and had driven to Vermont to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. The day after Emily was reported missing, Joseph allegedly confessed to shooting her in the end and dismembering her body in their camper.

Woman Missing for 2 Weeks, Found Dead in Police Van, In Dept’s Parking Lot—Family Demanding Video

If you are looking for a parking lot or building with the most surveillance cameras in place, a police station would likely be a good start. There are likely many cameras around every police station, filming the building and the parking lot alike. It is this video footage that the family of Christina Nance is demanding from police after she was found dead in the back of a Huntsville police van — parked in the middle of their parking lot.

Police have not yet released video showing when the van was parked there or how Nance, 29, ended up in the back of it.

“She was just very positive, fun-loving and caring person, very sweet, very sweet,” Christina’s sister, Whitney Nance told WAFF.

”She was fun to be around, real sweet, innocent,” said Christina’s cousin Amanda Mastin.

“I just looked back at her and she was just smiling,” Latausha Nance, Christina’s other sister said. “And I said, ‘Christina, why are you smiling like that?’ and she just said, ‘Oh nothing, it’s nothing.’ That’s the last memory I have of my sister.”

Nearly two weeks ago, the Nance family was shocked to learn that Christina was missing and they’ve been frantically searching for her ever since. Then, on Oct. 7, they found out where she had been — dead, in the back of a police van, in the police department’s parking lot.

”We have no idea how she ended up there out of all places, why there out of all places, why there,” Whitney said. ”She was in the van the entire time and nobody knew. Not even the police department knew.”

According to police, an officer walking through the parking lot discovered Nance’s body in the back of the van. Police claim they leave the doors to the van unlocked all the time so anyone could climb in there.

The idea of police leaving their vehicles unlocked is ludicrous given the gear that is inside them, not to mention, vandals and others who may seek to get inside them.

According to the Madison County Coroner, Nance’s body didn’t show any signs of trauma but the family is still suspicious and want to know some answers.

We Finally Know How 43 Students on a Bus Vanished Into Thin Air

Transcripts of newly released text messages between a crime boss and a deputy police chief have finally lifted the lid on the mystery of 43 students who went missing one night in southwestern Mexico.

The messages indicate that the cops and the cartel worked together to capture, torture, and murder at least 38 of the 43 student teachers who went missing in September of 2014.

The students had made the deadly mistake of commandeering several buses in order to drive to Mexico City for a protest. It now seems clear that those buses were part of a drug-running operation that would carry a huge cargo of heroin across the U.S. border—and the students had accidentally stolen the load.

The Strange and Mysterious Story of a Missing Prime Minister

Today’s article is on the unresolved subject of Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt’s vanishing on December 17, 1967. The National Film and Sound Archive of Australia say of Holt’s weird disappearance:  “With Australia at war in Vietnam in 1967, suddenly Prime Minister Harold Holt disappeared without a trace – an event unparalleled in the history of western democracy. The nation was in shock and disbelief at the shattering news, hoping for a miracle for the man who famously declared it was ‘all the way with LBJ.’ Police led a ‘‘softly softly’ investigation and concluded accidental drowning. But at the height of Cold War paranoia, persistent doubts about his disappearance fueled rumor and wild speculation. Why did Holt go into such violent surf that day? Had he chosen a bizarre way out of a difficult situation? Why were police withholding crucial facts? What had they overlooked?”

How Whitney Duan became China’s richest woman, then vanished without a trace

Once upon a time, Weihong “Whitney” Duan was the poster woman for the Chinese dream.

After growing up poor, she wheeled and dealed her way to a billion-dollar fortune, making her name as China’s most successful female entrepreneur.

Then, on Sept. 5, 2017, at age 50, she simply disappeared from the streets of Beijing.

As her ex-husband Desmond Shum recounts in his new book, “Red Roulette,” (Scribner), out now, “she was last seen the day before in her sprawling office at Genesis Beijing, a $2.5 billion development project that she and I had built. There, Whitney had masterminded real estate projects worth billions more. And now suddenly she was gone.”

Lawyer for Jan. 6 Defendants Released From Hospital, Says Reports He Went ‘Missing’ Are Inaccurate

A lawyer representing 17 clients who were allegedly involved in the Jan. 6 Capitol breach released a statement Tuesday saying reports he went missing are false.

John Pierce, who is based in California, issued a lengthy comment to The Gateway Pundit saying he was hospitalized for 12 days and has recovered. Pierce later confirmed to The Epoch Times on Tuesday that he released the statement.

Court filings that were submitted last month by acting U.S. Attorney Channing D. Phillips said that about 20 cases related to the Jan. 6 incident haven’t proceeded after Pierce didn’t show up, alleging that he was “reportedly ill” with COVID-19 and on a ventilator. A law firm associate who isn’t a licensed lawyer appeared in Pierce’s place during court hearings and proceedings, according to the filings.

“Unfortunately, it seems that Mr. Pierce may be hospitalized and unable to communicate, and it is unclear when Mr. Pierce will recover,” prosecutors wrote in the filing.

Pierce, however, said that he was released from a Los Angeles-area hospital on Sept. 5 after a 12-day stay.

“I was not ‘missing’ or anything of the sort. I am greatly appreciative of the many expressions of prayer and support,” he said in a statement. “And I am deeply grateful for the amazing care I received from the doctors, nurses, and staff who cared for me.”

Lawyer Representing 17 Jan. 6 Defendants Has Mysteriously Gone Missing: Court Filings

An attorney who is representing 17 accused Jan. 6 Capitol breach defendants has disappeared, possibly suffering from COVID-19, according to a court filing on Monday.

Acting U.S. Attorney Channing D. Phillips said in a court document (pdf) that nearly 20 cases related to the Jan. 6 incident are not proceeding after John Pierce, the lawyer, went missing.

Pierce, according to the court filing, is “reportedly ill with COVID-19, on a ventilator, and unresponsive.” Pierce’s law firm associate, Ryan Marshall—who is not a licensed attorney—has been appearing in Pierce’s place at court hearings and proceedings. Marshall also was the one who revealed Pierce’s alleged hospitalization and condition, said the filing.

The lawyer, who generally posts on Twitter several times per day, has not posted since Aug. 20.

“Because Mr. Pierce is unavailable and Mr. Marshall cannot ethically or legally represent Mr. Pierce’s clients,” Phillips said, “the government is making the Court aware of Mr. Pierce’s reported illness so that it can take any steps it believes necessary to ensure the defendant’s rights are adequately protected while Mr. Pierce remains hospitalized.”

But later in the court filing, the U.S. attorney’s office said it obtained “conflicting information about Mr. Pierce’s health and whereabouts.”

When it was revealed publicly that Pierce was hospitalized with COVID-19, a report from NPR, citing unnamed sources, said that he may have been suffering from dehydration, exhaustion, and is believed to have symptoms related to COVID-19.

And a colleague of Pierce, Brody Womack, told Business Insider that Pierce “appears to have been suffering from dehydration and exhaustion in relation to his tireless work on behalf of his clients, including the many defendants he represents in connection with the January 6, 2021 protest at the Capitol.”

On Aug. 26, Marshall appeared in place of Pierce, telling a U.S. attorney’s assistant that he hasn’t had any contact with Pierce and adding that one of his friends “had told him that Mr. Pierce was sick with COVID-19 and another had said he was not,” the filing said.

“From the government’s perspective,” said Phillips’ office, “given Mr. Pierce’s reported illness and the fact that Mr. Marshall is not a licensed attorney, this case is effectively at a standstill.”
