Oops! I Think the NYT Just Said the Quiet Part About Deportation Out Loud

Tell me you’re out of touch without telling me you’re out of touch.

I wasn’t planning on writing anything today as I’m knee-deep in a house cleaning project, but I took a little break to peruse the news and saw an article in the New York Times that had me wondering if I’d accidentally stumbled upon a satire site like the Babylon Bee. It was about how deporting illegal migrants would have a negative impact on the wealthy people who have homes in the Hamptons. You know, the real victims in all of this.

The article is entitled “They Help Make the Hamptons the Hamptons, and Now They’re Living in Fear.” The subtitle reads “Latino immigrants care for some of America’s most lavish beachside mansions. Their disappearance would affect the wealthy, too.” But wait, it gets better. The article begins:

The party dresses must be double-pressed, the hedges shaved into sharp rectangles. The hand soap and lotion dispensers must be formed into neat lines along bathroom sinks. Caterers need to slip out of view as soon as the oysters and cocktails are served.

Wealthy residents of the Hamptons demand perfection. Now, many of the people who make it so — Latino immigrants, some of them undocumented — are panicking about President Trump’s deportation orders.

It goes on with great quotes like this one: “Some of the wealthy are quietly beginning to make calculations about what it would mean if their undocumented workers were deported. Who would mow the lawn?”

(Note: their undocumented workers)

Or this one from Marit Molan, director of Hamptons Community Outreach: “Everyone relies on housekeepers and carpenters and tree cutters and grass cutters. People come to the Hamptons to enjoy their houses, and who is going to take care of their houses?”

Kristi Noem Revokes Protected Status for 500,000 Haitians, Opens Them Up for Deportation

The Trump administration is moving to end deportation protections for about 520,000 Haitians.

On Thursday, the Department of Homeland Security gave notice that temporary protected status would be ending for Haitians, according to The Hill.

The administration took similar action against Venezuelans who have used TPS to remain in the United States.

“Biden and Mayorkas attempted to tie the hands of the Trump administration by extending Haiti’s Temporary Protected Status by 18 months — far longer than justified or necessary,” a DHS representative said in a news release, referring to former President Joe Biden and former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

“We are returning integrity to the TPS system, which has been abused and exploited by illegal aliens for decades. President Trump and Secretary Noem are returning TPS to its original status: temporary,” the representative said, referring to current DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, who issued the order.

Some Haitians have been protected from deportation since 2010, when the Obama administration first authorized it for Haitians after a major earthquake there, according to The New York Times.

As noted by Politico, once Haitians in the U.S. under TPS lose their protected status, they could be eligible for deportation.

Mayor Johnston’s Lawless Defiance to Cost Denver Taxpayers $2M

Mayor Mike Johnston is no stranger to controversial headlines. He’s also well known for defying US immigration law and prioritizing resources for illegal residents.

Remember the “Newcomer Playbook“? How about the time his peer in Aurora accused him of “human dumping“? Back before inauguration day, he was tacitly calling for insurrection. The reality is, Denver has been focused on settlement rather than law enforcement. When Biden was in office, they bragged about it.

A sustainable response to newcomers… right?

Johnston was called to D.C. last month to answer for his subversion of the law. First he resisted, then he said he was open to it, and now he has secured a top Biden lawyer at a reported rate of $1,000 per hour. From Denverite:

“Denver to pay $1,000 hourly for top Biden lawyer as Republicans investigate ‘sanctuary’ cities. The city of Denver is hiring outside lawyers as it prepares for a Congressional Republican inquiry about the city’s immigration policies. A contract passed by Denver City Council allows the city to pay up to $2 million over a one-year period to Covington & Burling, a Washington-based law firm. The city is to be represented by Dana Remus, who previously was the White House counsel for President Joe Biden.”

NYC Mayor Adams Sues Trump Admin Over $80.5 Million in Migrant Shelter Funding Revoked by the Feds

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration over $80.5 million in funding for migrant shelters being seized by the feds.

The funding was revoked last week.

“This morning, our office learned about the federal government clawing back more than $80 million in FEMA grants applied for and awarded under the last administration, but not disbursed until last week,” Adams said in a statement at the time.

“While we conduct an internal investigation into how this occurred, our office has already engaged with the White House about recouping these funds and we’ve requested an emergency meeting with FEMA to try and resolve the matter as quickly as possible.”

The money was part of a series of Federal Emergency Management Agency payments to local governments to help cover migrant costs.

“Without a doubt, our immigration system is broken, but the cost of managing an international humanitarian crisis should not overwhelmingly fall onto one city alone,” Adams said in a statement on Friday night after the lawsuit was filed.

“With very little help from the federal government, our administration has skillfully managed an unprecedented crisis, which has seen over 231,000 people enter our city asking for shelter. The $80 million that FEMA approved, paid, and then rescinded — after the city spent more than $7 billion in the last three years — is the bare minimum our taxpayers deserve,” Adams continued.

The controversial mayor added, “And that’s why we’re going to work to ensure our city’s residents get every dollar they are owed.”

ICE Raids Texas Bakery: 8 Illegal Aliens Arrested, Owners Charged for Harboring and Aiding Illegals

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raided Abby’s Bakery in South Texas, arresting eight illegal aliens and slapping the bakery’s owners with charges of harboring and abetting criminals.

The bakery owners, Leonardo Baez and Nora Alicia Avila-Guel, admitted to knowingly hiring and sheltering illegal aliens—an act that flouts federal law and contributes to the ongoing border crisis.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) confirmed that the pair was charged with bringing in and harboring aliens and aiding and abetting the harboring of aliens, offenses that carry serious penalties under U.S. law.

Yet, rather than report them to authorities or comply with federal employment laws, they chose to harbor them, even providing shelter for some of the individuals on their own property.

Report: Connecticut Democrats Spent $1.3 Billion on Migrants

Connecticut Democrats have spent $1.3 billion in taxpayer funds on illegal migrants, or almost $340 for each of the 3.68 million people in the state, according to a new study.

Democrat Governor Ned Lamont has disputed the report by the conservative Yankee Institute, but the organization’s President, Carol Platt Liebau, has noted that her organization has cited the accounting of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), which found that the Nutmeg State has supported about 225,000 illegal migrants of all ages incurring costs for medical care, in-state tuition and education, incarceration, and welfare payments.

“We welcome the opportunity to discuss with the Governor other ways to save taxpayer dollars,” Liebau said on the Yankee Institute’s website. “After all, $1.3 billion is a significant sum, and as he knows, some families who are here legally and some of our state’s businesses are struggling, and could certainly benefit from those resources.”

A group of state Senators released a statement noting how appalled they are at the spending.

“$1.3 billion with a ‘B.’ Does Gov. Lamont find that statistic absolutely shocking as we do?” said Republican Senators Rob Sampson, Eric Berthel, and Stephen Harding, adding:

What is he doing to analyze and reduce that number? These are common sense questions, but Gov. Lamont is already on record stating that all illegal aliens are ‘welcome’ in Connecticut. Even the most violent. So, overburdened taxpayers here in deep blue Connecticut will continue to fork over $1.3 billion annually as long as Democrats are in charge at the State Capitol.

GOP senators also wondered why Lamont is dedicating so many tax dollars to helping illegal migrants have access to legal advice, buy cars, and even start businesses and get home loans.

The state’s Republican Party also blasted Gov. Lamont’s spending on migrants, and said that taking $1.3 billion away from solving state issues is a disservice to legal citizens, especially while legal citizens are falling behind.

Musk Details How Treasonous The Biden Administration Was…

During comments at the CPAC conference Thursday, Elon Musk detailed just how extreme the Biden administration was when it came to the opening the border and flooding the country with illegal aliens.

“It’s important for people to understand the Biden Administration sent any possible money they could send to amplify illegal immigration,” Musk urged.

He explained, “They took money from FEMA meant for helping Americans in distress and sent it to luxury hotels for illegal immigrants in NY. That is an outrage. They actually did that.”

“Not only that, even after The President (Trump) signed an EO saying it has to stop, the deep state bureaucrats still pressed send on $80M last week to send money to The Roosevelt Hotel and other places. Now they’re mad and they’re trying to sue to have it restored. The gumption of these people,” Musk told the crowd.

Newsmax host, Rob Schmitt then asked Elon “Do you think they were trying to create a new voter class?”

Musk responded “Yes. Look at basic incentives. If the probability that an illegal is going to vote Democrat is 80-90% then the incentive is to maximized the umber of illegals in the country.”

“That is why the Biden administration was pushing to get in as many illegals as possible. because every one of them is a customer. Every one of them is voter. The entire thing is a giant voter import scam,” Musk asserted.

“Then they created this CBP1 app to literally fly people in. When people are being flown in at your expense that is crazy. Then we found out some guy in London was paid $100M to make this app,” Elon added.

“When they’re flying illegals into the swing states, it’s not going to be a swing state for long,” he further contended.

Can Bounty Hunters Solve Our Immigration Crisis?

In an era where federal inertia and urban chaos threaten the fabric of our republic, two visionary state leaders — Missouri senator David Gregory and Mississippi attorney general Matthew Barton — have dared to propose a solution as bold as it is American: deploying bounty hunters to track down criminal illegal aliens.  Their legislation, Senate Bill 72 and House Bill 1484, offers a $1,000 reward per deportation, a concept now rippling across the heartland.  To the timid, it’s a provocation; to the resolute, it’s a reclamation of sovereignty.  As conservatives, we must not only embrace this idea, but elevate it as a cornerstone of our renewed commitment to law, order, and the pioneering spirit that forged this nation.

Let us first confront the crisis with unflinching clarity.  Illegal immigration is no mere administrative hiccup; it is a breach of our sacred borders, often shielding those who flout our laws with impunity.  The Department of Homeland Security estimates over 11 million illegal aliens reside here, a figure stagnant yet festering since the mid-2000s.  Among them lurk not just the weary laborer, but also the predator — cartel enforcers, human-traffickers, and recidivist felons.  ICE’s 2023 report notes 170,000 encounters with criminal aliens, including 1,300 homicide offenders.  These are indictments of a federal system too bloated to act and too cowed to prioritize American lives.

Enter the bounty hunter, a figure as old as the Republic, reborn for this modern fray.  Critics — often cloistered in coastal salons — scoff, conjuring dystopian fantasies or historical ghosts like the Fugitive Slave Act.  Such hand-wringing misses the mark.  This is not about rounding up the innocent, but targeting the guilty: illegal aliens with rap sheets, warrants, or deportation orders defied.  Gregory’s and Barton’s plans harness a regulated, incentivized force to augment an overwhelmed ICE and understaffed sheriffs.  Missouri’s bond agents and Mississippi’s certified hunters are extensions of the law, licensed and vetted, answering a clarion call the feds have ignored.

Undercover Video: Department of Education Operating Rogue ‘Sanctuary Program’ For Illegal Aliens, Hiding Secrets from DOGE on Encrypted App

Project Veritas released undercover video of Travis Combs, Branch Chief for Applied Innovation and Improvement at the US Department of Education, describing how the agency is hiding secrets from Congress and DOGE by communicating on encrypted app, Signal.

“It’s insanity. ‘Democracy Falling’ should be the title of the movie,” Travis Combs, a 5-year veteran at the department said.

Travis Combs told the undercover PV reporter that federal employees in the DOE are evading Congress and oversight.

“The one nice thing about the program that I work in is that we don’t ask [citizenship] status, and we’ve been able to keep that out of our federal statute. So, we don’t ask them when they enroll what their status is,” Combs told the PV reporter.

“If Congress actually knew that we don’t have [citizenship requirements] … there would be a lot of uproar…” Travis Combs told the undercover PV journalist.

Combs told the undercover journalist that Department of Education employees are purposely chatting on encrypted app Signal to hide their conversations from any oversight.

“If you want to have a conversation with somebody, you do have to take it offline, but you’re not supposed to. So, everybody uses… an app called Signal now,” he said.

Trump signs most explosive executive order yet as he pulls all federal funding to illegal migrants

Donald Trump made his strongest move against illegal immigration yet on Wednesday, signing an executive order that stops taxpayer money from going to undocumented migrants.

The White House stated that Trump is ‘committed to safeguarding Federal public benefits for American citizens who are truly in need, including individuals with disabilities and veterans.’

Trump is demanding ‘corrective action’ to stop ‘all taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal aliens‘.

Currently, children are entitled to a free K-12 public education regardless of immigration status under a 1982 Supreme Court ruling.

Trump’s order says a 1996 welfare law is supposed to deny public benefits to most illegal migrants, but points out that overhaul was ‘repeatedly undercut’ under Biden.

He claims the Biden administration’s border crisis resulted ‘in the improper expenditure of significant taxpayer resources.’

The president also immediately ended his predecessor’s use of parole to allow people into America temporarily, including via the controversial CBP One app that allowed in 900,000 migrants at the Mexican border.

More than 500,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans and Venezuelans who flew to the US at their own expense with a financial sponsor took advantage of the program.
