Mississippi bill would pay bounty hunters to catch undocumented immigrants

A Mississippi district attorney proposed new legislation Wednesday to pay bounty hunters a reward for helping to deport immigrants in the country illegally.

DeSoto County District Attorney Matthew Barton announced his support for House Bill 1484, authored by state Rep. Justin Keen (R), which would create the Illegal Alien Certified Bounty Hunter Program.

“We’ve seen firsthand the danger posed by bad actors and violent criminals who enter this country illegally, like the innocent life of Laken Riley,” Keen said in a statement. 

“President Trump’s administration has made it clear that deporting illegal immigrants is a priority, and we are proud to do our part here in Mississippi to help support his agenda and protect our citizens.”

Keen and Barton suggested offering a $1,000 reward to registered bounty hunters for each successful deportation they help facilitate, which would be funded by the general assembly and administered by the state treasurer, according to a press release from his office.

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey Changes Her Mind About Deporting Criminal Illegals When Things Get Real

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey is one of the Democrats who has vowed to defy Trump’s plans to deport illegal immigrants.

Back in November, Healey said she would use her executive power to ‘protect’ residents of the state, even if they are illegals.

Now that ICE has begun picking up criminal illegals in the city of Boston, she is singing a different tune.

Gov. Healey on recent Massachusetts immigration arrests: ‘I support the apprehension of criminals’

Federal immigration agents were seen Wednesday taking a man into custody in Chelsea, Massachusetts, as well as making other arrests in East Boston.

Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey addressed the arrests, saying she wouldn’t be quick to call them “raids.”

“I wouldn’t describe them as raids,” Healey said.”What it seems to be, and what we expected and what I support, which is the apprehension of criminals in our communities.”

Healey said she supports arresting criminals — whether they are undocumented or not.

Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is pushing back after President Donald Trump promised a crackdown on immigration.

It’s likely that when Healey was blowing hot air about standing up to Trump, that’s all it was. Air. It was Democrat virtue-signaling.

Trump orders Border Patrol to immediately stop setting illegal migrants free in the US: ‘Catch and release is ended’

Goodbye catch-and-release, hello catch-and-deport.

Migrants who are caught illegally crossing the US border will no longer be set free in the US while they await their immigration hearings. Instead, they’ll be taken into custody until they can be deported, Homeland Security sources told The Post.

Border Patrol agents were given the edict by the Trump administration on President Trump’s first full day in office Tuesday. It represents a seismic shift from the “catch-and-release” open border days of the Biden administration, during which around 8 million illegal immigrants flooded into the country.

Under the new orders, illegal migrants stopped at the border can only be released with the approval of from the Department of Homeland Security headquarters in Washington.

Under Biden, migrants often waltzed across the border with no fear of being turned back — emboldened by early signals by the administration that America’s borders were open.

Illinois and Chicago Defy Federal Deportation and Reject Effort by Alderman Raymond Lopez to Assist

Recent reporting has suggested that mass deportations at the hands of the new Trump Administration have had to be reconfigured.

In a Washington Post article from January 19, it was intimated that the Trump administration was reconsidering their plans because of a leak.

In the article incoming border czar Tom Homan was quoted, “We’re looking at this leak and will make a decision based on this leak.” Homan went on to say, “It’s unfortunate because anyone leaking law enforcement operations puts officers at great risk.”

Chicago and its sanctuary city status has been a focus of the incoming Trump Organization’s targeted deportation plan. While an operational plan leak may be hindering the administration’s efforts, it certainly will not be the only obstacle the Federal government will encounter in those efforts to round up illegal immigrants.

Illinois has been passing state laws in the last few years that not only protect illegal immigrants but help them avoid detection altogether. This month HB 5164 passed both houses of Illinois Congress and is now awaiting signature from Governor J.B. Pritzker.

The bill addresses “resident” name change. It lowers the residency requirement from six months to three and allows petitioners to keep these name change documents from becoming public in the case that it can cause hardship or harm.

The petitioners would also be able to keep address information from becoming public. The bill would be applicable to criminal offenders as well.

This bill follows a pattern for the Illinois legislature as it pertains to illegal immigrants. Illinois has also passed HB3882 in 2023 allowing illegals to obtain a “standard identification card” replacing the former classification of “non-compliant identification card.” Illinois further muddied the waters of identifying illegals in this bill by changing definitions. Now, a “limited term REAL ID compliant identification card,” can be obtained by asylum seekers and refugees.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams Claims When He Complained About Illegals to Biden Admin, He Was Told to ‘Be a Good Democrat’

New York City Mayor Eric Adams recently sat for an interview with Tucker Carlson and made some revealing statements.

Adams suggests that he believes he was targeted for investigation for speaking out about the border crisis and the problems it created for New York City.

He says that he had more than one meeting with Biden administration officials, including Joe Biden himself, and that after voicing his concerns, he was told by at least one person that he should ‘be a good Democrat.’

It just goes to show how little the Biden administration cared about this issue.

Adams, who was indicted by Biden’s Justice Department in September on bribery, wire fraud and conspiracy charges, as well as for allegedly soliciting campaign contributions from foreign nationals, spoke of his frustration with how the saga unfolded.

‘We have Venezuelan gang leaders that were coming to the city creating crimes,’ Adams said, which led to his asking Biden for help the condescending answer he received.

Trump pauses all court date notices for illegal border crossers, tells Border Patrol they are ‘aliens,’ not ‘migrants’: report

President Donald Trump has ordered the use of court dates and notices to appear (NTA) for illegal immigrants when they are taken into custody by Border Patrol to be halted. This comes as he has announced the end to catch-and-release policies implemented by former President Joe Biden

According to NewsNation reporter Ali Bradley, direction for Border Patrol went out on Monday night stating that they would be “halting the use of ‘NTAs’ (court dates) while reverting to the previous pursuit and use of force policy.”

Some of those policies include, according to Bradley, “No alien will be released from custody on an NTA/OR or otherwise without approval from Deputy Chief,” as well as the policy that the government will “no longer refer to aliens as migrants, noncitizens, etc. The legal term is alien and as law enforcement we will use the legal term.”

In addition to these new border and immigration policies, Trump ended the function of the CBP One application on Monday after he took office. The app has been used by immigrants traveling to the United States to set up asylum appointments at the border, whether or not their claims to asylum were legitimate. 

What happened under Biden is that those who set appointments were usually released into the United States with a “notice to appear” or a date for immigration court, sometimes years later down the line. The action from Trump ending those policies sets in motion more strict and secure border policies and will disincentivize people from coming to the border en masse.

Homan: Deportations Start Tomorrow with ‘Every ICE Office’, Focusing on Threats

On Monday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Evening Edit,” Border Czar Tom Homan stated that deportations will start on Tuesday with a focus on public safety and national security threats and the deportations won’t be in a specific city, rather “They’re going to do it throughout the country and we have offices throughout the country and every ICE office is going to be out there enforcing the law, starting tomorrow morning.”

Homan said, “Look the president’s been clear that, right out of the gate, we’re going to concentrate on public safety threats and national security threats. So, I can’t believe that any elected politician — I don’t care what party you’re from, why would you not want public safety threats out of your communities? That’s your number one responsibility as an elected official is the protection of your communities.”

Host Elizabeth MacDonald then asked, “So, the deportations are coming tomorrow?”

Homan answered, “Yeah, ICE is going to start doing their job tomorrow. They haven’t been able to do the job for the last four years and now they’re going to start enforcing the law like they should be.”

WTF: Asylum Seekers Caught With 30,000 High-Caliber Rifle Rounds In Arizona

President Donald Trump’s imminent executive orders addressing the illegal alien invasion, border crisis, and cartel violence could not come soon enough, as a new report out of Arizona says a multi-agency investigation led to the arrest of several asylum seekers and a US citizen in possession of 30,000 rounds of ammunition. 

Sheriff Mark Dannels of Cochise County, Arizona, revealed Sunday in a Facebook post that in mid-January, Cochise County Counter Narcotics, Trafficking Alliance assisted Homeland Security Investigations and Burau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives seized 10,000 rounds of .50 caliber ammunition and 19,640 rounds of 7.62×39 ammunition from multiple vehicles, operated by several asylum seekers and one US citizen from Texas.

Multi-agency investigation results in ammunition seizure

In mid-January of 2025, the Cochise County Counter Narcotics and Trafficking Alliance (CNTA) assisted Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Burau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) with an investigation leading to the seizure of 10,000 rounds of .50 caliber ammunition and 19,640 rounds of 7.62×39 ammunition.

The .50 caliber and 7.62×39 rounds were separated within two vehicles traveling east on Interstate 10 from the Phoenix area. The vehicle containing the 7.62×39 ammunition was interdicted by the Pinal County Sheriff’s office. Still, the second vehicle containing the .50 caliber ammunition was located by CNTA investigators at Motel 6 in Benson.

CNTA, HSI, and USBP contacted the vehicle’s two occupants at the motel. One of the occupants was found to be an asylum seeker out of Cuba and the second individual was identified as a US citizen out of Texas. The second vehicle was occupied by two asylum seekers. This investigation is ongoing and led by HSI and ATF.
