Connecticut Governor Wants To Give Noncitizens IDs That Look Exactly Like Those Used To Vote

Connecticut’s Democratic Gov. Ned Lamont is trying to redesign driver’s licenses so that those given to illegal aliens will be indistinguishable from those given to legal residents — in the same state where one city just had an election do-over because of an apparent cast of voter fraud.

The Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles currently denotes on licenses if they are “Drive Only” IDs, a measure put in place to ensure ineligible individuals cannot vote, according to the CT Examiner. “Drive Only” licenses have a “DO” stamp on the front and information on the back clearly stating they may not be used for voting.

Gov. Ned Lamont, however, wants to remove the marks because he’s mad that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a law that does not recognize licenses given to illegal immigrants.

“Connecticut prides itself on being a welcoming state,” Lamont’s spokeswoman Julia Bergman said in a statement, according to CT Examiner. “As some states work to target undocumented people, the visual differences in the licenses Connecticut provides to undocumented people has unintentionally made Connecticut residents with varying immigration statuses vulnerable in hostile states.”

Florida passed legislation last year specifying that it will not recognize licenses from Connecticut and four other states that permit illegal immigrants to get the government-issued ID.

“Someone who is in our country illegally and has violated our laws should not possess a government-issued ID which allows them access to state-funded services and other privileges afforded to lawful residents,” Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis said, according to The Hill. Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles Executive Director Dave Kerner added that “Florida will not accept driver’s licenses from those who cannot provide proof of lawful presence in the United States.”

But if Lamont’s efforts are successful, some are worried it could open the door to voting fraud.

Cara Gately, the Republican Registrar of Voters for the town of Darien, told CT Examiner that poll workers will have a hard time determining whether an individual is eligible to register to vote and cast a vote, especially since the state permits same-day voter registration.

“If such language is removed, election officials and poll workers very likely will unknowingly and erroneously accept the application for registration and allow ineligible persons to vote at poll sites in contradiction of state and federal law,” Gately told CT Examiner.

California bill would let illegal aliens convicted of violent crimes receive legal services

Legislation filed in California would extend legal services subsidized by taxpayer dollars to more illegal aliens, including those convicted of violent crimes.

The bill filed by California Democratic Assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer would expand current law to provide additional “immigration-related legal services” through grants received by nonprofit groups. The present version of the bill would strike language in the current law such that individuals who have been found guilty of violent offenses can receive assistance.

“Existing law prohibits use of the grant funds to provide legal services to an individual who has been convicted of, or who is currently appealing a conviction for, a violent or serious felony,” the summary of the legislation reads. “This bill would remove that prohibition.”

The current law, which allows grant funding for “immigration remedies and naturalization” for those presently or formerly residing in California, would be expanded to assist those “having an intent to reside in and having a nexus to the state” and would increase “the scope of services to include, among other things, legal representation and related services for removal defense.”

Controversy over the bill, which was introduced last month, comes as immigration emerges as a central issue ahead of the fall elections. Various crimes committed by illegal aliens, such as the abduction and murder of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley by an illegal alien from Venezuela, have also drawn renewed criticism of border policy under the Biden administration.

Republican Warns of Biden Order Allowing Illegal Immigrants, Felons to Vote

A Republican secretary of state sent a letter this week to the Department of Justice (DOJ) alerting it to an executive order signed in 2021 that he says will allow felons and illegal aliens to register to vote in elections.

In the letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, Republican Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson wrote that a Biden-signed executive order has led to agencies under Mr. Garland’s charge “attempting to register people to vote, including potentially ineligible felons and to co-opt state and local officials into accomplishing this goal.”

The order, which the White House described as an effort to promote “access to voting,” suggested that it was designed to eliminate racial discrimination at the polls. It told federal agencies, including the DOJ, to “consider ways to expand citizens’ opportunities to register to vote and to obtain information about, and participate in, the electoral process.”

Mr. Watson took issue with one provision that directed the DOJ to ensure that the U.S. Marshals Service change jail and “intergovernmental agreements” to mandate that the facilities “provide educational materials related to voter registration and voting,” and “facilitate voting by mail, to the extent practicable and appropriate.”

The problem, according to Mr. Watson, is that those materials may be given to people who can’t vote such as felons and illegal aliens. State officials are also essentially being forced to comply with the rules, he said.

“Our understanding is that everyone in the Marshals’ custody is given a form advising them of their right to register and vote,” his letter said, according to Fox News. “Providing ineligible non-citizens with information on how to register to vote undoubtedly encourages them to illegally register to vote, exposing them to legal jeopardy beyond their immigration status.”

Biden Says He’s “Counting On The Border Action Happening By Itself”

Joe Biden gave perhaps his most baffling comments on the border to date Monday when he told a reporter that he is “counting on” some action to fix the crisis at the border to “happen by itself.”

Following another disastrous appearance in New Hampshire, more to follow, Biden stopped on the tarmac before shuffling up the small steps into Air Force One.

“When is a border executive action coming?” a reporter asked Biden.

“I’m counting on the border action happening by itself,” Biden responded.

What?

Those 94 executive actions he took shutting down Trump era border policies are just going to reverse themselves are they?

The wide open border is apparently going to close itself if left alone.

In reality this translates as “I’m not going to do anything.”

Earlier, Biden said there just needs to be an “orderly process” at the border. Form an orderly queue and it’ll sort itself out.

Maine’s Soros-Funded DA Will No Longer Prosecute Illegal Immigrants for Specific Traffic Offenses, Including Driving Without a License, and Driving with a Suspended Registration

Soros-funded Cumberland County District Attorney Jacqueline A. Sartoris announced a policy change that will no longer see illegal aliens charged for specific traffic violations within Maine’s most populous county.

This policy change, effective from March 1, has been met with mixed reactions due to its implications for illegal aliens operating motor vehicles in the area.

The announcement, detailed in a memo obtained by The Maine Wire, specifies that individuals, including illegal aliens, will no longer face criminal charges for certain traffic offenses. These offenses encompass driving without a license, driving with a suspended registration, or driving an unregistered motor vehicle.

Sartoris pointed out the DA’s office’s focus on ‘problem-solving’ and ‘focusing on genuine public safety cases,’ highlighting the overwhelming caseload, which is reportedly at 150% capacity.

“The focus for us is on problem-solving (making people get legal) and focusing on genuine public safety cases, of which we have plenty,” Sartoris said in the memo.

“If you have other thoughts about resolving our 150% caseload, please feel free to share them,” she said.

“At the moment, and for the foreseeable future, this step is prudent, responsive to real-world challenges, and a civil violation is the appropriate response when any of these are the only potential criminal charge,” she added.

Denver Asks Landlords To Rent To Illegals

The city of Denver, Colorado has asked landords to start renting to illegal immigrants, Denverite reports.

On Tuesday, the city launched a program gathering information from landlords with property vacancies that rent for less than $2,000 per month. The city’s goal is to connect property owners with new immigrants in need of permanent housing.

Jon Ewing, spokesperson for Denver Human Services, said the city has already started hearing from landlords who want to work with the city on the effort.

The program was launched as the city continues to close temporary hotel shelters in an effort to scale back costs, which Mayor Mike Johnston announced at the end of February – a move he said could save the city some $60 million out of an anticipated $180 million in expenses related to the migrants.

According to city data, the number of people being housed in the shelters has dropped from 5,200 in mid-January to 2,000 at present.

“For ongoing housing, we’re trying to do more and better at the case navigation that gets people directly from shelter opportunities into housing, or into workforce options for normal travel, and so that continues to be our focus and it’s been successful for us over the last five weeks,” Johnson said at a press conference last week.

The migrants, mostly from Venezuela, have been looking for long-term housing in an increasingly unaffordable housing market. Complicating matters, many new immigrants lack work authorization that would allow them to secure legal employment in order to prove their income.

Judge allows Biden admin program that lets in 30,000 asylum-seekers a month

Afederal judge on Friday dismissed a challenge from 21 states against a Biden administration program that allows 30,000 asylum-seekers into the U.S. from four countries each month.

U.S. District Judge Drew B. Tipton ruled that Texas and 20 other Republican-led states didn’t have legal standing in the lawsuit because they didn’t demonstrate suffered financial harm from the federal program, the Associated Press reported. The program lets a total of up to 30,000 asylum-seekers enter the U.S. each month from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela.

“In reaching this conclusion, the Court does not address the lawfulness of the Program,” Tipton wrote in his ruling.

The states argued that the program forces them to spend millions of dollars on health care, education, and public safety for the asylum-seekers.

The program “created a shadow immigration system,” claimed an attorney working with Texas GOP Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office.

The federal government argued that asylum-seekers admitted through the program have aided the farm labor shortage in the U.S.

Federal Judge Rules Biden Can’t Divert Funds That Were Allocated for Construction of Border Wall

A federal judge has just ruled that the Biden administration cannot divert funds that were specifically allocated for the construction of a border wall under Trump.

Biden wanted to use this money for other things, naturally.

This doesn’t mean that Biden has to finish the wall and of course, he won’t. But it also means that he can’t touch the funds.

The Washington Times reports:

Judge orders Biden to stop diverting border wall money

A federal judge on Friday shot down the Biden administration’s plans to divert money from border wall construction to other projects like environmental remediation, ruling that it appears to violate the law.

Judge Drew B. Tipton said Congress gets to decide how money is spent and when it wrote its spending bills for fiscal years 2020 and 2021 it allocated nearly $1.4 billion each year for wall-building. The president trampled on that when he decided to spend wall-building money on “remediation projects.”

The government said it should have leeway to spend the money, and argued the remediation projects were ancillary to the wall and should be allowed.

Judge Tipton, though, said the way Congress wrote the law it was quite specific in saying the money should go to barriers along the border.

“The central question in this case, then, is this: Has the Government obligated FY 2020 and FY 2021 funds for the ‘construction of [a] barrier system’? The answer is largely no,” the judge concluded.

Homelessness Rises Among US Veterans For 1st Time In 12 Years As Immigration Crisis Escalates

As national, state, and local governments continue to spend billions of dollars to house, feed, clothe, and provide medical care for millions of illegal immigrants, homelessness among U.S. veterans has risen dramatically for the first time in 12 years.

A recent report from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) details a 7.4 percent increase in veteran homelessness between 2022 and 2023 and estimates that more than 35,000 veterans are homeless on any given night. Over the course of a year, according to the report, almost twice as many veterans may experience homelessness. In total, HUD estimates that nearly 13 percent of the homeless adult population are veterans.

Kate Monroe, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and CEO of VetComm.us, calls this situation “the ultimate betrayal” by the U.S. government. She is also a California Republican congressional candidate.

“What they are trying to do is get as many people into the U.S. as they can,” she told The Epoch Times. “And what we’re saying to our homeless veterans is that we as a country don’t care. It’s no wonder why recruiting is down by 20 percent.”

According to a November 2023 report by the Homeland Security Republican Committee, the money spent on illegal migrants could cost Americans up to $451 billion by the end of this year. According to NYC.gov, the official website for New York City, the Big Apple alone doled out $1.45 billion in 2023 to provide food, shelter, and services to tens of thousands of immigrants. Several published reports indicate that Chicago paid $138 million during the past year to house, feed, and care for illegal immigrants.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform reports that the state of California, which had the highest number of immigrants in 2023—more than 160,000—spent some $22.8 billion for their care in 2023. California has also become the first state to offer health insurance for all illegal immigrants.

Biden administration ADMITS flying 320,000 migrants secretly into the U.S. to reduce the number of crossings at the border has national security ‘vulnerabilities’

Joe Biden‘s administration has admitted transporting migrants on secret flights into the U.S. and lawyers for its immigration agencies claim revealing the locations could create national security ‘vulnerabilities’.

Customs and Border Protection has refused to disclose information about a program last year secretly arranging flights for thousands of undocumented immigrants from foreign airports directly to U.S. cities.

It means that while record numbers of migrants were flowing over the southern border last year, the Biden White House was also directly transporting them into the country.

Use of a cell phone app has allowed for the near undetected arrival by air of 320,000 aliens with no legal rights to enter the United States.

It comes after a controversy over a 2022 transportation program in which the administration used taxpayers money to move migrants throughout the country on overnight flights.

Included in details of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit first reported by Todd Bensman, the Center for Immigration Studies found Biden’s CBP approved the latest secretive flights that transported hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants from foreign countries into at least 43 different American airports from January through December 2023.

The program was part of Biden’s expansion of the CBP One app, which kicked off at the start of last year.

Migrants were able, under Biden’s expansion, to apply for asylum using the app from their home countries.

But the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) notes that the transportation of these migrants directly to the U.S. is one of the lesser known uses of the app.

Aliens who cannot legally enter the U.S. use CBP One to apply for travel authorization and temporary humanitarian release from those airports.
