Obama caught insisting gerrymandering is wrong when Republicans do it, but it’s ‘democracy’ when Dems take advantage

It’s unfair, it’s wrong, it’s “gerrymandering” when Republicans do it.

But it’s “democracy” when the perpetrators are Democrats.

That odd bit of hypocrisy is courtesy Barack Obama, who this week joined in an orchestrated campaign by Democrats to condemn a redistricting proposal in Texas.

It would, if fact, give GOP members a higher probability of winning some seats, analysts have said.

Obama wrote, “We can’t lose focus on what matters – right now, Republicans in Texas are trying to gerrymander district lines to unfairly win five seats in next year’s midterm elections. This is a power grab that undermines our democracy.”

However, Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, pointed out the two different definitions of redistricting, or gerrymandering, Democrats, including Obama, trot out.

Democrats “only call it ‘gerrymandering’ when it’s in a Republican state,” he explained. “When it happens in Illinois, they call it ‘democracy.’”

A report on the politicking by Obama, in Twitchy, cited a 2012 article in the New Yorker in which Obama confessed that his own national political career “was launched with the assistance of gerrymandering that Barack had a personal hand in helping with.”

Texas Dems ripped for ‘cartoonishly dumb’ strategy to flee to blue state notorious for gerrymandering

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker is rolling out the red carpet for Democratic state lawmakers who fled Texas as they push back against a move by President Donald Trump to add five Republican-controlled congressional seats in their state.

“I’m going to do everything I can to make sure that they’re welcome here, that they have the ability to stay as long as they need to and want to,” Pritzker, a Democrat, said on Sunday evening as the lawmakers arrived in Illinois.

The lawmakers fled Texas in order to prevent the quorum needed in the Republican-dominated state legislature to vote on Monday on the new redistricting maps, which passed a committee vote this past weekend along party lines.

The redistricting push in Texas is part of a broader effort by the GOP across the country to keep control of the House and cushion losses elsewhere in the country, as the party in power traditionally faces political headwinds and loses seats in midterm elections.

But veteran Republican strategist Matt Whitlock argued that the decision by most of the Democratic lawmakers to head to Illinois – with a few others decamping in two other blue states, New York and Massachusetts – was “cartoonishly dumb.”

Tom Bevan, the RealClearPolitics co-founder and president, wrote on X, “The idea that Texas Democrats would flee to Illinois, a state where Dems have abused gerrymandering to comical levels, is perfection.”

“To protest ‘partisan gerrymandering’ Texas Democrats are fleeing to…Illinois,” Republican Missouri Senator Eric Scmitt wrote on X. “You can’t make this up.”

Tulsi Gabbard Now Supports FISA-702 In Order To Get Confirmed As Director Of National Intelligence

As the story is told [SEE HERE], and it aligns with every scintilla of researched data on the darkest and deepest elements of the Deep State, DNI nominee Tulsi Gabbard has reversed her position and will now support FISA-702, the warrantless searches of American communication and electronic metadata.

Apparently the FISA process and the 702 aspect (specific to American citizens) is the line in the sand the Senate Select Intelligence Committee has drawn.  If Tulsi Gabbard does not support it, her confirmation is in doubt.  As a result, she has reportedly reversed her position and now supports it.

This is absolutely par for the course.

It should be remembered, in the last reauthorization of FISA-702 congress exempted themselves from the warrantless search and surveillance system used by the U.S. Intelligence Apparatus.  Congress forbids the FBI or any entity with access to the NSA database, from being allowed to use the process to search themselves or their staff.  However, every other American does not enjoy this same protection.

After spending years asking every representative of consequence why they support the FISA-702 process, I can tell you every one of them says they believe it is needed because the IC tells them there are just too many domestic terror threats that need to be monitored.

It is impossible to find a person in DC who will forcefully try to stop FISA-702 reauthorization.

If you ask me why in hindsight, I now take the position that FISA-702 is the gateway to the massive surveillance system currently being put into place using Real ID and the AI facial recognition software provided by Palantir (CIA exploit).  In essence, the gateway that allows the full-scale surveillance state, is opened by the prior authorization of FISA-702 that negates any 4th amendment protection.

Why? Because all of the surveillance mechanisms within the network being updated and enhanced by AI search and capture, comes from the IC being allowed to exploit the NSA database.  That same database access allowance is the targeting mechanism for FISA-702.  If warrantless searches of the NSA database were stopped, the Palantir/IC and Tech Bro collaboration could hit a brick wall.

Against this backdrop, the SSCI telling Tulsi Gabbard that her nomination approval is contingent upon her support for FISA-702, simply makes sense.

WASHINGTON DC – […] Multiple senators from both parties who met with the former Hawaii lawmaker in recent days told us they emerged from those sessions unsure about Gabbard’s position on the 702 program. During these meetings, senators have pressed Gabbard on her previous public statements on the issue, as well as her votes against 702 reauthorization throughout her eight years in Congress.

GOP national security hawks in particular viewed this as problematic, we’re told, fueling renewed doubts about her confirmation prospects. Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, suggested on a WSJ podcast Wednesday that Gabbard should disavow her previous opposition to the 702 program.

The Cincinnati Cop-Outs

Recently, a large group of black youths began pummeling several white adults in downtown Cincinnati.

The original altercation apparently broke out between a black and white male in he-said/he-said fashion. But that dispute soon turned into a virtual free-for-all.

Numerous male and female black youths sucker-punched a middle-aged woman and a man. Others continued to kick or body slam the victims, who were sprawled on their backs and seemingly unconscious.

There were many disturbing aspects to the beat-downs.

One, the violence broke out along racial and age fault lines. After the initial one-on-one dispute, groups of black youths swarmed solitary older white bystanders to pound them.

Two, the surrounding assembled group of black youths not only failed to intervene to restrain the bullies. They also recorded the beatings for social media and were heard cheering on the one-sided violence.

Three, there was neither a police presence nor any timely Good Samaritan interventions.

Instead, what ended the attacks was simply the fact that at least two of the targets appeared nearly comatose. So their assailants apparently concluded that their agenda of beating whites into unconsciousness was mostly complete.

Four, oddly few of the usual black spokespeople who habitually comment on interracial violence were to be seen.

During the fake Jussie Smollett attack, self-appointed leaders from Al Sharpton to Kamala Harris immediately issued warnings about so-called systemic white racism that had reared its ugly head to victimize Smollett.

Yet when it was revealed Smollett had concocted the entire charade — and even hired his own assaulters — there were few if any retractions from those once so eager to shout “racist!”

Such demagoguery is a well-known pattern dating back to the days of the Tawana Brawley rape hoax, the Duke Lacrosse charade, the Covington kids ruse, the Michael Ford “Hands-up-Don’t Shoot” fabrication, the “pseudo-transformation of George Zimmerman into a ‘white Hispanic,'” or the NASCAR noose fable.

Racialists too often concoct white racist attackers and go silent when the evidence proves fabricated — only to be primed to manipulate the next hoax.

Five, the media and authorities did their best to either hide or play down the violence.

City leaders, the chief of police, and the media variously blamed the mass black-on-white violence on 1) social media, 2) the original one-on-one dispute, 3) alcohol, 4) the lack of civilian intervention to stop the violence, and 5) a festival atmosphere — anything except endemic racial hatred shown toward whites from the crowd of black youths.

Six, had a gang of white toughs beat middle-aged African-Americans senseless, recorded it, and cheered on the violence, there would have been immediate national outrage.

Nor did anyone wish to raise the taboo topic of inordinate black crime rates, disproportionate to respective demographic realities. In rare interracial violent crimes, the asymmetrical ratio of black-on-white versus white-on-black assaults ranges from three to five times greater.

Seven, the quiet of the left-wing media to the reprehensible violence stands in marked contrast with their usual rush-to-judgment racialism in two near-simultaneous incidents.

When a shooter of mixed African-American heritage recently entered a New York City corporate headquarters and executed four innocents, CNN falsely raised the speculation that a “white male” was perhaps responsible — despite the photograph of the suspect, who was as clearly male as he was not white.

Pro-life Texas GOP lawmaker admits affair with stripper who accused him of paying for ABORTIONS

A pro-life Texas representative has admitted to having an affair with a stripper after she accused him of paying for abortions.

State Rep. Giovanni Capriglione, 52, confessed to having an affair ‘years ago’ after a woman alleged he paid for ‘meetups’ and ‘funded several abortions for his own personal gain,’ reported The Texas Tribune.

The woman, named Alex Grace, came forward with the affair on Friday during an interview with the Current Revolt.

‘I know that Giovannie Capriglione has been having affairs since 2005 because it’s me. I’m her. I’m not proud of it, in fact I’m ashamed of it,’ Grace said on TikTok after the interview came out.

‘Hopefully, you can keep in mind that we all have a past and I wish I could say for him that that was the worst of it, but it’s not.’

Capriglione dropped out of his reelection race just days before Grace’s interview, but has denied paying for any abortions and said he will pursue ‘legal remedies’ over her claims.

‘Years ago, I selfishly had an affair. I’m not proud of this. Thank God my wife and family forgave me, and we moved past it and have the strong marriage we do today,’ he said in a statement.

‘The rest is categorically false and easily disproven… I have never, nor would I ever, pay for an abortion.’

Capriglione promotes himself as a ‘pro-life champion’ with a ‘100 percent pro-life voting record’ on his campaign website.

‘Giovanni voted to defund Planned Parenthood and authored the Abortion Trigger Ban Bill, which banned abortion in Texas when Roe v. Wade was overturned.’

Grace claimed she met Capriglione when she was just 18-years-old and worked as an exotic dancer in 2004.

‘We became close friends. He was magnetizing. He was outwardly genuine and kind,’ she said.

‘He was the one who reminded me to keep my head up. He was the one that encouraged me. He pushed me to succeed more in life.’

Grace described one incident where Capriglione made her receive cash from him at a Chuck E. Cheese.

‘He told me to go to the back of the building and next to the dumpster there would be a rubber mat. And under this rubber mat was an envelope with money,’ she said.

She said they drifted apart after he was elected in 2012, and she claimed she has tried to reach out to him to discuss his political stances.

Dem Senator Flounders When Confronted with His Party’s Deleted ‘Trump’s America X Post

Democratic Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona struggled to defend his party’s recent messaging on inflation during an interview Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union with hosts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.

The interview followed a controversial post by the Democratic Party’s official account on X, which mistakenly blamed President Donald Trump for grocery price increases that occurred entirely during Joe Biden’s administration.

On Thursday, the Democratic Party’s verified X account shared a graphic labeled “Trump’s America” showing sharp increases in grocery prices between 2021 and 2024 — a timeframe during which President Biden was in office.

The post quickly drew criticism online for inadvertently drawing attention to one of the most persistent issues affecting American households under the Biden-Harris administration: rising grocery costs.

Oklahoma’s Trump-Loving, Bible-Thumping Superintendent Faces Porn Probe

An investigation is underway in Oklahoma after a television screen in the MAGA state school superintendent’s office reportedly showed a video of nude women during an executive session of the State Board of Education on Thursday.

The images reportedly appeared on a screen in the office of Ryan Walters, Oklahoma’s far-right Superintendent of Public Instruction. Walters previously told schools to teach the Bible and Ten Commandments, demanded students watch him pray for Donald Trump, and named transphobe Chaya Raichik to a state education committee. He also tried to use state money to purchase bibles for classrooms that matched the specifics of those marketed by the president and his family.

As you might expect, Walters has led a crusade against “pornography” in school libraries.

Two members of the Oklahoma board of education said they were shocked at what they saw on the screen on Thursday.

“I was like, ‘Those are naked women,’” board member Becky Carson told The Oklahoman. “And then I was like, ‘No, wait a minute. Those aren’t naked, surely those aren’t naked women. Something is playing a trick on my eye. Maybe they just have on tan body suits. … This is just really bizarre.’”

“I saw them just walking across the screen, and I’m like, ‘no.” I’m sorry I even have to use this language, but I’m like, ‘Those are her nipples.’ And then I’m like, ‘That’s pubic hair.’ What in the world am I watching? I didn’t watch a second longer.”

Carson told Walters to turn the video off.

“I was so disturbed by it, that I was like — very loudly and boastfully, like I was a parent or a teacher — I said, ‘What is on your TV? What am I watching?’ He was like, ‘What? What are you talking about?’ He stood up and saw it. He made acknowledgment that he saw it,” Carson said, according to NonDoc Media, an Oklahoma news website.  “And I said, ‘Turn it off. Now.’ And he was like, ‘What is this? What is this?’ So he acknowledged it was inappropriate just by those words. And he was like, ‘I can’t get it to turn off. I can’t figure out how to turn it off.’ And I said, ‘Get it turned off.’ So he finally got it turned off, and that was the end of it. He didn’t address it. He didn’t apologize. Nothing was said.”

Three Years Too Late, Kagan Condemns Leftist Threats Against SCOTUS

It only took three years, but Associate Justice Elena Kagan finally found it within herself to condemn leftist threats against her Republican-appointed colleagues — and it’s not hard to guess why.

Speaking at a judicial conference in California on Thursday, the Obama appointee discussed the “threats to personal safety” and an “endangerment of judges.” She specifically referenced the (leftist-led) threats and demonstrations that came about following the leak of the high court’s 2022 Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

“That’s something that my court dealt with … a few years ago when Dobbs came down. When some of my colleagues, like my colleagues on the majority side, were confronted with protests outside their houses, including houses with children in them,” Kagan said, while also mentioning the gunman arrested for attempting to assassinate Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

“That is scary stuff,” she added.

It’s nice to see Kagan criticize the threats and attacks against her Republican-appointed colleagues. It would have been even nicer had she emphatically done so back when it mattered.

As not-so-subtly indicated by Kagan herself during Thursday’s conference, the real reason for her sudden outspokenness on the issue appears to be her anger with President Trump and conservatives’ verbal criticisms of left-wing activists and judges’ weaponization of the legal system to stymie the president’s policy agenda.

Speaking in general terms, Kagan acknowledged that judges are “fair game for all kinds of criticism, strong criticism, pointed criticism, but vilifying judges … is a step beyond and ought to be understood as such.” The Obama appointee subsequently encouraged judges not to allow such pressures — which she dutifully classified as “threats” — to affect their jurisprudence.

“In the face of these sorts of threats to an independent judiciary, judges just need to do what they are obligated to do, which is to do law in the best way they know how to do, make independent, reasoned judgments based on precedent, based on other law, to not be inhibited by any of these threats,” she said.

Kagan’s remarks echo comments issued by her fellow Democrat-appointed colleagues, Associate Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Democratic Party posts Biden-era price hikes in widely-mocked X post attacking Trump

A tweet from the official Democratic Party’s X account was ridiculed on Thursday after inadvertently showing prices skyrocketing under former President Joe Biden.

The post attempted to describe rising grocery prices under “Trump’s America” using a graph dating from October 2019 to 2025. The graph claimed that “U.S. Grocery Prices Reached Record Highs in 2025” with prices “higher today than they were on July 2024” in categories such as dairy, produce and meat.

However, many X users pointed out that the graph, in fact, showed prices skyrocketing in 2021 when Biden was president and only leveling off at the end of 2024 when President Donald Trump was re-elected.

“You’re showing us a graph of stable prices suddenly rising the moment you came into power and then steadily rising higher and higher until Trump was reelected,” political commentator Chad Felix Greene wrote.

The Hypocrisy Of Most Anti-Trump Crusaders Shouldn’t Be Lost On Us — But There Is A Path Forward

It’s no secret that Donald Trump is a wretched human being both inside and outside of the political arena. He is a narcissistic man-child who bullies anyone in his way, with a history of con artistry, an adjudicated rapist with various accusations of sexual assault, and a several decades long connection to an international sex trafficking, pedophile ring, and blackmail operation via the Jeffery Epstein Network which his administration only recently covered up.

Lifelong constitutional scholars such as the impeccable attorney John W Whitehead, the founder of The Rutherford Institute, confirm that Donald Trump is violating the constitution and the scope of presidential power and ethics at every possible turn. Weaponizing federal law enforcement like a despotic strong man with zero concern for civil liberties, further empowering the American police state and expanding the prison industrial complex. All the while bolstering illegal mass surveillance while marching the nation down the road to technocracy.

Still, the fact is and always has been that Trump is merely the naked face of an empire that otherwise keeps itself hidden under a mask. Most so-called leftists would have you believe that Trump’s particular brand of authoritarianism is some exception to the norm, an atypical monstrosity that deviates from the status quo. In reality Trumpianism is just the manifestation of the status quo brought to the forefront for all to see.

It is the exacerbation of what always has been. Trump is crude and brash with his despotism whereas previous figures like Barack Obama, George W Bush, Bill Clinton and so on were always relatively prudent and well spoken with theirs. The kind of despotism of decades past came with an eloquence that brought with it a kind of acquiescence.
