ACLU distributes mailer clearly favoring Dem Jay Jones in Virginia AG race despite policy of not endorsing candidates

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) recently paid for and distributed a left-wing mailer in Virginia regarding the state attorney general race, using language that clearly favors Jones as the candidate, despite the organization having a policy against endorsing or opposing political candidates as a nonprofit organization.

The mailer, which was delivered to multiple locations in Virginia, stated, “The ACLU does not endorse or oppose candidates, but we do want voters to make an informed choice” under a table showing the positions of Jones on Miyares on the topics of abortion, voting rights, federal funding, and Medicaid.

Although the flyer did not explicitly endorse Jones, the ACLU provided multiple direct quotes from the Democrat, who was recently revealed to have wished for the death of GOP politician Todd Gilbert as well as his children. In the portion dedicated to Miyares, no quotes from the GOP politician were cited and the ACLU used left-wing phrasing such as that Miyares wanted to “take away the federal constitutional right to abortion” and painted the AG candidate in a negative light.

On federal funding cuts, the ACLU characterized Miyares negatively, saying that the Virginia AG did not join a wave of left-wing Attorneys General who “challenged federal layoffs that gutted civil rights enforcement and impacted thousands of Virginians.”

Conversely, the ACLU pulled a direct quote from Jones, which was not only a talking point in favor of Jones, but also an attack on Miyares. “While our current AG enables Trump’s attacks on our workforce, I promise to use every tool to protect Virginia federal workers,” the ACLU cited as Jones’ position on federal funding.

One individual reported getting the mailer in Virginia, and posted a video to X, shredding the flyer with the caption, “The only thing to do with the ACLU’s pro Jay Jones mailers.”

How Leftist Think Tanks Twist Facts To Manipulate Congress On Obamacare

As the government shutdown winds on, Democrats continue to hold the federal government hostage because, they claim, “premiums will double” if Congress does not extend Covid-era enhanced Obamacare subsidies.

I’ve debunked that topic in detail here and elsewhere, but to quickly summarize the argument: 1) The federal government will still pay on average 75-80 percent of enrollees’ premiums if the enhanced subsidies expire. 2) Nearly half of Exchange enrollees currently pay nothing in out-of-pocket premiums for benchmark coverage, which the Congressional Budget Office and others have concluded has led to over $10 billion in fraud every year. 3) Focusing on relative (i.e., percentage) increases ignores the comparatively modest effects most Exchange enrollees will face in absolute terms — no more than $50-100 per month on average.

But it’s worth taking a closer look at one of the think tanks pumping up the message about premiums supposedly doubling: KFF, formerly the Kaiser Family Foundation. It’s fair to question whether its messaging has deliberately contributed to confusion regarding this topic in a way that not-so-subtly exaggerates the case for extending the enhanced subsidies.

Inaccurate Graphic

KFF’s September report claimed that “premium payments will more than double” if the enhanced subsidies expire as scheduled. As I previously noted in these pages, this misleading terminology conflates premiums with out-of-pocket costs, which ignores the sizable subsidy the federal government will still provide to most enrollees if the Biden-era portion expires.

If the “premium payments” terminology is misleading, the “premiums will more than double” language moves into the realm of flat-out false and directly contradicts KFF’s own research on premium increases for 2026. So I wrote to KFF staff and asked them, “Do you plan on 1) correcting the graphic, 2) noting the correction on the homepage of your site (i.e., where it is located now) and 3) notifying your press lists of said correction?”

Democrats Exhibit Amnesia About Biden-Era Lawfare

A federal grand jury in Virginia indicted Comey last month for lying to Congress and obstructing a congressional proceeding by “willfully and knowingly” lying to the Senate Judiciary Committee when he testified that he had not “authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports” concerning the FBI’s 2016 investigation of Hillary Clinton’s use of private email for confidential information.

A 2018 inspector general report suggests that the main factual dispute may be whether Comey authorized, or was merely informed of, the leaks.

Documents published by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, CIA director John Ratcliffe, and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley show that while serving as Barak Obama’s FBI director and then Trump’s first FBI director, Comey used the Steele dossier, which he knew to be unsubstantiated Clinton campaign disinformation, to obtain warrants to spy on the Trump campaign, doctor an intelligence assessment to falsely claim the purpose of Russian interference in the 2016 election was to benefit Trump, and entrap Trump National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.

Grassley also issued reports establishing that Comey gave Clinton special treatment during the investigation of her emails and intended to exonerate her even before her FBI interview.

This month, Letitia James was indicted for filing a fraudulent mortgage application that described an investment property she was purchasing in Norfolk, Virginia, as her second home. By doing so, she allegedly reduced her interest and fees by $18,933 over the life of the loan.

James ran for Attorney General in New York on the promise that she would “get Trump.” When she was unable to find grounds to pursue criminal charges, she made unprecedented use of a consumer fraud law to pursue Trump for allegedly defrauding Deutsche Bank by overstating the value of Mar-a-Lago. Judge Arthur Engoron implausibly found that Mar-a-Lago’s $18 million tax assessment was its true value. Though Deutsche Bank officials testified they were not defrauded, lost no money, and would happily again work with Trump, Engoron banned the Trump family from doing business in New York, and imposed a penalty that, with interest, topped $500 million.

James vigorously sought to execute the judgement and foreclose on Trump’s properties. An appellate court stepped in, reducing Trump’s appeal bond to $175 million, and later throwing out the financial penalty.

Both indictments were secured by former Trump lawyer Lindsey Halligan, appointed to serve as interim U.S. attorney in Virginia when experienced prosecutor Erik Seibert declined to pursue the cases, and came just days after Trump posted a caustic text on Truth Social directing Attorney General Pam Bondi to prosecute Comey and James.

Democrats have been more muted about last week’s indictment in Maryland of former Trump National Security Advisor John Bolton for mishandling classified information.

I previously wrote about Democrats’ hypocrisy in objecting to investigations of their colleagues who engaged in lawfare against Trump and his supporters, though I cautioned the administration against prosecutions based on laws that are not traditionally enforced.

The facts suggest the three cases are indeed retribution. That does not void the indictments. Every lawyer is taught that the purpose of criminal justice is rehabilitation, retribution, and deterrence. Rather, the issue is whether these are selective prosecutions of laws that are not enforced against others. That is difficult to establish, particularly for these laws and by officials who hold a public trust.

Leftists Downplay Dem’s Nazi Tattoo After Calling Hegseth’s Christian Ink ‘White Nationalist’

he propaganda press was sick less than a year ago over a tattoo of the Jerusalem Cross on Pete Hegseth’s chest. They called his Christian markings “white supremacist and extremist,” as they tried to derail his confirmation for secretary of defense. Some mistakenly thought the cross was a Nazi swastika. It isn’t.

Now the press is making excuses for the actual Nazi symbol that was tattooed on Maine’s Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner’s chest. Platner would challenge Republican incumbent Sen. Susan Collins, if he can make it through the primary against Maine Gov. Janet Mills.

Platner got a large skull and crossbones in the style of the Nazi’s SS Totenkopf (death head) on his chest in 2007 while he was a Marine in Croatia. It was worn by Nazi guards at concentration camps and is considered a hate symbol, according to the Anti-Defamation League.

MSNBC found Platner’s tattoo, and some heinous things he said on Reddit (like, cops are “bastards”; white rural Americans are “racist” and “stupid”; black people “don’t tip”) merely “a political stress test.” None of it disqualifies him for office in their eyes.

Platner shared a video of himself topless on Pod Save America, saying opposition research had found the video. He tried to get ahead of it on Monday by explaining the tattoo on a friendly podcast. Pod Save America Host Tommy Vietor is the former national security spokesman for President Barack Obama.

After the terrible tat was exposed this week, Platner claimed he did not know it was a Nazi symbol and rushed to have it covered up. Is it conceivable that in the 18 years he has had that tattoo, he never looked up the image? That no one ever mentioned it to him?

“I’m From the Hood, OK?!” – Texas Democrat State Rep. Jolanda Jones Says She Will Slash Republicans Across the Throat if They Bully Her

A Democrat state lawmaker went on CNN on Wednesday evening and threatened to slash Republicans’ throats.

And CNN didn’t push back at all.

Jolanda Jones, a Texas State Democrat Rep. who is running for a US House seat, went on CNN and told host Erin Burnett that she’s going to get violent with Republicans because she’s from the ‘hood,’

“I’m from the hood, okay!? So when the bully comes like – if there are no rules you have to figure it out so Donald Trump has changed things,” Jones said.

She continued, “And I think that’s why Democrats are losing black people. That’s why they’re losing poor people.”

“Because with poor people, all they want is for us to fight, so if you hit me in my face, I’m not gonna punch you back in your face I’m gonna go across your neck.”

“You gotta hit hard enough where they won’t come back and so yeah, for the same way that I went to New York and spoke with governor Kathy Hochul and said that if they’re gonna try to wipe up out in Texas, we need to wipe out every Republican in New York and California, and Illinois,” she said.

Jolanda Jones didn’t take Michelle Obama’s advice. She said if they go low, I’m going to get in the gutter.

Erin Burnett sat there and did not push back on Jolanda Jones at all.

Democratic National Committee STILL Struggling to Pay Off Kamala Harris Campaign Debt Nearly a Year Later

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is still struggling to repay Kamala Harris’s campaign debt almost a year after the 2024 election.

The amazing thing about this, is that it’s a reminder that Harris had a campaign war chest of more than a billion dollars, a massive sum for a political campaign, and yet she still lost and she still incurred millions of dollars in campaign debt.

It really is a testament to what an absolutely awful candidate she was and still is. If she runs again in 2028, she will probably be torpedoed by Democrat voters during the primary.

The New York Post has the story on her 2024 campaign debt:

DNC pays off $1.6M in debt for Kamala Harris’ failed campaign as Dems face tight race in New Jersey

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is still paying off shortfalls incurred by former Vice President Kamala Harris’ failed 2024 election campaign — with at least $1.6 million paid out in September alone, according to the latest federal filings.

The Harris campaign shelled out $1.49 million alone for media production and consulting, $106,312 for data services and $21,762 to rent space at a Grand Rapids, Mich. community center for an October 2024 event alongside billionaire investor Mark Cuban touting the Democratic nominee as the “pro-business candidate.”

Last month’s payouts push the total debt covered since Election Day to more than $20 million, according to Axios, which first reported on the Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings.

Former President Barack Obama’s successful 2012 campaign incurred a similar level of debt that the DNC three years to fully pay off, with former chairwoman Donna Brazile claiming the 44th commander-in-chief’s “neglect had left the party in significant debt.”

Harris made a “handshake deal” with the national party after Donald Trump defeated her this past November, under which the DNC agreed to cover $20.5 million in outstanding campaign bills, The New York Times reported in August.

It’s amazing that Harris was able to burn through so much cash in such a short period of time. It does not speak well of her, either.

New York AG Urges Public to Send Footage of ICE Raids

New York State’s attorney general on Wednesday called on the public to send her office photos, videos, and other documentation of federal immigration operations for review, just a day after an enforcement operation targeted street vendors in Manhattan’s Chinatown turned to chaos as protestors confronted agents.

Attorney General Letitia James said her office would comb over footage and further documentation of federal immigration operations via a “Federal Action Reporting Form,” stating that “every New Yorker has the right to live without fear or intimidation.”

James has also requested that New Yorkers submit photos or videos of Tuesday’s enforcement operation in Chinatown to her office, so that her office can determine if any laws were broken.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said James’s call for videos and photos “looks like obstruction of justice.”

The immigration enforcement operation took place on New York City’s Canal Street, a well-known area with a reputation for street vendors selling imitation goods, sparking resistance from city residents, many of whom were seemingly on their way home from work.

Shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, federal agents began the operation, with an Associated Press reporter saying they saw dozens of agents detain a street vendor.

Protestors encircled the officers and tried to prevent their vehicles from leaving while shouting “ICE out of New York” and calling on other pedestrians to join in the protest.

Agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Border Patrol, and other federal agencies then attempted to disperse the crowd. The confrontation grew, and an unknown number of federal agents retreated on foot, which was cheered on by protestors and honking cars. Federal reinforcements with long guns and tactical gear then arrived on scene.

“During this law enforcement operation, rioters who were shouting obscenities became violent and obstructed law enforcement duties, including blocking vehicles and assaulting law enforcement,” McLaughlin said.

Altogether, federal authorities said 14 people—illegal immigrants and demonstrators—were arrested in Tuesday’s operation, including illegal immigrants from Mali, Senegal, Mauritania, and Guinea. Some had prior criminal arrest histories.

Four people were arrested for allegedly assaulting law enforcement, and another for obstruction of justice, according to DHS.

After Years of Calling Everyone Else Hitler, Democrats Suddenly Excuse Their Candidate’s Nazi Tattoo

The Democratic Party has spent the better part of a decade finding “Nazi dog whistles” in the most innocuous of places, including a blue jeans ad featuring Sydney Sweeney.

If you ask them, they’ll gladly tell you that Republican presidents from Ronald Reagan to Donald Trump are just like Hitler. Robert De Niro thinks Trump advisor Stephen Miller, a Jew, is a Nazi. Back when President Trump nominated Pete Hegseth for Secretary of War, the Left made a big point of claiming his Christian tattoos were actually symbols of “white supremacy” and — you guessed it — Nazism.

But suddenly, Nazi imagery doesn’t seem to matter quite so much to Democrats. Not now that Graham Platner, a Democrat running to unseat Republican Senator Susan Collins in Maine, revealed he had a rather large Nazi symbol tattooed on his chest.

Platner’s excuse was that he was inebriated and on shore leave, and Democrats have spent the past 48 hours dismissing the troublesome ink as a distraction from the campaign. Even Bernie Sanders said it wasn’t a big deal. We doubt he’d be so blase about a Republican sporting such body art.

It’s one thing to think you’re getting the Chinese character for “peace” tattooed on your bicep. It’s another to get a literal Nazi skull inked on your chest.

As to the comment about “s**tposting” online, Democrats spent years pushing cancel culture on those young men.

An “authentic working-class party” would not want to be represented by someone like Platner and his Nazi tats. Then again, Vigeland is also the person who laughed at the traumatic brain injury inflicted on a teenage volleyball player by a “trans girl,” so perhaps she’s not the best judge of character.

But Vigeland wasn’t the only one. Journalist Ryan Grim is fine with Democrats embracing guys like Platner, too.

Democrats Take Their War on ICE Agents to the Next Level

The Democratic Party has declared war on ICE. From calling the government agency “Nazis,” the “Gestapo,” and even “slave drivers,” it’s clear the Dems have no intention of letting the brave men and women of one of our federal law enforcement agencies do their jobs in peace.

At the beginning of October, Apple removed the ICEBlock app from its stores after a Leftist fired shots at the ICE facility in Dallas, killing two detained migrants.

Undeterred, and perhaps bolstered by such violence, the Democratic Party announced it would be hosting a “master” ICE-tracker on its website.

“Over the course of the next couple of weeks, the Oversight Committee will be launching on their website a master ICE tracker,” said California Rep. Robert Garcia (D-42). “Essentially, tracking every single instance that we can verify, that the community will be able to send us information on.”

What could possibly go wrong here?

A Waukesha, WI alderman was just fired from his Catholic school teaching gig after he wrongly identified a group of White men as ICE agents and doxxed them online. Democrats have pushed to unmask ICE agents so their radical Leftist base can target and harass the men and women enforcing our immigration laws, and target their families as well.

SHOCK: Top House Democrat Says the Quiet Part Out Loud on Govt Shutdown: Families will “Suffer” But “It is One of the Few Leverage Times We Have”

Today is day 22 of the Schumer Shutdown.

The Schumer Shutdown began on October 1, and the Senate has voted 12 times – and failed 12 times – to reopen the government because Schumer wants to give illegal aliens healthcare.

Instead of working with Republicans to responsibly extend funding until November, Schumer and the Democrats chose a shutdown.

The House has been out of session for a month.

Layoffs of federal employees officially began a couple of weeks ago as the U.S. government shutdown entered another tense phase, according to Trump administration budget chief Russell Vought, who confirmed the sweeping reductions in a social media post.

President Trump on Tuesday held the line and said Republicans will not be “extorted” as the Democrats demand taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens.

House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (MA) said the quiet part out loud on the Schumer Shutdown during an interview with Fox News Congress reporter Chad Pergram.

The interview with Katherine Clark was published by Fox News last week but it was making the rounds on Wednesday.

“Fighting for healthcare is our defining issue,” Clark said.

“The marketplace, the ACA marketplace, open enrollment takes place on Nov. 1,” Clark whined.

“People are receiving their premium notices that they’re going to go to that marketplace and say, ‘I can’t afford this.’ That is a real crisis for American families. And it drives up the cost of healthcare for every single person, no matter where you get your health insurance from,” she said.

Then Clark said the quiet part out loud.

“Shutdowns are terrible and, of course, there will be, you know, families that are going to suffer,” she said.

“We take that responsibility very seriously. But it is one of the few leverage items we have. It is an inflection point in this budget process where we have tried to get the Republicans to meet with us and prioritize the American people,” Clark said.
