Maxine Waters Suggests People in California Can’t Get Services Because the Rich ‘One Percent’ Don’t Pay Their ‘Fair Share’ in Taxes

California Congresswoman Maxine Waters appeared on NewsNation this week to talk about the devastating fires in her state.

Waters, who never missed an opportunity to be politically toxic during Trump’s first term, has been conspicuously quiet since the 2024 election. During her appearance with Chris Cuomo, she claimed that she did not want to talk about Democrat vs. Republican. Cuomo correctly points out to her that politics is involved here because California’s governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass are both Democrats.

Waters then pivots to the victims of the fires and suggests that some of California’s richest people, the one percent, are not paying their ‘fair share’ in taxes. California has the highest taxes in the country.

“The first thing we’ve got to understand is, services cost money and we should be willing to get the richest people in this country, the richest 1% that is protected, make sure they pay their fair taxes so that we can have the money to provide the services. With that money and with those resources, the people who have been selected or elected to do the job should do the job.

I don’t care who it is. It could be Democrat, it could be Republican, it could be whatever. But the fact of the matter is, we all should have heavy hearts right now, but we should have faith and we should be on point by making sure that we do everything to help the people that need us. Dammit, you can do the politics later. You can come and talk about Gavin Newsom later. You can talk about the Democrats later.”

DESPICABLE: Democrats Including Elizabeth Warren Allegedly Caught Raising Money to Boost Scandal-Plagued Dem Fundraising Platform Under Guise of Helping California Fire Victims

Democrats never fail to let a crisis go to waste, even if it means the victims potentially getting shortchanged.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, a massive 3,000-acre wildfire raged out of control and engulfed homes in Pacific Palisades, California, on Tuesday afternoon. Shocking and heartbreaking footage has emerged showing people abandoning their cars and running for their lives.

Tragically, several individuals have lost their homes, entire livelihoods, and even their lives over the past several days as fires have spread all across Southern California and show no signs of abating. Meanwhile, firefighters are having issues with water pressure thanks to politicians.

On Friday evening, the leftist Democrat hosts for the podcast Pod Save America announced on X they were hosting California Governor Gavin Newsom to let him continue to blame everyone but himself for the catastrophic wildfires destroying Southern California. Shortly afterward that post, they posted another one where their followers could supposedly ‘help’ the victims of the wildfires.

The post reads, “If you want to help those impacted by the California wildfires, please donate at http://votesaveamerica.com/relief. ”

During their show with Newsom, they also encouraged donors to pony up to help the victims as well.

Not to be outdone, Democratic politicians, including Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), joined the fray.

While this sounds like a nice gesture at first glance, it turns out to be a mirage once one clicks on the donation link. Viewers are sent to a Democratic political action committee/fundraising platform’s website called ActBlue.

Senate Democrats Mocked Over Cringeworthy Video Where They Suddenly Claim to be Fighting for Average Americans

Senate Democrats are trying to rebrand themselves. After years of constantly working to stop anything Trump wanted to do, they suddenly want everyone to know that they are not here to be ‘against’ anyone.

They suddenly claim to want you to be able to keep more of your paycheck and that they want to work to bring down the cost of living.

The video that they produced to deliver this message is pure cringe and they are getting dragged for it on social media.

Senate Democrats released a video on Thursday to message their priorities ahead of President-elect Donald Trump taking office, however the video was met with criticism for being out of touch and “cringe.”

Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J. shared the video on his X account and captioned with, “Senate Democrats are here to fight for you.”

In the video, Senate Democrats spoke directly to the camera, promising to work with “anyone” that would make life better but would oppose President-elect Donald Trump and Republicans if they “do things to hurt you.”

Several Democratic senators, who are from close states or are up for re-election, were noticeably absent from the video. Sens. John Fetterman, Pa., Jeanne Shaheen, N.H., Maggie Hassan, N.H., Ruben Gallego, Ariz., Mark Kelly, Ariz., Jon Ossoff, Ga., Gary Peters, Mich., Chris Murphy, Conn., did not appear in the video.

Democrat Megadonor Couple With Monopoly On Calif. Water Supply Blamed For Exacerbating LA Fires

Amid the deadly fires currently devastating Los Angeles, California, a widely circulated video reveals that a husband and wife known for their significant donations to the Democratic Party have been diverting hundreds of billions of gallons of water annually.

The “More Perfect Union” presentation exposes Lynda and Stewart Resnick for essentially taking over the California water industry decades ago.

According to the nonprofit newsroom, the Resnicks seized control of California’s public water supply via a series of secret meetings back in 1994.

After Golden State taxpayers footed the bill for the Kern Water Bank, the couple eventually gained a 60% ownership of the water resource.

The Resnicks also have a stake in several other major water banks throughout the state.

Now, the power couple sells the state’s water back to the very citizens who have a right to the natural commodity.

Of course, donating massive amounts of money to California Democrat politicians such as Gavin Newsom and Dianne Feinstein ensures their monopoly stays intact.

In addition to funding leftist politicians, the Resnicks donate huge sums to the University of California system in exchange for collegiate departments releasing studies that suggest federal and state taxpayer dollars be used to fund water projects that further benefit the family’s H2O enterprise.

Ana Kasparian, the liberal co-host and producer of The Young Turks, shared the “More Perfect Union” report on 𝕏 and lambasted Democrat officials in L.A. for draining water supplies.

Guess Who Is Already Talking About Impeaching Trump Again

Donald Trump is set to make history on January 20, becoming the 47th president of the United States. After winning both the Electoral College and the popular vote, he enters this term with a stronger mandate than his first. Yet as sure as the sun rises, Democrats are gearing up for their favorite pastime: impeaching Trump.

Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) has already signaled as much. During an interview on CNN, Dana Bash pressed him on balancing governance with his previous focus on investigations into Trump’s conduct, and Schiff vowed to “push back” against Trump for any perceived “abuse of power.” 

Schiff responded hesitantly, initially stumbling over his words. “Well, I — look, I think we hope for the best. We keep a focus on trying to get positive, affirmative things done for the country,” he said. However, he quickly pivoted, adding, “But a lot will depend on how he chooses to govern. If he violates the law, if he violates the Constitution, if he abuses his office, we will vigorously push back, fight back, stand up to him, as we had to do during his first term in office.”

Schiff added, “My priority is to try to get things done for my California constituents.” Still, he noted that his constituents also “expect me to stand up to him when he attacks the Constitution or their freedom.”

Illinois Governor ‘Tremendously Disappointed’ By Failure Of Hemp Product Restriction Bill Amid Democratic Infighting

A bill that would have imposed regulations on new types of intoxicating substances derived from hemp stalled in the Illinois House Tuesday, dealing a political setback to Gov. JB Pritzker (D) after he strongly supported the legislation.

“I was tremendously disappointed,” Pritzker said at an unrelated news conference Tuesday, after it became clear the bill would not be called for a vote in the House. “This is a demonstration, from my perspective, of the power of special interests and the money that they spread around to thwart health and safety of the public.”

But the bill also created rifts within the House Democratic caucus. According to several sources, the hemp regulation bill was the focus of a three-hour, closed-door caucus meeting Monday that some House members described afterwards as “spirited” but others described as “raucous.”

Pritzker also called Democratic House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch’s decision not to call the bill “irresponsible,” saying he believed it would have passed with a bipartisan majority had he done so. And he criticized House Democrats for the treatment of members of his staff who appeared at Monday’s caucus meeting.

But Welch’s spokesperson noted that he is a cosponsor of the bill and would continue working to pass it in the new legislative session that begins Wednesday.

“A lengthy caucus discussion found that the bill in its current form did not have enough support within the House Democratic Caucus,” the spokesperson said. “He is committed to continuing discussions so that when the bill ultimately passes, it is the best possible piece of legislation for the state of Illinois.”

Democrats slammed after 159 vote against Republican bill allowing ICE to deport illegal migrants who steal

House Democrats are getting skewered after 159 voted against the Laken Riley Act, a bill that would more easily allow illegal migrant criminals to be deported. 

The legislation, which passed with bipartisan support 264 – 159, was named to honor the late Laken Riley, 22, a college student who was murdered by repeat criminal Jose Ibarra.

Ibarra, a Venezuelan national, had entered the U.S. illegally and committed numerous crimes before eventually murdering the nursing student in February 2024. 

Ibarra was arrested in New York for endangering a child and was cited in Georgia for shoplifting, but wasn’t detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) before Riley’s murder despite being known to authorities. 

He was later convicted in November of 10 charges, including murder, kidnapping, aggravated assault with intent to rape and more for Riley’s death. 

The Laken Riley Act requires ICE to detain migrants who have been charged with theft and other crimes. It also enables individual states to sue the federal government if it or its citizens are harmed by immigration related actions. 

On Tuesday, 159 Democrats voted against the Laken Riley Act.

‘What in the world? 159 Democrats voted against the Laken Riley act. Why would you in favor of rapists and murderers?’ Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., said on X after the vote.

Democrats Screw Over Working-Class Americans, and You Better Thank Them for It

I regret to inform you that left-wing governance has struck again. In New York City, sky-high, around-the-clock “congestion pricing” has been put into effect for a large portion of Manhattan. That means working-class individuals will now be forced to shell out $9.00 every single time they cross 60th Street, with even higher fees for commercial vehicles. 

No worries, though. This is all for their good because this is supposedly going to raise $15,000,000,000 for “mass transit improvements.” In other words, you’ll ride the subway, and you’ll like it.

What blows my mind about this is how openly manipulative it is. New York City has taken multiple lanes of almost every road in Manhattan and turned them into inefficient, little-used bike lanes. That is certainly a major factor in the increase in congestion. Yet, instead of just getting rid of the bike lanes as any sane person would do, Democrats have decided the best way forward is to gouge drivers to force them onto their garbage subway system. 

That would be the same system where a woman was burned alive recently. Never mind what happened to Daniel Penny, who was thankfully acquitted after he was charged with manslaughter and negligent homicide for protecting people from a threatening vagrant.

Washington State Democrats Accidentally Leak Their ‘Radical’ Tax Plan

Washington State Democrats accidentally leaked their radical tax plan to the entire upper chamber in Olympia on Thursday.

According to Seattle-based radio host Jason Rantz, Washington state Democrats accidentally emailed their radical tax plan to the entire senate.

The tax plan, which includes major property tax hikes and a new 11% tax on firearms, directly contradicts the state Democrats’ campaign promises, Jason Rantz said.

Washington state Democrats appeared to have accidentally emailed their sweeping revenue plans and internal talking points on tax hikes to the entirety of the upper chamber’s members in Olympia, Fox News has learned.

Property tax hikes and a new double-digit tax on firearms are among proposals Washington state Democrats are considering, according to materials originally disseminated to all members by Washington Senate Deputy Floor Leader Noel Frame, D-Seattle, in late December and later obtained by Fox News Digital.

A document titled “2025 Revenue Options” and a PowerPoint presentation describing how to talk to constituents in defense of the plan were included in the messages.

Be Warned: The Dems Aren’t Finished Hatching Schemes to Keep Trump From Taking Office

Throughout the 2024 campaign, Democrats insisted that we simply had to vote for Kamala Harris or else the nation would descend into the fascist rule of Bad Orange Man, the most dangerous enemy of “our democracy” since the reigns of terror of his good friends and role models Adolf Hitler and Genghis Khan. It was all bunkum, of course, and an extended use of the old tactic of accusing the enemy of what they were guilty of doing, as it was the Biden-Harris regime that took actual steps to criminalize opposition to its policies. And now, even after their disastrous electoral defeat, the defenders of democracy are still hatching plans to subvert the will of the people and prevent Donald Trump from returning to the Oval Office. 

The Daily Caller reported Friday that political analyst Mark Halperin has warned that “as President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration approaches, efforts to block him from assuming office will intensify.” As prophecies go, this is an easy one, more on the order of “The sun will rise tomorrow morning” than, say, “The Chicago White Sox will win the 2025 World Series.” As the great leftist-turned-patriot David Horowitz correctly noted, “Inside every progressive is a totalitarian screaming to get out.” And so the most suitable response to Halperin’s prediction can only be “Well, duh.” 

The Caller pointed out that “in a Thursday column for The Hill, liberal attorneys Evan Davis and David Schulte argued that Congress can still prevent Trump from taking office on Jan. 20 by rejecting electoral votes on Jan. 6, claiming Trump is disqualified under the 14th Amendment.” As our friend Matt Margolis noted, also on Thursday, Davis and Schulte don’t “cover much new ground.” Their column “references Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which disqualifies individuals who have engaged in insurrection from holding office, despite the fact that Trump did no such thing. Heck, he hasn’t even been charged with such an offense, and when you consider the fact that rogue left-wing prosecutors have charged him with all sorts of made-up crimes, that says something.” 

Still, the fact that leftists are still floating this 14th Amendment nonsense indicates that they’re still trying to figure out some way to prevent Trump from walking back into the Oval Office on Jan. 20, 2025. Halperin observed: “It seems ill-timed, not just not in the spirit of the holiday season, but also given where we are in the transition cycle … we’re gonna see more of this. I think the left has been a little bit shocked by the election results. And I think as the reality of January 20th gets closer, I think you’ll see more opinionizing just like this.” 

Halperin maintained that in scheming to thwart the will of the people, leftists were simply acting in accord with the will of the people. Asked why The Hill ran such an article, he answered: “I try not to speculate on people’s motives if I don’t have reporting, so I don’t really know. But again, The Hill likes to get attention, so that could be part of it. But it also reflects a point of view that’s held by tens of millions of Americans … I think that you’re gonna see more manifestations like this as we get closer to inauguration day.” 

The problem is that leftists have floated this insurrection business before, and gotten nowhere. As Matt pointed out, Trump hasn’t been convicted of leading or supporting an insurrection. In fact, he hasn’t even been charged with doing so, and the Democrats certainly would have done so if they had thought they could get away with it. Many people don’t believe that what happened on Jan. 6, 2021, was an insurrection at all. Thus if Trump were really barred from taking office on those grounds, it would be a case of leftists going way out on a limb on the basis of a tangle of unsupported and highly partisan assertions.
