Citizens Face $2,000 Energy Bill Increase as Dem Gov’s Green Energy Push Moves Forward: Report

One the country’s bluest regions is learning about the high cost of going green.

Customers of New York’s Consolidated Edison, the electric and gas utility that services New York City, is proposing a massive rate increase that would cost Big Apple customers paying utility bills almost $2,000 more a year than they did in 2020, the New York Post reported Thursday.

And the company blames energy mandates imposed by the New York state government, led by Gov. Kathy Hochul, for the hikes.

The proposed rates are being reviewed by the state Public Service Commission, the Post reported

And one former member of that commission told the newspaper the hikes are a sign that the state is headed in the wrong direction.

“We have to take a breath,” former Commission John Howard said, according to the Post.

“We’re not telling Mr. and Mrs. New York how much this transition to clean energy will cost them.”

The Post based its figures on customers using 600 kilowatt-hours per month — the average for New York state households, according to the electricity marketplace website Electricchoice.com.

Con Ed officials argued that New York City customers use less electricity than others in the state and claimed the Post’s figures were too high — that its proposal would amount to a hike of 15.7 percent, or about $46.42 to $289.41 per month, but there’s no denying that a rate increase is a rate increase.

And there’s no denying that New York’s Democratic-run state government has a mania for electricity mandates.

New Jersey Climate Lawsuit Dismissed with Prejudice: Court Rejects Baseless Claims Against Oil Giants Causing Climate Change

A New Jersey lawsuit accusing major oil companies of contributing to climate change has been dismissed.

The lawsuit, spearheaded by New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin in 2022, targeted industry behemoths like ExxonMobil, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Phillips 66, Shell, and the American Petroleum Institute.

It alleged that their operations exacerbated climate-related damages across the state.

According to the lawsuit:

Plaintiffs assert that Defendants have engaged in a decades-long campaign to discredit the science of global warming, conceal the dangers posed by their fossil fuel products, and misrepresent their efforts to combat climate change.

They claim that despite knowing about the adverse climate impacts of their products since the 1950s, Defendants failed to adequately warn consumers, the public, and decision-makers about these risks.

Defendants are alleged to have engaged in deceptive marketing practices, including promoting fossil fuel products as environmentally friendly or “clean,” while downplaying their role in contributing to climate change.

Plaintiffs contend that these deceptive campaigns have led to an increase in greenhouse gas pollution, resulting in sea-level rise, extreme weather events, and other climate change impacts that have affected New Jersey residents.

The decision, delivered on Wednesday by Superior Court Judge Douglas Hurd, concluded that these legally operating companies could not be held accountable for global emissions.

The dismissal, rendered with prejudice, firmly shuts the door on any possibility of reopening the case.

Gavin Newsom to Victims of California Fires: ‘You Can’t Rebuild the Same, Have to Rebuild With Climate Reality in Mind’

Last month, comedian Adam Carolla went viral in a video where he talked about how horrible the rebuild process would be for the victims of the California fires because of progressive policies in the state. Carolla said:

So here’s what’s going to happen. All these people who are deep blue Democrats are now going to have to pull a permit to rebuild, and they’re going to get the 28 year old bitch from the Coastal Commission telling them to go fuck off and then they’re going to vote for Trump or whoever’s Trumpian next.

When they start getting the regulation, they’re going to go nuts. And when they start running into the bureaucracy and the red tape, they’re going to start going nuts and they’re going to vote for Rick Caruso next time.

California Governor Gavin Newsom tried to get out in front of this and said that the red tape would be cut and building permits would flow freely in order for these people to rebuild their lives and their homes.

And yet…

Gavin Newsom just appeared on CNN and explained that people ‘can’t rebuild the same.’ Newsom suggests that there is a new reality due to the ‘science’ and climate change, and that all of that has to be taken into account as people rebuild.

In other words, Adam Carolla was right. Newsom and other authorities in California may be handing out building permits, but it’s pretty clear that there will still be red tape and new rules for rebuilding.

WHY the War on Farmers?

The recent Telegraph headline rang out of England recently with unsettling tones: Tenth of farmland to be axed for net zero

More than 10 per cent of farmland in England is set to be diverted towards helping to achieve net zero and protecting wildlife by 2050, the Environment Secretary will reveal on Friday.

Swathes of the countryside are on course to be switched to solar farms, tree planting and improving habitats for birds, insects and fish.

The move comes on the back of an aggressive and highly unpopular inheritance tax placed on generational farmers by British politician Rachel Reeves that has drawn sustained protest in the country. The commercial officer of Britain’s largest supermarket chain Tesco warned Reeves’ tax raid on farmers is placing “UK’s future food security is at stake.

What if that’s the whole point? Tucker Carlson recently asked Piers Morgan this uncomfortable question.

Leftist Leader In Germany Suggests Asylum For Millions Of ‘Climate Refugees’

The leader of the Left Party in Germany has suggested that the country could grant asylum to a million migrants a year in order to protect them from “the consequences of climate change.”

During an interview with Funke Media Group, Jan van Aken said that Germany accepting a million new migrants every year was “a completely manageable number.”

Asserting that tens of millions will have to flee their homes over the next few decades due to global warming, Van Aken said Germany should be a safe haven for those “who are feeling the consequences of climate change.”

“The climate catastrophe is already making entire regions uninhabitable – for example in Pakistan or Bangladesh,” he added, two countries which have a combined population of 200 million people.

Van Aken made the call despite Germany suffering ongoing problems with soaring migrant crime, an economy in meltdown and a housing crisis.

As we document in the video below, the basic safety of women walking the streets has also been placed in dire jeopardy.

The Threat of Carbon Capture

The “climate hoax” and “Green New Scam,” as President Donald Trump calls them, have spawned countless bad ideas and even worse policies.

In the transglobal elite’s attempt to direct the world’s economy by controlling average people, they have pushed an idiotic and dangerous vision of the nations of the world going net zero. I’m sure it’s purely coincidence that the policies developed to meet net zero just happen to benefit those same elites financially and in terms of political power.

Among the net zero policies pushed by the former Biden-Harris administration were de facto electric vehicle mandates, greenhouse gas restrictions forcing the premature closure of reliable coal-fueled power plants, and restrictions on the types of home appliances that could be sold.

One policy pushed by the net zero cabal that has gotten relatively little attention is mandated Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). Under this scheme, carbon dioxide emissions are captured and then transported via a spiderweb of pipelines to underground reservoirs to be stored permanently.

Carbon capture has long been used in the oil and gas industry, but the CO2 is not stored. Rather, it is pumped in to marginal or flagging wells where it enhances oil recovery. This is not permanent storage.

The whole motive for CCS, the uneconomic capture for permanent storage rather than use, is to fight climate change and hit net zero. The fossil fuel industry, particularly coal, has embraced it as a lifeline allowing them to continue to operate, a lifeline that happens to come with generous subsidies.

Trump Reportedly Tells USDA To Remove All Climate Change Propaganda From Their Websites By End of Day Today

On December 3, 2024, Project Veritas released a video showing a top EPA advisor telling the undercover reporter that they are funneling billions to Climate Organizations as an ‘Insurance Policy’ against President Trump.

“We’re Throwing Gold Bars off the Titanic…”

Well, as an insurance policy against unsettled science, President Trump has issued an order to the USDA, telling them that they are to remove all climate change “propaganda from their websites “no later than close of business day on Friday (today).”

Politico was first to report on the memo after three sources confirmed they received an email on Thursday afternoon giving them an end-of-day Friday deadline to abide by his order.

The green agenda is about getting rid of as many humans as possible

For those that are attempting to fight climate change, fighting population growth is one of their number one goals.  They tell us that on average each additional human produces approximately 4 tons of carbon dioxide per year.  So many true believers in this agenda are convinced that reducing population growth is the most important thing that they can do for the environment.  In recent years, an increasing number of young people have been getting sterilized, the number of childless couples in the western world has reached an all-time high, and assisted suicide has been legalized in more nations.  Of course abortion continues to be a really big issue as well.  Since 1973, abortion has reduced the population of the globe by 1.5 billion.  But even though they have made so much “progress” on their agenda, they are not even close to satisfied.  During the WEF’s meetings in Davos, Switzerland this year, the fight against climate change is taking center stage.  The following comes from the official WEF website

The World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos is bringing together leaders to forge innovative partnerships and dialogue to enable investments in climate and clean technologies – and work towards achieving equitable, secure and sustainable energy systems.

The week’s sessions come as US President Donald Trump has issued an executive order to pull the country out of the Paris Agreement. In many respects, the attitude has been one of ‘business as usual’ with participants describing a situation where climate activity is so entrenched that policy and action towards net zero and the shift to decarbonization will continue, regardless.

Did you catch the point of that second paragraph?

They believe that their agenda has become “so entrenched” that not even President Trump can do anything about it.

The storm that shattered Ireland’s energy security

One of the most powerful weather events in Ireland’s history plunged the country into chaos last week. Bet you didn’t hear much about it, either, as it was hardly mentioned in the North American press. Still, the implications of its aftermath and what it reveals about the ‘green’ movement are a warning for any nation still gripped by obviously flawed climate ideology.

Storm Éowyn wreaked havoc across Ireland, with winds of over 100 mph downing power lines, flooding roads, and damaging renewable energy infrastructure. Hundreds of thousands of people were left without electricity for days in freezing winter conditions. Many people — up to 168,000 — are still without heat or light as of this writing, exposing the nation’s alarming dependence on electricity to meet basic needs.

More poignantly, the storm laid bare the vulnerabilities of renewable energy infrastructure. Thousands of wind turbines in the North Sea were forced offline because the power generated by the storm’s extreme winds risked overwhelming the electricity grid. “Constraint payments” were made to wind farm operators, compensating them for halting production — a cost ultimately passed on to consumers. This system, which guarantees profits for renewable energy companies regardless of output, highlights the flawed economic model underpinning Europe’s green energy push.

This inefficiency underscores a glaring and paradoxical tension: current energy generation systems being pushed under the banner of climate change are far from ready to meet the demands of extreme weather events, which climate activists frequently remind us are expected to increase.

California Democrat Proposes Legislation to Sue Oil Companies Over Wildfires That Had NOTHING to Do With Them

Scott Weiner, a Democratic State Senator in California, is introducing legislation that would allow people to sue oil companies over the wildfires that have ravaged the state in recent weeks.

This is typical Democrat political sleight of hand.

Oil companies had NOTHING to do with the destructive nature of these fires. If people want to sue someone, they should sue the Democrats who run the state and completely dropped the ball on being ready for these entirely predictable fires.

It’s amazing that this is even real.

From CBS News:

A newly proposed California state law would create a new pathway for victims of wildfires and insurance companies to sue oil companies over climate change.

Democratic State Senator Scott Weiner introduced the bill directly linking the wildfires to climate change caused by oil companies, as part of the statewide response to the Los Angeles-area wildfires.

“Absolutely catastrophic wildfires happening in the middle of winter,” Weiner said. “For insurance companies, they’re going to have to, if this bill passes, they’re going to have to take a very hard look at seeking compensation from the oil companies.”

Republican State Senator Roger Niello is opposed to the bill.

“It will be an invitation for lawsuits,” Niello said. “This furthers the narrative, the false narrative that this is all about climate change. It is of course much more complicated than that.”

This is Weiner. He is trying to place all of the blame for this on climate change and oil companies.
