DEBUNKED: Corporate Media’s Top Trending Ukraine Stories Turn Out To Be Complete Fakes.

A number of popular stories chronicling Ukraine’s resistance against Russia’s ongoing invasion – including those promoted by U.S. Congressmen, media outlets, and even conservatives online – have turned out to be false, despite garnering millions of shares and likes.

The viral, fake stories come amidst social media platforms rolling out robust “fact-checking” operations, often used to swiftly censor stories counter to establishment narratives or critical of the Democratic Party. These programs, however, have routinely failed to flag the following stories as false with the same tenacity.

‘Russian Propaganda’ Is The Latest Excuse To Expand Censorship

“I’m concerned about Russian disinformation spreading online, so today I wrote to the CEOs of major tech companies to ask them to restrict the spread of Russian propaganda,” US Senator Mark Warner tweeted on Friday.

Since then YouTube has announced that it has suppressed videos by Russian state media channels so that they’ll be seen by fewer people in accordance with its openly acknowledged policy of algorithmically censoring unauthorized content, as well as de-monetizing all such videos on the platform. Google and Facebook/Instagram parent company Meta both banned Russian state media from running ads and monetizing on their platforms in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Twitter announced a pause on ads in both Russia and Ukraine.

“Glad to see action from tech companies to reign in Russian propaganda and disinformation after my letter to their CEOs yesterday,” Warner tweeted on Saturday. “These are important first steps, but I’ll keep pushing for more.”

For years US lawmakers have been using threats of profit-destroying consequences to pressure Silicon Valley companies into limiting online speech in a way that aligns with the interests of Washington, effectively creating a system of government censorship by proxy. It would appear that we’re seeing a new expansion of this phenomenon today.

Rep. Van Taylor Offered ‘ISIS Bride’ Hush Money to Keep Her Quiet

Following National File’s bombshell revelations regarding an extramarital affair between U.S. Rep. Van Taylor and former “ISIS Bride” Tania Joya, Breitbart News has obtained a banking statement from Joya which, she claims, proves Taylor offered “hush money” in order to keep her quiet. The $5,000 payment took place during Taylor’s time in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Joya — who was formerly married to high-ranking ISIS fighter John Georgelas before being freed in 2013 — claims to have had an extramarital affair with the congressman from October 2020 through June 2021. Joya provided Breitbart with banking records that demonstrate she made a $5,000 deposit into her account when she says the affair occurred.

Joya mentioned a $5,000 payment during her 35-minute testimony, which was published by National File on Saturday. Joya also alleges that Taylor offered to buy her home for $600,000. The alleged deal would have given Joya $150,000 to use to pay for utilities and other expenses. Additionally, Joya claims Taylor offered her $15,000 in order to help her launch a fitness studio, adding that the two had drawn up a business plan.

The two first became acquainted while Joya was working with a program called “Preventing Violent Extremism” (PVE) in August 2019, according to Joya’s testimony. From there they reportedly exchanged messages until October 2020, when Joya alleges the messages increased in frequency. Some of the texts reportedly from Taylor are extremely graphic, including one in which the congressman reportedly asked for a “long slow rim job.”

Public Health Erred on the Side of Catastrophe

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, proponents of lockdowns, shelter-in-place orders, mask mandates and other coercive government interventions have characterized these measures as benevolently “erring on the side of caution.”

Now, as the grim toll of those public health measures comes into ever-sharper focus, it’s increasingly clear those characterizations were terribly wrong.

What’s less readily apparent, however, is how the very use of the “erring on the side of caution” framing was injurious in itself—by thwarting reasoned debate of public health policies, diverting attention from unintended consequences, and buffering the Covid regime’s architects from accountability.

To understand how the misuse of “erring on the side of caution” performed a sort of mass hypnosis that coaxed populations into two years of submission to disastrous, overreaching policies, consider how the expression is typically used.

Florida State Rep’s Aide Caught Tossing Stack of Newly Delivered Constitutional Carry Petitions Into Trashcan

Moments after delivering a stack of petitions to a Florida state congressman’s office, the people who gathered them returned to find the congressman’s aide had tossed them into a trashcan.

On Tuesday, Feb. 22, members from Gun Owners of America (GOA), the Republican Liberty Caucus (RLC), Capitol City Young Republicans (CCYR), the Republican Hispanic Assembly of Florida (RHAFL), and Florida Gun Rights (FLGR) held an impromptu rally at the Capitol Building in Tallahassee, Florida, in support of House Bill 103, the constitutional carry bill currently stalled in the Florida House. During the rally, they collected over 100 petitions asking state Rep. Chuck Brannan to bring the bill to the floor for a vote. When the rally concluded, some of the rally attendees went to Brannan’s office to personally deliver the petitions, never expecting that the results of their day-long effort would wind up in the trashcan within 30 minutes.
