The Folly of a War With Iran

The neoconservatives who orchestrated the disastrous wars with Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya — and who were never held accountable for the profligate waste of $8 trillion taxpayer dollars, as well as $69 billion squandered in Ukraine — look set to lure Americans into yet another military fiasco with Iran.

Iran is not Iraq. Iran is not Afghanistan. Iran is not Lebanon. Iran is not Libya. Iran is not Syria. Iran is not Yemen. Iran is the seventeenth largest country in the world, with a land mass equivalent to the size of Western Europe.

It has a population of almost 90 million — 10 times greater than Israel — and its military resources, as well as alliances with China and Russia, make it a formidable opponent.

Iran launched retaliatory attacks Saturday on Israel following waves of Israeli strikes that hit nuclear facilities and killed several top Iranian military commanders and six nuclear scientists. There have been dozens of explosions over the skyline in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

There is video footage of at least one large explosion on the ground in Tel Aviv from an apparent missile strike and reports of other explosions in some half dozen sites in and around Tel Aviv.

“Our revenge has just started, they will pay a high price for killing our commanders, scientists and people,” a senior Iranian official told Reuters. The official added that “nowhere in Israel will be safe” and that “our revenge will be painful.”

“They think it’ll be an easy war,” said Alastair Crooke, a former British diplomat and member of British intelligence (MI6) who spent decades in the Middle East. He told me of the neocons when I interviewed him.

“They want to reassert American power and leadership,” he said. “They feel that every so often throwing a small country against the wall and smashing it up is good for this.”

These neocons, bonded with the Israeli leadership of Benjamin Netanyahu, he went on, “will not tolerate any rival power, any challenge to American leadership and American greatness.” They will create facts on the ground – a war between Israel and Iran – that will “pull Trump into a war with Iran.”

You can see my interview with Crooke here.

While Iran’s air force is weak, with many of its fighter planes decades old, it is well supplied with Russian air defense batteries and Chinese anti-ship missiles, as well as mines and coastal artillery.

It can shut down the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most important oil chokepoint that facilitates the passage of 20 percent of the world’s oil supply. This would double or triple the price of oil and devastate the global economy.

Iran has a large arsenal of ballistic missiles it can unleash on Israel, as well as on American military installations in the region. While initial waves can be intercepted, repeated attacks would swiftly deplete the Israeli and U.S. air defense stockpiles.

Israel is not equipped to endure a war of attrition, such as the eight year conflict between Iran and Iraq that ended — despite U.S. support for Saddam Hussein’s regime — in a stalemate, or as in Israel’s 18-year occupation of southern Lebanon that eventually forced it to withdraw in May 2000, after repeated losses suffered from Hezbollah.

War Pig Lindsey Graham Demands US Dive Headfirst into Israel’s War, Pushes for Regime Change — ‘Help Finish the Job’

Sen. Lindsey Graham is continuing to push for the US to fully enter Israel’s war against Iran, including potential regime change efforts.

Graham, giddy like a schoolgirl at the prospect of war, made the comments on Sunday’s episode of CBS’s “Face The Nation.”

Host Margaret Brennan began, “The thing with diplomacy is that the Israeli Prime Minister is calling for the Iranian people to rise up against the regime—a regime he says is calling for the destruction of his state. It doesn’t seem like there’s a compromise there. If it’s truly this existential, is this just leading us toward the outcome you say, which is the United States getting involved in military conflict?”

“I would love for the regime to fall. If you don’t—if you want this regime to stay in power—you are wanting people to oppress the Iranian people. You want people to threaten their neighbors, to be the largest—who wants the largest state sponsor of terrorism to stay in place?” Graham replied.

“But regime policy—not the policy of the United States. It’s not the purpose of this attack—yet,” Graham continued.

The career neoconservative politician continued, “If there’s one attack on an American in the Mideast by Iran, then you will get regime change.”

“What are we dealing with? We are dealing with a non-negotiable part of the deal,” he said. “They can’t have a nuclear program that can make a bomb. Diplomacy is preferred, as Dick says. But force may be the only option.”

Graham said that he told President Donald Trump that he needs to “help Israel finish the job” if diplomacy fails.

Tucker Carlson Names “Warmongers” Who Want US Involved In Iran/Israel War

As Iranian ballistic missiles rain down on Tel Aviv, and US forces are reportedly helping to repel them, Tucker Carlson has called out those who seem to want the US to get involved as “warmongers.”

The Iranian counterstrike came after Israel launched a massive campaign of precision strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and missile sites.

Scientists involved with Iranian nuclear work were also reportedly directly targeted for assassination, along with Iranian Revolutionary Guard leadership.

President Trump declared Friday morning that Iran must make a deal immediately before it is completely obliterated.

It may already be too late though as Israel says “red lines” have been crossed by Iran targeting civilian areas in Tel Aviv.

Taking to X in response to the escalation, Tucker Carlson wrote “The real divide isn’t between people who support Israel and people who support Iran or the Palestinians.”

“The real divide is between those who casually encourage violence, and those who seek to prevent it — between warmongers and peacemakers,” he added.

“Who are the warmongers?” Carlson continued, emphasising “They would include anyone who’s calling Donald Trump today to demand air strikes and other direct US military involvement in a war with Iran.”

He then went on to name “Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Rupert Murdoch, Ike Perlmutter and Miriam Adelson.”

War-pig Lindsey Graham Cheers Israel’s Attack on Iran – Calls on US and Trump to “Go All-In” and “Finish the Job”

On Friday morning, Israeli military forces attacked several locations in Iran, including residential areas in the capital, Tehran. Several explosions were heard across the country.

At the same time, images of several locations in Tehran being targeted were posted on social media. The Israeli Minister of War issued a decree declaring a special state of emergency on Friday morning.

The international news reported Thursday that numerous countries recalled their officials from many embassies in the Middle East prior to the anticipated Israeli strikes.

Most Americans understand the seriousness of this moment. Iran has already threatened the United States for our connections with Israel and the regime alleged the US was in on the planning.

Most people were worried – But not Lindsey Graham.

Lindsey posted these jubilant remarks on X on Friday morning.

Again, I applaud President Trump for urging Iran back to the negotiating table, in order to end the regime’s nuclear ambitions through diplomacy, avoiding further bloodshed.

However, if Iran refuses this offer, I strongly believe it is in America’s national security interest to go all-in to help Israel finish the job. One of the benefits of this approach is that it would substantially undo the damage done to our reputation by Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

If diplomacy fails, going all-in for Israel shows that America is back as a reliable ally and a strong force against oppression. It would strengthen our hand in all corners of the world, as well as all other conflicts we face.

Lindsey wants his war!

Maybe this will get him to forget about Ukraine for a few hours?

And, for the record, here is Lindsey’s buddy John McCain singing about bombing Iran.

Western war hawks lack plan to defeat Russia – Pentagon chief

Western officials who speak of Ukraine winning the ongoing conflict don’t have a real strategy for defeating Russia, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has said.

Testifying before the House Armed Services Committee on Thursday, the Pentagon chief declined to directly say whether he views Russia as a “true adversary” or whether Washington would allow a “complete surrender of Ukraine” in order to secure peace in the region.

The Trump administration is instead seeking a settlement to the Ukraine conflict that will last, not Kiev’s surrender or Russia’s defeat.

“The situation is unfortunate, unleashed by the previous administration,” he said, referring to former President Joe Biden, whom Trump’s team blames for entangling the US in the Ukraine conflict. Biden’s government repeatedly vowed to back Kiev for as long as it took to defeat Russia militarily.

“But everyone that talks about winning and prevailing is yet to present to me a plan that’s going to push the Russian army out of those territories,” Hegseth added.

Warpig Lindsey Graham: A Russian Victory in Ukraine Will Be Worse than the Withdrawal of US Troops From Afghanistan

Warpig Lindsey Graham traveled to Ukraine this past weekend to pump up the hopes of the Ukrainian leader in the country’s ongoing war with Russia.

During his visit to Europe, Graham told reporters that a Russian victory in Ukraine would be worse than the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan.

Lindsey is getting desperate.

The globalist warmongers fear Trump’s work to bring peace to the region. The warmongers are shooting for World War III.

Senator Lindsey Graham: “The American withdrawal from Afghanistan was a terrible decision. It triggered the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It made America look weak in the eyes of the world. I told President Trump this privately, and now I’m telling him publicly: If this war ends as if we abandoned Ukraine, it will be even worse than leaving Afghanistan, and it will be a serious blow to global stability.”

Lindsey is a lunatic.

Full Signal Chat Reveals US Officials Celebrated Bombing a Residential Building in Yemen

Mike Waltz said the strike targeted the Houthis’ ‘top missile guy’ when he entered a building where his girlfriend lived

The full Signal chat between Trump administration officials discussing bombing Yemen revealed that top US officials celebrated an airstrike that flattened a residential building, which likely killed many civilians.

Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, was included in the chat, apparently by accident, and published its full contents on Wednesday after Trump administration officials insisted it didn’t contain classified information. But the chat did include details about when the strikes on Yemen would start on March 15.

After the US bombings started, US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, who added Goldberg to the chat, said one of the strikes targeted a “top missile guy” for the Houthis after he entered a building where his girlfriend lived.

“The first target – their top missile guy – we had positive ID of him walking into his girlfriend’s building, and it’s now collapsed,” Waltz said.

“I Have Contempt for Such People. I Want to Make That Clear” – Elon Musk Stuns Bret Baier as He Eviscerates Unhinged Warmonger Sen. Mark Kelly

Earlier this month Democrat warmonger Senator Mark Kelly posted a long thread on X on how he supported Ukraine and its losing war against Russia.

Kelly should have kept these unbelievably ignorant comments to himself.

Elon Musk quickly jumped in and called Kelly a traitor.

The left and devoted RINOs were absolutely appalled for Musk to call this far left senator a “traitor” for putting Ukrainians before Americans.

Bret Baier was clearly taken back by the comments and brought it up during his interview with Musk on Thursday night.

Musk unloaded.

Bret Baier: You posted that he was a traitor. Why do that?

Elon Musk: Well, I think somebody should care about the interests of the United States above the interests of another country. If they don’t, they’re a traitor.

Bret Baier: Yeah, but he’s a decorated veteran, a former astronaut, a sitting US Senator.

Elon Musk: That doesn’t mean it’s okay for him to put the interests of another country above America.

Bret Baier: Obviously, there are Republicans who think supporting Ukraine is the right thing still, but there is a battle back and forth about how do you think it comes to an end?

Elon Musk: Well, I think there will be a negotiated peace. The thing that we should be concerned about is we should have empathy for the thousands of people that are dying every day in trenches for no movement in the lines. So the borders remain the same. For the past two For years, thousands of people have died every week for nothing. For what?

Moral Bankruptcy: Justifying the Ukraine War as Good for the US Economy

Supporters of the U.S.-NATO proxy war in Ukraine employ a range of dubious justifications.  One is a refurbished version of the old domino theory used during the Cold War – if the United States and its allies don’t help Ukraine expel Russian occupation forces, the victorious Kremlin will then launch offensives against other European countries and eventually dominate the Continent. Another popular rationale is that what might appear to be a mundane struggle between two authoritarian regimes is actually an existential conflict between democracy and autocracy, with Ukraine representing the former and Russia the latter.

Both cases are fallacious. The neo-domino theory wildly overrates Russia’s geostrategic prowess. A military that has encountered trouble subduing Ukraine poses no credible threat to larger, more powerful potential adversaries, such as France, Germany, and Great Britain, or even smaller powers such as Poland, Italy, or Turkey. Likewise, the attempt to portray the fighting in Ukraine as a crucial struggle between democracy and authoritarianism falls flat. Ukraine is not a democracy, even if the most expansive, generous definition is used.

Still another frequent argument that American proponents of backing Ukraine use is that sending arms to Kyiv is good for the U.S. economy, not a multi-billion dollar financial drain on taxpayers.  Officials in Joe Biden’s administration, including the president himself, increasingly resorted to that justification as domestic discontent mounted regarding Washington’s Ukraine policy. Administration policymakers proudly insisted that most of the aid money ended up remaining in the United States.

During a February 20, 2024, speech at a new General Dynamics factory outside Dallas Texas, Biden made the alleged “economic benefits” argument explicitly. A supplemental spending measure pending in Congress at the time contained a total of $95 billion in foreign aid, including money for Ukraine, Israel, and other countries. Of the $60.7 billion for Ukraine, $38.8 billion would go to U.S. factories that made missiles, munitions and other gear. “While this bill sends military equipment to Ukraine,” Biden emphasized, “it spends the money right here in the United States of America in places like Arizona, where the Patriot missiles are built; and Alabama, where the Javelin missiles are built; and Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Texas, where artillery shells are made.”

Republican pro-Ukraine hawks embraced similar “logic” about why billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine were not only necessary from the standpoint of U.S. foreign policy, but also beneficial to the U.S. economy.  Then-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) “repeatedly implored his colleagues to understand that the funds from the package are for historic investments “’right here in America.’”

“This is about rebuilding the arsenal of democracy,” McConnell said in a floor speech during the long days of debate, “and demonstrating to our allies and adversaries alike that we’re serious about exercising American strength.”

EPIC! President Trump Calls Out Warmonger Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren During Speech – Then Warren Claps for 20 More Seconds

President Trump called out Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA) during his Congressional Address on Tuesday after the Democrat clapped in favor of five more years of war in Ukraine.

Democrats interrupted with loud clapping as President Trump noted that hundreds of billions of dollars have gone to Ukraine, and “millions of Ukrainians and Russians have been needlessly killed or wounded in this horrific and brutal conflict with no end in sight.”

They were clapping for war!

Trump then asked, “Do you want to keep it going for another five years?” Elizabeth Warren apparently continued clapping. “Yeah, you would say—Pocahontas says, Yes,” Trump replied.

Trump: I’m also working tirelessly to end the savage conflict in Ukraine. Millions of Ukrainians and Russians have been needlessly killed or wounded in this horrific and brutal conflict with no end in sight. The United States has sent hundreds of billions of dollars to support Ukraine’s defense with no security.

You want to keep it going for another five years? Yeah, you would say— Pocahontas says, Yes.
