Ilhan Omar’s hubby’s elusive winery under scrutiny from feds — and it violates Islamic law

Besides scrutiny from the feds, Rep. Ilhan Omar’s husband’s winery could land the embattled power couple in hot water with imams too.

Political consultant Tim Mynett converted to Islam to marry Omar, a practicing Muslim — but selling booze is strictly banned in Islamic law, which considers anything to do with alcohol sinful — or “haram.”

“I assure you that they got married in accordance with Islam and the law, and Ilhan’s husband converted to Islam,” a spokesperson for Omar’s office told BBC Somalia at the time of the 2020 wedding.

It was Mynett’s California-based wine company eStCru, together with his other allegedly shady business ventures, that helped propel the couple’s worth to up to $30 million and attracted a probe by the House Oversight Committee and the Department of Justice.

Omar claimed the wine biz was worth between $1 million and $5 million in her May 2025 financial disclosure, which covered the 2024 calendar year.

But by that point, the venture had gone belly-up for more than a year, adding to the mystery of why she would have placed such a high value on it in the first place.

“We’re not experts in Islamic law — but we’re pretty sure scamming the American people for a living violates every religion,” slammed Republican National Committee Press Secretary Kiersten Pels.

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani: U.S. Immigration Policy Should Be Guided by Islam and the Prophet Muhammed

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is using his Muslim faith to justify his views on immigration enforcement and wants America to follow suit.

Mamdani held a press conference on Friday to speak about ICE and immigration policy in the United States. As TGP readers know, Madani has vowed not to cooperate with the Trump Administration on getting rid of criminal illegal aliens in the Big Apple.

At one point in the press conference, Mamdani cited Islam to push an open borders agenda. He claimed Islam was built on a narrative of migration and noted that Muhammad was once a stranger too.

Then, he quoted a few sections of the Quran to continue justifying his radical migration stance.

When he finished, the audience erupted into applause.

MAMDANI: I think that freedom from suffering that Buddhism teaches us is only possible if we remove the three poisons of desire, hatred, and ignorance from our daily lives.

We have the power to set ourselves free.

I consider my own faith, Islam, a religion built upon a narrative of migration.

The story of the Hijrah reminds us that Prophet Muhammad was a stranger too, who fled Mecca and was welcomed in Medina.

(quoting Quran) As for those who immigrate in the cause of Allah who are being persecuted, we will surely bless them with a good home in this world.

Or as the Prophet Muhammad said, Islam began as something strange and will go back to being strange. So glad tidings to the strangers

Mamdani went on to brag about how his administration is coaching illegal aliens on what to do if ICE approaches them.

Greece Announces Massive Closure Operation of 60 Illegal Mosques in Athens Operated by Bangladeshis and Pakistanis

The Greek government has launched an exhaustive operation to identify and shut down all illegal mosques in the municipality of Athens, estimated at around 60, most managed by immigrants from Bangladesh and Pakistan.

This initiative, announced by the Minister of Migration and Immigration, Thanos Plevris, includes the simultaneous deportation of foreigners operating these sites, emphasizing that those who do not comply with Greek law will face automatic expulsion.

The operation is activated following a landmark case in the Agios Nikolaos area, where the residence permit of a Bangladeshi citizen accused of running an illegal mosque was revoked.

This individual was sentenced to prison for operating a place of worship without permission, and the site was sealed by the authorities. Plevris, during a meeting of the parliamentary committee on legal immigration, stated that «what happened in Agios Nikolaos will happen everywhere,» promising the closure of all irregular places of worship along with the revocation of legal documents of their operators.

The measure is part of a broader effort to combat illegal trafficking and promote legal migration, with cooperation between ministries to seal these spaces and deport those involved.

Athens has only one legal mosque, but estimates indicate that nearly 60 unauthorized sites are operating, converted into basements, apartments, warehouses or parking lots without basic specifications such as ventilation or adequate sanitation.

These places, mostly frequented by Bangladeshi and Pakistani communities, have proliferated in the last decade, with previous figures exceeding 100 in Attica.

The conservative government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis has prioritized national security and border control, contrasting with left-wing policies that, in the past, have allowed the expansion of illegal immigration, overburdening resources and generating risks for social cohesion.

This massive purge represents a blow against migratory irregularity, aligned with previous efforts such as the deportation of hundreds of Pakistanis who infiltrated illegally by sea in 2025.

Muslim state senator introduces Virginia bill defining Islamophobia as hate crime in assault cases

A Bengali-American state senator from Virginia has introduced a bill to criminalize Islamophobia. 

The bill, introduced by state Sen. Saddam Azlan Salim, would define “Islamophobia” “as it relates to the crime of assault and battery as malicious prejudice or hatred directed toward Islam or Muslims.”

The summary for Salim’s bill says that the Islamophobia definition “applies regardless of whether the victim is actually a practitioner of Islam, provided that the perpetrator targeted such victim based on a perceived adherence to such faith. The bill also clarifies that religious conviction includes Islam.”

The bill “directs the Department of State Police, in consultation with the Office of the Attorney General and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, to include the bill’s definition of ‘Islamophobia’ in its hate crime reporting central repository.”

Salim represents Virginia’s district 37, which includes all of Fairfax City and Falls Church City, and parts of Fairfax County.

London authorities ban ‘Walk with Jesus’ march in Muslim-majority neighborhood

The Metropolitan Police banned a “Walk with Jesus” event from taking place in a London borough, citing concerns it would provoke the members of the community.

In a December social media post, the United Kingdom Independence Party announced a march scheduled for January 31 in Whitechapel, a predominantly Muslim community.

“Join our parade in Whitechapel worshipping Jesus Christ,” the post reads, describing the month as “dedicated to the holy name of Jesus.”

UKIP encouraged individuals who wished to participate in the march to gather outside Whitechapel Tube Station.

“Christ is King,” UKIP wrote. “All the Glory and honour to him.”

The Metropolitan Police revealed on January 23 that it was imposing conditions on the march “to prevent disorder.” Those conditions included a ban on anyone taking part in the event “in the London borough of Tower Hamlets,” which encompasses Whitechapel.

Prophecy from apocalyptic ‘messiah’ warns of death so widespread ‘even birds won’t escape’

A poem written over 120 years ago by a revered religious figure has resurfaced as some fear its prediction of an apocalyptic event could be coming true today. 

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, also known as the Promised Messiah and the Imam Mahdi, wrote a 1905 poem describing massive earthquakes and destruction across the world, which some have now interpreted as a warning of World War III. 

In the poem, published around the time of his death in 1908, Ahmad predicted streams of blood flowing from widespread death, entire regions being wiped out, a massive earthquake, and even strange sky events beyond scientific explanation.

It mentions of calamity befalling the Czar of Russia has been seen by some as foreshadowing modern conflicts involving Russia, such as the war in Ukraine and continued tensions with the US and NATO. 

‘A sign will come some days hence, which will turn over villages, cities and fields. Wrath of God will bring a revolution in the world, the undressed one would be unable to tie his trousers,’ Ahmad’s 1905 poem described.

‘Suddenly, a quake will severely shake, mortals, trees, mountains and seas, all. In the twinkling of an eye, the land shall turn over, streams of blood will flow like rivers of water.’

Ahmad, born in 1835 in Qadian, India, founded the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam and dedicated his life to defending his faith against criticisms from other religions, such as Christianity. He also claimed to receive multiple divine revelations.

Ahmad’s followers believe he was divinely appointed as the guided leader expected in Islamic End Times prophecies.

Anti-Islamic uprising in Iran continues: “This is the year of blood. Khamenei will be toppled.”

Starting on Sunday, there have been widespread anti-regime protests in Iranian cities, including Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad and Zahedan, primarily driven by economic distress, including the Iranian rial’s collapse to a record low of approximately 1.4 million to the dollar.

The protests, which began as economic demonstrations by merchants and shopkeepers, escalated into broader political unrest with chants of “Death to the Dictator” Ali Khamenei and pro-monarchist slogans calling for the return of the Shah.

Security forces, including the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, responded with tear gas, rubber bullets, and batons, while the government declared a state of emergency and vowed “total war” against the United States, Europe and Israel. 

There is no credible evidence of foreign military or organised group control over Iranian cities.

The central bank governor, Mohammad Reza Farzin, resigned amid the crisis.

The situation remains fluid, with protests continuing into 31 December with crowds chanting “This is the year of blood. Khamenei will be toppled.”

On Monday, independent news channel Tousi TV reported that anti-Islamic Iranians have taken control of Iranian cities.

“The revolution is still ongoing against the Islamic occupiers and the regime forces have retreated. Multiple cities and towns have now fallen into the hands of the anti-Islamic Iranians, and at the same time, resignations inside the IRGC [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] have now started,” Mahyar Tousi said jubilantly while waving the Iranian flag.

His news cast includes videos of the popular uprising from Tehran, Karaj and other cities around the country.

Taliban to jail barbers who shave men’s beards for up to 15 months under radical Islamic law

Barbers who cut off men’s beards in Afghanistan are set to be jailed under the Taliban‘s increasingly radical regime.

Some young men are also reportedly being beaten up and ‘humiliated’ for defying strict cultural laws by daring to pick a Western-style haircut.

Offending hairdressers will be referred to the Taliban’s feared judicial authorities and could face up for 15 months in prison.

The totalitarian regime claims it is merely laying down Islamic law.

Beard removal was already illegal under its dystopian-sounding Law on the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, but did not carry a prison sentence.

Some accused of crafting non-traditional styles have already faced temporary detention, however, meaning their businesses have ground to a halt for days.

Esmatullah, from the Balkh province, told the Telegraph: ‘We are branded as agents of the former government if we trim our beards or keep what they call a Western hairstyle. 

‘The Taliban interrogate and beat people simply for how they look.’

He said a local college student was beaten up by Taliban members who also lopped off his hair with scissors, because he had decided to shave the sides of this head.

Another barber in Balkh said that many of his customers now ask him to visit them at their homes for haircut or grooming sessions, because it is too risky to do in public.

Many have also seen a steep decline in business since the Taliban reestablished in August 2021.

Last week, Taliban morality enforcers detained eight barbers in Afghanistan’s Parwan province for shaving or styling beards.

Their shops were shuttered, and their have been families told they will be detained for a month.

Taliban officials summoned male barbers in the Balkh province on Friday to the drum home the message that the crackdown is on.

Another Balkh barber told the newspaper: ‘If people are not allowed to shave their beards or cut their hair as per their choice, who will come to our shops?

‘We live hand to mouth, and these edicts will leave us without enough food on our plates.’

Since sweeping back to power in the wake of the Western withdrawal, the Taliban has steadily tightened its grip on the people of Afghanistan and stripped away their freedoms.

Italy Arrests Nine Islamic Charity Chiefs Suspected of Raising Millions for Hamas

Italian police have arrested seven people suspected of funneling millions of euros to Hamas while posing as fundraisers for Palestinian civilians in Gaza, authorities announced.

Police also issued international arrest warrants for two additional suspects believed to be operating outside Italy.

According to local law enforcement, the investigation centers on three associations that publicly claimed to support Palestinian civilians but allegedly functioned as a front for financing Hamas.

The nine suspects are accused of transferring approximately seven million euros ($8 million) to “associations based in Gaza, the Palestinian territories, or Israel, owned, controlled, or linked to Hamas.”
