95% of This Historic City’s Welfare Dependents Are Illegals. Now, Democrats Are Trying to Place Them in People’s Homes.

The city of Westbrook, Maine, is considering a new ordinance that would permit private homes, churches, and community centers to serve as homeless shelters. Most housing assistance applicants are recent migrants, and the proposal comes after the city’s welfare program official acknowledged that “90 to 95 percent” of welfare recipients are migrants, referred to as “New Mainers” by open borders activists.

Jennie Franceschi, Westbrook’s Director of Planning and Code Enforcement, indicated that the ordinance would enable single-family homes and churches to become emergency shelters if community needs dictate. The proposal does not mandate homeowners or churches to house homeless individuals but allows them to register as official homeless shelters voluntarily.

Resident Martin Malia argues the current proposal could lead to an 11.4 percent tax increase. Malia expressed fears that the ordinance might also attract more homeless immigrants, further taxing the general assistance program and municipal resources.

Despite these concerns, the Planning Board did not address Malia’s points in detail. The board ultimately voted unanimously to move the ordinance and another establishing a licensing process for homeless shelters to the city council.

Over 40 Democrat Mayors Demand Biden Give Illegal Aliens Jobs and Work Permits, Claim They Will Boost Economy By $7 TRILLION!

Over 40 Democratic mayors and county officials have demanded that Joe Biden give jobs and work permits to migrants who have entered the U.S. illegally, claiming that new arrivals will add a staggering $7 trillion to the economy over the next decade.

In a letter signed by the likes of New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu and San Francisco Mayor London Breed, the Democrats plead with Biden to force the Department of Homeland Security to “leverage its authority to grant parole for longterm undocumented immigrants and our most recent arrivals to create a process for streamlined work authorization.”

The letter states:

Our request is rooted in the belief that extending the dignity of legal authorization to work for our residents born in Mexico, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, and other countries would be a positive step forward. These individuals have embraced the United States as their home and have, over decades, worked diligently, paid taxes, raised families, started businesses and bought homes. A substantial majority of Americans, including approximately half of surveyed Republican voters, strongly endorse the extension of work permits for individuals who have made long-term contributions.

Today, approximately 11.3 million U.S. citizens share a home with someone who is undocumented, making this issue resonate in key electoral states like Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina. Both recent arrivals and the long-standing undocumented community are susceptible to dangerous work conditions and exploitation that often result when individuals lack access to work authorization and the protections that come with it.

It is our strong recommendation that in the development of this program, worker safety and worker choice is prioritized, and a worker’s legal presence is not solely tied to their employment by a single employer. We must acknowledge that in the absence of long-awaited comprehensive reform from Congress, we need to consider other significant actions that allow us to tap into the incredible value immigrants bring to our workforce and communities.

Your administration’s proactive stance in welcoming Afghan and Ukrainian refugees, and others through this policy is commendable. We also applaud the extension of work authorization to recent migrants from Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba, Honduras, Burma, El Salvador, and Haiti, but urge the same protections and work authorization opportunities to recent arrivals from Mauritania, Angola, Ecuador, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Legal scholars affirm your authority to extend work permits to long term immigrants, and the support from 80+ members of Congress, American Business Immigration Coalition’s 300+ Employers, CEOs and Associations, as well as labor organizations like UNITE HERE, the Teamsters, and United Auto Workers (UAW), underscores the broad consensus on this matter. We acknowledge the challenges your administration faces, especially in responding to various priorities including “Operation Lone Star”. Since this busing operation municipalities have welcomed thousands of asylum seekers arriving from the US-Mexico border.

Amidst Congressional inaction to fix our broken immigration system, this is a unique opportunity to change the tide from crisis to an opportunity, one that supports both new arrivals and long-term undocumented residents. There are several thoughtful ways to initiate this process. For example, your administration could expand the existing program that grants “parole” to the spouses and parents of U.S. military service members to include the 1.2 million undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens.

A work permit program could focus on long-term undocumented individuals who have been in the nation for 10 years or more, or a parole program could specifically address Dreamers who are too young and ineligible for DACA. Moreover, parole could be granted under significant benefit to the state as extending work permits to long-term contributors is not only the morally right thing to do for our communities but also a strategic move for our economy. Legally allowing long-term immigrants to work will result in higher wages, shielding them from workplace exploitation and enabling them to contribute more effectively to the labor market. This, in turn, will lead to increased tax contributions, estimated at $13.8 billion annually.

Additionally, the Congressional Budget Office predicted that the GDP of the U.S. economy is going to be boosted by $7 trillion over the next ten years due to the contributions of new arriving immigrants. Despite their lack of work authorization, long-term immigrants are valued members of communities across this country. They add tremendous value to the U.S. economy as neighbors, taxpayers, workers, consumers, and entrepreneurs. It is time we provided the security and opportunity they have long yearned for. It is time to extend work permits to bring millions out of the shadows. On behalf of our new residents and long-term immigrants, we urge you to use this authority to everyone’s shared benefit.

Nearly all of those who have signed the letter represent sanctuary cities, where Democratic officials protect illegal immigrants from deportation and often pay for their housing, food and other living expenses.

Migrants Protest for More Free Government Benefits in New York City

A group of several dozen migrants joined liberal Democrat politicians in New York City on Thursday to protest for even more government benefits for “newcomers.”

The New York Immigration Coalition joined a group of elected Democrat officials on the steps of City Hall to demand more money from the city budget to be dedicated to migrants, according to Caribbean Life.

The activists demanded an array of higher spending, including an additional $109 million for free legal services for immigrants, $5 million for language services, $25 million in support for two city programs for illegal aliens, and an end to policies that evict migrants from shelters after a prescribed time.

Council Member Alexa Avilés, for one, demanded that New York Mayor Eric Adams increase spending for migrants, and added, “Our priorities remain crystal clear: legal services, transfer schools, language justice and more.”

Council Member Shahana Hanif, who has advocated for permanent free housing for migrants, insisted that New York City should prioritize providing “quality education, good jobs, adequate healthcare, and dignified housing, reflect our unwavering commitment to building a city that uplifts all New Yorkers, regardless of their immigration status and no matter when they arrived.”

Hanif went on to claim that Biden’s tidal wave of illegal immigrants are “our new neighbors” who she claims face “roadblocks … when accessing housing, employment, and education.”

Democrats Block Child Trafficking Deterrent to Require DNA Tests for Migrants Crossing Border with Kids

Senate Democrats have blocked what former Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials called “a strong deterrent” against child trafficking at the United States-Mexico border.

On Thursday, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) sought to pass by unanimous consent the End Child Trafficking Now Act which would require DHS to DNA test all adult migrants and the children they arrive with at the southern border to prove they are relatives.

Senate Democrats blocked its passage.

The bill’s goal, Blackburn and other Senate Republicans said, is to end the process of child trafficking where adult migrants bring unrelated children with them to cross the border in the hopes of being released into the U.S. interior.

President Joe Biden’s DHS reportedly ended such DNA testing last year.

Last year, Lora Ries, director of the Heritage Foundation’s Border Security and Immigration Center, told the Senate Judiciary Committee that the Biden administration’s ending DNA testing would ultimately lead to a spike in child trafficking.

“The results are very predictable: A return to more child smuggling, child recycling, and child trafficking. Say you’re a family and we’ll take your word for it,” Ries said.

DHS officials have previously suggested that as many as 3-in-10 children arriving at the border with adult migrants are being trafficked.

Illegal Aliens Caught Staging Armed Robberies So ‘Victims’ Can Apply For Green Cards

Six men in Chicago have been charged with staging robberies and filing false police reports so the supposed “victims” can apply for green cards.

In a federal indictment unsealed over the weekend, the six men were accused of recruiting individuals to pose as robbers at gas stations, fast food restaurants, and liquor stores in Chicago, Louisiana, and Tennessee.

CBS reports:

A federal indictment unsealed on Friday in Chicago accuses the men of recruiting people to pose as robbers and then filing false police reports in order to obtain forms to qualify for U nonimmigrant status, also known as a U-visa, from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Such visas are set aside for victims of certain crimes who have suffered physical or emotional abuse and are providing assistance to police or prosecutors.

Parth Nayi, 26, of Woodridge; Kewon Young, 31, of Mansfield, Ohio; Bhikhabhai Patel, 51, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Nilesh Patel, 32, of Jackson, Tennessee; Ravinaben Patel, 23, of Racine, Wisconsin; and Rajnikumar Patel, 32, of Jacksonville, Florida, are charged with conspiracy to commit visa fraud.  Ravinaben Patel is also charged with making a false statement in a visa application.

Federal prosecutors said Nayi and Young organized a series of staged armed robberies between July 2022 and January 2024, in which the four other men pretended to be robbery victims so they could apply for U-visas.

Illegals Believe Trump Is Going To Win So They’re Surging The Border Now

Illegal immigrants are surging the border now because they believe Donald Trump is going to win the election in November and enforce security, according to a report quoting the illegals themselves.

The New York Post reports that the migrants “fear President Biden could lose re-election in November and Donald Trump will shut the border.”

Two brothers from Columbia who had crossed into the US and had eventually been put on a flight to New Jersey stated “We think with the elections, it will be harder,” adding “We don’t want Trump.”

It’s quite simple. The border is now wide open, and if Trump wins it will be slammed shut.

No, Illegal Immigrants Do Not Make the Country Rich

There is a joke about immigration: “If illegal aliens grow the economy, then the countries they left must be rich.” The reality is, however, that rather than making the country richer, illegal immigrants cost the country money. The amount of money the government spends on illegal aliens each year is “the equivalent of $500 per American man, woman, child, and retiree.”

Every day, approximately 5,000 illegal aliens enter the United States. The media claims that immigration is growing the US economy, using this argument to justify open borders and illegal immigration. However, there are several intentionally misleading points here. First, the economic growth attributed to immigration includes the wages earned and taxes paid by legal immigrants, which has nothing to do with illegal immigration. The fact that legal immigrants contribute to the economy does not justify what is happening at the southern border.

Yes, every additional person living in the country adds to GDP; however, there is nothing special about illegal aliens that contributes more to this growth. In fact, legal aliens are significantly better for the economy because they pay taxes and are less likely to send most of their earnings out of the country. Legal immigrants are more likely to buy a home and pay property taxes, which fund local schools. They are also more likely to start a business, creating jobs.

Adding people to the economy who do not work or contribute only grows the economy by the amount of government transfer payments they spend. However, these transfer payments come from taxes already paid by citizens or from government debt that will need to be repaid in the future. Additionally, these transfers draw funds away from existing social programs.

84% of Measles Cases in Chicago Outbreak Linked to Venezuelan Migrants

Around 84% of measles cases in a large-scale outbreak in Chicago earlier this year are linked to Venezuelan migrants, according to a new report from the CDC.

The 57 cases of measles that occurred at the Pilsen migrant center in February can be traced back to a single child.

The first case was reported on February 27. The child arrived in the US less than five months before he became ill.

Anybody who had been present at the shelter between 22 February and 27 February was considered to have been exposed to the disease. Overcrowding at the center is identified as one of the principal reasons for the disease’s rapid spread, with over 500 people staying in just one room. The center is home to over 2000 migrants.

Between 26 February and 13 May, 57 cases linked to the shelter were confirmed, including 52 among migrants living at the shelter and three among staff.

Former Texas District Attorney Official Pleads Guilty to Smuggling Illegal Aliens in Government Vehicle

A former official from the Starr County District Attorney’s Office pleaded guilty on Friday to smuggling illegal aliens from the border in a government vehicle.

Bernice Annette Garza had been charged with conspiracy to transport people illegally within the United States.

Garza was arrested on December 7, 2022, during a traffic stop near Victoria. According to a report from MY RVG, four illegal aliens were found inside the District Attorney’s office vehicle at that time.

Express News reports:

In the car with Garza were Magaly Rosa and her husband, Juan Antonio Charles, both then 40 and part of the smuggling operation, according to court records.

The deputy also found four undocumented migrants in the car, records show. They were visibly trembling, were wearing new clothes and appeared to answer questions as though “rehearsed,” the complaint says.

Rosa told authorities that Garza had recruited her to smuggle migrants in her county vehicle. She said Garza provided fraudulent court papers that identified migrants as crime victims, the complaint says.

Rosa and her husband operated their home as a stash house for newly arrived migrants, according to the criminal complaint. They would buy them clothes and feed them, and then Garza would pick up the migrants and Rosa in her county vehicle for the trip to Houston, the complaint says.

Garza confessed that she and her coconspirators had made over 40 trips smuggling the migrants between June and December 2022.

2 foreign nationals in ICE custody after alleged attempted breach at major Marine base

Two foreign nationals are in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody after an alleged attempt to breach a Marine Corps base this month, officials confirmed Thursday.

The incident happened May 3 at Quantico Marine Corps Base in Virginia. A spokesperson for the base said two people in a box truck were stopped at a gate.

The driver allegedly told military police officers they were making a delivery to the post office and worked for a company subcontracted by Amazon.

Because they had no affiliation to the base and no approved credentials, they were directed to a holding area for vetting.

“It was at that time, one of the military police officers noticed the driver, ignoring the direct instructions of the officers, continued to move the vehicle past the holding area and attempted to access Marine Corps Base Quantico,” spokesperson Capt. Michael Curtis said in a statement.
