Mayorkas Pressed to Explain Terror-Listed Illegal Immigrants Released Into US

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is facing renewed pressure to explain the circumstances of inadmissible aliens on the terrorist watchlist being released into the United States rather than being held in custody until deportation.

A group of Homeland Security Republicans expressed serious concern in an April 3 letter to Mr. Mayorkas about unanswered questions regarding DHS’s current practices in processing and releasing known or suspected terrorists into the United States.

“We are now facing a consistent stream of cases highlighted in the news of aliens allegedly on the terrorists watchlist either being apprehended at the border or discovered in the interior,” they wrote.

Their concern comes as U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data show that there’s been a whopping 3,000-plus percent increase (comparing former President Donald Trump’s term and that of President Joe Biden’s so far) in the number of people on the FBI’s terror watchlist caught trying to enter the country illegally.

The lawmakers—including House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn.) and Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Law Enforcement, and Intelligence Chairman August Pfluger (R-Texas)—expressed particular concern about the number of terrorist gotaways.

The number of terrorist gotaways could be alarmingly high if it tracks with the 3,000-plus percent rise in the number of apprehended illegal immigrants on the terror watchlist between the Trump and Biden presidencies.

Chicago Mayor Johnson Calls for Work Permits for Half a Million Illegals in Illinois

On Thursday, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson called for work permits for half a million illegals in Illinois.

Why worry about out-of-work and suffering American citizens when you can make illegals the priority.

Johnson further boasted that his city, in constant chaos from rampant crime and urban decay, could continue to absorb even more illegals and  “conservatively” welcome another 400,000 to 700,000.

During a roundtable with urban business leaders, Johnson said, “We need the president to extend the same economic opportunities long term for our undocumented brothers and sisters, so they can build a better life here in the city of Chicago or wherever else they decide to live.”

“I want to make this emphatically clear: Chicago will never turn its back on people who wish to call the city of Chicago their home,” he added.

Fox News reports:

Johnson, whose one-year anniversary as mayor was also Thursday, said he penned a letter to the Biden administration, pushing harder for additional work permits, with the support of dozens of other city mayors, including Denver, New York, Seattle and San Francisco.

“I remain standing in my belief that a more inclusive and equitable future for all residents is truly possible, whether they arrived here yesterday or have been here for an extended period of time,” he said.

The mayor added that even though the “humanitarian crisis” continues to overwhelm and “test the city,” officials will not “waver in their commitment to the immigrant communities.”

In February, mayors from more than 40 cities sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas urging the administration to grant more permits for additional arrivals and also extend existing ones.

Looks Like Payback: DHS Targets Texas, Florida with Secret Migrant Flights

The Biden administration is secretly using migrant flights to dump illegal aliens into the United States. It turns out that most of them are being flown into Florida and Texas.

Hmm. Is it a coincidence that two red states that are being vigilant in securing their borders are receiving 90% of the migrant flights? I don’t think so.

The Center for Immigration Studies analyzed available public information on U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) website. It’s difficult to know the full picture since the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) refuses to publicly identify the dozens of international airports it has approved for direct flights from abroad for some inadmissible aliens.

At least 386,000 migrants, as of February, have been allowed to fly into the U.S. airports as part of President Biden’s admissions program launched in October 2022. The rationale for the program is to reduce the number of illegal border crossings. They are flown in and then released on parole.

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) analysis of available public information shows the airports that might account for being used for landings from abroad, though not necessarily the final destinations. Early evidence shows that a majority of the flights carrying inadmissible aliens likely land at international airports in Florida.

Florida is the top landing and U.S. customs processing zone for the direct-flights parole-and-release program. The total through February was nearly 326,000 aliens since the program began. Other regions being used in the program are Houston, New York, northern and southern California, and Washington, D.C. Florida is the heaviest hit.

Illegal immigrant squatters released without bail after arrest on drug, gun charges near Bronx school

Six of the illegal immigrant squatters who were arrested last week in the Bronx have been released without bail, sparking outrage and raising concerns about public safety in the neighborhood.

The eight squatters were apprehended on charges of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and acting in a manner injurious to a child. On the property, located next to a school, authorities found a seven-year-old child in the basement.

Hector Desousa-Villalta, who allegedly brandished a gun on the property, was released on supervised release by a Bronx Criminal Court judge, despite the district attorney’s request for bail set at $150,000 cash or $450,000 bond. Subsequently, five more squatters were released after their arraignments, according to the New York Post.

Despite the severity of the charges, the six individuals were granted release without bail, with law enforcement failing to clarify why some men were being held and others were let go.

The lack of clarity surrounding the rationale behind some individuals’ release while others remain in custody, despite facing identical charges, has added to the frustration. Neighbors, who had witnessed the troubling events unfold, expressed their frustration with the entire situation.

Chicago health department confirms multiple cases of tuberculosis in migrant shelters

The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) has confirmed multiple cases of tuberculosis (TB) among illegal immigrants who recently arrived in the city.

According to Fox 23 Chicago, CDPH stated that cases of TB have been reported in multiple migrant shelters across the city. The department also explained to the public that between 10 to 20 percent of Central and South Americans arriving in the city have latent TB infections, which are asymptomatic and not contagious.

In a statement, a spokesperson for CDPH addressed the situation, stating, “CDPH is aware of a small number of cases of TB among new arrivals in a few different shelters since the beginning of the response.” The spokesperson highlighted that active cases of TB disease are managed by assigning a nurse case manager to each individual and conducting contact tracing investigations.

The statement further assured the public that TB is curable with antibiotics and is not highly infectious, typically requiring prolonged close contact between individuals for transmission to occur.

Fury as Boston plans to fill former veteran housing with migrants as city asks residents to take people in

Massachusetts residents are outraged at recently announced plans to turn a former Boston area veteran housing unit into a homeless shelter as the city is inundated with migrants.

Democrat Governor Maura Healey revealed the government will turn the former Chelsea Soldiers’ Home facility, which is vacant and scheduled for demolition, into a safety-net site in April.

It will be able to accommodate 100 families who are eligible for the state’s Emergency Assistance family shelter system, which has been operating at capacity for months.

Residents of the Bay State, however, are furious that the former veteran housing facility is being turned into migrant shelter when on a single night in 2023 there were 545 veterans experiencing homelessness in Massachusetts, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Local Dick McGrath said on Facebook: ‘Is it me, or is there something wrong with putting migrants in the Chelsea Soldiers Home instead of homeless veterans?’

Denver Official Caught on Video Begging Illegal Immigrants to Leave the Sanctuary City Due to Lack of Resources — Urges Them to Move to Chicago or New York

A Denver city official has been captured on video begging illegal immigrants to reconsider their choice to settle in the Mile High City, with a suggestion to head to other cities like New York or Chicago for better support.

The footage, obtained by 9NEWS, shows a candid moment of concern from the city’s newcomer Communications Liaison Andres Carrera, who is also the political director for Mayor Mike Johnston (D).

The video, which aired over the weekend, reveals Carrera speaking to a group of illegal immigrants sheltered in Denver since their arrival on Tuesday.

“We are not going to block you if you want to stay here… I am here to tell you know your path is not over,” Carrera said in Spanish.

He continued with a sobering caution, “If you stay here you are going to suffer even more, and I don’t want to see this.”

Carrera’s message was clear: Denver had reached its capacity due to an overwhelming number of migrants, leading to a scarcity of resources. He suggested that cities like New York and Chicago could offer better prospects, including longer-term shelter and more job opportunities.

Carrera even offered to facilitate their relocation by providing free bus tickets to their chosen destination, with a note that while the city could assist in getting them close to the Canadian border, it would not take them across.

INSANITY: El Paso Judge Orders Release of Illegal Immigrants Who Stormed the Border and Rioted Against National Guard

On Easter Sunday, El Paso Magistrate Judge Humberto Acosta ordered the release of a large group of illegal immigrants accused of participating in a violent encounter with National Guard troops along the Rio Grande.

The incident, which took place on March 21, has been described by authorities as a “border riot,” during which illegal immigrants, predominantly men from Venezuela, overwhelmed security measures and clashed with National Guard forces.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that hundreds of illegal aliens from Africa, Central America, Colombia, and Venezuela made a rush for the border in El Paso, Texas after they were pushed south of the concertina wire in the middle of the night by the National Guard.

The illegals breached the concertina wire, overwhelmed National Guard members, and made a rush for the border.

Biden Considering Granting Amnesty, Handing Out Green Cards To Illegal Immigrants: REPORT

President Joe Biden is currently considering granting amnesty to illegal migrants in a bid to act on the worsening immigration crisis, according to Politico.

Biden and his administration are weighing several ideas to take a tougher stance on the southern border crisis and illegal immigration amid criticisms he has thus far failed to act on either. The administration could start dolling out green cards to illegal immigrants who have long stayed inside the United States, thereby giving them amnesty to stay in the country, three people familiar with the planning told Politico.

The plan would grant migrants who have been in the country for more than 10 years access to the cancellation of removal program provided that they have relatives who would suffer if they were deported, according to Politico. Migrants could then receive a green card — a permanent residency grant —  if they meet the cancellation of removal requirements and an immigration judge rules in their favor.

It would represent a larger effort by Biden to take action on behalf of illegal immigrants who have long stayed inside the U.S., the three officials told Politico. The Obama administration took similar action in 2012 with the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which delayed the deportation of illegal migrants who came to the U.S. when they were minors.

New estimate says U.S. now has 13.7 million illegal immigrants, up 37% under Biden

President Biden’s wave of new illegal immigrants is upending the usual demographics of immigration and sending the education levels plummeting, according to a new report Thursday that raised big questions about the country’s ability to absorb the newcomers.

There are now 13.7 million illegal immigrants in the U.S., and 51.4 million immigrants overall — an increase of 6.4 million in three years since Mr. Biden took office, the Center for Immigration Studies reported. That averages 172,000 new immigrants each month, or roughly four times the rate in the Trump years and nearly three times the rate in the Obama years.

Most of the new arrivals are from Latin America and 3.7 million of the net new arrivals came illegally. Some 44% have no education beyond high school, and a significant number didn’t even complete high school.
