FLASHBACK: That Time in 2021 When Hakeem Jeffries Called the Filibuster a Racist Artifact of the Jim Crow Era 

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries launched an hours-long filibuster today, in an unsuccessful attempt to block the passage of the Big Beautiful Bill.

The liberal media talked about it all day. They just couldn’t get enough of Jeffries’ ‘historic’ speech.

Here’s how CBS News framed the story:

Hakeem Jeffries sets record for longest House speech before vote on Trump’s “big, beautiful bill”

There’s no filibuster in the House, but Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries essentially conducted one anyway as the House debated President Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” before it passed on Thursday.

Jeffries held the House floor for more than eight hours, taking his “sweet time” with a marathon floor speech that delayed passage of Republicans’ massive tax and spending cuts legislation and gave his minority party a lengthy spotlight to excoriate what he called an “immoral” bill.

As Democratic leader, Jeffries can speak for as long as he wants during debate on legislation — hence its nickname on Capitol Hill, the “magic minute,” that lasts as long as leaders are speaking.

He began the speech at 4:53 a.m. ET and finished at 1:37 p.m. ET, 8 hours, 44 minutes later, breaking the record set by then-Rep. Kevin McCarthy of California in 2021, when he was the GOP leader. McCarthy spoke for 8 hours, 32 minutes when he angrily criticized Democrats’ “Build Back Better” legislation, breaking a record set by Rep. Nancy Pelosi, when she spoke about immigration for 8 hours, 7 minutes in 2018.

So brave. So historic. One little problem.

Back in 2021, during an appearance on MSNBC with Al Sharpton, Jeffries called the filibuster a racist artifact of the Jim Crow era, and complained that the filibuster was allowing people to stand in the way of progress.

Democrats and the Fake News Media Are Hiding This from the American Public: Illegal Migrants Collect More Food, Housing, Cash Benefits, and Medicaid Than Natural Born Citizens

Democrat politicians and far left hacks in the legacy media are outraged that Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill cuts Medicaid for illegal aliens in the US.

They say it’s inhumane. They believe it is the American taxpayers duty to welcome millions of illegals a year into our country and to pay their bills.

Of course, this is national suicide. Democrats know this. MAGA knows this.

What these dirty politicians and their media bedfellows won’t tell you is that illegal aliens collect more benefits in food, housing, CA$H, and Medicaid than natural born Americans.

Democrats don’t want you to know this.

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) released a report in December 2023 that compares the percentage of natural born Americans receiving government handouts versus the number of illegal aliens receiving government benefits.

The report is based on numbers and data from the 2022 Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP).

The study found that 59 percent of non-citizen households (e.g., green card holders and illegal immigrants) used one or more major welfare program.

This compares to 39 percent of US-born households who receive one or more major welfare program.

Illegal aliens not only broke the law to enter the country but they’re sucking our resources dry.

Identitarian socialist Zohran Mamdani declared he was ‘Black or African American’ on college applications

South Asian socialist identitarian mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani identified as “Black or African American” as well as “Asian” on his college applications, The New York Times has learned via a hack of Columbia University’s application data. Millions of records were leaked.

Mamdani, who was born to parents of Indian descent in Uganda, said he checked the box because the identity boxes on the application weren’t enough to show the breadth and scope of his ethnic and racial composition.

He admitted to the Times that as a high school senior in 2009, he filled out all his forms the same way, including on his application to Columbia University, where his father taught then and is still on the faculty. The data hack was an effort to discover if Columbia still uses a race-based admissions program as they did at the time Mamdani was considering the school.

His Hollywood film director mother Mira Nair has said her son is “a total desi,” a term for South Asians. “He is a total desi,” she said in 2013, “We are not firangs at all. He is very much us. He is not an Uhmericcan (American) at all. He was born in Uganda, raised between India and America. He is at home in many places. He thinks of himself as a Ugandan and as an Indian.”

After Losing Their Minds for Months Over ‘Project 2025’ Democrats Are Now Crafting Their Own ‘Project 2029’

A year ago, when the 2024 presidential election was getting into full swing, Democrats and the media were freaking out about Project 2025, a conservative agenda that had been put together by think tanks on the right. Trump wasn’t even talking about it, but the left used it to try to panic voters and tie it directly to Trump.

Now, the same people are putting together their own version of it called ‘Project 2029.’

The left does this all the time. In 2004, they said they needed their own Drudge Report. In 2010, they said they needed their own Tea Party. In 2016, they started saying they needed their own Donald Trump. In 2024, they said they needed their own Joe Rogan.

Now they need their own Project 2025.

Democrats are taking a page from the conservative playbook.

A group of leading Democratic Party thinkers is beginning to collaborate on a policy agenda for their eventual presidential nominee in the 2028 election cycle.

And, as first reported by the New York Times, they’re calling it Project 2029. It’s an obvious play on the notorious Project 2025, the more than 900-page policy blueprint assembled by the conservative powerhouse Heritage Foundation think tank for the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nominee.

Democrats repeatedly attacked Project 2025 during the previous White House race as a far-right threat to the nation. Then-GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump and his campaign distanced themselves from the document, even as many Trump allies helped draft it.

All 45 Senate Dems Just Voted For A $4 Trillion Tax Increase

The Big Beautiful Bill was dragged over the Senate finish line with the support of just half the chamber, plus one tiebreaking vote from Vice President J.D. Vance. It still requires House approval before it is sent to the president’s desk for a signature. The tax and spend plan contains nuggets of President Donald Trump’s agenda, including his 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), a sunsetting tax cut many Americans have become accustomed to.

Without the passage of the BBB, TCJA will expire Dec. 31, certain tax rules will revert to pre-TCJA levels, and then taxpayers will feel the burn Democrats voted for.   

“Failure to pass this legislation would result in a $4 trillion tax hike,” according to the White House. But a huge tax hit to the American people is not enough to move half the Senate to support the BBB.

Tuesday’s vote was passed with 50 Republican senators in favor. All 45 Democrats voted no. They were joined by three Republicans, Sens. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, Susan Collins of Maine, and Rand Paul of Kentucky. Also, two independents voted no, Sen. Angus King of Maine and Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

At least we know Republicans are willing to break from the pack and think on their own. But we won’t forget those Republicans who voted with Democrats to increase taxes. Because of them, this vote was way too close.

No one is surprised that Democrats voted in unison. Democrats are forever working against Trump instead of for voters. They would rather win a political battle than let regular Americans keep the TCJA standard deduction, which more than double what it used to be.

Maybe senators opposed to tax savings for constituents don’t understand how tax breaks can affect someone earning the average U.S. income of $62,000. After all, that is much lower than a senator’s tax bracket.

For example, Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., has a net worth of something like $251 million. Warner railed against the BBB, making all kinds of dramatic social media posts before the vote. He tried to connect with regular people in one post by waving an Egg McMuffin in one hand and a McDonalds hashbrown in the other. “Trying to keep the fuel. Pretty damn tired,” he explained, his hair still perfect after allegedly working 24 hours straight. I’d wager $4 trillion the breakfast was just for show and he never took a bite.

Schumer indicates Democrats are not slowing on amendments to ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ amid vote-a-rama

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Monday night indicated that Democrats do not intend to stop introducing amendments to President Donald Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” even as it slows the process down.

The Senate is currently conducting its vote-a-rama on the legislation, which allows senators to offer an unlimited number of amendments to the policy bill that they must proceed to vote on. Once the amendments are added or rejected, the chamber will vote on the entire legislative package as a whole, which is expected to take place early Tuesday morning.

Schumer did not indicate how many more amendments will be introduced before the final vote, but said Democrats want to introduce “as many amendments as we can.” 

“We need to show the American people in every way how bad this bill is for them,” Schumer told reporters. “They don’t like these amendments. The public is on our side in almost every amendment we do. Why would we want to stop offering amendments when they show the contrast between the parties? We want to do as many amendments as we can.”

If the Senate is able to pass their version of the bill, it will go back to the House, where it is expected to meet some resistance and likely be further changed. At that point, it would have to go back again to the Senate for approval before going to the Oval Office for final approval.

Democrat Senator Makes an Incredibly Bizarre Claim After Being Confronted with News of Record-Low Border Crossings Under the Trump Administration

Democrats are so damaged by Trump Derangement syndrome that they are utterly incapable of giving him credit for, and have to make up the most insane stuff imaginable to find fault.

During an appearance on “Meet the Press,” Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) was confronted by host Kristen Welker with the historically low border crossing numbers under the Trump Administration.

As TGP readers know, this is because we have a President who is not only enforcing the immigration laws on the books, but also because he has struck fear in the hearts of illegal migrants who are even considering making the journey.

This is a complete 180 from the lawless border policies under the Biden regime.

“You know, border crossings are at a record low,” Welker told Murphy. “Do you give the Trump Administration some credit for that…Do you think things are moving in the right direction?”

Murphy, though, could not admit the obvious and uttered this unbelievable whopper.

“No, I don’t give them credit for that because border crossings are low because they’re violating the law every day,” he retorted.

What is he talking about?

Dead Democrats Keep Posting Online From Beyond the Grave — and No One Knows Who’s Behind It

It appears that even death cannot stop Democratic lawmakers from social media posting.

According to a report from Politico, many prominent accounts of deceased members of Congress remain active on social media.

This phenomenon has become increasingly widespread over the past year, as lawmakers who have passed away continue to like, comment, and even change their profile pictures months or even years after their passing.

Social media users have picked up on the activity of numerous individuals. The most recent example is that of Virginia Democrat Gerry Connolly, who died of esophageal cancer last month.

Among the activity Connolly’s accounts have engaged in include urging people to go out and vote. That post has since been deleted.

Those with access to his accounts have also continued to take advantage of his mailing list, using it to solicit donations for the campaign of his replacement.

Meanwhile, the late Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas liked an Instagram post congratulating the communist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani on his win in the Democratic primary.

Radical Socialist NYC Mayoral Candidate Making Dems Nervous: Sen. Gillibrand Begs Mamdani to Denounce ‘Globalize the Intifada’ Rhetoric

Democrats are getting nervous about how the views and policies of the socialist NYC Mayoral candidate, Zohran Mamdani, may further expose their own radical plans. And they want him to tone it down.

On Thursday, during a heated exchange with WNYC radio host Brian Lehrer, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) called on Mamdani to unequivocally denounce the phrase “globalize the Intifada.”

Gillibrand argued that the phrase is received by the public (correctly) as a call to “slaughter the Jews.”

A caller to the show accused Mamdani of glorifying Hamas and supporting the violent attacks associated with the intifada terrorism campaign Israel faced in the 1990s.

Gillibrand responded to the assertion adding,”The caller is exactly the New York constituents that I’ve spoken to that are alarmed. They are alarmed by past public statements. They are alarmed by past positions, particularly references to global jihad,” she said.

“This is a very serious issue because people that glorify the slaughter of Jews create fear in our communities. The global intifada is a statement that means destroy Israel and kill all the Jews.”

Gillibrand urged Mamdani to assure all New Yorkers that “he will protect all Jews and protect houses of worship and protect funding for not-for-profits that meet the needs of these communities.”

Lehrer took issue with Gillibrand position and her assertion that Mamdani had called for a “global intifada.”

The senator replied, “One of the issues I did talk to him about yesterday was exactly this issue, and he has agreed to work with me on this and to protect all residents.”

Democrat Rep. Pramila Jayapal Shares’ Sob Story’ About ICE Supposedly Abusing Pregnant Illegal and It Backfires when the Migrant’s Chilling Background Emerges

Far-left Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) ended up red-faced earlier this week after she tried to defend an illegal alien supposedly mistreated by ICE when the horrifying truth regarding her misdeeds was unveiled.

On Wednesday, the Nashville Banner wrote a sob story about a pregnant illegal alien named Iris Dayana Monterroso-Lemus from Guatemala, who was arrested by ICE in Tennessee in late April and then sent to an ICE facility in Louisiana.

The paper went on to allege Monterroso-Lemus received lackluster prenatal care while in custody and ended up losing her baby.

Look at this biased, so-called ‘reporting’ from the Nashville Banner:

On Mother’s Day this year, Iris Dayana Monterroso-Lemus found herself alone in Guatemala, a country she hadn’t called home in more than a decade. At 38, the once-vibrant, curly-haired woman seemed withered and shaken.

After she was arrested by ICE in Lenoir City, she ended up at the Richwood Correctional Center in Louisiana, where she experienced the unimaginable. After pleading for medical help for days, she lost her mid-term pregnancy.

“I had him inside here for three days, in this Louisiana facility, my baby dead in my stomach, inside my stomach for three days, dead,” she said.

The publication went on to connect this tragic circumstance to President Trump daring to enforce immigration laws.

Monterroso-Lemus’s experience in detention comes amid the Trump administration’s crackdown on undocumented immigrants and the mounting claims of abuse and discrimination tied to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests across the country. In Nashville, ICE and the Tennessee Highway Patrol officials recently made 588 traffic stops in predominantly Latino neighborhoods as part of a joint operation that led to the arrests of 196 undocumented residents.

Despite claims that ICE was only targeting criminals, fewer than half had prior criminal records. As the Banner reported, in the overnight operation between May 3 and 4, THP made more than twice as many traffic stops as Metro Nashville police did during both days combined, fueling allegations of racial profiling.

Jayapal promptly seized on the story and amplified it across social media.

“A pregnant woman lost her baby after ICE refused to give her prenatal care. She begged for help and was denied,” the congresswoman wrote on X. “She was fed food full of cockroaches. She was forced to sleep on the floor. “

“This is absolutely disgusting, and we should all be outraged.”
