Los Angeles Spent $60 Million on Nithya Raman Plan to Get Homeless People Off the Street – It Has Housed THREE UNITS

Nithya Raman, the Democratic Socialist (communist) running for mayor of Los Angeles, is also a member of the LA City Council, who chairs their special council on homelessness.

Last year, the city enacted a plan that was championed by Raman, which was intended to get homeless people off the streets and into apartments.

Despite carrying out the plan, which cost $60 million, only three units have been housed as a result.

Los Angeles residents can look forward to more of this kind of success in the future, no matter who wins the current race for mayor, Raman or incumbent Karen Bass.

Just three out of a promised 2,000 apartments have been used to relocate the homeless in Nithya Raman’s failed $60 million project to get people off the streets.

Councilmember Raman, the chair of the Los Angeles City Council’s Housing and Homelessness Committee, introduced the Time Limited Subsidy program back in September as a cheaper alternative to Mayor Karen Bass’ Inside Safe Program — meant to get homeless people into an established residence.

Raman’s plan was to lease and move homeless people into 2,000 apartments and subsidize their rent, rather than pay for them to stay in motels or shelters.

However, nearly a year after that plan was launched — with $62.6 million in taxpayer funds behind it — only three apartments are occupied.

The City Council first approved investing in the subsidy model last September as part of its strategy for complying with a court settlement with the Los Angeles Alliance for Human Rights.

Four months later, on January 28, the council approved resources for a redesigned program targeting 2,000 households…

DSA’s New Plan: Abolish Senate, Amnesty for Illegals — Deliver Madison’s “Tyranny”

Are the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) trying to visit tyranny on the United States? Evaluating their new platform, you’d have to say yes if heeding a warning from James Madison, “father of the Constitution.” He famously said in The Federalist, No. 47:

The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny.

This, too, is essentially what the DSA’s new platform would establish. As Fox News reported Friday:

According to a source familiar with the DSA’s planning, the organization plans to roll out an update next week to its long-term vision for a U.S. policy platform. The update includes eliminating the U.S. Senate and replacing the president and the Supreme Court with an executive branch and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress.

So to be clear, the DSA’s platform would undermine the Constitution’s prescribed balance of powers. It would enable a one-chamber Congress (no Senate) to appoint a president and judges who are rubber stamps for its agenda.

Under our current system, the president is, of course, chosen by the people. He then can nominate judges, who subsequently must be confirmed by citizen-elected senators before taking the bench. Moreover, Congress is already the most powerful branch, as the House can impeach the president and judges. The Senate can then vote to convict, giving the legislature capacity to remove such officials from office. The other two branches have no such power over Congress.

But the DSA would expand this power precipitously. Its plan would, in a de facto sense, place “all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary” in Congress’ hands. And it’s irrelevant that those “hands” are “elective” (as Congress is), as Madison stressed.

Many would point out that this moves us closer to a parliamentary system, as exists in Britain and Canada. Others would take an even darker view. As a top Yahoo!news commenter writes, responding to the Fox article:

Once you get this enacted, and the socialists are in power, they will NEVER relinquish it. Ever.

A single chamber “congress” will be, by definition, a one party body that will rubber stamp policies of the party.

The model for this is the Soviet Union.

The respondent is alluding to the USSR’s Politburo (Political Bureau), the fallen communist empire’s top decision-making body.

How To Beat Back The Democratic Socialists

New York City’s Democrat primary results set off a political fuse that is causing explosions across Democrat federal, state, and local power structures. The victorious Democratic Socialists of America smoked two Democrat incumbents in Congress and elected a third DSA member to an open Congressional seat, ended the political careers of Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer and House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries, and set up the DSA as the kingmaker in the 2028 presidential primaries.

Why did the far left of the Democrat party, represented by the DSA, suddenly amplify its rhetoric from universal health care, oligarchy, and affordability to an intense onslaught against America, Israel, and capitalism? And in doing so, mount a challenge to the Democrat establishment?

Next Presidential Election

The answer is Election 2028. Democrat leadership shut out the young, radical generation for two decades. Democrat voters haven’t had a choice for President since 2008, when Barack Obama was the far-left’s lightbringer. Then the Democrat leadership connived to steal the 2016 and 2020 presidential nominations from socialist Bernie Sanders.

With political strength in America’s largest cities — New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles — it’s tempting to write off the primary results as an urban problem. The truth is, the DSA members hold over 250 elected offices nationwide.

The DSA and its allies have been training for a power-grab for a decade. In 2018, it auditioned Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her unexpected primary victory over a longtime Congressional incumbent. During 2020’s George Floyd “summer of love” primary, a middle school principal of a failing Bronx charter school by the name of Jamaal Bowman beat New York incumbent Congressman Eliot Engle, then the chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee and an ardent supporter of Israel.

Working through AOC’s Squad got copious press but modest headway until the election of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who showed the DSA that openly professing antisemitism, anti-Americanism, and Marxism was a winning combination with no meaningful political consequences.

As a result, the DSA movement is invigorated by an intensity of purpose that would have been political suicide in any other election cycle.

Ahead of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, DSA éminence grise Senator Bernie Sanders voiced the same conclusion: “I believe that it may just be possible that this country is on the verge of the political revolution we have fought for for such a long time.”

Transgender DSA Member and Former AZ Democratic Party Vice Chair Arrested After Allegedly Breaking into Home Wielding Knife and Duct Tape – Claims He Was Roleplaying

A former Arizona congressional candidate and ex-Democratic Party leader was arrested last week on charges of felony burglary at an ex-partner’s home. 

The suspect, Brianna Westbrook, has run for federal and state offices, including a failed 2018 bid for US Congress and losses in Democratic primaries for the Arizona State Senate and Arizona House of Representatives in 2018 and 2022.

According to ballotready.org, Westbrook’s professional experience includes serving as the Southwest Regional Co-Chair of the Democratic Socialists of America Immigrant Rights National Working Group from 2019 to the present, and a past stint as Arizona Democratic Party Vice Chair from 2019 to 2021.

Westbrook was reportedly arrested after a former partner told the police that Westbrook allegedly “pushed her way” into the victim’s home, while carrying a knife and duct tape, according to 12 News Phoenix.

Following a struggle inside the home, Westbrook reportedly threatened the victim and another individual inside the home before Westbrook reportedly “took off running,” according to records.

According to court documents, officers found “a knife, tape, and gloves” after conducting a search.

Westbrook, however, told police it was a “big misunderstanding” and that they were acting out a role-playing scene, which the victim has denied.

Mamdani’s Affordability Agenda Flops As NYC Rents Surge To Record Highs

New York City’s socialist mayor, Zohran Mamdani, and his radical-left lieutenants in City Hall promised voters free bus rides, government-run grocery stores, cheap housing, and much more. Yet the dream of a left-wing utopia has not materialized. In fact, rents in the NYC metro area just hit a record high.

New data from The Corcoran Group, a major residential real estate brokerage founded in NYC, shows that rents in the metro area have climbed to a new record high.

Manhattan’s median rent rose 8% from a year earlier to $5,295, while Brooklyn reached $4,350, also up 8%, according to the report. Manhattan’s vacancy rate narrowed to 1.49%. In Queens, Rego Park posted particularly sharp increases, with one-bedroom rents up 12% and studio rents up more than 20%.

“Manhattan renters are chasing a shrinking pool of available apartments, and the result has become predictable — record rents. Available listings dropped 16% year-over-year in June, while the borough’s median rent climbed to a new high of $5,295 . Leasing activity clocked in 7% below last year’s pace due to the lack of inventory, causing competition to remain fierce. Additionally, June marked one year since implementation of the FARE Act, a milestone that may still be influencing pricing trends, particularly within the non-doorman market. Across the board, quality apartments are commanding a premium, and renters have little room to negotiate,” Corcoran COO Gary Malin wrote in the report.

Malin continued, “Brooklyn’s rental market is also rewriting the record books. Median rent jumped 8% year-over-year to an all-time high of $4,350 and apartments spent 30% fewer days on the market. This steep annual decline underscores how tight the market has become, with flat inventory and strong demand strong causing available units to rent far faster than a year ago. While lease signings were lower on an annual basis, activity picked up from May as renters moved quickly to secure apartments ahead of the busiest stretch of the summer season. Throughout the borough, competition.”

City Comptroller Mark Levine commented on the new report, saying, “NYC’s housing affordability crisis is at DEFCON 1. We need to push harder on every front to address our housing shortage.”

“Update zoning, invest more City $ in affordable units, lower the time & cost City bureaucracy imposes on construction, get 1000s of vacant regulated units back on the market. We need bold action. This is a crisis,” Levine added.

IRONY: One of the DSA Activists Who Recruited Graham Platner to Run for Senate Has ALSO Faced Sexual Misconduct Complaints

As the Gateway Pundit has reported, Graham Platner did not just decide to run for U.S. Senate, he was recruited by a pair of Ivy League educated DSA activists who were looking specifically for someone with a blue collar image.

Now that Platner has dropped out of the race over allegations of sexual assault and rape, it is comiing to light that one of the activists who recruited him has also faced complaints about sexual misconduct. You couldn’t make this up.

Daniel Moraff is the grandson of the founder of Toys R Us. In 2022, he was barred from the campaign of Summer Lee after other volunteers and staffers complained about unwanted sexual advances.

The New York Post reports:

Graham Platner strategist who recruited disgraced Senate candidate also an accused sex pest

One half of the champagne socialist duo who recruited and failed to properly vet accused rapist Graham Platner was reportedly booted from a previous congressional campaign due to sexual misconduct accusations from at least three women.

Yale Law-educated Daniel Moraff, 31, the grandson of one of the Toys “R” Us founders, worked on the campaign to elect far-left “Squad” Rep. Summer Lee to Congress in Pennsylvania in 2022, after leading efforts to recruit her a few years before to run in state politics in Pittsburgh.

But he was quickly barred from campaign events and speaking to staffers after Lee received multiple sexual harassment complaints against him, according to labor publication Payday Report.

“Birds of a feather flock together and Moraff and Platner were predators,” said one of the unnamed women who claims she was sexually harassed by Moraff during Lee’s 2022 campaign.

“He doesn’t have boundaries with women, nor much of an ethical code,” said one woman who complained of his sexual misconduct in Pittsburgh, adding she wasn’t surprised Moraff backed Platner, who dropped out of the Maine Senate race this week after a woman accused him of raping her while he was drunk.

Between this and the utter implosion of Graham Platner as a candidate, it is probably safe to assume that Daniel Moraff’s future as a political operative is pretty much over.

  • Grant universal amnesty to all illegal aliens.
  • Defund the Department of Defense (which the platform refers to as the “Department of War”).
  • Close overseas U.S. military bases.
  • End American economic sanctions against foreign adversaries.
  • Abolish what it calls the “carceral forces of the capitalist state,” including sweeping police and prison reforms.

If implemented, these proposals would fundamentally transform the American system of government by eliminating the constitutional separation of powers established by the Founding Fathers.

The Commies Are Coming! The Israel Factor Behind the New Red Scare

In June, a slew of progressive Democrats won primaries in some cases upending incumbents with long careers in Washington. Following in the footsteps Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral victory in New York City in 2025, Brad Lander, Claire Valdez, and Darializa Avila Chevalier bested their opponents and in the case of Lander and a Chevalier, defeated sitting House members.

Meanwhile, in Colorado, 29-year-old Merat Kiros beat 30-year House incumbent Dianne DeGette in their Democratic primary. So what is the through line here? Israel. All have criticized the war in Gaza and pledged not to take money from AIPAC or vote for more military aid for Israel.

These current political events encapsulate a party enmeshed in inner turmoil. While party leaders and the consultant class want to ignore it, ordinary voters, especially Democrats, have been turning against Israel over its war in Gaza, the annexation and settler violence in the West Bank and its expansionist policies in Lebanon and Syria. This, many say, cost them the presidency in 2024.

On the other hand, while the progressive wing, many of whom are carrying the mantle of the Democratic Socialists of America, are gaining traction, the MAGA movement is struggling to reconcile President Trump’s war and the fraught economy at home. Many on the Right, too, are blaming the Israeli government’s zeal for conflict and its grip on Trump’s foreign policy and say this is far from “America First.”

To keep these two factions from working together, Trump and the Republicans have exhumed the Cold War era “Red Scare” against the upstart progressives. It’s an age old wedge — the Commies are coming! Will it work?

What was once a center-left party built around labor, civil rights, and working-class citizens is now being pulled into a radical left revolutionary movement, apparently influenced by foreign subversion operations that seek the destruction of the U.S., hence the anti-American rhetoric.

These DSA and allied activists are using primary wins, urban power centers, and left-wing NGO infrastructure to push Democrats further left ahead of the next election cycle.
