FDA approves Moderna’s new lower-dose COVID-19 vaccine

The U.S. approved a new COVID-19 vaccine made by Moderna late Friday but with limits on who can use it — not a replacement for the company’s existing shot, but a second option.

The new vaccine, mNexspike, is a step toward next-generation coronavirus vaccines. It’s made in a way that allows for a lower dose — a fifth of the dose of its current COVID-19 vaccine, Spikevax — by refining its immune target.

The approval “adds an important new tool to help protect people at high risk of severe disease from COVID-19,” Stephane Bancel, Moderna’s CEO, said in a statement Saturday.

The Food and Drug Administration approved the new vaccine for use in all adults 65 and older, and for people age 12 to 64 who have a least one health condition that puts them at increased risk from the coronavirus.

That’s the same limit that the FDA set in licensing another COVID-19 vaccine option from competitor Novavax.

Those restrictions are a departure from how the U.S. has handled COVID-19 vaccines until now, reflecting skepticism about vaccines from Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and other Trump officials.

Moderna’s existing vaccine doesn’t face those limits and has long been used for anyone ages 6 months and older. The company said it expected to offer both options this fall.

Feds bust fraud ring accused of stealing $47M in COVID, small business loans

For the second week in a row, the Department of Homeland Security carried out a dramatic, early-morning raid in Los Angeles targeting transnational organized crime rings. This week’s bust netted fourteen arrests from an Armenian fraud ring that investigators say stole $30 million in COVID relief and Small Business loans meant to help taxpaying Americans.

“If you are taking money from the government that doesn’t belong to you, your door could be the next one that we’re hitting,” said U.S. Attorney for California’s Central District, Bill Essayli.

Fox News was exclusively embedded with DHS in the multi-agency sting that included the IRS and the Small Business Administration.

Thirteen of the suspects are Armenian-born but have become naturalized. At least one of the suspects faces deportation.

“This is the police. We have a warrant. Come out with your hands up!” one officer’s voice echoed on a loudspeaker attached to an armored vehicle with agents inside. The special unit inside the armored vehicle first cut the chain on a gated driveway and then demanded one of the targeted suspects come out of his L.A.-area home in a sunrise bust.

Trump pardons Mark Bashaw, former Army officer who defied covid protocols

President Donald Trump on Wednesday pardoned a former Army officer who was found guilty in 2022 by a military judge of violating coronavirus prevention protocols, a White House official who was not authorized to speak publicly confirmed to The Washington Post.

Former 1st Lt. Mark Bashaw was convicted and sentenced to no punishment for his refusal to obey orders meant to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. According to the military news publication Stars and Stripes, Bashaw did not comply with orders to telework, submit a negative coronavirus test before reporting to work or wear a mask indoors.

Bashaw, who was an entomologist at the Army Public Health Center in Maryland, said he was facing discrimination because of his religious beliefs. He said he was discharged in 2023.

After receiving the pardon on Wednesday, Bashaw said on social media that he was “humbled, grateful, and ready to continue fighting for truth and justice.” The post also included an image that referenced the “plandemic,” a debunked conspiracy theory about COVID-19.

Within weeks of being sworn in for his second presidential term, Trump issued an executive action directing the defense secretary and the secretary of homeland security to reinstate members of the military who were discharged for their refusal to receive the coronavirus vaccine.

FBI’s Bongino Says Agency Probing COVID-19 Origin Cover-Up as New Strain Drives Cases

The FBI is investigating the alleged cover-up of the origins of COVID-19, the agency’s deputy director, Dan Bongino, said on May 29, as a new strain of the virus has started to circulate in some parts of the world.

“As we read and process reports of a new COVID strain emerging, I want you to know that we are actively investigating, in multiple field offices, the cover-up of the origin of the COVID virus, along with associated matters requiring our attention,” Bongino wrote in a post on social media platform X. “You deserve answers.”

Bongino did not state which field offices are probing the origins of the virus or which individuals are involved in the alleged cover-up. The FBI has not issued an official statement on the investigation.

The Epoch Times has contacted the FBI for further comment.

In April, the Trump administration changed a White House COVID-19 page to say that the virus likely emerged from a laboratory in Wuhan, China, in 2019.

The page also criticizes former White House COVID-19 adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci, who stepped down as chief medical adviser under the Biden administration in 2022, and other individuals it says repeatedly sought to discredit the lab leak theory.

Medical journal ‘cartel’ that demonized lab-leak, hydroxychloroquine shown the door by Kennedy

The legitimacy of prestigious medical and scientific journals is under siege as the Trump administration threatens to take federal research elsewhere and scrutiny falls on their alleged coziness with regulators, interest groups and drugmakers, with perhaps the most serious consequences in the integrity of COVID-19 origin research.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. called out the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American Medical Association and The Lancet as “corrupt,” on The Ultimate Human podcast Tuesday.

The National Institutes of Health will “probably” stop publishing its scientists’ research there, and each institute will set up its own journal “unless these journals change dramatically,” he said.

One obvious target for publishing is the new Journal of the Academy of Public Health, established in part by NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya and Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Marty Makary shortly before they were tapped for the new administration.

HHS also plans to devote “probably 20% of NIH’s budget to replication” to address the longstanding irreproducibility crisis, he said. “Every study has to be replicated.”

Asked which medical journals weren’t on Kennedy’s blacklist, an HHS spokesperson told Just the News its “top priority is to ensure scientific research remains rigorous, transparent, and accessible to the American people. The secretary urges leading medical journals to increase transparency and reduce editorial bias.”

It’s just one of many big changes in the federal public health agencies, with Kennedy and his Argentine counterpart announcing they are creating an “alternative international health system” to the World Health Organization in the wake of WHO’s first-ever pandemic treaty.

HHS also pared back COVID vaccine recommendations and cut Moderna’s $700 million bird flu vaccine contract.

Kennedy alleged the pharmaceutical industry and “medical cartel” have captured and transformed NIH, FDA, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid into “essentially sock puppets for the industry and profit centers” that “commoditized the American public and turned us all into patients.”

How Lies And Hubris Caused An Awakening

In March 2020, the phrase “Fifteen days to slow the spread” was transmitting faster than SARS-CoV-2. At the time, it seemed reasonable to want to buy our health care workers a few weeks to prepare. Contemporaneously, Dr. Anthony Fauci reasonably summarized decades of research in his 60 Minutes interview by saying that masks are not an effective way to block respiratory viruses.

In a Snapchat interview, Dr. Fauci reasonably interpreted timely data on Covid-19 outcomes to conclude that young people could decide for themselves if they wanted to meet strangers on a dating app during the pandemic. As Dr. Fauci put it: “Because that’s what’s called relative risk.”

Even the authors of the “proximal origin” opinion piece in Nature Medicine made reasonable points in support of a natural origin of SARS-CoV-2 (despite revealing their cards by calling “lab leak” implausible): “..it is likely that SARS-CoV-2-like viruses with partial or full polybasic cleavage sites will be discovered in other species” and “More scientific data could swing the balance of evidence to favor one hypothesis over another.”

Five years later, thousands of animals have been sampled, millions of genomic sequences have been analyzed, and still there is nothing remotely close to a non-human adapted, animal version of SARS-CoV-2; back in 2003, using “stone tools” compared to today’s technology, they found the animal version of that SARS virus in a few months.

Unfortunately, the honeymoon of reason was brief. Overwhelming evidence that SARS-CoV-2 was not natural became a “destructive conspiracy,” and if you spoke about it, you were somehow racist

Surgeon General Jerome Adams instructed us on how to make a life-saving mask from an old t-shirt. Dr. Fauci used the bizarre excuse that he lied in his 60 Minutes interview to explain why he abruptly reversed himself and began promoting the epidemiological theater of wearing several masks at once.

Not to be outdone, Dr. Deborah Birx summed up the futility of her leadership with this pearl: “We know that there are ways that you can even play tennis with marked balls so you’re not touching each other’s balls.” This sounded more like a punchline than worthwhile public health advice. Perhaps most egregious of all, we learned that “Two weeks to slow the spread” was not meant to be taken literally.

For me, a professor of microbiology for nearly 25 years, the moment of reason ended when I stepped into an elevator on my campus and saw a floor sticker telling me where to stand (Fig. 1). I simply could not keep quiet and pretend that this was sound public health advice.

BOMBSHELL: Report Lays Out How Biden Covered Up Deadly Side-Effects Of COVID Vaccine

The Biden administration was aware of potentially deadly side effects associated with COVID vaccines and chose not to alert the public about the risks for months, according to a bombshell Senate report obtained by The Daily Wire.

According to the report from the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, officials knew as early as February 2021 that the vaccines were associated with myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) and pericarditis (inflammation of the thin sac surrounding the heart). Still, they waited to warn the public until June as they pushed the vaccine on Americans.

The report concludes that U.S. health officials “knew about the risks of myocarditis,” “downplayed the health concern,” and deliberately “delayed informing the public about the risk.”

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), who chairs the committee and will lead a hearing on it later this afternoon, told The Daily Wire that Biden officials delayed reporting the side effects because they were concerned about “vaccine hesitancy.”

“But in being concerned about that, they violated the inviolable principle of informed consent,” Johnson said.

Vaccine Cover-Up: The Greatest Biden Scandal of All

It is an undeniable scandal of mammoth proportions, but one that is – surprise, surprise – still being ignored by major media. It all began in February of 2021, shortly after Joe Biden took the oath of office with the pandemic still raging. Health officials in Israel sent a dire warning to the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) detailing “large reports of myocarditis, particularly in young people” who received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Many doctors and vaccinated individuals witnessed the same phenomenon here in the US. The affliction strikes the heart muscle, and in many recorded instances has caused heart failure and even death. But those raising red flags were discredited, scorned, and silenced.

After years of anecdotal reports about perilous side effects from the vaccine, the Senate’s Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, headed by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), finally conducted a hearing on the matter on May 21, 2025, and the revelations should have made headline news.

As you undoubtedly remember, we were repeatedly assured by top officials in the Biden administration that the vaccine, approved for emergency use and released during the waning days of the first Trump administration, was completely safe and effective. Every living former US president and first lady – except Trump and his wife, of course – participated in a public service announcement touting the vaccine in March of 2021 – after the warning from Israel about myocarditis.

Media Hypes New COVID Variant NB.1.8.1 Just ONE WEEK After WHO Member States Signed Pandemic Agreement

Dozens of mainstream media outlets published articles this week warning readers of a new COVID-19 variant spreading throughout China, Europe and the U.S.

Several headlines about the NB.1.8.1 variant also pointed out the Trump administration is restricting access to COVID shots for healthy citizens, attempting to tie the decision to the new strain’s spread.

“Today, the ‘Covid Vaccine’ for healthy children and healthy pregnant women has been removed from the CDC recommended immunization schedule…” Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said Tuesday.

The variant just happens to be making headlines across the globe just a week after the World Health Organization adopted the world’s first Pandemic Agreement.

“The world is safer today thanks to the leadership, collaboration and commitment of our Member States to adopt the historic WHO Pandemic Agreement,” said Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General. “The Agreement is a victory for public health, science and multilateral action. It will ensure we, collectively, can better protect the world from future pandemic threats. It is also a recognition by the international community that our citizens, societies and economies must not be left vulnerable to again suffer losses like those endured during COVID-19.”

The U.S. did not sign onto the agreement as it did not have representatives present during the vote with President Donald Trump announcing in January America officially left the WHO.

While current data does not indicate the NB.1.8.1 strain causes more severe illness than prior variants, a professor of microbiology and immunology at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, told CBS News in an emailed statement that “it may spread more easily.”

The Non-Existent Flu Cases of 2020

In 2020, the United States faced the shock of a new pandemic — but also a baffling medical mystery: the disappearance of the seasonal flu. While COVID-19 cases dominated headlines and hospital beds, flu diagnoses plummeted to “too low to estimate,” according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with later estimates at a mere 2000.

That’s not just a statistical anomaly — it’s a statistical impossibility. From an estimated 48 million cases in 2019–2020, the flu dropped to 2000 cases, statistically zero, in 2020–2021, amounting to a 99.999998% decrease — or put another way, a nearly 10 million percent drop. In the realm of infectious disease, that kind of disappearance doesn’t happen without a force far greater than a virus. In this case, that force may have been government incentives, diagnostic bias, and political opportunity.

Side-by-Side Comparison: Flu vs. COVID-19 (and Total Deaths)

Here is a year-by-year comparison of flu and COVID-19 cases in the U.S., alongside total recorded deaths from all causes:

YearFlu CasesCOVID-19 CasesTotal U.S. Deaths
2015–1624 millionN/A2.7 million
2016–1729 millionN/A2.7 million
2017–1845 millionN/A2.8 million
2018–1929 millionN/A2.8 million
2019–2048 millionN/A2.9 million
2020–212000~20 million3.4 million
2021–2211 million~35 million3.5 million
2022–2331 million~25 million3.3 million
2023–2440 million~15 million3.3 million

If mask mandates, social distancing, and lockdowns truly drove flu cases to extinction in 2020, why did COVID-19 — transmitted in much the same way — surge to 20 million cases that same year? It’s a paradox that challenges the public narrative.
