According to a report from ABC News, the fund would compensate individuals who were politically targeted during the Biden years, including many January 6 defendants, conservative activists, and other Trump allies caught in what critics have called one of the largest political persecutions in modern American history.

The move is already sending shockwaves through Washington.

For years, conservatives have argued that the Biden DOJ operated with a two-tiered justice system, aggressively prosecuting Trump supporters while ignoring violent left-wing extremism and politically connected insiders. Many January 6 defendants spent months or even years tied up in court battles, facing prison sentences, financial ruin, public humiliation, and permanent damage to their reputations.

Trump allies say the new compensation fund is about restoring justice and acknowledging the suffering many Americans endured during the Biden administration.

Trump Links Hakeem Jeffries to WHCA Assassination Attempt, Demands Criminal Charges

President Donald Trump on Thursday linked violent rhetoric flowing from House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to political violence, including the most recent assassination attempt on him.

“This lunatic, Hakeem ‘Low IQ’ Jeffries, should be charged with INCITING VIOLENCE!” Trump posted on Truth Social.

Trump posted an image of Jeffries standing by a photo of Trump that had the words “maximum warfare, everywhere all the time” upon it. Next to that was an image from a video that showed accused gunman Cory Tomas Allen as he arrived at the White House Correspondents Association dinner

“The Radical Left Democrats actually want to Destroy our Country,” Trump posted.

When Jeffiries was asked about the comment he made after the attempt on Trump’s life, he said, “I stand by it,” according to Axios.

Jeffries mocked “so-called criticism from these phony Republicans.”

Armed suspect who allegedly shot at Secret Service officers near White House identified as Texas man

Fox News has learned the name of the suspect shot by U.S. Secret Service officers near the White House this week. 

Michael Marx, a 45-year-old Texan, has been identified as the individual seen allegedly carrying a firearm just blocks from the White House on Monday, sources told Fox News on Tuesday.

Secret Service Uniformed Division officers engaged the suspect after he was observed pulling a gun, a federal source previously told Fox News Digital. 

In a news conference, Secret Service Deputy Director Matt Quinn told reporters that the suspect allegedly shot in the direction of officers after they tried to confront him near 15th Street and Independence Avenue, causing the agents to return fire.

A juvenile suspect was also struck by the suspect and sustained non-life-threatening injuries, Quinn said. 

Quinn said the confrontation began after trained surveillance personnel spotted a “visual print” of a weapon.

“My understanding is they observed a print,” Quinn said. “These are trained surveillance detection personnel out there looking every day to look for just that… and they observed a visual print of a firearm.”

Top D.C. Police Officials Face Firing Amid Probe Into Alleged Crime Data Cover-Up

Multiple senior officials in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department are facing termination or discipline as investigations into alleged manipulation of crime statistics intensify.

According to multiple law enforcement sources who spoke with The Washington Post, several high-ranking officers, including two assistant chiefs, have received or are expected to receive disciplinary notices tied to an internal affairs probe into crime data practices.

Assistant Chief LaShay Makal and Second District Commander Tatjana Savoy have been placed on administrative leave.

Both have been linked to the crime statistics investigation, where officials are alleged to have lied or manipulated the city’s crime statistics.

Former Third District Commander Michael Pulliam is also under review.

He was placed on leave in 2025 after allegations that crime classifications in his district were altered. Pulliam has denied wrongdoing but remains subject to possible discipline.

Assistant Chief Andre Wright is facing a separate investigation after allegedly inappropriate text messages were found on his phone. He had already been placed on administrative leave.

The internal probe is focused on whether department supervisors downgraded serious crimes to less severe categories, potentially making crime rates appear lower than they were.

A growing number of high-profile White House Correspondents’ Dinner attendees are now exposing that they experienced embarrassingly relaxed security at the event.

Guests, including Kari Lake, have noted that basic identification, ticket inspection, and screening measures were skipped or minimized at an event attended by the President, his top officials, and hundreds of media figures.

In a post shortly after the shooting, Lake wrote:

I can’t believe how lax the security was at the White House correspondents dinner tonight. Upon entering nobody asked to visibly INSPECT my ticket nor asked for my photo identification. All one had to do was flash what appeared to be a ticket and they were fine with that.

When you consider you are entering a roomful of fake news media —90% of whom hate the President you would think they would have better security. This is what happened when what sounded like gunfire erupted.

On the way out, I called-out a bunch of the disgusting Media who have been pushing hatred toward President Trump for years. They are a big part of the discord in this country.

Lake included video from inside the ballroom showing guests ducking for cover as security rushed in, along with photos from the chaotic scene.

Her account matches what other attendees reported: minimal checks, no visible ID verification, and a “flash your ticket and walk” system.

Conservative influencer and attendee Mads Campbell went even further in a now-viral thread that has been viewed over 1 million times.

Campbell wrote that she and her best friend left early because “something felt off” from the moment they arrived.

President Trump on Saturday evening released footage of the gunman who stormed the lobby of the Washington Hilton and opened fire at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

President Trump, First Lady Melania, Vice President Vance and others were rushed out of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner amid a ‘security incident.’

The President and his entire Cabinet were safely evacuated after shots were fired in the lobby of the Washington Hilton at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Trump held a press conference in the White House press briefing room after the shooter, identified as Cole Allen, 31, of Torrence, California.

The president said a Secret Service Agent was shot during his encounter with Cole Allen.

During the press conference, President Trump released footage of Cole Allen in the lobby of the Washington Hilton.

Trump released a statement after the shooting on Truth Social:

Quite an evening in D.C. Secret Service and Law Enforcement did a fantastic job. They acted quickly and bravely. The shooter has been apprehended, and I have recommended that we “LET THE SHOW GO ON” but, will entirely be guided by Law Enforcement. They will make a decision shortly.

Regardless of that decision, the evening will be much different than planned, and we’ll just, plain, have to do it again. President DONALD J. TRUMP

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro: WHCD Shooter Facing ‘Many’ Felony Charges and ‘More Are Coming,’ Will Be Arraigned Monday 

U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro has announced that the suspected White House Correspondents’ Dinner gunman, 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen of Torrance, California, will appear in federal court Monday for arraignment, and he is already facing serious felony charges with “many” more expected.

Pirro confirmed the suspect has been charged with at least two counts so far, using a firearm during a crime of violence and assault on a federal officer using a dangerous weapon.

“This individual was intent on doing as much harm and as much damage as he could,” Pirro said.

Pirro made it clear that prosecutors are not done, stating that additional charges are coming as the investigation continues.

“I, for the first time, was in a situation where there were shots fired, shots heard, and a whole room went silent,” Pirro said. “When I lifted my head and when I looked up, every law enforcement officer was out there as we all had our heads down. All of them tonight acted so quickly that they prevented what could have been a horrific event where we were all sitting there in one room.”

DC Police: WHCD Shooter Was Registered Hotel Guest Armed with Shotgun, Handgun, and Multiple Knives 

The DC Metropolitan Police announced during a press conference on Saturday night that the armed gunman who opened fire inside the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was a registered guest at the Washington Hilton hotel, the venue hosting the high-profile black-tie event attended by President Donald Trump.

Speaking after the event, interim DC Police Chief Jeffery Carroll confirmed the suspect, 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen of Torrance, California, had checked into the hotel as a guest before the chaos erupted.

Allen was armed with a shotgun, a handgun, and multiple knives when he allegedly assembled a long weapon in an unsecured back area and opened fire near the magnetometers at the security checkpoint.

“He was armed with a shotgun, a handgun, and multiple knives,” Carroll said.

Carroll explained that the suspect and law enforcement officers “exchanged gunfire,” and he ran through the security checkpoint.

The suspect was stopped and taken into custody alive.

Cole Allen, 31-year-old California teacher, ID’d as White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooter

The gunman who opened fire at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night has been identified as Cole Allen of Torrance, Calif. — with President Trump calling him a likely “lone wolf whack job” who “looked pretty evil.”

The 31-year-old, identified by federal law enforcement sources, was arrested after allegedly entering the Washington Hilton hotel and charging toward the ballroom where Trump and roughly 2,500 guests had assembled.

The gunfire broke out near the event’s indoor security screening area just after 8:30 p.m. — as salad was being served. The Secret Service rushed Trump out of the room as members of his cabinet ducked under tables before they too were evacuated.

A LinkedIn profile matching his name and photo described him as a teacher at C2 Education, a tutoring and test prep company. C2 awarded him the “teacher of the month” in December 2024, according to social media posts.

Allen graduated from the California Institute of Technology in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, according to the LinkedIn profile.

A spokeswoman for Caltech told the New York Times that a person named Cole Allen had earned an undergraduate degree in 2017, but the school did not have any further information immediately available.

Allen’s neighbor, who gave the name Jeff Smith, told The Post that “maybe he could be on the spectrum.”

Trump Confirms a Secret Service Agent Was Shot at White House Correspondents’ Dinner

President Donald Trump held an urgent press conference from the White House on Saturday evening, just hours after a gunman opened fire inside the Washington Hilton during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

The president confirmed that a Secret Service agent had been shot, but was saved by his bulletproof vest.

“I just spoke to the officer. He’s in great shape!” Trump told reporters.

Trump said that the vest “did the job” and protected the agent from what could have been a fatal incident.

Trump repeatedly praised the bravery of the Secret Service team, saying they quickly neutralized the threat and prevented a much worse tragedy.

Following the shooting, the event was cut short, and Trump was evacuated along with Melania Trump before being rushed back to the White House.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the suspected shooter has been identified as 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen of California, who is alive and in custody.

Allen worked as a teacher and was named “Teacher of the Month” in December 2024 at C2 Education in Torrance, according to an Instagram post.
