Congressional staffer, 35, dies after CATCHING FIRE at her Texas home… as her eerie last words are revealed

Police are probing the death of a congressional staffer who was found on fire at her home in Texas.

Regina Santos-Aviles, 35, was discovered by her mother, who called emergency crews to the Uvalde residence on the evening of September 13.

She was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center but died from her injuries the next morning, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Santos-Aviles, remembered by friends and family as a ‘devoted mother’ to her eight-year-old son, had served as the regional district director for Republican US Representative Tony Gonzales since 2021.

Uvalde Police Chief Homer Delgado said there was no indication of foul play, but the Texas Rangers are helping complete their investigation.

Santos-Aviles’s mother, Nora Ann Gonzales, described the incident as a tragic accident and that her daughter’s final words were: ‘I don’t want to die.’

‘When we arrived, we learned of a fire behind the residence that had been put out with a fire extinguisher,’ the fire department chief Mario Rangel told the San Antonio Express-News.

In a statement, Congressman Tony Gonzales said: ‘We are all heart-stricken by the recent news.

‘Regina devoted her profession toward making a difference in her community.

‘She will always be remembered for her passion towards Uvalde and helping the community become a better place.’

Police said they were called to Santos-Aviles’s home in Uvalde at around 9.30pm, according to a call sheet obtained by KSAT.

The Uvalde Volunteer Fire Department also received a call at 9.39pm for an ‘individual who was on fire.’

The call was canceled but firefighters still attended to the home since it was close to the station.

By the time they arrived, the fire had been put out.

Fire department chief Mario Rangel said: ‘At the same time, EMS personnel were attending to a female who had suffered burns.

‘She was transported by EMS and, at some point, flown to a San Antonio hospital.’

Leftists Celebrate as Nottoway Plantation, the Largest Remaining Antebellum Mansion in the South, Burned to the Ground

An investigation is underway after the Historic Nottoway Plantation in Louisiana, the largest antebellum mansion in the U.S., burned to the ground on Thursday.

Firefighters battled the blaze for over 18 hours.

Mystery as Gone With The Wind-style plantation that’s one of south’s oldest antebellum homes is destroyed by huge blaze

One of the oldest Antebellum-era plantations in the country was destroyed after a massive fire ripped through the historic mansion and completely engulfed it in flames.

The massive inferno erupted at Louisiana‘s historic Nottoway Plantation House shortly after 2pm Thursday.

A giant orange wall of fire consumed the 166-year-old home, which was located along the Mississippi River between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

The blaze, which started in the south wing of the building, devoured the upper portion of the rotunda and sent a plume of thick smoke into the sky.

Officials claim the inferno quickly spread to the main house and left behind a trail of destruction. Footage from the property shows charred and collapsed remnants of the once beautiful house.

The plantation’s northern wing and back wall were completely destroyed, with only the chimneys remaining on each side. The façade and upper balcony had also collapsed.

Although authorities note it is too soon to determine the full extent of the damage, the mansion’s owner, Louisiana attorney Dan Dyess, said in a written statement that the fire had led to a ‘total loss’ after all the time and money he invested in the building.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Iberville Parish government officials said. No injuries were reported.

Eccentric millionaire killed in LA fire was ‘imposter’ posing as member of Rothschild dynasty

The eccentric millionaire killed in a Los Angeles house fire last week was likely an “imposter” posing as a member of the ultra-wealthy Rothschild banking family, according to a new report.

The mystery man who went by William de Rothschild, 87 —  found dead in his charred Hollywood Hills abode on Nov. 27 — had assumed the prestigious identity despite having no family ties to the Jewish dynasty, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

“My brother is not a Rothschild, as far as I know,” Richard Kauffman, 78, of Oregon, told the paper. “It’s odd, because I thought he had died years ago.”

Born in Colorado as William Alfred Kauffman, he inexplicably changed his name to William de Rothschild in 1985 and fooled friends and neighbors for years — complete with a flashy collection of Ferraris and Jaguars, the paper reported.

‘CIA is behind spate of explosions in Russia’: US Army Special Ops veteran claims intelligence agency and NATO ally are conducting sabotage missions

The CIA is combining with the spy service of a NATO ally in Europe to conduct covert sabotage operations inside Russia, according to new claims.

The clandestine campaign is behind many unexplained explosions and fires that have hit strategic or prominent facilities in recent months, says US expert Jack Murphy, an eight-year Army Special Operations veteran.

Separately other European intelligence services have allegedly been ‘running operatives into Russia to create chaos without CIA help’, as has Ukraine.

His claims follow as a new fire struck a shopping mall in Krasnodar region, in southern Russia, the latest in dozens of such incidents. It comes as Putin issued another chilling warning to the West on Christmas day.

In Ukraine today, air raid sirens have been going off around the country as some decide to move their Christmas day to avoid celebrating on the same day as Russia.

Oil and gas facilities, railways, fuel depots, power plants and shopping malls have been hit across Russia by mysterious explosions, with rumours of sabotage.

‘The campaign involves long standing sleeper cells that the allied spy service has activated to hinder Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine by waging a secret war behind Russian lines,’ said Murphy in a post.

‘The campaign is responsible for many of the unexplained explosions and other mishaps that have befallen the Russian military industrial complex since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February.’

He cited anonymous US sources including three former intelligence and two military officials, and a sixth source ‘who has been briefed on the campaign’.

The CIA has denied the allegations.

NYPD Warehouse for DNA, Troves of Criminal Evidence Destroyed in Brooklyn Inferno

An untold amount of “biological evidence” linked to New York City crimes dating back decades was destroyed or damaged in a raging inferno that devoured an NYPD warehouse off the Brooklyn waterfront Tuesday, authorities say.

The fire, which broke out around 10:40 a.m. at the Erie Basin Auto Pound in Red Hook, a sprawling warehouse on Columbia Street, left a half-dozen first responders and two civilians hurt — and sent up towering black smoke plumes so thick some confused New Yorkers thought the blaze had started in Manhattan.

It escalated to three alarms within about 30 minutes, and roughly 150 fire department members were at the scene through early afternoon. Twenty people, a mix of NYPD staffers and contractors, were said to be inside the warehouse when the inferno started.

It wasn’t immediately clear what sparked the blaze, and the investigation could take some time, though investigators said they know it started on a shelf that stored evidence. Firefighters were forced to withdraw from the interior early because of the intense flames and combustible material, as well as the threat of collapse. One section of the warehouse, which may have had hundreds of e-bikes in it, did fall, officials said.

A total of eight people — three firefighters, three EMS members and two civilians — were hurt in the fire, but all are expected to be OK, FDNY Chief of Department John Hodgens said.

SECOND Russian shopping mall is mysteriously destroyed by fire, raising suspicions of sabotage attacks

A new inferno at a Russian shopping mall today has raised suspicions of coordinated sabotage attacks.

StroyPark Mall in Balashikha, to the east of Moscow, was filmed in flames early Monday as thick black smoke streamed into the sky.

It comes after another fire at the Mega shopping centre in Khimki, also near Moscow and 30 miles from Balashikha, caused explosions which killed one person.

Monday’s fire was reported to cover more than 230,000 sq ft.

One Telegram channel asked: ‘Fires at Russian shopping centres seem to be breaking out really often these days. Are these sabotage…or?’

The Russian emergencies ministry has officially blamed Monday’s blaze on building materials catching fire inside a construction supplies store.

Ministers did not say how the materials had caught light.

The first last week was also focused around a construction store, with canisters of gas thought to be behind the blasts.

Building material caught fire for unexplained reasons, according to the Russian emergencies’ ministry.

Other recent fires have hit the Mikoyanovsky meat factory, in Moscow, and the Pushkin national art gallery in the centre of the Russian capital.

Everything we know about Biden’s rental cars bursting into flames at Nantucket

The fire began just after 5am on 29 November in a rental car overflow car park at Nantucket airport.

By the time emergency responders arrived, the blaze had engulfed five SUVs and come within 40 feet of airport fuel tanks.

The Nantucket Current was first to report that the five Hertz-owned late model SUVs had been returned to the airport by Secret Service members less than 24 hours earlier.

The security detail had been protecting President Joe Biden during his annual Thanksgiving weekend holiday.

News of the fire spread fast — fuelling conspiracy theories about might have been the cause.

Nantucket Fire Department chief Michael Cranson, who was inundated with media inquiries, told the Current that the fire was not suspicious.

Investigators are focusing on a Ford Expedition vehicle that had been subject to a safety recall.

Hertz, who rented the vehicles to the Secret Service, told The Independent in a statement they were assisting authorities with the investigation.

No one was injured in the fire.
