Woke reporter denies there are riots and looting in LA while chaos unfolds behind him

A local TV reporter in Los Angeles questioned whether the city’s violent unrest qualified as rioting – even as a fire burned behind him live on the air.

ABC7 reporter Tim Caputo insisted that the ‘vast majority’ of protestors involved in the demonstrations were ‘people taking videos [and] people waving flags’ during his one-the-ground report.

He made the remarks as black smoke billowed into the air behind him and a loud explosion could be heard in the distance.

During the segment, ABC7 anchor Jory Rand asked whether those responsible for torching five vehicles were ‘a group that splintered off,’ ‘mak[ing] it look like it’s a lot worse than the situation actually playing out on the ground.’

‘That’s the quintessential question when you have rallies, demonstrations, riots, if you will,’ Caputo replied.

‘I wouldn’t go as far to call it that. I know president Trump had tweeted about riots and looting – I don’t know that I would characterize it that way.’

As the broadcast showed aerial images of cars on fire, Caputo directed his cameraman away from rising smoke.

‘From what we’ve seen… the vast majority are people taking videos, people waving flags, people walking around, people wanting to be part of the cause, wanting to have their voices heard, and wanting to show the power of numbers and the power of force,’ the reporter said.

Mexico Provides Legal Aid to Illegal Immigrants Arrested by ICE in Los Angeles

Mexico’s president is providing legal aid to the Mexican illegal migrants in Los Angeles who were recently arrested by ICE workplace operations.

The aid for detained illegal Mexican migrants is being provided via Mexico’s little-known network of consulates in many American cities. So far, there are no reports that Mexico is aiding any Mexicans arrested for rioting.

“Foreign Minister Juan Ramon de la Fuente said at least 42 Mexicans were being held after the controversial Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids in Los Angeles,” according to the German media outlet Deutsche Welle. “He added that the vast majority of Mexicans detained were working when they were arrested.”

The pro-migration New York Times admitted:

Mexico’s foreign minister, Juan Ramón de la Fuente, said his country’s consular network in the United States had been providing legal advice to the 37 men and five Mexican nationals who have been detained in California. Four have already been deported to Mexico, he said, either because they had a removal order or because they had volunteered to return.

President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico spoke out on Monday in defense of 42 Mexican nationals who have been arrested in Los Angeles. “We cannot intervene in the politics of the United States,” she said, making a “respectful but firm call” to U.S. authorities to respect the rule of law and the human rights of detainees. She also urged the Mexican community to act peacefully. “Burning patrol cars seems more an act of provocation than of resistance,” she said.

Mexico’s government provides a list of phone numbers for the 49 consulates in the U.S. For example, Mexicans in Washington state are invited to use consulates in Seattle or nearby Portland, Oregon. The consulates allow the government to keep Mexican migrants emotionally and economically tied to their home country.

‘Furious’ Pelosi Drops F-Bomb in Response to Trump Deploying National Guard to Los Angeles: Report

Speaker Emerita Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is ‘furious’ over President Donald Trump deploying National Guard troops to Los Angeles in response to out of control illegal immigration riots.

Pelosi is still sore over the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot when she was Speaker and failed to protect the Capitol with sufficient police and D.C. National Guard troops, even though President Trump had offered 10,000 troops.

Speaking to Matt Berg with lefty news site Crooked Media, the 85-year-old Catholic grandmother of nine Pelosi, let the F-bomb fly (excerpt):

Nancy Pelosi is furious about Donald Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard to the Los Angeles protests and not during the Capitol riots, the California lawmaker exclusively told What A Day.

Demonstrations roiled part of downtown Los Angeles and a working-class suburb over the weekend, sparked by a trio of ICE raids on workplaces. Now, President Donald Trump is saying that Los Angeles would’ve been “completely obliterated” had he not sent in the National Guard. (That’s a lie: Los Angeles is massive, and the protests didn’t affect most residents.)

What’s also bothering Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), however, is the fact that Trump didn’t send the National Guard to the Capitol during the January 6 riots: “It’s overwhelming because [the insurrectionists] want to put a bullet in my F-word head and they were going to hang the vice president of the United States — and this guy is not sending in the National Guard, and then lying about it to the public,” she told What A Day. “I’m very concerned about the hypocrisy.”

…Trump’s actions have “inflamed the conditions on the ground,” Pelosi added. “I don’t think there’s any mystery to the fact that the president is not acting in the constitutional way, in so many other respects, not just this.”

Newsom Lashes Out, Dares Trump To Arrest Him

California Governor Gavin Newsom erupted into a lengthy tirade and dared President Donald Trump and White House border czar Tom Homan to arrest him after rioting escalated in Los Angeles for the third straight day.

As rioters pelted large rocks at police officers from an overpass, constructed makeshift barricades and burned vehicles, Newsom continued to blame President Trump for the unrest. The president announced on Saturday that he would be deputizing 2,000 California National Guard troops in order to quell the unrest following Newsom’s inaction, a move the governor has decided.

“Donald Trump has created the conditions you see on your TV tonight. He’s exacerbated the conditions. He’s, you know, lit the proverbial match. He’s putting fuel on this fire ever since he announced he was taking over the National Guard in an illegal act, in an amoral act, an unconstitutional act, and we’re going to test that theory with a lawsuit tomorrow,” the governor ranted.

Newsom then detailed his plans to sue the Trump Administration over the deputization of the National Guard tomorrow morning. “Well, under his executive order, and specifically notes and under what the DoD did is they had to coordinate with the governor of the state. They never coordinated with the governor of the state,” he said.

The governor then addressed White House border czar Tom Homan who, along with President Trump, stated that any state or local officials who attempt to impede federal immigration operations will face legal consequences.

“The fear, the horror, the hell is this guy? Come after me, arrest me, let’s just get it over with, tough guy. You know, I don’t give a damn,” Newsom continued to rant. “But I care about my community, I care about this community. The hell are they doing? These guys need to grow up, they need to stop.”

Media Calls Riots ‘Peaceful’ As Los Angeles Burns

The legacy media is repeating its 2020 farce of calling the violent rioting in Los Angeles “peaceful,” even as the city burns.

Despite hundreds of arrests and numerous reports of police officers being attacked with molotov cocktails, fireworks and other objects, along with widespread burning, looting and destruction of property, the mainstream press is still ludicrously insisting the chaos represents largely well-behaved ‘immigration protests’.

This echoes their treatment of the 2020 George Floyd riots, which were infamously described as ‘fiery but mostly peaceful’ by CNN while other outlets followed a similar narrative.

“This has been very peaceful,” one CNN reporter insisted despite footage emerging of violent demonstrators running up and attacking ICE vehicles with projectiles.

Senator Murphy was on with Morning Joe this AM when he called for street protests in every US city.

Senator Chris Murphy: my first message is to keep it peaceful. I mean, obviously, this is a moment where we have to be on the streets all over the country to protest what’s happening to our immigrant community, but more broadly, to protest what’s happening to our democracy. This is the most corrupt administration in the history of the country, and we are going to rise to this moment by being out there on the streets. But ultimately, I think the country sees what Donald Trump is trying to do here. He’s looking for a fight. There’s nothing in what he is doing that is about about peace or about restoring order. He’s taking a protest that is relatively isolated. People in Los Angeles over the weekend would tell you that 99% of them went about their day, and it was pretty normal because this is not an invasion that has taken over the entire city. He’s trying to turn a protest that is pretty small into something that involves an even bigger confrontation so that he might actually be able to invoke the Insurrection Act. That would be a defining story of the week if he were to do it.

Advocacy group at heart of anti-ICE protests in LA has long raised money through ActBlue

An advocacy group at the center of the organizing efforts of the anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles has long raised money through ActBlue, the controversial Democratic Party-oriented non-profit entity that is under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice and Congress.

According to the social media pages of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA), the group was formed in 1986 to “advance the human and civil rights of immigrants and refugees.” Its mission is to “educate, organize, and advocate.” The landing page of CHIRLA’s website solicits donations through another entity, called Funraise.

CHIRLA is nonetheless listed in ActBlue’s official directory, and ActBlue facilitates donations to CHIRLA. The far-left, pro-immigrant charity’s latest IRS 990 filing for 2023 shows that CHIRLA had revenue of close to $45 million, and expenses of just over $20 million. Their tax filing does not disclose donors’ names, nor any specific amount that ActBlue channeled to CHIRLA.

Three days of protests

The charity’s IRS filings self-described their mission as to “promote harmonious multi-ethnic human relations.” Dozens have been arrested after violent clashes with ICE agents attempting to locate illegal immigrants. L.A.ist, a local magazine, published an Associated Press newsphoto of a masked man using a Mexican flag to assault police officers.

“If you see ICE in LA, don’t stay silent. Report it to the LA Rapid Response Network,” read a post from CHIRLA on Sunday.

The three days of demonstrations saw more than 6,000 people take over the streets of downtown Los Angeles, and on Sunday the NBC-owned KNBC reported that at least 2,000 people are estimated to have taken over the 101 Freeway northbound, shutting it down and forcing traffic to come to a standstill.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that “violent mobs have attacked ICE Officers and Federal Law Enforcement Agents carrying out basic deportation operations in Los Angeles, California.”

On Sunday it was revealed elements of the 79th Infantry Brigade Combat Team from the California National Guard was deployed to downtown Los Angeles.

The National Guard troops arrived after rioters launched explosives at a federal detention facility in downtown LA.

Maxine Waters lashed out at the National Guard troops and asked them if they are going to “shoot some kids.”

“Why do you have guns? What are you going to do? Shoot some kids?” Maxine Waters said to the National Guard troops.

REPORT: Evidence Suggests LA “Riots” Over ICE Raids Could Be Government‑Funded

What began as a so-called “spontaneous protest” against ICE enforcement operations in Los Angeles has now been exposed as something far more insidious: a well-funded, coordinated riot, with ties to radical left-wing organizations, government-backed NGOs, and even a billionaire known for pushing Chinese Communist propaganda.

According to a damning exposé by investigative account @DataRepublican, several nonprofit organizations and shadowy political fronts played a pivotal role in igniting the chaos that saw federal officers attacked, flags burned, and city streets blocked.

But what’s more alarming: tens of millions of dollars in taxpayer money may have indirectly fueled the unrest.
