New Twists In Cybertruck Explosion in Las Vegas, Elon Musk Gives Updates

Videos of a Tesla Cybertruck exploding outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas in an apparent explosion made headlines across social media this New Year’s Day.

The cause of the explosion was not immediately clear, but speculation ran rampant, fueled by heightened concerns following a terrorist attack in New Orleans earlier in the day. Though some speculated that it was merely a freak explosion, videos shared to social media show firework-style mortars exploding in and around the vehicle following some sort of detonation, and according to reports, investigators are treating the incident as a possible terror attack.

Many figured as much, noting the connection between Tesla, which is owned by Elon Musk, and the Trump Hotel, owned by Donald Trump. 

According to officials, the Cybertruck pulled into the valet area of the hotel before it exploded. The driver was killed in the blast. Thankfully, no other fatalities have been reported, although several bystanders sustained minor injuries.

Another question is whether the Las Vegas incident and the New Orleans incident are connected. According to the Associated Press, the Cybertruck involved in the Las Vegas incident was rented through Turo, the same car-sharing platform used to obtain the vehicle in the New Orleans attack. While there’s currently no evidence linking the two incidents, authorities are not ruling out terrorism, and they have deemed the Las Vegas explosion an intentional act.

Three senior U.S. law enforcement officials have confirmed that the blast was deliberate.

Las Vegas Cybertruck Bomber Identified: Shocking Details Emerge About Colorado Springs Resident and Reportedly a Green Beret

The perpetrator behind the shocking Cybertruck bombing at Trump Tower Las Vegas has been identified as 37-year-old Matthew Livelsberger of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Senior law enforcement sources confirmed to KOAA news outlet that Livelsberger was the driver of the Cybertruck used in the attack.

Authorities believe the blast was triggered by a detonation system controlled by Livelsberger, who died in the attack.

Recall that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the FBI are leading the investigation, which is being treated as a potential act of terrorism.

Preliminary findings suggest that the vehicle’s bed contained a combination of fireworks, gas tanks, and camping fuel.

Livelsberger ties to Colorado Springs have prompted federal agents and local police to do search warrants on multiple addresses linked to him in the area.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is actively investigating a townhouse complex in the Stetson Hills neighborhood where Livelsberger is believed to have resided.

Terror probe launched as Tesla Cybertruck EXPLODES outside Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, killing driver

A Cybertruck that exploded outside the front doors of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday is being investigated as an act of terrorism. 

A car – made by Trump ally Elon Musk‘s company Tesla – was seen in a fiery blaze outside the front revolving doors of the hotel, social media video showed, killing one and injuring seven around 9am, according to Las Vegas police. 

Sheriff Kevin McMahill said police are treating the explosion as an act of terror, alongside the New Orleans event, which saw a driver kill 15 pedestrians. 

‘With the event that occurred [in New Orleans], and the victims there, and the additional IEDs, so as you can imagine, with an explosion here on our iconic Las Vegas Boulevard, we are taking all of the precautions that we need to take to keep the community safe.’ 

The FBI is also investigating the Vegas event. Elon Musk also said his company is looking into the matter, writing on X: ‘The whole Tesla senior team is investigating this matter right now.

‘We’ve never seen anything like this,’ the billionaire wrote.  

The official cause of the explosion and fire is currently unknown, but an unidentified official briefed on the incident told ABC News it had a load of fireworks-style mortars inside the vehicle. 

Police are working to determine if the driver, who died, intentionally set off the explosives.

Las Vegas Police Recordings Released From Biden’s Medical Event and Code 3 Transport to Airport

Audio from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department’s protective detail for President Joe Biden on July 17 was released Friday afternoon by Oversight Project, which obtained the recordings through a Freedom of Information Act request. Those recordings confirm RedState’s reporting that Biden was first headed to University Medical Center, a trauma center, after he suddenly canceled a speaking engagement due to illness, then suddenly diverted directly to Harry Reid International Airport.

The three recordings span a time frame of a few hours and are not timestamped, so it’s difficult to get exact time frames from them. Two of the clips, each about four minutes long, are clips from the general channel where LVMPD coordinated additional units (meaning, units that were not involved in the protective detail) used to shut down traffic and secure the routes after the sudden change of plans. The third, the event channel for the officers involved in the protective detail, is about 43 minutes long. We are sharing the audio in full here so readers can listen for themselves.

In both of the four-minute clips, officers are requested to respond Code 3, meaning in an emergency response posture.

Report: Las Vegas Hospital Was Put on Standby for Sudden Biden Medical Issue Last Wednesday, Instead, Air Force One Flew to Delaware So Fast “the Plane Shook”

KSNV-TV reported last Wednesday that a Las Vegas hospital was put on standby to treat Joe Biden for a medical issue. Biden cut short a campaign trip to Nevada after reportedly being diagnosed with COVID and returned to Delaware, without going to the hospital, where he has not been seen since a pool camera caught him Wednesday night being unable to get in a car without help from the Secret Service. A pool reporter reported Air Force One flew back so fast “the plane shook.”

Biden withdrew from the presidential race on Sunday via a post on X Twitter. Biden called into a meeting Kamala Harris was having at his former campaign headquarters, now hers, in Wilmington, Delaware on Monday. It was the first time Biden had been heard since Wednesday, but still not seen by the public.

A Las Vegas hospital was on standby after being alerted about a possible medical issue with President Joe Biden Wednesday afternoon while he was visiting Southern Nevada.

Law enforcement and medical teams gathered outside the University Medical Center trauma room entrance on Wellness Way in case the President of the United States arrived after he canceled an appearance at the Unidos US Convention in Las Vegas due to testing positive for COVID-19. Unidos US President and CEO Janet Murguía made the announcement to attendees who were waiting to hear the president speak.

President Biden did not seek medical treatment at the hospital but instead went to the airport and departed Las Vegas on Air Force One to self-isolate at his home in Delaware.

…”Typically, with traumas, you’ve got surgeons and CTS and X-rays and operating rooms,” (Mason) Van Houweling (CEO of UMC) said. “We knew that this was going to be more of a medical environment. So (having) your typical imaging and your lab procedures and other things that would be more intense on a medical side versus a trauma. So, we adjusted our team based off the information that we received early on.”

Van Houweling said the hospital remained in communication with President Biden’s security team about the evolving incident. Law enforcement and staff did not start to clear the area outside trauma and inside the hospital until after Air Force One departed Las Vegas.

Mysterious monolith appears on hiking trail near Las Vegas – sparking wild speculation about where it came from

A mysterious metal monolith has appeared on a hiking trail near Las Vegas, leaving officials baffled as to how it got there.

The mirrored monolith was found near Gass Peak, about 25 miles from Sin City by Las Vegas Metro Search and Rescue.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officials confirmed the object was found on the popular hiking trail last weekend.

Posting about it on Facebook along with some images, they wrote: ‘We see a lot of weird things when people go hiking like not being prepared for the weather, not bringing enough water… but check this out!’

The post quickly garnered more than 1,000 likes and hundreds of comments. 

Many commenters joked it had landed from outer space. 

One Facebook user mused: ‘Maybe, it’s a portal going to different location.’ 

Another commenter jested: ‘I don’t care what it is… but can someone go up there and pray to it or something… ask it to lower our rent.’

While the LVMPD deemed the monolith a ‘mystery,’ one commenter wrote in response: ‘It’s not “mysterious.” Someone built, put in a truck, drove it out there, and set it up. It’s not a big deal.’

The peculiar-looking metal slab is one of many which have been found across the world in recent years.

In late 2020, dozens of similar looking monoliths began popping up across the US as well as the UK, Canada, Romania and further afield, often before eerily disappearing.

The silver structures in the UK were found in Glastonbury, Cornwall and the Isle of Wight.

LVMPD plans ‘tunnel sweeps’ of homeless people as part of Super Bowl security

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department tells FOX5 it will begin clearing homeless people from drainage tunnels next week for the Super Bowl.

But one homeless advocacy group says tunnels have already been thinned out.

“Since F1, the talk about the A’s coming here, the stadium, all the presence downtown, there’s definitely been more of a presence in trying to clear out the tunnels around the Strip, and to keep it cleared out, more so than in the past,” said Shine A Light Outreach Director Robert Banghart.

In fact, Banghart tells FOX5 there may already be 70% fewer people in tunnels near the Strip. He says around 30-40 people were living in a tunnel near the Rio but says right now, there may be only three or four people there.

“On the route I usually do, it seems in the underground tunnels around the Strip it’s down to bare minimum,” he said.

Shine A Light goes into drainage tunnels to provide emotional support, supplies and even an immediate way out of tunnel life if people choose. The group will get people into detox right away and work to place them into sober living and eventually into independent living.

“We’ll engage them in our IPATH program, which will be 18 months if they so choose. And every step of the way, we’re going to walk them through all the different levels of care,” said Banghart.

UNLV gunman ID’d as Anthony Polito, 67, professor who failed to get job at school

The madman who slaughtered three people in a mass shooting at the University of Nevada Las Vegas on Wednesday was a professor who failed to secure a job at the school and claimed to have solved the mystery of the Zodiac Killer and missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.

Anthony Polito, 67, had unsuccessfully applied for a professorship at UNLV before he unleashed his deadly rampage on the campus just before noon, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

Polito was armed with a handgun during his massacre and was killed following a shootout with two police detectives, the outlet reported.

The shooting began around 11:45 a.m. on the fourth floor of Beam Hall, UNLV’s business school, near the student union building.

Police found three people dead when they arrived.

A fourth person was taken to an area hospital, where they were listed in critical but stable condition.

Four others were hospitalized after suffering panic attacks and two officers were treated for minor injuries suffered while clearing buildings, LVMPD police said.

Polito’s LinkedIn account states he was a “semi-retired university professor” based in Las Vegas and attended undergraduate at Radford University in Virginia, where he graduated with a double major in mathematics and statistics before he earned his master’s degree at Duke University and completed his doctorate of philosophy at the University of Georgia.

He served as an associate professor for 15½ years at East Carolina University from August 2001 to January 2017.

During that time, he also ran a personal website about his life, in which he posted a 15-page theory claiming he decoded the messages left by the Zodiac Killer, who operated in Northern California in the late 1960s.

“Just so you won’t initially write off my solution as that of a total crackpot, let me first say that I have been a member of MENSA for 35 years, I hold a double undergraduate degree in Mathematics & Statistics (two skills closely associated with successful cryptographers) … and I hold a masters degree and a doctoral degree from top-tier universities as well,” Polito wrote in the introduction.

“So I am not a dumb guy!”

He further claimed to have solved the fate of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 and figured out the true meaning of Leonardo DiCaprio’s 2010 film “Inception.”

The shooting occurred around 5:30 p.m. near a freeway overpass in the northeastern part of the city, according to Las Vegas police.

A police commander initially said two were killed, but Las Vegas Metro Police Department spokesperson Jason Johansson later said at a briefing that one man in his 50s was pronounced dead and another was in critical condition, while three others were in stable condition.

“Right now we are trying to figure out what exactly happened during the shooting, the information we have is kind of conflicting,” Johansson said.
