New Details Suggest the California ‘FireAid’ Fundraiser Scandal is Even Worse Than People Thought

After the wildfires of California earlier this year, leaders in the state joined with a number of Hollywood celebrities and famous musicians and did a fundraiser event called ‘FireAid’ that managed to raise $100 million which they claimed would go directly to the victims.

Several weeks ago, an independent journalist did a deep dive into the funds and found that none of the victims had seen a dime of the money. Based on her research, she found that the money had gone to a number of non-profit organizations.

Now, the Washington Free Beacon has done an even deeper dive into the issue and it looks even worse. Some of the non-profits that received this money have absolutely nothing to do with the issue of fire recovery or even base their assistance on race.

From the Free Beacon:

FireAid announced in February that it would distribute the money it raised “equitably,” a promise it appears to have kept. Greenline Housing Foundation, for instance, received funds from a $4.8 million pool dedicated to health and housing. It noted on its website that no whites need apply.

“In order to qualify for a grant through Greenline Housing Foundation, applicants must be a Black or Hispanic person,” the group stated…

The same is true for the Black Freedom Fund, a Black Lives Matter-era nonprofit dedicated to fighting “systemic racism” and promoting “Black power-building.” The organization—which received money from a $7.6 million pool dedicated to “disaster relief”—stated in a 2023 grant proposal document that it would only assist groups “led and controlled by Black people” and “primarily serving Black people.”

My Tribe Rise, which also received cash from that pool, has a similar mission. Founded in 2019, the organization states that its mission is “to take the stigma out of gangs and to educate people about the positive changes that are possible when people come together to end violence and meet the needs of Black and Brown communities.”

Other groups that have received money through FireAid offer assistance to illegal aliens within California.

George Washington University Faces Pressure To Become ‘Sanctuary Campus’

According to Campus Reform, “More than 45 student groups at George Washington University (GWU) signed a petition calling on the school administration to declare the school a ‘sanctuary campus’ for illegal immigrants.”

Like much of academia, GWU is a hotbed of open borders liberalism.

In this specific case, the petition was launched by The GW Socialist Action Initiative.

The group, according to Washington Free Beacon, issued demands for the university, “among the demands were banning federal immigration enforcement officials from entering campus and refusing to cooperate with government surveillance or deportation efforts.”

The Socialist radicals also issued a threat that “any deal that GW could reach with the Trump Administration will harm student life and wellbeing.”

These demands were not without precedent at this university. Previously, GWU’s chapter of Students For Justice In Palestine made a similar demand on May 3rd, “calling on the administration to bar Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and reject compliance with federal deportation orders.”

Students For Justice In Palestine also called President Trump’s policies a “terror campaign” and said the university was taking “blood money” by agreeing to comply with federal immigration law.

In yet another example of irrational intersectionality Students for Justice In Palestine circulated a petition saying the University’s silence in the face of federal intimidation is “violence against its noncitizen community members.”

Gavin Newsom declares war on the Marines

Term limited California Governor Gavin Newsom is running for the Democrat Party nomination for President in 2028. He’s not certain against whom he’ll be running, so he’s running against America. He’s been governing against California for years, so why not extend that kind of governance to the whole country?

California Governor Gavin Newsom attacked the U.S. Marines and National Guard on Saturday as “bringing war to the American people” in trashing their recent mission to restore order to the streets of Los Angeles.

His purpose: to attack President Donald Trump, who is campaigning for the Nobel Peace Prize by trying to resolve conflicts around the world.

In his first seven months in office, Trump has ended at least six wars and for the first time it appears possible he’ll end the war between Ukraine and Russia, a conflict that has cost Russia untold billions and a million of its young men wounded, captured or killed. That’s quite the campaign. Even should that effort fail, it’s impossible to identify a more deserving recipient of the Peace Prize in this or the last century.

Obama Judge Shields Sanctuary Cities From Donald Trump’s Immigration Crackdown Efforts

A federal judge ruled on Friday that the Trump administration cannot cut funding to 34 cities and counties in response to sanctuary policies that limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement.

U.S. District Judge William Orrick, who previously issued an order protecting more than a dozen other jurisdictions, extended a preliminary injunction blocking the administration from pulling federal money or attaching immigration-related conditions to its use.

Alleged MS-13 gangbanger Kilmar Abrego Garcia home in Maryland after release from jail — but faces quick deportation to Uganda

Alleged MS-13 gangbanger and accused human smuggler Kilmar Abrego Garcia was released from a Tennessee jail Friday and returned to his family in Maryland — but could be deported to Uganda by the end of the weekend, with ICE demanding he check in Monday. 

Abrego Garcia, 30, had been held at Putnam County Jail in Cookeville since June, after the Trump administration arranged his return from El Salvador to face human smuggling charges. 

The illegal migrant is en route to the Old Line State with a private security escort — returning for the first time since he was mistakenly booted from the country in March — but has just 48 hours to reach his brother’s house, where he will remain under strict home detention conditions, US Magistrate Judge Barbara Holmes ruled. 

“While his release brings some relief, we all know that he is far from safe,” his attorney Simon Sandoval-Mohensberg said, according to NBC News. 

“ICE detention or deportation to an unknown third country still threatens to tear his family apart. A measure of justice has been done, but the government must stop pursuing actions that would once again separate his family.”

14 Million Illegals in 2023: The Cost to Our Nation

Illegal immigration in the United States surged to a record 14 million in 2023, according to a Pew Research Center report. That figure marked a sharp increase from 11.8 million in 2022 and broke the previous high of 12.2 million set in 2007. Numbers rose further in 2024 under Biden’s policies, then began to decline in 2025 under Trump, though the total remains above 14 million.

California, Texas, Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Illinois had the largest concentrations of illegal immigrants, with Texas rapidly catching up to California. Pew estimated that 9.7 million were part of the U.S. workforce in 2023, about 5.6% of all workers, with Nevada, Florida, New Jersey, and Texas recording the highest shares.

The economic impact of illegal immigration is staggering. According to a 2023 study by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), the gross annual cost of illegal immigration, the total before factoring in taxes paid by illegal aliens, has risen to $182 billion.

Taxes paid by illegal immigrants cover only about 17.2 percent of these costs, leaving American taxpayers with a net burden of $150.7 billion per year. That amounts to $8,776 annually for each illegal immigrant or U.S.-born child of illegal immigrants. On a per-taxpayer basis, illegal immigration costs $1,156 a year, or $957 after accounting for taxes paid by illegal aliens.

These costs have grown sharply. The 2022 totals represented a 30 percent increase over just five years. A previous FAIR study in 2017 estimated the net annual cost at $116 billion, underscoring how quickly the burden has escalated.

The local impact of illegal immigration is especially visible in law enforcement statistics. In Los Angeles County, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide are for illegal aliens, and as many as two-thirds of all fugitive warrants in the county involve illegal aliens.

After video of a man being detained by ICE Wednesday quickly circulated, one reporter suggested that it would never be revealed who he is or where he had been taken, only for all those details to emerge just minutes later, and completely humiliate the ‘journalist’.

The footage shows the guy trying to get away from ICE in DC, but being detained and then crying and whining like a baby.

Miami Herald ‘investigative journalist’ Julie Brown published a post whinging that “his crying…hits me in the gut.”

“We will probably never be told who he is, why he was stopped or if he was here illegally,” she added.

She soon got an answer as an NBC reporter revealed that ICE confirmed the guy’s name, that he was illegally here from Mexico and had been previously arrested and charged with sexual battery against a 13 year-old-child.

Ms Brown instantly deleted her previous post.

Journalist defends an illegal immigrant accused of child sexual assault

David Pérez-Teofani, an undocumented Mexican immigrant, was arrested on August 20, 2025, near the National Mall in Washington, D.C., after attempting to flee from federal agents. The arrest was captured in a viral video and took place shortly after President Trump declared a public emergency due to rising crime in the capital, which resulted in a massive deployment of federal agents and the National Guard throughout the city.

Pérez-Teofani had previously been charged in January 2024 in Fairfax County, Virginia, with aggravated sexual abuse of a 13-year-old girl, among other related charges. However, the charges were dismissed when the victim and her mother stopped cooperating with authorities. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Pérez-Teofani had entered the United States illegally on three occasions and defied a final deportation order, despite having voluntarily returned to Mexico twice before.

The case has drawn criticism toward local prosecutors for their handling of serious accusations involving illegal immigrants. The Fairfax County prosecutor’s office emphasized the difficulty of prosecuting such cases without the cooperation of the victim, noting that the charges could be reinstated if the victim decides to proceed in the future.

Marco Rubio Slams the Brakes on Employment Visas for Foreign Truck Drivers After Fatal Crash Involving Illegal Alien

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has issued an immediate freeze on all employment visas for commercial truck drivers, declaring that the growing number of foreign drivers on American roads is “endangering American lives and undercutting the livelihoods of American truckers.”

The directive follows a shocking August 12 crash on the Florida Turnpike.

Harjinder Singh, a 28-year-old Indian national who reportedly entered the U.S. illegally in 2018, performed an unauthorized U-turn through an “Official Use Only” zone.

His tractor-trailer blocked traffic, resulting in a fatal collision with a minivan that claimed the lives of three innocent Americans.

State and federal investigators later confirmed that Singh lacked English proficiency, failing to correctly identify road signs or answer basic language questions.

According to Homeland Security:

“Harjinder Singh, an illegal alien from India who killed three innocent people, FAILED an English Language Proficiency assessment. Singh provided correct responses to just 2 of 12 verbal questions and only accurately identifying 1 of 4 highway traffic signs.

And yet, Gavin Newsom’s sanctuary California gave this illegal alien who cannot speak English a Commercial Drivers License to drive an 18-wheeler.

DHS will work with [U.S. Department of Transportation] to root out and prevent illegal aliens from obtaining these licenses from sanctuary jurisdictions that put American drivers and passengers in danger.”

L.A. Mayor Karen Bass Demands End to ICE Raids that Captured Illegal Alien Child Molester Working at Car Wash

Los Angeles, California, Mayor Karen Bass (D) is demanding that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) end all worksite raids “at fruit stands and car washes” in the sanctuary city, just as agents arrested an illegal alien convicted child molester at an Orange County, California, car wash.

This week, Bass posted on X that ICE raids “at fruit stands and car washes must end,” calling such raids “un-American” and declaring that she “will never accept these tactics as a new normal.”

United States Border Patrol agents arrested illegal alien Claudio Reyes-Vasquez during a targeted operation at Chapman Car Wash in Orange County, just an hour outside of Los Angeles.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials called Reyes-Vasquez “one of the worst of the worst,” noting that he had been arrested for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old and had an active federal warrant for his arrest after violating his probation.

Most significantly, perhaps, Reyes-Vasquez has a criminal record going back to 1990 — having been convicted of molesting a child, beating his spouse, two DUIs, battery, petty theft, and illegal reentry.
