REVEALED: Here is the Discovery that Triggered the Federal Agents’ Raid on Ilhan Omar’s DC Home

The heat on far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and her family continues to build as more damning information leaks out, including what triggered the raid on her home to begin with.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, federal agents raided the Washington, DC-area residence of Omar early Monday morning as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into her immigration paperwork.

Fox News Digital reported exclusively that the pre-dawn raid was part of an ongoing criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman’s immigration paperwork, documents filled out by her late father when she was a child.

According to her website, Ilhan Omar arrived in the United States in March 1995, when she was 12 years old. She came with her family as a Somali refugee after spending approximately four years in a refugee camp in Kenya. She became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2000, at age 17.

Multiple agents wearing HSI jackets were observed outside the residence around 6 a.m.

Now, we know exactly the discovery that led to the raid. The New York Times exclusively reported on Saturday that federal officials seized the phone of Omar’s Sister, Sahra Noor, earlier this year.

When they did so, they noticed that the phone contained damning family text messages. Investigators then later used these messages to get a federal judge to authorize the raid on Omar’s home.

Report: Feds Seize Ilhan Omar’s Cellphone in Immigration Fraud Investigation

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) cellphone has been seized by federal investigators as part of the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) and Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) immigration fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman.

This week, agents with the Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) unit raided Omar’s Washington, DC, residence after a federal judge approved a search warrant.

Fox News Digital now reports that HSI agents have seized Omar’s phone, in addition to the DOJ issuing subpoenas to the congresswoman’s relatives.

“Federal authorities seized a cellphone belonging to Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., during a Monday raid on her Washington, D.C., home as part of a criminal fraud investigation into her immigration paperwork,” Fox News Digital reports.

The raid on Omar’s home is related to an immigration fraud investigation, with rumors circulating that the probe centers on whether the congresswoman lied about her age when immigrating to the United States in 1995.

Omar became a naturalized American citizen in the year 2000.

Along with the immigration probe into Omar, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro revealed this week that her office has opened a financial investigation into the congresswoman, perhaps picking up an investigation that the Biden administration had started into her reported multimillion-dollar net worth.

“There are several investigations going on, and I don’t think there’s any question, but if there was a crime that was committed, it will be prosecuted,” Pirro told Fox News in an interview.

Ilhan Omar’s husband snaps over rumors she fled US after federal immigration fraud raid

While Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., has not been seen publicly since federal agents raided her Washington, D.C., residence on Monday, her political consultant husband was once again spotted emerging from their shared rental home this week.

Tim Mynett was seen Wednesday stepping out in the neighborhood to walk their Golden Labrador Retriever dog Teddy, a second time later that same day to take out the trash and a third time to walk out his wife’s staffer.

“There are rumors that the congresswoman left the country, is that true?” Mynett was asked while on an evening walk with Teddy.

“You guys are annoying the hell out of all the neighbors around here, man,” he told Fox News Digital when approached about the developments this week, including President Donald Trump weighing in on the saga.

One of Omar’s congressional staffers was captured the same day bringing into the couple’s home two large bags from fast food chain Burger King. Security escorted her to the door and staked out in front of the house after she entered with the meal.

Siad Barre, the Somali Dictator Ilhan Omar’s Father Served

Rep. Ilhan Omar describes her late father, Nur Omar Mohamed, as “an educator” in her memoir, according to Snopes. His 2020 Sahan Journal obituary describes a different career. He was a colonel in the Somali National Army who led a regiment in the 1977–1978 war with Ethiopia. His military career ended in 1991, when dictator Siad Barre’s regime collapsed.

A former army comrade told the paper that Nur joined the army after receiving a military education in Russia. The record of the regime he served explains why the distinction matters.

Barre seized power in a 1969 coup and ruled Somalia until 1991, governing it as a one-party state through the Somali Revolutionary Socialist Party. His ruling council aligned itself with the Soviet Union and denounced American policy in Africa as imperialist.

In 1977, Moscow backed Ethiopia in the Ogaden War. That November, Barre abrogated the Soviet friendship treaty, expelled all Soviet military and civilian advisers, and ended Soviet access to Somali military facilities. Nur led his regiment against Ethiopian forces supported by the Soviet Union and Cuba and remained in Barre’s army after the break with Moscow.

After a 1971 coup attempt, Barre executed members of the three leading clans, including the Majerteen. He made clan membership the organizing principle of Somali politics, according to an account drawing on State Department and Africa Watch reporting.

Barre claimed that Islam and socialism were compatible but did not tolerate religious opposition. When 23 shaykhs protested his 1975 family law, his security forces arrested them. Ten were executed for “acting on behalf of foreign powers,” according to a CIA review.

After Majerteen officers attempted a coup in April 1978, the regime punished the entire clan. Africa Watch documented extrajudicial executions, rape, and the killing of livestock as part of a scorched-earth policy intended to cut off civilian support for Majerteen rebels.

Dem Rep. Ilhan Omar’s team got birthdate changed in public records after she was elected to House

Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar’s staff reportedly got her birthdate changed in public records shortly after she was elected to the House in 2018, which would make her a year younger than previously documented, according to records.

The revelation comes amid concerns that the congresswoman misrepresented her age to secure American citizenship. Omar has claimed that she was 17-years-old when she became a citizen in 2000, but previous records noted that she was born in 1981, meaning she was either 18 or 19 when she became a U.S. citizen.

The records have since been updated to show the congresswoman was born in 1982, despite it saying 1981 for the entire time she served in the state legislature, and for months into her first Congressional term, the New York Post reported. 

“On May 17, 2019, Library staff were informed by Rep. Omar’s congressional staff that her birth year was incorrect and requested that we change it to 1982,” the director of the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library wrote in an email. 

“Rep. Omar’s congressional staff are working with Wikipedia and with the Biographical Directory of the United States Congress and other sources to correct her birth year on those sites,” the director continued. “As of today, the birth year has not been corrected on the two sites I mentioned.”

The director also noted that they had not verified Omar’s date of birth and that the initial birthdate was put down because the year had been widely available on Wikipedia and the Biographical Directory.

Omar, who was born in Somalia, has claimed that she became a citizen through her father, who became a naturalized citizen, but that’s only an option if she was a minor when it happened.

The revelation also comes in the wake of a Homeland Security Investigations division raid of Omar’s home in the early hours of Monday morning. The department said the raid was part of an investigation but did not state what it centered on.

Ilhan Omar’s Father Was a Colonel Loyal to Brutal Somali Dictator, Served as Senior Officer During Genocide of Isaaq People – Then ‘Misrepresented Himself as a Refugee’

We now know why Ilhan Omar and her family lied on immigration forms and changed their name when they entered the United States.

Between 1981 and 1991, the Somali military in which Colonel Nur Omar Mohamed, Ilhan Omar’s father served as a senior officer, executed a brutal and systematic campaign of genocide targeting the Isaaq people of the modern day Republic of Somaliland.

This was first reported back in July 2025 at the Somaliland Chronicle in July 2025 but received little attention.

This dark chapter in Africa’s history, which was known as the Isaaq Genocide, was a merciless military campaign that resulted in the killing of over 200,000 Isaaq civilians. It also involved widespread forced displacement, scorched‑earth destruction of the second and third largest cities (Hargeisa and Burao), aerial bombardement of almost every other single city, town and village in Somaliland, and two decades of large‑scale red-terror style tactics against the civilian population of Somaliland…

…At the heart of this brutal military regime was Colonel Nur Omar Mohamed, Ilhan Omar’s father. His rank, authority, membership of the regime Daarood clan, and 10+ years of having climbed the hierarchy in Somalia military to the rank of Colonel, placed him squarely in the Somali military’s command hierarchy during and at the height of its Isaaq genocide campaign. Based on his position, loyalty to the regime, and his role in the military, it is virtually certain that he had intimate knowledge of and involvement in the planning, conception, direction and execution of the genocide.

Today the children of former Somali dictator Mohamed Siad Barre, whose brutal regime has been linked to the deaths of as many as 200,000 people, are reportedly living quiet suburban lives in Columbus, Ohio.

According to an investigation by the New York Post, Barre’s son, Ayanle Mohamed Siad, and daughter, Deka Mohamed Siad, settled in the United States after their father was overthrown in 1991. Ilhan Omar’s father was a colonel in his regime.

Ilhan Omar Was 37 When She Entered Congress. Soon, She Became 36.

Leftists are amazing people. They can transform burly men not only into women, but into champion female athletes. They can make at least some people think that Old Joe Biden was a competent president and that Kamala Harris remains an appealing presidential candidate. They can sell gargantuan nanny state government and control over the minutest details of your life as the little guy finally getting justice and a fair shake. Is there anything they can’t do?

Apparently there isn’t. Now it has come to light that they can even turn back the clock and make people younger — if not everyone, then at least their leading apparatchiks. The New York Post reported Tuesday that the embattled Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Mogadishu) was 37 when she entered the House of Representatives, but soon afterward, became 36.

It’s a neat trick. But don’t try it at home. It seems that “Omar’s staff helped get her birthdate changed in public records once the Minnesota Democrat was elected to Congress in 2018, a switch that has since spurred frenzied accusations that she misrepresented her age to secure US citizenship.” Omar became a year younger, you see, because she has stated publicly that she entered the U.S. as a minor, under the guardianship of her father, but if she was actually 18 when she entered the country, she was not actually a minor at all.

That’s why this change of her birthdate may play a significant role in her immigration fraud case: “The alteration could offer a big clue as to what federal immigration agents were searching for when they raided her DC home Monday: If the congresswoman is actually one year older than she’s claimed to be, that would mean she couldn’t have legally become a US citizen in 2000, critics contend.”

The Justice Department secured a search warrant for Ilhan Omar’s home amid a years-long investigation into her immigration fraud.

Federal investigators have been probing the immigration paperwork filed by Ilhan Omar’s father.

However, the scope of the federal criminal investigation is much wider than previously reported.

On Monday, the Associated Press and NBC News reported that according to sources, federal investigators were also probing Ilhan Omar’s financial records.

Ilhan Omar Introduces Bill to Strip $140 Billion From ICE and Give It to Communities ‘Hurt’ by Deportation Raids

Rep. Ilhan Omar has introduced legislation that would take nearly $140 billion Congress already appropriated for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection and send it to communities she says were “harmed” by immigration operations.

The bill is titled the Make ICE Pay Act.

“For over a year, ICE has been tearing through our nation, leading racist terror campaigns that have caused devastating damage to our cities, to our businesses, and to the lives of our constituents,” Omar said in a press release about the bill.

“In Minneapolis, Operation Metro Surge cost our community nearly $700 million. We have a moral responsibility to end this abuse of power. Our bill will force ICE to pay the price for the damage they’ve left in their wake and ensure that these devastating operations can never be repeated.”

Other cosponsors include Reps. Angie Craig, Jesús García, Rashida Tlaib, Chellie Pingree, Sydney Kamlager-Dove, and Janelle Bynum.

“The psychological and financial impacts of Operation Metro Surge will be generational,” Craig said of the bill. “As Minnesotans begin the long process of healing from the wounds that President Trump’s ICE inflicted, it’s important that we commit to holding this lawless and misguided administration accountable. There is much more work to be done, but this bill is a critical step toward making our communities whole.”
