Texas Senate Candidate James Talarico Wants to Place a ‘Giant Welcome Mat’ on The Southern Border

Texas Senate candidate James Talarico has said America should put a “giant welcome mat” on its southern border with Mexico.

Talarico is running for the Democrat primary in Texas against the vile Jasmine Crockett.

“My family is from the border,” he said. “My mum grew up in Laredo, Texas.”

“I feel like Texans understand this issue more so than people in other states because we live with it,” he continued. “Both the benefits and the challenges.”

“So what I’ve said is that our southern border should be like our front porch. There should be a giant welcome mat out front and a lock on the door.”

”We can welcome immigrants who want to live the American dream and we can build a pathway to citizenship for those neighbors who have been here making us richer and stronger and we can keep out people who mean to do us harm.”

Jailed Fraud Queen Drops Bombshell: Walz, Ellison Knew About the $250M Heist All Along

A Minnesota woman convicted in one of the largest welfare fraud schemes in state history is alleging that Gov. Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison were aware of widespread fraud long before federal prosecutors intervened, adding new scrutiny to state leadership already facing a Department of Justice investigation.

Aimee Bock, the former head of the nonprofit Feeding Our Future, made the allegations during a jailhouse interview with Fox News from Sherburne County Jail in Minnesota.

Bock has been convicted of welfare fraud tied to the misuse of federal funds intended for child nutrition programs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

WHAT HAPPENED TO AFFORDABILITY? Tax Rate in Virginia Poised to Become Highest in the Nation After Democrats Take Over

For months now, Democrats in various locations have been running on talking points about ‘affordability’ but it is just talking points, nothing more.

Case in point, Virginia. Democrats took control of Virginia just days ago and the state is already poised to have the highest tax rate in the country, beating even California.

Does that sound like affordability to you?

From Liberty Unyielding, via the Fairfax GOP:

Virginia State Tax Rate Could Rise From 5.75% to 13.8%, Highest In The Nation

Bills pending in the Virginia state legislature could raise the state income tax a lot. The most likely to pass bill would increase the state income tax rate from 5.75% to 8% on incomes over $600,000 and 10% on incomes over $1,000,000. Another bill would impose an additional 3.8% tax (a “net investment income tax”) on most income above $500,000. If both bills pass, Virginia would have an 13.8% tax rate. That would be higher than what is currently the highest state tax rate in America, the 13.3% rate in California for households with million-dollar incomes. It would be far higher than the top tax rates in the region around Virginia, such as the 3.99% tax rate in North Carolina, the 4.82% rate in West Virginia, and the zero percent tax rate in Tennessee, which has no state income tax.

The most likely to pass bill is HB 979, introduced by Delegate Vivian Watts, the powerful chair of the Finance Committee in Virginia’s House of Delegates. HB 979 “establishes two new tax brackets beginning on and after January 1, 2027, that tax income in excess of $600,000 but not in excess of $1,000,000 at a rate of eight percent and income in excess of $1,000,000 at a rate of 10 percent.”

But wait, there’s more!

Dem Candidate In Hot Water Legally After Making Sick Comment About Trump

A CNN commentator and self-styled political candidate is facing intense scrutiny after he falsely claimed that President Donald Trump was part of a “sex-trafficking network” during a panel discussion.

The comment was made by Cameron Kasky, a Parkland shooting survivor who received national recognition as a gun control activist. In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, he joined classmates like David Hogg and a handful of others in becoming a national spokesman for gun control.

In one infamous moment, Kasky bizarrely told then-Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) during a town hall discussion that it was impossible to look at him without seeing Rubio “shooting my classmates.”

After high school, Kasky attended Columbia University for several semesters but later dropped out. He primarily works as an activist and media personality who has identified as a democratic socialist and “queer.”

Most recently, Kasky jumped into a crowded Democratic Party primary field to replace the rating Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) in the Empire State’s 10th Congressional District.

On Tuesday evening, Kasky joined a panel discussion on CNN NewsNight to discuss current issues of the day. He repeatedly clashed with conservative commentator Scott Jennings, at one point telling him “you don’t get to say the word ‘illegals’ anymore,” during a discussion on illegal immigration.

“I don’t?” Jennings immediately shot back. “Who are you to tell me what I can and can’t say? I’ve never met you, brother. I can say whatever I want. They’re illegal aliens, and that’s what the law calls them. Illegal aliens, that’s what I’m gonna call them.”

WHAT A COINCIDENCE: While Serving in Congress, Keith Ellison Sponsored Legislation That Made it Easier to Transfer Funds to Somalia

Before becoming the attorney general of Minnesota, Keith Ellison served in the House of Representatives, for the state’s 5th District, which includes the city of Minneapolis.

During his time in congress, Ellison only sponsored one bill, the Money Remittances Improvement Act of 2014. This bill made it easier to transfer funds to places overseas, like Somalia. Isn’t that fascinating?

You could not make this up.

Couple this with the fact that Ellison was caught on tape basically promising favors to fraudsters, and things are not looking good for him.

Hot Air has more on this:

It turns out that this bill was the Money Remittances Improvement Act, which created the conditions through which those hundreds of millions or likely billions of dollars were fraudulently acquired and sent off to fund the Somali civil war and to enrich members of Somali clans associated with those who settled here in Minnesota.

Any financial bill is complicated, but the most relevant portion of the bill in this case is to transfer the authority to monitor money transfers to foreign countries to the states, which are in turn supposed to ensure that federal regulations are strictly adhered to…

It’s almost as if the system were intentionally designed not to aid in the small remittances of people working in menial jobs as refugees to send money to their families back home, but rather to enable the shipment of hundreds of millions or billions of ill-gotten gains abroad.

Naah. Couldn’t be.

Such corruption is impossible in America, right? A no man with the patriotism and integrity that would vault him to the exalted heights of Congressman, Deputy Chair of the Democratic National Committee, and then Attorney General would ever participate in a scheme to defraud the state and federal governments, right?

REPORT: Kamala Campaign Probed Walz’s Links To Chinese Communists During Veep Selection

A Democrat who once bragged about his fondness for China was questioned about potential foreign ties during Kamala Harris’ failed presidential campaign, according to multiple sources familiar with the vice presidential vetting process.

The revelation surfaced as fallout continues over the Harris campaign’s questioning of Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro about whether he had ever acted as an agent for Israel, a claim Shapiro detailed in his recent memoir and confirmed by CNN.

“I told her how offensive the question was,” Shapiro wrote.

Sources told CNN that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was also subjected to intense scrutiny over his long history of praise for China and its communist system, with the campaign pressing him on whether his views and travel raised concerns about foreign influence. The outlet cited four unnamed sources familiar with the vetting process.

The questions, sources said, were not arbitrary.

Walz has a well-documented record of expressing admiration for China during his years as a teacher, including remarks praising communist ideology.

“It means that everyone is the same and everyone shares,” Walz said in 1991 while teaching.

“The doctor and the construction worker make the same. The Chinese government and the place they work for provide housing and 14 kg or about 30 pounds of rice per month. They get food and housing,” he added.

Minnesota Public Radio later reported that Walz exaggerated how often he traveled to China, raising further red flags during the vetting process.

Virginia Democrat Moves to Squash Oversight of Nonprofits After Somali Fraud Scandal

A Virginia state Democrat introduced a bill that would bar the state from verifying eligibility to receive federal taxpayer benefits.

“No state agency responsible for the administration of federal funds shall impose a requirement on a nonprofit charitable organization providing a federal public benefit to determine, verify, or otherwise require proof of eligibility of any applicant for such benefits,” the one-page bill stated, which was proposed by state Delegate Jessica Anderson.

The Dominion State Democrat’s bill was introduced as the nation has increasingly scrutinized the misuse of taxpayer funds. The Trump administration has moved to clamp down on fraud across many federal benefit programs.

Billions of dollars of taxpayer funds have been lost due to fraud related to Minnesota’s Somali community.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) charged at least 78 people as part of the “Feeding our Future” scandal, named for a Somali-linked nonprofit that bilked taxpayers of $250 million.

Those accused reportedly faked invoices, attendance records, and the distribution of meals in low-income and other areas in Minnesota.

Former Attorney General Eric Holder Says ‘There is a Concerted Effort to Re-Segregate America’

Eric Holder may be remembered as the worst attorney general in recent history, for a lot of reasons. One of them is his constant, partisan race-hustling.

During an event to honor the memory of Martin Luther King Jr. this week, Holder said that there is currently an effort to ‘re-segregate’ America.

Over the last ten to twenty years, progressive college students have demanded segregated dorms, segregated campus functions, and even segregated graduation ceremonies. Have you heard Holder say anything about that? Nope.

He is saying this now as a completely dishonest way to bash Trump and Republicans.

Breitbart News reported:

Holder argued there is “a sustained effort to eradicate the Voting Rights Act,” a law he called “the crown jewel of the civil rights movement, and an essential part of Dr. King’s legacy.” He said that the forces reshaping the country are “testing not only our institutions, but our collective and individual capacity to defend the ideals of this nation.” He added that “these actions require from all of us a clarity of purpose that is equal to the rising stakes.”

Holder claimed the Department of Justice (DOJ) is being “weaponized by the president and his lackeys to silence his critics and to intimidate voters.” He also criticized federal immigration enforcement, saying, “We are observing Gestapo tactics by federal immigration law enforcement in Minnesota as well as around the country.”

These comments arrive as federal officials have confirmed the removal of more than 2,500 criminal aliens in recent weeks and are demanding the transfer of 1,360 more detainees from city jails. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem described those arrested as “vicious murderers, rapists, child pedophiles and incredibly dangerous individuals.” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Gov. Tim Walz have opposed federal actions, prompting a Justice Department investigation into whether local officials have interfered with immigration enforcement.

Holder also invoked the fatal January 7 shooting of Renee Good by an ICE officer in Minneapolis. Referring to the matter, he told the audience, “You all remember the name Renee Good, and you say her name, you say her name.”

Taxing Lawnmowers, Gym Passes, And DoorDash Proves Dems Actually Hate ‘Affordability’

“Affordability” was the word of the year in Virginia politics in 2025.

“Affordability takes center stage in New Jersey, Virginia governor races,” ABC News‘ Benjamin Siegel wrote on November 2, 2025.

“Spanberger turns Virginia governor’s race into a test of Trump’s economy,” Politico’s Erin Doherty and Brakkton Booker wrote on October 29, 2025. “Spangberger has stuck to a message on the economy, specifically the cost of life for Virginians.”

“It’s not about inflation or the economy — the election instead delivered a ‘wake-up call’ on affordability politics, top pollster says,” Fortune’s Jason Ma wrote on November 8, 2025.

And Democrats won on this message.

Abigail Spanberger beat incumbent Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears while Democrats picked up seats in the state legislature. A post-election poll conducted by CBS News found that “‘economy’ voters voted for Abigail Spanberger over Winsome Earle-Sears by more than 20 points.”

Affordability carried the day — until Democrats actually got into office. Within weeks of Election Day, Virginia Democrats have made clear that “affordability” was never more than a campaign slogan.

House Bill 978 would dramatically expand Virginia’s sales and use tax to cover a ton of everyday services. Under the bill, taxes would be applied to gym memberships and fitness classes, dry cleaning, laundry services, pet care, home repairs and cleaning services, car repairs, delivery and shipping services, digital services and event planning.

In other words, the things that normal Virginians pay for to live their lives may soon cost more.

The revenue, meanwhile, is earmarked for transit authorities while another portion would be distributed on the “basis of the high-need student population in the locality.” The formula for “high-need student” includes students in social programs, special education, or English language learners.

Then comes Democrats’ anti-lawn crusade.

House Bill 881 would “Provide[s] that any locality with a population density of at least 2,500 persons per square mile may by ordinance prohibit or regulate the use of gas-powered leaf blowers.”

Yet at the same time, House Bill 557 would establish “a separate classification of tangible personal property for electric-powered landscaping equipment in a trade or business and used to maintain commercial, public, or private gardens, lawns, trees, shrubs, or other plants, including lawn mowers, edgers, trimmers, leaf blowers, and chainsaws.”

In other words, Virginia Democrats are trying to ban gas-powered leaf blowers while raising the tax on electric landscaping equipment.

“Out Of Touch”: Marylanders Fume As Gov. Moore Prioritizes Building Energy-Hungry ‘Sphere’ Amid Power Bill Crisis

Marylanders are raging at left-wing Governor Wes Moore, accusing him of fast-tracking a massively power-hungry Sphere entertainment venue near Washington, DC, while working-class households across the central part of the state are drowning under crushing electricity bills.

So this Governor spends money he doesn’t even have yet. 200 million dollars of the cost for the Sphere at National Harbor will come from the State of Maryland’s 2027 budget. He is so out of touch with what MD residents need and doesn’t care as long as his name is in the headlines every day,” Maryland resident Amy Milberger Seaman wrote in a Facebook group called “BGE Victims,” which has nearly 15,000 residents upset about exploding power bills.

Local media outlet WBAL-TV reported Monday that Sphere Entertainment plans to build its second U.S. Sphere venue in National Harbor, in Prince George’s County.

The Sphere will be slightly smaller than the one in Las Vegas, seating 6,000. Gov. Moore called the project the largest economic development project in the county’s history. The venue is expected to be funded through a mix of public and private financing, including $200 million in incentives from the state.
