COVID-19 Is No Longer A Top 10 Cause Of Death, CDC Report Says

COVID-19 is no longer a top 10 cause of death in the United States, according to a report released on Wednesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The overall death rate dropped to 722 per 100,000 in 2024 from 750.5 per 100,000 people in 2023, the CDC said.

“Suicide replaced COVID-19 as the 10th leading underlying cause of death,” the agency said in its report.

According to data released by the CDC, the COVID-19 death rate appeared to peak in early 2021. Other significant peaks in COVID-19 deaths were observed in mid-2021 and in early 2022, as well as in April 2020 and August 2020.

In the report released this week, the CDC said that heart disease, cancer, and unintentional injury were the leading causes of death. COVID-19 had been ranked as the third-leading cause of death in the United States in 2020, when the pandemic first emerged, federal data show.

After heart disease, cancer, and unintentional injury, the other causes of death listed in the agency’s report were stroke, chronic lower respiratory diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, kidney disease, chronic liver disease and cirrhosis, and suicide.

“The death rate decreased from 2023 to 2024 for all demographic groups except infants,” the CDC also wrote in the report, adding that “death rates also decreased for all race and ethnicity groups.”

A report released in May by the CDC shows that the national infant mortality rate dropped to about 5.5 infant deaths per 1,000 live births in 2024—from about 5.6 per 1,000 live births, where it had been the previous two years. Federal health data show that Mississippi has the highest infant mortality rate in the country.

In late August, Mississippi’s health department said it declared a public health emergency because of rising infant mortality rates in the state. Data released by the state show that the mortality rate increased to 9.7 per 1,000 live births last year, it said in a statement at the time.

Meanwhile, the U.S. suicide rate has steadily risen, increasing by 37 percent between 2000 and 2018, according to the CDC’s data. That rate dropped slightly between 2018 and 2020 before it returned to a peak rate of around 14.2 suicides per 100,000 people in 2022, the last available data.

Trump FDA to Present Data Linking COVID Jabs to Child Deaths at Upcoming CDC Meeting

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will present data linking COVID-19 vaccines to the deaths of dozens of children.

According to several media reports, the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) will meet Thursday and Friday to review and recommend several vaccines, including this fall’s updated Covid shots.

The FDA is basing its claim on data from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), a public database run jointly by the FDA and CDC.

The reports come after FDA Commissioner Marty Makary told CNN last week that the agency is investigating reports of healthy children dying after receiving Covid vaccines.

“We’ve been looking into the VAERS database of self-reports that there have been children that have died from the Covid vaccine,” Makary said.

“We’re going to release a report in the coming few weeks and we’re going to let people know. We’re doing an intense investigation.”

STUNNING TESTIMONY: Political Economist and Brownstone Fellow Dr. Toby Rogers TORCHES CDC’s Autism Narrative Before U.S. Senate — Exposes “Genetic Myth,” Shredded Studies, and Hidden Data Proving Vaccines Drive the Autism Epidemic

The U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations was rocked on Tuesday by jaw-dropping testimony from political economist Dr. Toby Rogers, Ph.D., M.P.P., who dismantled the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) long-standing narrative on autism.

Dr. Rogers, a Brownstone Institute Fellow and leading researcher, testified that the autism epidemic in America is being fueled by toxic exposures, most notably vaccines, and not by “bad luck genetics,” as government health officials have claimed for decades.

Rogers recounted how his then-partner’s son was diagnosed with autism in 2015, prompting him to dig into the CDC’s claims. As a PhD student trained to scrutinize primary sources, he discovered the agency’s story simply didn’t add up.

Rogers explained how the CDC has leaned on three flimsy excuses for the explosion of autism cases since the 1970s: genetics, parental age, and obscure drugs like valproic acid and thalidomide. But none of these can explain the staggering reality:

Rogers:
“On July 4, 2015, my then-partner’s son was diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum. I was in a Ph.D. program in Political Economy at the University of Sydney where I had access to almost all current scientific and medical journals.

I wanted to better understand what was happening, so I went to the CDC’s webpage on the causes of autism.

As a Ph.D. student I was trained to focus on primary source documents, so I read all of the references in their footnotes. To my surprise, I quickly discovered that the CDC’s narrative did not add up:

  • Claims that autism is genetic don’t make sense because autism prevalence was rising too fast — there’s no such thing as a genetic epidemic.
  • Then the CDC blamed valproic acid, a treatment for epilepsy that is contraindicated in pregnancy, and thalidomide, which was never approved for use in the U.S. — so those factors could only explain a handful of cases stemming from inadvertent use.
  • Finally, the CDC pointed to advanced parental age; however, the effect sizes were modest and the increase in the proportion of older parents is insufficient to explain the surge in autism prevalence.

Rogers changed his doctoral thesis to focus on the political economy of autism, analyzing over 1,000 studies.

Rogers detailed how 22 studies claiming “vaccines don’t cause autism” are essentially worthless because not a single one used a true unvaccinated control group.

Meanwhile, over $2.3 billion has been poured into genetic research with virtually nothing to show for it.

Sparks Fly as RFK Jr. Tells Senators CDC Failed Americans During COVID

In a contentious Senate hearing today, U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. engaged in fiery exchanges with senators on both sides of the aisle who questioned his record in office, the administration’s vaccine policies, and the ouster of top officials and advisers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

During the hearing held by the Senate Finance Committee, which has oversight over the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), many senators used their allotted five minutes to make impassioned speeches and air their grievances, often leaving Kennedy little or no time to respond.

The New York Times described Kennedy, who was visibly annoyed at times, as “remarkably salty and dismissive with senators at times today.”

“You don’t want to talk,” Kennedy told Sen. Elizabeth Smith (D-Minn.). “You want to harangue and have partisan politics. I want to solve these problems.”

Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) called for Kennedy to resign or be fired by President Donald Trump during the hearing. This morning, Democratic senators on the committee issued a statement calling for his resignation.

Kennedy clashed with senators over the administration’s recent firing of CDC Director Susan Monarez, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) narrowing of the COVID-19 vaccine approvals, the recent cancellation of $500 million in research funding for mRNA vaccines, Kennedy’s restructuring of the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices) and the upcoming agenda for that committee, which will address the universal hepatitis B vaccine recommendations.

Several senators also pressed Kennedy on whether Operation Warp Speed was a great accomplishment, and raised concerns about cuts to Medicaid and funding for rural hospitals.

Kennedy shot back at his critics, promising to fix the “malpractice” within the public health agencies, and touting his agency’s many accomplishments since he took the helm.

He blasted the CDC, which he said, “is the most corrupt agency in HHS,” for its history of failing to protect Americans’ health, particularly during the COVID-19 crisis, during which the U.S. “did worse than any country in the world.”

“The people at CDC who oversaw that process, who put masks on our children, who closed our schools, are the people who will be leaving,” he said, adding, “That’s why we need bold, competent and creative new leadership at CDC. People who are able and willing to chart a new course.”

Enough Is Enough: What a CDC Resignation Letter Reveals

When Demetre Daskalakis resigned as Director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at CDC, his letter to leadership carried a tone of finality and moral conviction. “Enough is enough,” he declared, explaining that Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s leadership had made it impossible for him to continue. The letter has been praised as principled, but when read closely it is less a defense of science than a portrait of the very rhetorical habits that drove the public away from CDC in the first place: appeals to authority, catastrophic predictions, ad hominem attacks, and factual distortions.

Consider his charge that he can no longer serve in an environment that “treats CDC as a tool to generate policies and materials that do not reflect scientific reality and are designed to hurt rather than to improve the public’s health.”

This is a false dichotomy. It frames the choice as binary: either one accepts CDC’s “scientific reality,” or one is accused of designing policies to harm. Yet the last five years have shown what most Americans already know: what CDC has called “science” has often been neither transparent nor replicable, but political judgment dressed in a white coat.

RFK Jr: “We were lied to about everything”

In a Twitter (now X) thread, Children’s Health Defense picked out some highlights of ‘The President’s 2026 Health Care Agenda’ hearing held on 4 September 2024.  We have republished the thread below.

You can watch the full Senate hearing on YouTube HERE and read the written statement submitted by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. HERE.

RFK Jr.’s Senate testimony just broke the Internet: “We were lied to about everything.”

By Children’s Health Defense

Kennedy spent three hours exposing the truth about vaccines and autism, the CDC’s cover-up of vaccine injuries and why Trump just fired corrupt CDC leadership.  And he named names – he called out corrupt Senators to their faces for taking Pharma money.

First, RFK Jr. broke down the truth about Pharma’s covid-19 cover-up: “We were lied to about everything.”

Democrats accused him of “politicising” HHS – but he exposed that everything about Pharma’s covid narrative was a lie.

“The whole process was politicised.”

“We were lied to about natural immunity.”

“We were told again and again the vaccines would prevent transmission, they’d prevent infection.”

“It wasn’t true.”

“Probably the most famous scientist on ACIP was Martin Kulldorff from Harvard … and he criticised the covid booster mandates.”

“President Biden came in, he mandated it, and then he fired the two top health officials at FDA, Dr. Gruber and Dr. Krause,” for their refusal to bow to Covid orthodoxy.

Then, RFK Jr. held Senator Michael Bennet accountable for refusing to acknowledge covid-19 vaccine injuries.

“Are you saying, Senator, that the mRNA vaccine has never been associated with myocarditis or pericarditis in teenagers?”

Sen. Bennet: “I am simply trying to say that the people that you have put on that panel, after firing the entire …”

RFK: “You’re evading the question.”

CDC bureaucrats accused of using a CIA sabotage manual to block Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s reforms

An explosive revelation is shaking the core of the U.S. healthcare system. Career bureaucrats within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are using a 1944 CIA manual, «Simple Sabotage», to orchestrate an internal sabotage campaign against Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

This plot aims to thwart Kennedy’s ambitious reforms to dismantle Big Pharma’s influence and prioritize public health under the slogan «Make America Healthy Again.»

The manual, distributed among CDC employees, promotes tactics such as delaying orders, drafting confusing documents, and encouraging uncooperative attitudes to create administrative chaos.

These actions are a panicked response from left-leaning bureaucrats following the dismissal of former CDC Director Susan Monarez on August 27, and Kennedy’s cuts to questionable programs.

Monarez was fired after refusing to support vaccine restrictions lacking scientific evidence, accusing Kennedy of «sabotaging» public health.

Kennedy, during a recent Senate hearing, denied these claims, refuting any private meetings with Monarez. Kennedy has faced fierce resistance.

Over 1,000 current and former HHS employees demanded his resignation in a letter published on Save HHS, accusing him of dismantling public health infrastructure and spreading vaccine misinformation.

RFK Jr. vs. “The Science”: The Untold Story of Corporate Capture

The “scientist” on the left pushed COVID shots for babies, pregnant women, and backed mandates. RFK Jr. vs. “The Science”

The man on the right is trying to Make America Healthy Again.

The CDC has a corruption problem, and it’s been this way for decades.

And it all traces back to one quiet change that took place in 1983.

This information comes from the work of medical researcher A Midwestern Doctor. For all the sources and details, read the full report below.

Unmasking CDC Corruption: RFK’s Battle to Reform Public Health

RFK Jr. wants to Make America Healthy Again.

But don’t think his confirmation as HHS Secretary flipped a switch. What some people fail to realize is that he wasn’t suddenly given the power to do what he wants.

For one thing, the bureaucrats under him didn’t suddenly embrace MAHA.

In fact, the opposite happened.

And no agency has fought harder against reform than the CDC.

RFK Jr. Says CDC Ordered Scientist to DESTROY Autism Data Linking Measles Vaccine to Black Children in 2002

During a stunning Senate hearing, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. revealed that in the early 2000s, a senior CDC scientist was ordered to destroy data from an internal study that showed a staggering link between the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine and autism risk in young Black boys.

In 2004, a CDC-backed case-control study in Atlanta compared 624 children with autism to 1,824 without, assessing whether timing of MMR vaccination (before vs. after 18 or 24 months) was linked to autism risk. It found no significant association.

While the 2004 study did not find a causal link, a later re-analysis of the same data received significant attention.

A 2014 study published in Translational Neurodegeneration re-examined the CDC’s dataset and claimed to find an increased autism risk among African American boys who received the MMR vaccine before 36 months of age.

According to the 2014 study, “The present study provides new epidemiologic evidence showing that African American males receiving the MMR vaccine prior to 24 months of age or 36 months of age are more likely to receive an autism diagnosis.”

According to RFK Jr., the findings were explosive:

“The data from that study showed that black boys who got the vaccine on time had a 260% greater chance of getting an autism diagnosis than children who waited,” Kennedy testified.

“The chief scientist on that, Dr. William Thompson, the Senior Vaccine Safety Scientist at CDC, was ordered to come into a room with four other co-authors by his boss, Frank DeStefano, who’s the head of the safety press, and ordered to destroy that data. Then they published it without that fact.”

Paul: Gay CDC official’s ‘lifestyle’ disqualified him from government

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said Tuesday that a gay leader at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) who resigned last week in protest of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had “no business being in government” due to the “lifestyle” he led.

Demetre Daskalakis, former director of the CDC’s Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, was among the four CDC leaders who resigned last week, saying in their resignations that the changes under Kennedy were preventing them from carrying out the agency’s public health mission.

“One of the guys that is the biggest proponent of doing all this is the guy who describes the risky behavior that he and his lifestyle involve,” Paul said when asked about the exodus in CDC leadership Tuesday evening, referring to Daskalakis.

Paul was discussing his opposition to infant vaccinations against hepatitis B when asked.

“A guy that is so far … out of the mainstream, I think most people in America would discount his opinion because of the things he said in the past. He does not represent the mainstream of anything in America,” Paul continued.

“He should have never had a position in government. And he brags about his lifestyle, you know, this whole idea of bondage and, you know, multiple partners and all that stuff. He brags about that stuff, but he’s got no business being in government. It’s good riddance.”

GOP Rep. Buddy Carter (Ga.) has also criticized Daskalakis for his personal life, calling him a “BDSM Satan worshipper” on CNN on Sunday.

Since resigning, Daskalakis has forcefully spoken out against Kennedy in the media, saying in an interview Sunday that he can “only see harm coming” from the secretary’s policies. He has specifically criticized actions by the Health and Human Services Department that limit access to mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.

In 2021, Daskalakis posed for the cover of Plus Magazine wearing a leather harness, an article of clothing popular among gay men and tied to the gay leather and BDSM communities. The cover and other posts Daskalakis made on social media have come under scrutiny in conservative media since his resignation.

Daskalakis came to wider public recognition when he led the CDC’s response to the 2022 mpox outbreak that primarily affected the social networks of men who have sex with men.
