City of Berkeley, California Attempts to Raise the Cost of Gas Stoves to ‘Disincentivize’ Their Use

Remember months back when the Democrats were caught trying to ban gas stoves? And remember how after they were caught doing this, they insisted it wasn’t true and mocked anyone who even brought it up?

Chuck Schumer even went in front of cameras and condescendingly said, “No one is coming for your gas stoves.”

Well, like many other supposed ‘conspiracy’ theories over the last few years, it turned out to be true. And now we’re learning that the left’s war on gas stoves is still happening.

Berkeley, California is trying to make it difficult to even buy one.

California city attempts to raise cost of gas stoves to ‘disincentivize’ natural gas infrastructure

The Wall Street Journal editorial board slammed the city of Berkeley’s attempts to raise the cost of installing gas stoves in commercial and residential buildings.

“Democrats insist they aren’t coming for gas stoves, but look at how the People’s Republic of Berkeley is trying to tax them into obsolescence,” The Wall Street Journal wrote in an editorial published Thursday.

The Biden-Harris administration received criticism from consumers and businesses after it announced energy efficiency regulations targeting gas-powered stovetops as part of its broader climate agenda. It later backed off from a more aggressive proposal announced in 2023.

“It is the intent of the People to disincentivize obsolete natural gas infrastructure and associated greenhouse gas emissions in existing commercial and large residential buildings, thereby reducing the environmental and health hazards produced by the consumption and transportation of natural gas,” the initiative supporting the measure in Berkeley says, per the Journal.

Isn’t it strange how this thing they insisted wasn’t happening is in fact, actually happening?

COMMIEFORNIA: UC Berkeley Parents Hire Private Security to Protect Children From Violent Crime Surge

Parents of students at University of California Berkeley have become so concerned about their offspring’s safety they have hired private security to secure the local vicinity.

SFGATE reports that parents were forced to take matters into their own hands amid a surge in violent crime around the UC Berkeley campus located outside of San Francisco:

Parents and community members of SafeBears, a nonprofit organization started in 2022, raised $40,000 at the end of 2023 to launch the pilot program, which started March 6 and concludes on Saturday, according to the group’s website.  Six security guards from Streetplus, a third-party contractor, are patrolling five routes around the campus and the university’s residence halls on foot and by bicycle from 6:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. daily.

The security guards are not armed and will not enter university property, the website says, but are trained in de-escalation and CPR. They also must earn a California “guard card” from the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, requiring them to clear a background check from the California Department of Justice and FBI.

While the program will not be continuing beyond this weekend, parents hope that they will be able to convince the university to take more action.

“While we will not be extending the length of our private safety pilot beyond March 23, we will certainly continue to push the administration at UC Berkeley to do more to protect students from violence,” Sagar Jethani, president of SafeBears, told SFGATE.

The move comes amid a surge in violent crime in the local area, which is notorious as one of the most left-wing places in the entire country.

According to the Berkeley Scanner, over the course of 2023 robberies increased by 29 percent, property crime by 58 percent and sex crimes remained around the same.

Berkeley Police Department in turmoil over leaked texts about arrest quotas

The Berkeley Police Department was in turmoil Thursday following the leak of text messages that allegedly show the president of the police officers union making racially charged remarks and calling for arrest quotas.

The growing scandal resulted in the union president, Sgt. Darren Kacalek, being placed on administrative leave Wednesday, city officials confirmed. He also stepped down from his position as union head. It also put on pause the City Council’s pending appointment of a new police chief, Jennifer Louis, the Berkeley Scanner reported.

The texts were exposed last week by a city police officer who was fired last year, Corey Shedoudy. He claimed he obtained the messages during the arbitration process to get back his job.

“Evidence was uncovered that exposed the unethical and illegal practice of arrest quotas of downtown unhoused ordered by Sgt. Darren Kacalek,” Shedoudy wrote in an email to the mayor and City Council. The officer was reportedly fired for intentionally crashing his bike into a car.

As a member of the Downtown Task Force and BPD Bike Force in 2020, Shedoudy claimed that Kacalek — a sergeant in the Police Department at the time — required him and other officers to make 100 arrests per month, “which was at the time more than the rest of the police department combined,” Shedoudy wrote in the email.

The quotas continued after Louis was named interim chief, Shedoudy said.

Trans Pedophile Still Free After Attempting to Meet Child, Baby for Sexual Abuse

Berkeley Police allowed a suspected pedophile to walk away from a sting conducted by predator hunters despite being shown evidence that he had been expressing interest in molesting multiple children, including an infant.

On August 20, anti-pedophile vigilante group Predator Poachers uploaded footage of a sting they conducted in Berkeley, California to YouTube involving a trans-identified male who had been purportedly seeking to meet a 9-year-old for the purposes of sexually abusing her.

The girl was in fact a decoy established by the group as part of a months-long investigation into the man, who went by the name Sophia Westfall.

Speaking to Reduxx, predator hunter Alex Rosen says Westfall first contacted the decoy’s Instagram account in April, and soon after began initiating sexual conversations with the child.

Rosen is a full-time anti-pedophile vigilante, and he and his small team have traveled across the United States conducting stings on predators since 2019. Ample evidence is gathered prior to a confrontation, and police are then called.

Rosen told Reduxx that the sting uploaded on the 20th had actually been conducted on June 7 when he and his team were in California.

“Sophia was one of the reasons we were in California but we actually had multiple suspects in the state,” he explained, noting that Sophia had been picked up by two different decoys on two different platforms — Instagram and Telegram. Rosen says both decoy accounts had been populated using altered and AI-generated photos.

Berkeley co-op bans WHITE PEOPLE from common areas to ‘avoid white violence and presence’ and all students trying to sign in are asked to declare their race

An off-campus co-op for students at the University of California, Berkeley named the ‘Person of Color Theme House’ has banned white guests from entering common areas of the house.

A list of house rules revealed that occupants were told ‘many POC moved here to be able to avoid white violence and presence, so respect their decision of avoidance if you bring white guests.’ 

While the student house aims to have an ‘inclusive’ environment, the rules specifically state ‘white guests are not allowed in common spaces,’ according to the list, which was posted on Reddit.  

The accommodation, which is located close to Berkeley’s campus, is a five-story, 30-room home that can house up to 56 students. The house is owned by a private landlord. 

But the ‘rules’ which were leaked on social media have caused outrage – with many people slamming the restrictions as ‘racist’ as others came forward and revealed their experience living in the co-op.  

One mixed-race Reddit user, who claimed to have lived at the house, said that their ‘presence as a light skinned person was not received well.’

They said house members called them slurs and they were even ‘not allowed to let my dad enter the house because he’s white.’

UC Berkeley Professor Told Students Abolishing Whiteness Means Wiping out White People

When you were growing up, the term “abolition” likely referred to slavery.

But much history has since been made, and we’re in the midst of a racial revolution.

These days, a world of wokeness wants to “abolish whiteness.”

How might that be done?

According to University of California, Berkeley Professor Zeus Leonardo, we must eradicate white people.

Per The Post Millennial, in a video of the instructor’s lecture “Teaching Whiteness in a Multicultural Context and Colorblind Era,” Zeus asks, “Is it worth it to be white anymore?”

A host of current headlines beg the same.

White folks, he waxes, “depend” upon whiteness:

“[I’m] trying to distinguish between whiteness and ideology, white people and identities and white bodies, which is some kind of literal understanding there that then we graft the meaning of white people onto, right? But if you undercut whiteness as an ideology, one that a lot of abolitionists suggest is parasitic, right? And it’s an ideology that white people really depend on.”

Should they be let off the hook?

“If we give white people an option out of that, and it’s not just sort of words, right? It’s sort of structural transformations, then what I’m suggesting is that it also signals the withering away of white people.”

The professor gets downright biblical. To quote John Lennon, “imagine”:

“If you can, imagine we didn’t have white people…let’s say, 600 years ago. So the suggestion by abolitionists is, we made white people, so one is not born white. By virtue of having a white Bible, one has to be taught to be white. … [W]hites are taught as young children to be white.”

Usually, he asserts, “That means in opposition to the non-white, usually black.”

The instructor can’t fathom that colorblindness is real. “Colorblindness isn’t necessarily such a literal process of being blind to color,” he insists. “It’s about feigning being blind to color, because in a completely racialized globe, how do you not see race?”

White people know what they are:

“[W]e…know just from personal experience, that if a white person took a non-white person home as a date, everything changes. Right? … To bring home a friend who’s not white, everything changes.”

Why in the world wouldn’t whites want whites to be abolished? He theorizes it may be their awareness of whiteness:

“So in some, at least, lived way, whites already know that they’re white. And that may explain why there’s sort of this defensive reaction towards abolishing whiteness and abolishing white people, because there is an investment here, okay?”

And abolition, as he understands it, is exactly what must occur. White bodies, however, will get a pass:

“[M]y recent understanding is that to abolish whiteness is to abolish white people. Okay, now that’s…different from white bodies, right? White bodies will still exist, but we will no longer consider them white people.”

Berkeley Prof. Caught On Camera Telling Students White People Are ‘Villains That Need To Be Abolished’

Professor Zeus Leonardo, an associate dean at Berkeley’s Graduate School of Education, thinks racial justice might mean abolishing white people.

“To abolish whiteness is to abolish white people. That’s very uncomfortable perhaps, but it asks about our definitions of what race is and what racial justice might mean.”

He claims that white people are committed to being villains.

Can you imagine if we said this about black people? He’s inciting people to violence and is promoting hatred.

This is what teachers are learning.

During a virtual discussion, a video of which surfaced in October, Leonardo suggested reading for students arguing white people are not actually born white, but rather “abused” and “bullied” into becoming white by their white caretakers and guardians.
