White House COVID Czar: No Study Shows That Masks Are Effective Against the Virus

In a stunning announcement, the White House confirmed that the world is round, bears go to the bathroom in the woods, and masks don’t work against the coronavirus. Ok, I made that up. White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha did, however, make the stunning admission during a recent online discussion that masks aren’t the magic safety net that we’ve been told:

“There is no study in the world that shows that masks work that well.”

There, that’s it. That’s the end of my article.

No no, I’ll continue. What a shocker. Despite widespread masking being required in most of the country for months and sometimes years during the height of the COVID pandemic, most people with a lick of common sense quickly realized that they would do very little to stop transmission. First of all, all you had to do is watch a mask-wearer for a few minutes to see that most people kept fiddling with them to get the fit right, or they wore them with the sides open. Dudes with big beards looked comical with their masks pushed off their faces by their facial hair, allowing air to flow in and out with impunity.

Have you ever been talking to a mask fanatic and they pull it aside to say something to you? As if they feel they have that one moment of safety; “the virus won’t attack me because you’re my friend and I have something important to say!”

‘Absolutely’ keep wearing masks ‘everywhere,’ urges New York Times

A new report from the New York Times urges travelers to continue, or return to, mask-wearing, “everywhere” and “in between” on their upcoming holiday travels, including on planes, trains, buses, ferries, and even at their travel destinations.

Calling the current global health status a triple pandemic or “tripledemic,” the outlet advised readers recently on how to “fly more safely” for the holidays, simply stating “Hint: Wear a Mask.”

The “tripledemic” refers to those who are in fear of contracting COVID-19, the flu, or the latest respiratory syncytial virus.

The piece worries that “even though cases of the coronavirus have been ticking up, there is no suggestion that mandates will be reinstated.”

The article asks a series of self-prophesizing questions citing doctors, the Centers for Disease Control, Transportation Security Administration, and other unnamed “experts.”

The CDC reference possibly stems from a May 2022 mask and travel advisory in which the CDC recommends “passengers and workers – properly wear a well-fitting mask or respirator over the nose and mouth in indoor areas of public transportation (such as airplanes, trains, etc.) and transportation hubs (such as airports, stations, etc.).” The guidance is recommended for anyone over the age of two.

Top epidemiologist slams federal health agencies for acting like ‘PR department’ for drugmakers

One of the nation’s top epidemiologists is blasting federal health agencies, saying science has proven they have been wrong about everything from vaccine efficacy to mask protections during the COVID-19 pandemic and have eroded their trust with the public by acting like a “PR department” for drug and vaccine makers.

Dr. Harvey A. Risch, professor emeritus at the Yale School of Public Health, told the “Just the News, No Noise” television show on Friday that agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration manipulated statistics to portray plausible theories as scientific fact through the coronavirus emergency.

“When you play fast and loose with statistics trying to be plausible, that’s not science,” he said.

The end result, Risch said, was that public health agencies’ proclamations have been proven wrong repeatedly, eroding essential trust with the American public.

“Where we ended up is that the government said, you know, ‘You won’t get the infection if you get vaccinated,'” he said. “That was untrue. ‘You won’t spread the infection if you get vaccinated.’ That was untrue. It said reasonably that you won’t get sick or die from the infection if you get vaccinated. That’s, as we are seeing, not true. The majority of people now dying from COVID are vaccinated.”

Risch said the latest hit to federal officials’ credibility came with a new peer-reviewed randomized study that found N-95 respirator masks — long portrayed as superior virus filters — provided no better protection from the COVID-19 virus than cloth surgical masks and that neither provided significant protection to patients or medical providers.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt also claimed that retiring National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci, whose flip-flops on masking led to mass public confusion early in the pandemic, couldn’t name any studies showing mask effectiveness in his recent deposition in state-led litigation against alleged federal censorship.

Fauci Couldn’t Name Any Studies Showing Masks Work Against COVID-19

Dr. Anthony Fauci could not cite any studies that changed his mind about masking against COVID-19 during a recent deposition, lawyers who were in the room said.

Fauci, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) director, was among the U.S. officials repeatedly urging people not to mask early in the pandemic unless they were showing symptoms. Among his many public and private statements, he wrote in a Feb. 5, 2020 email that “the typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out virus, which is small enough to pass through the material.”

About two months later, Fauci and other top officials reversed course and issued widespread masking recommendations, regardless of symptoms.

Asked about the change while under oath on Nov. 23, Fauci couldn’t provide any studies, according to lawyers representing plaintiffs in a case against the federal government.

“He was asked what studies or study changed his mind in that interim, which is what he claimed—he claimed that it was studied. He couldn’t name any,” Jenin Younes, one of the lawyers, told The Epoch Times.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, a Republican who was also present during the deposition in Maryland, said on social media that Fauci “couldn’t cite a single study” to back up his claim that masks were effective against COVID-19.

HHS Report Recommends Government ‘Encourage or Mandate’ Masking to Fight Coronavirus

A report from the Health and Human Services (HHS) Department is recommending that government officials “encourage or mandate” masking to fight against “long COVID,” conveniently after the completion of the midterm elections.

The HHS report details policies to combat the Chinese coronavirus, which has now been around for almost three years. One of the recommendations includes the reintroduction of masking, contending that it will assist those suffering from lingering effects from their infection.

“The lifting of mask mandates and indifferent attitude toward masking and social distancing typical in many public and private places further isolates people with Long COVID,” the report stated, recommending those in government “encourage or mandate policies and protocols regarding masking and social distancing in public spaces.”

Scottish Government Finally Admits That Mask-Wearing is Harmful

Scotland was slow to remove mask mandates in the general population. The legal requirement to wear a mask in public spaces became ‘guidance’ on April 18th 2022 but continued as a strong recommendation in health and social care settings. This policy was again reviewed in June but mask-wearing continued to be strongly recommended, meaning that many residents in care homes possibly never saw an unmasked face for over two years. However, a concerted campaign has – finally – achieved a change in policy that should end routine mask wearing in social care settings.

Prompted by the disappointing review in June, and after two years of frustrating and fruitless communication with health and social care organisations in Scotland on the subject of harms caused by mask-wearing, I reluctantly sent an open letter to CEOs of Scottish health and social care organisations on July 19th, imploring them to urgently challenge the Scottish Government to end illogical and harmful mask-wearing policies.

I received non-committal responses from statutory organisations but one CEO was honest enough to tell me he had neither the “authority nor governance” to challenge Government policy. This was surely the fundamental source of the problem and the reason why my communications had been received with resistance or silence (but, rarely disagreement). This CEO promised to communicate my concerns with the Scottish Government but was clearly unable to include a personal opinion or to dissent from the organisation’s position. Indeed, two other CEOs stated they had neither the time nor resources to engage in this debate but wished me well in “my campaign” and asked to be kept informed of progress.

Judge JAILS juror for a day for refusing to wear a mask – despite no such mandate existing: Navy vet dad says was ‘worst 24 hours of my life’ – given orange jumpsuit and tossed in cell with criminals

North Carolina father-of-one spent 24 hours in jail for refusing to wear a mask as ordered by a judge despite no state or county mandates in place.

Gregory Hahn, 47, a US Navy veteran, was among several of 98 jury duty candidates called to Harnett County court who showed up not wearing a mask because there were no such rules or warnings in place, WRAL reports.

Despite the fact that masks aren’t required in the building, Judge Winston Charles Gilchrist mandated that everyone in his courtroom wear a mask.

When Hahn refused, the judge warned him that he would be held in contempt of court and could spend a month in jail, but the man refused to back down.

‘I said, ‘I’m not going to wear a mask,’ and he goes, ’24 hours in the Harnett County jail,” Hahn recalled Friday on Tucker Carlson Tonight.

Dr. Fauci Spotted Maskless at Aspen Airport After Telling Americans to Wear Masks Indoors

Lord Fauci was spotted maskless at Aspen airport this weekend.

Fauci recently told Americans to wear masks in indoor settings.

Dr. Fauci wasn’t wearing a mask because no tv cameras were around.

Dr. Fauci recently lectured Americans on the virtues of mask wearing.

Fauci over the summer fired off another warning shot and said the pandemic isn’t over.

Fauci urged people to get vaccinated and boosted even though latest CDC data show Covid-19 infections are higher in boosted Americans compared to the unboosted.

Dr. Fauci also advised people to wear a mask in indoor settings.

“Hopefully the more people that get vaccinated and boosted and the more people that realize the importance of when you have a high level of viral dynamics that when you’re in an indoor setting you should wear a mask, even though the whole world including the United States and the UK are just worn out and tired by this outbreak — it isn’t over yet,” Fauci said over the summer.

Fauci continued, “People need to realize it is never going to go back to zero. That’s not the nature of this virus.”

On July 25, Fauci said Americans should wear masks in “schools, places of work” and any place “that brings people together in a closed environment.”

Masking no longer about SCIENCE: it’s about “respecting” Blacks and Hispanics, somehow

MSNBC ran a segment the other day featuring The New York Times editorial board member Mara Gay, who made the implication that not wearing a face mask is racist.

Even though official government policy has done away with masking, Gay believes that people should still wear one as a sign of respect towards blacks, Hispanics and Native Americans, whom she claims have a higher-than-average risk of testing positive for the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19).

“I think it’s an important moment to recognize everybody is weary, but the impact has not been equal across the American population or the world,” Gay told one of the hosts who expressed that he is tired of wearing a mask.

“A virus does not a pandemic make. What makes this a pandemic is the fact that 1,000 Americans are still dying from this virus. It is not the flu. And also, many, many more, unfortunately, are coming down with symptoms of long covid, which has become endemic, and anybody is susceptible to.”

CNN Medical Analyst Who Fiercely Advocated Masking Now Admits It ‘Harmed’ Her Own Son’s Development

CNN medical analyst Dr. Leana Wen, who for two years was one of the strongest advocates for masks and masks in schools, now admits that forcing her child to wear one harmed his development.

As we previously noted, Wen started to admit some months ago that masks don’t work in stopping the spread of COVID, further declaring that “the decision to wear a mask should shift from a government mandate to an individual choice.”

As recently as two months prior to that, Wen was advocating for the Biden administration to “further restrict the activities of the unvaccinated.”

Wen also previously entrenched a segregated society when she blamed people who hadn’t taken the jab for a COVID-19 “surge” while asserting “we can’t trust the unvaccinated.”

Wen also called for making it “hard for people to remain unvaccinated” by restricting their social freedoms.

She asserted that, “It needs to be hard for people to remain unvaccinated,” claiming that it wasn’t currently difficult (despite the group being demonized and discriminated against on a daily basis).

Wen also previously stated that children returning to school need to be forced to wear industrial grade face masks and should be subjected to weekly COVID tests until they are fully vaccinated.

Now, however, Wen says that masking kids has too many downsides.

In an op-ed for The Washington Post, Wen states “It became clear that the goal I’d hoped for — containment of covid-19 — was not reachable. This coronavirus is here to stay.”

“With this new, indefinite time frame, the benefit-risk calculus of mitigation measures shifted dramatically. I was willing to limit my children’s activities for a year or two but not for their entire childhood,” she continues.
