Maxwell accuser says Epstein took her to meet Trump when she was 14

The first accuser to take the stand in the Ghislaine Maxwell trial testified on Wednesday that Jeffrey Epstein took her to meet former President Trump at Mar-a-Lago when she was 14, CNN reported.

The first of four accusers, identified as “Jane,” took the stand to testify about the abuse she suffered at the hands of Maxwell and Epstein and claimed that she met the future president in the 1990s.

She did not accuse the former president of any wrongdoing and did not elaborate on her reason for being at the Florida property.

When asked by Laura Menninger, Maxwell’s defense attorney, if Epstein introduced her to Trump, Jane replied with a “yes.”

Jane said Epstein drove her to Mar-a-Lago in a dark-green car, The Guardian reported.

Additionally, she testified that in 1998 she took part in a Miss Teen USA beauty pageant that was associated with Trump.

Trump did not immediately respond to The Hill’s request for comment.

When Trump was previously asked about Maxwell’s case while still president in 2020, he said, “I haven’t really been following it too much. I just wish her well, frankly.”

QAnon adherents descend on Ghislaine Maxwell trial, upset Trump’s name came up in testimony

QAnon followers rushed to former President Donald Trump’s defense after Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime pilot named him and several other prominent VIPs as passengers on the “Lolita Express” private plane during testimony Tuesday at Ghislaine Maxwell’s criminal sex trafficking trial.

Maxwell is accused of recruiting and grooming young girls who were then sexually abused by Epstein and his friends for decades. She has denied all the charges and says she’s being punished for Epstein’s crimes.

While pilot Lawrence Paul Visoski Jr. testified he flew Trump as well as former President Bill Clinton , Bill Gates, and Prince Andrew on Epstein’s private Boeing jet, he did not implicate the men in Epstein’s alleged dirty deeds.

That did not seem to matter to faithful QAnon followers, who went online to defend Trump after Visoski name-dropped him under oath.

The group has closely watched the developments in the case, claiming it provides proof that Maxwell not only aided and abetted Epstein but also that their involvement lends credibility to the conspiracy theory that there is a Satanic pedophile cabal made up of powerful Democrats, celebrities, and business owners.

The problem is that Trump is central to the QAnon narrative that believes he will expose the group of pedophiles to the world, leading to their arrest and ultimate execution. 

Having Trump called out in court as someone who has flown on the “Lolita Express” and has ties and pictures with Epstein caused members of the radical group to air their disdain on Telegram, an online encrypted messaging platform.

One user identified by Newsweek as Qtah wrote: “If you’re paying attention to the media, right now they are attempting to turn the trial of Ghiaslaine Maxwell into the trial of President Trump. These moves always backfire on them.” Qtah, who has more than 128,430 subscribers, added that there was no evidence Trump flew on the plane.

Day two of the trial of British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell is underway in New York City, as the 59-year-old faces charges related to her alleged involvement in financier Jeffrey Epstein’s sex crimes.

Her first accuser, identified only as “Jane”, has taken the stand and testified that Ms Maxwell was in the room when Epstein sexually assaulted her when she was 14 years old.

Epstein’s longtime pilot Larry Visoski was cross-examined by the defence team about specific flights and passengers, following questioning by the prosecution regarding his work and access to Epstein’s properties.

He testified that passengers on Epstein’s plane included Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, Itzhak Perlman, Donald Trump, Chris Tucker, John Glenn, Kevin Spacey, and George Mitchell. Mr Visoski also said he never saw either Ms Maxwell nor Epstein being inappropriate with a minor in 30 years.

On Monday, prosecutor Lara Pomerantz told jurors at the Manhattan federal court that in the 1990s, Ms Maxwell would procure girls for Epstein via the “ruse” of a massage. In response, her defence said that Ms Maxwell was being made a scapegoat because Epstein’s death led her accusers unable to seek justice.

The indictment of Washington attorney Michael Sussman — accused of lying to the FBI in order to smear Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign — reveals the ace up the sleeve of high-powered Democrats. It’s a card they played time and again to advance the Trump-Russia conspiracy theory: friends in high places.

They used friends in law enforcement to launch secret investigations; they used friends in the federal government to broaden those investigations; and they used friends in the media to spread the word about Trump and his organization being under investigation.The Russia fiasco metastasized in large part because those involved in advancing the false allegations had important connections. They used friendships with powerful federal officials to encourage investigations against team Trump. Those targeted by Sussmann and others were unabashed outsiders, and as such lacked the sort of connections the insiders exploited so adroitly.

Sussmann was a partner at the Washington law firm Perkins Coie in 2016, which represented the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s campaign for president. But, according to the indictment handed down by Special Counsel John Durham last week, when he met with the FBI’s general counsel, James Baker, to allege that Trump was in cahoots with the Russians, Sussmann claimed he was representing another client. The indictment alleges this was false.

Securing a meeting with the FBI’s top lawyer can’t have been easy. But for Sussmann it was.
