‘We Cannot Be Afraid To Do Something Because the Left Might Do It in the Future’

Asked by a college student if Republicans ought to be more cautious about “abusing that power” when they control the federal government, Vice President J.D. Vance left no doubt that he’s unworried.

“The left is already going to do it, regardless of whether we do it,” he added.

You’ll have a hard time finding a more concise formulation of the will-to-power sentiment that has seized so much of the conservative movement in recent years. And this was no gaffe—Vance has said similar things on several occasions, and he posted a video of this comment to his official X account.

The full context of the moment is worth appreciating. At a Turning Point USA event in October 2025 at the University of Mississippi, Vance took a question from a student who expressed concern about an unfriendly administration potentially targeting conservatives who might protest against it. “How can we prevent someone from abusing that power?” the student asked.

Vance’s chilling response waves away those worries. Rather than asking conservatives to reflect on the proper limits of political power or the potential consequences of overreaching, the vice president is effectively granting permission for greater intrusions against Americans’ rights and liberties.

No, ICE Agents Do Not Have ‘Absolute Immunity’ From State Prosecution

According to Vice President J.D. Vance, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer who shot and killed Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis cannot be prosecuted for it by Minnesota officials. “The precedent here is very simple,” Vance declared. “You have a federal law enforcement official engaging in federal law enforcement action—that’s a federal issue. That guy is protected by absolute immunity. He was doing his job.”

But the precedent is not actually so simple. In an 1890 case known as In re Neagle, the U.S. Supreme Court held that a federal marshal named David Neagle was “not liable to answer in the Courts of California” after he fatally shot the would-be assassin of a Supreme Court justice named Stephen Field during an attack on Field that occurred on a train traveling through California (Neagle was present as Field’s official bodyguard). “Under the circumstances,” the Court said, Neagle “was acting under the authority of the law of the United States, and was justified in so doing.” Therefore, “he is not liable to answer in the courts of California on account of his part in that transaction.”

Vance may have been thinking of In re Neagle when he claimed that ICE agents possess “absolute immunity” from state prosecution. However, In re Neagle was not the Supreme Court’s final word on the matter.

Vance Blasts Court Order to Fund SNAP as ‘Absurd’

Vice President JD Vance on Thursday slammed a federal court ruling requiring the Trump administration to fully fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) for November, calling the decision “absurd” and an overreach during a government shutdown.

“It’s an absurd ruling because you have a federal judge effectively telling us what we have to do in the middle of a Democrat government shutdown,” Vance said during a roundtable with Central Asian leaders at the White House.

Vance said the administration wants to restore full funding once Democrats agree to reopen the government, but argued that the court should not dictate how the administration prioritizes spending during a shutdown.

“What we’d like to do is for the Democrats to open up the government, of course,” he said.

“Then we can fund SNAP, and we can also do a lot of other good things for the American people.

“But in the midst of a shutdown, we can’t have a federal court telling the president how he has to triage the situation,” Vance said.

U.S. District Judge John J. McConnell Jr. ruled earlier Thursday that the administration’s plan to issue partial payments failed to comply with his earlier order.

The Justice Department said it will appeal the ruling, leaving the fate of SNAP benefits for millions of Americans uncertain.

VP J.D. Vance Torches Democrats for Hypocrisy — Dems Ignore Democrat AG Candidate Fantasizing About Killing Republicans While Young GOPers Are Publicly Crucified Over LEAKED Private Group Chat ‘Jokes’

Vice President J.D. Vance is lashing out, and with good reason.

While Democrats remain strangely silent about the resurfaced texts from Virginia Democratic Attorney General candidate Jay Jones, in which he fantasized about murdering Republican lawmakers and their children, the party is leading the charge to annihilate young Republicans for off-color “jokes” in private group chats.

Last week, the National Review and other outlets published a set of private texts from 2022 in which then–Virginia delegate Jay Jones allegedly wrote to Republican Delegate Carrie Coyner:

“Gilbert gets two bullets to the head.”
“Gilbert, Hitler, and Pol Pot … Gilbert receives both bullets every time.”

Additional messages include Jones doubling down after calling Coyner, claiming that politicians “must feel pain themselves,” like the agony that parents feel when they watch their children get killed.

Jones also said he wished Gilbert’s wife could watch her own child die in her arms so that Gilbert might move to the left politically. Infuriated by his wretched remark, Coyner hung up the phone.

ABC Cuts off JD Vance’s Feed After He DESTROYS George Stephanopoulos

Vice President JD Vance appeared on ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” on Sunday, where he schooled the far-left host before Stephanopoulos abruptly ended the interview.

Vance called him out for continuing to push hoaxes despite losing credibility with the American people, and ABC pulled the plug on the interview.

“Here’s, George, why fewer and fewer people watch your program, and why you’re losing credibility, because you’re talking for now five minutes with the Vice President of the United States about this story regarding Tom Homan, a story that I’ve read about, but I don’t even know the video that you’re talking about. Meanwhile, low-income women can’t get food because the Democrats and Chuck Schumer have shut down the government,” Vance said.

“You’re focused on a bogus story. You’re insinuating criminal wrongdoing against a guy who has done nothing wrong, instead of focusing on the fact that our country is struggling because our government’s shut down.”

Liberal media and leftists on social media have been pushing a ‘bribery scandal’ story about Tom Homan, claiming that he was busted by the Biden DOJ accepting a $50,000 bribe to secure government contracts before the 2024 election.

However, as The Gateway Pundit reported, the hit job on Homan, which was just another Biden DOJ fishing expedition against a political opponent, quickly flamed out.

Stephanopoulos attempted to press Vance on the bogus story on Sunday and instantly regretted it.

After Vance called him out, Stephanopoulos tried to defend himself, then ended the interview without allowing Vance to get another word in.

Vance Says Trump Is Considering Supplying Ukraine With Tomahawk Missiles

Vice President JD Vance said in an interview that aired Sunday that President Trump was considering the possibility of supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, a step that would mark a significant escalation of the proxy war, as the missiles have a range of over 1,000 miles.

“You asked this question about Tomahawks. It’s something the president is going to make the final determination on. What the president is going to do is what’s in the best interest for the United States of America … I know that we’re having conversations this very minute about that issue,” Vance said in an appearance on Fox News Sunday.

It’s unclear how Ukraine would use the Tomahawk missiles if they were supplied, as they are designed to be fired by US Navy warships and submarines. Vadym Skibitskyi, the deputy head of Ukraine’s military intelligence agency, previously said that Ukraine lacks the naval infrastructure to use sea-launched Tomahawks.

The US could potentially provide Ukraine with its new ground-based Typhon missile launcher, which can fire Tomahawks and was developed after the US withdrew from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty in 2019. The INF prohibited land-based missile systems with a range between 310 and 3,400 miles.

Vance didn’t address the risk of escalation that comes with providing Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. Moscow has previously made clear that US-backed missile strikes on its territory risk nuclear escalation, as it changed its nuclear doctrine to lower the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons after the Biden administration gave the green light for Ukraine to fire US-provided ATACMS missiles into Russia.

When asked about his previous opposition to the US arming Ukraine, the vice president pointed to the fact that the US is now having European countries fund the weapons shipments. However, last month, the administration announced a deal that will arm Ukraine with Extended Range Attack Munition (ERAM) air-launched missiles, which can hit targets up to 280 miles away, that will be partially funded by US military aid.

Tomahawks would put Moscow in range of Ukrainian missile strikes, and Vance’s comments came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky threatened that Kremlin officials could become targets if the war continues. “They have to know where the bomb shelters are,” Zelensky said in an interview with Axios. “They need it. If they will not stop the war, they will need it in any case.”

In the same interview, Zelensky said that he had the explicit backing of President Trump to hit Russian energy infrastructure and arms factories and warned that if the US provided additional long-range capabilities, “we will use it.”

Russia, which hasn’t targeted Ukrainian leadership, has dismissed Zelensky’s threat. “Zelensky is trying to demonstrate to the Europeans, who now act as the breadwinners, that he is such a brave soldier,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. “Meanwhile, the state of affairs at the front indicates the opposite. With every passing day, the situation for Ukraine is inexorably deteriorating.”

Vice President JD Vance calls out ‘left-wing radicals’ for inciting political violence in social media post

Vice President JD Vance fired back on social media on Friday after being tagged in a video that appeared to mock Trump supporters over their response to the 2023 Bud Light controversy.

The clip, which was posted to X, showed a man shooting Bud Light cans seemingly in protest of the brand’s 2023 partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

The user then took aim at Vance, telling him not to complain about “violent rhetoric from the left.”

“This is how MAGA responded after Bud Lite had the audacity to feature a trans influencer in their ads,” the X user said. “So spare us your b——- about violent rhetoric from the left, [JD Vance].”

Vance Slams Democrats, Media For ‘Encouraging Crazy People’ To ‘Commit Violence’

Vice President JD Vance called out “left-wing media” and Democrats, specifically naming Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-CA, for “encouraging crazy people to go and commit violence” in a speech in North Carolina Wednesday.

“The very people who keep us safe ought to be honored and protected and praised by Democrats and Republicans alike,” Vance said. “It is time to stop the rhetorical assault on law enforcement.”

Vance covered the Trump Administration’s fight against crime in Washington, D.C., and Charlie Kirk’s assassination earlier this month before addressing Wednesday’s shooting at the ICE facility in Dallas.

Vance said the shooting was politically motivated and was perpetrated by a “violent, left-wing extremist,” evidenced by the “anti-ICE” writing on a bullet and other information Vance said was not yet public.

Vance’s speech also referenced the NBC story that falsely accused ICE agents of using a 5-year-old girl as bait to arrest her father, as covered by The Federalist.

“Political violence has gotten out of control in this country. We’ve got to stop it. We’ve got to condemn it. And that starts, unfortunately, at the very top of the Democratic Party,” Vance said. “If you want to stop political violence, stop attacking our law enforcement as the Gestapo … stop telling your supporters that everybody who disagrees with you is a Nazi. If you want to stop political violence, look in the mirror.”

Obama Hack’s Attempt to Embarrass JD Vance Over His Take on Dallas ICE Shooting Backfires When VP Points Out an Inconvenient Fact : “What, Precisely, Did I Get Wrong, Dipsh*t?”

Yet another leftist has learned the hard way that Vice-President JD Vance has a social media fastball almost as powerful as President Trump’s after trying to dunk on him over the Dallas ICE shooting.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, an individual killed two migrants and wounded up to four in a shooting Wednesday morning at a Dallas Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility. The shooter, identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Jahn fired at the ICE building from a nearby rooftop. No ICE agents were injured.

Immediately following the shooting (and before the suspect was identified), Vance took to X to give his thoughts on what happened.

“The obsessive attack on law enforcement, particularly ICE, must stop,” he wrote. “I’m praying for everyone hurt in this attack and for their families.”

Following the revelation of the ICE detainees being killed, former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau decided this would be a perfect time to dunk on Vance for supposedly getting his facts wrong. Favreau apparently thought a MAGA Republican was targeting migrants.

“The Vice President is not a reliable source of information,” Favreau whined. “This is now the fifth or sixth time he’s posted a political take contradicted by facts from his own law enforcement agencies.”

Vance did not let this garbage go unanswered, however. He fired back at Favreau, pointing out a basic inconvenient fact: the gunman had anti-ICE messaging on the bullets used.

This proves the attack was a product of left-wing violence targeted at immigration enforcement. Thus, Vance was right to begin with.

“The gunman had anti-ICE messaging carved on the bullets he used. What, precisely, did I get wrong, dipsh*t?” Vance asked.

J.D. Vance Says 26 Percent of Young Liberals Justify Political Violence. Here’s What the Data Really Say.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk has elicited egregious reactions across social media. On the left, some have reacted to his murder by calling Kirk a Nazi and likening him to Adolf Hitler. Others callously mocked Kirk and celebrated his assassination. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has assigned responsibility for the tragedy to those who demonized Kirk, and Attorney General Pam Bondi said Monday that the Justice Department will go after those “targeting anyone with hate speech.” The Daily Wire‘s Matt Walsh has gone so far as to say he “cannot ‘unite’ with the Left because they want me dead” and “will spit on my grave when I die and laugh in the faces of my wife and children.”

On Monday, Vice President J.D. Vance echoed this us-vs.-them mentality while hosting Kirk’s podcast, The Charlie Kirk Show. During the episode, Vance said that America must confront the difficult truth that “24 percent of self-described quote, ‘very liberals,’ believe it is acceptable to be happy about the death of a political opponent” and “26 percent of young liberals believe political violence is sometimes justified.”

However, Vance cherry-picks data from a YouGov poll released two days after Kirk’s assassination to paint an inordinately bleak picture of the state of American political discourse.

According to that poll, which was conducted immediately following Kirk’s murder, the majority (55 percent) of “very liberal” respondents said violence is never justified to achieve political goals. An even larger majority of self-described liberals (68 percent) shared this view. Similar majorities of “very liberals” (56 percent) and liberals (73 percent) said it was always or usually unacceptable for “a person to be happy about the death of a public figure they oppose.” (It’s possible that at least some of the liberals who answered “yes, violence can sometimes be justified” had in mind edge cases like armed resistance by Jews against the SS, not the assassination of peaceful political pundits with whom they disagree.)

It is true that larger majorities of “very conservatives” (88 percent) and conservatives (83 percent) said political violence is never justified. Likewise, 90 percent and 91 percent, respectively, said it is “always or usually unacceptable” for a person to be happy about the death of a public figure they oppose. While the disparity between American liberals’ and conservatives’ condemnation of political violence and its celebration is notable, the fact remains that a majority of even “very liberal” Americans reject political violence outright and denounce its celebration.

Concern about political violence is bipartisan: 90 percent of Democrats regard political violence in the U.S. as a problem, as do 89 percent of Republicans. Considering that even more Democrats regard political violence as a “very big problem” following Kirk’s murder than they did following the murder of Minnesota’s Democratic Speaker of the House Melissa Hortman, it cannot be said that they only care about political violence when it’s enacted against their political allies.

In the aftermath of Kirk’s murder, it’s important to recognize that the majority of Americans are united in denouncing political violence and those who celebrate it.
