Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday claimed she didn’t know that Joe Biden was mentally declining until she saw his June 2024 debate performance.
“You see, when I was Speaker, I saw the president all the time, but when I wasn’t then I saw him maybe 3 times that whole year and so I didn’t know, and I think he had his sort of ups and downs,” Pelosi said on Tuesday at Politico’s The California Agenda: Sacramento Summit.
But I do think those who did know should have acted upon that information…whoever knew,” Pelosi said.
Pelosi took a veiled shot at Jill Biden.
“There was staff saying the family knew. The family said the staff,” Pelosi said without mentioning Dr. Jill’s name.
Pelosi said that she learned about Biden’s mental decline during the June 2024 debate against Trump.
“When you think of the debate and how sad that was, that’s really when we learned,” Pelosi said.
