You Can’t Make This Up: Daughter of Indicted Virginia Democrat Wrote Big Check to Illicit Drug Shell Company Called “Freedom is Dope” that Later BOUNCED – Then the State Legislator Wrote a Replacement Check

More details have emerged regarding last week’s federal indictment of Virginia State Democratic Senator L. Louise Lucas, which show just how boneheaded she and her family had to be to get busted.

As The Gateway Pundit’s Cassandra MacDonald reported, federal authorities charged the Trump-hating 82-year-old Lucas on Thursday with racketeering, money laundering conspiracy, conspiracy to distribute marijuana, and gun possession as part of an alleged public corruption scheme tied to a cannabis business that she co-owns.

A Justice Department spokesperson confirmed that Lucas turned herself in to the authorities and was arrested.

Per Fox News’s Bill Melugin, members of Lucas’ family were also busted by the feds.

Authorities also charged and took into custody a half-dozen others in the alleged scheme.

Now, more details have emerged that paint a damning picture for Lucas.

Per the federal indictment, Lucas asked a supplier on April 19, 2022, if they were law enforcement, then bought 3-5 pounds of marijuana.

Her daughter, Lisa Lucas-Burke, later wrote a $6,600 business check to a business called “Freedom is Dope.” That’s when the story gets funny.

The check Lucas’s daughter wrote BOUNCED due to “insufficient funds.” Lucas later wrote a signed replacement check on June 8, 2022, from a Backyard Entertainment, LLC account.

Note: “Freedom to Dope” and “Backyard Entertainment” are Lucas’ family’s shell companies.
