The suit was filed on Friday October 23, 2026, in Collin County district court. The suit alleges OpenAI misled consumers about ChatGPT’s safety and failed to protect Texans — including children — from harmful AI outputs

According to the Woodlands Online the suit asserts:
** Misrepresented safety and reliability of ChatGPT while omitting significant risks

** Rushed products to market for profit, disregarding internal safety warnings

** Collected minors’ data without parental oversight and allegedly contributed to incidents like AI-assisted mass shootings
