Somali Rep. Ilhan Omar on Wednesday claimed that she lives “paycheck to paycheck” and has no wealth despite previously reporting a net worth of up to $30 million on a financial disclosure.
Omar previously revealed in a financial disclosure a net worth of $6 million to $30 million but later claimed that it was an “accounting error” and that she is actually worth between $18,004 and $95,000.
At the center of the discrepancy is her husband’s shady “winery” business. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, who is investigating Omar’s finances, recently said the winery was “shut down because of fraud,” revealing that they were selling empty barrels of wine to investors.
Now, the ongoing criminal fraud investigation is probing Ilhan Omar’s likely fraudulent disclosures, US Attorney Jeanine Pirro confirmed last week. President Trump further suggested that “her highly paid accountant actually reported the money that was stolen from her fraudulent activities in Minnesota.”
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Omar sat for her first interview since the raid on her Washington, DC, home last Monday, with MS Now’s Chris Hayes on Wednesday. During the interview, she was also asked whether her ex-husband was her biological brother, and she gave an insane response, saying, “not to my knowledge.” Instead of just saying no, she said she isn’t sure.
In the damage control interview, Hayes was essentially answering the question and attempting to discredit claims about Omar while teeing up softballs.
