Suspect Detained In Apparent Assassination Attempt Of Louisville Mayoral Candidate

Authorities in Louisville have confirmed that a suspect is in custody in what law enforcement believes to have been an attempted targeted shooting of Democrat mayoral candidate Craig Greenburg on February 14th.

The incident occurred shortly after 10:00 a.m. at Butchertown Market on Story Avenue, where Greenburg has an office situated.

Metro Council President David James as well as Louisville Metro Police Chief Erika Shields confirmed that the suspect, who authorities have yet to identify by name, entered Greenburg’s office and began opening fire at the mayoral candidate.

When commenting on the incident, Chief Shields stated, “We consider ourselves very fortunate today.”
