Drones are now making landfall as the Biden regime continues to dismiss concerns regarding potential threats.
The Gateway Pundit on Friday reported that a supposed drone crash on Thursday night sparked a massive search-and-rescue operation in Hillsborough Township. But after nearly 16 hours of searching, officials came up empty-handed, and the operation was called off around noon on Friday.
But that same night, a drone fell out of the sky and crashed into a New Jersey homeowner’s backyard. The news sparked so much alarm that the town’s mayor drove to the scene to examine the site himself.
The New York Post reported that the aircraft fell in a residential area of Pequannock Township in Morris County at roughly 8:45 p.m. Thursday.
The Pequannock Police Department, though, told the Post that they think the drone was not a military or commercial drone but rather more like a “hobby or toy drone.” However, this information has not yet been corroborated.
The Post notes that this news comes as New Jersey police officers warn of possible “copycats” trying to take advantage of America’s panic.
“What we think is it started as some sort of Picatinny Arsenal base surveillance drill or operation but once it exploded online, this became a copycat situation,” one New Jersey police chief speculated.
When The Post arrived at the crash site, the resident whose backyard was ‘victimized’ declined to comment.
